The stock of the group's flagship firm Adani Enterprises plunged 22.99%, Adani Ports dived 20%, Adani Energy Solutions tanked 20%, Adani Green Energy plummeted 19.53% and Adani Total Gas tumbled 18.14% on the BSE. Shares of Adani Power slumped 17.79%, Ambuja Cements cracked 17.59%, ACC fell 14.54%, NDTV dropped 14.37% and Adani Wilmar declined 10%. Some of the group firms also hit their lowest trading permissible limit or lower circuit for the day. The combined market capitalisation (mcap) of all the ten listed group firms eroded by ₹2,45,016.51 crore during the morning deals. In the equity market, the BSE benchmark Sensex traded 536.89 points lower at 77,041.49 and the NSE Nifty quoted 186.75 points down at 23,331.75. US prosecutors charged Adani, 62, his nephew Sagar and other defendants for paying over $250 million in bribes between 2020 and 2024 to Indian government officials to win solar energy contracts on terms that could potentially bring in more than $2 billion in profit. This, they alleged, was concealed from the US banks and investors from whom the Adani group raised billions of dollars for the project. The complaint charges them with violating the antifraud provisions of the federal securities laws and seeks permanent injunctions, civil penalties, and officer and director bars. US law allows pursuing foreign corruption allegations if they involve certain links to American investors or markets. The Adani group did not immediately respond to requests for comments. The model also has intelligent throttle response based on the ride terrain, smart sensors to prevent rollback during incline and controlled descent during declines," Vadera said. ePluto 7G MAX is deployed with seven different microcontrollers and numerous sensors, which offer more powerful processing compared to a smartphone, along with the facility of going through any future OTA firmware updates. Highlighting the improvements in powertrain efficiency, Vadera further added that "the new drive train has industry-leading efficiency of over 92 per cent. The braking experience is significantly improved in terms of braking distance, time to stop, wheel rotating speed effort and the braking force, leading to 30 per cent life cycle enhancement of front and rear brakes". The scooter is also equipped with smart regen capabilities with an EAC-Braking System, including coating regen to enhance range and safety. MAX has reverse mode assist and parking assist features to auto-push the vehicle at a steady speed of 5 kmph. "We are delighted to offer a standard battery warranty of 60,000 kms and an extended warranty of 70,000 kms," Vadera mentioned. The company is also aggressively expanding its dealer network across all the leading cities and towns, and targeting more than 300 touch points by the end of FY24. It comes with the Dell logo at the back, with the rest of the back being empty. The laptop comes with a 2-in-1 form factor, meaning it can also be used as a tablet. It features a sturdy hinge that allows you to comfortably convert it from a laptop to a tablet and vice versa, without worrying too much. The company says that this is the most compact business laptop in the market and it’s true. The weight is slightly on the higher side but that has been done to make it durable and sturdy. The metal edges and soft-touch matte finish give it a premium look and it feels good when you hold it. One of my gripes about a lot of laptops is that they are difficult to open with on hand. Opening the Dell Latitude 9450 may be an issue sometimes as you may not find anything on the lid to hold onto. Unlike Apple’s MacBook which can be opened easily with a single hand, I often had to use both hands to open the laptop. Once you open the laptop, you appreciate the design even more. The keyboard offers a smooth and velvety feel. The palm rest is also very soft and feels very comfortable to use. While you can easily navigate the touchscreen with your fingers, Dell also offers a stylus to help you make the best out of the touchscreen. While an OLED panel would have offered improved contrast and better blacks, the IPS panel on the Latitude 9450 performs well. The biggest issue with the display is that the refresh rate is limited to 60Hz. <h2>Performance</h2>The Dell Latitude 9450 is available in various configurations. I tested the variant with the Intel Core Ultra 7 165U chipset. The chipset offers which offers two performance cores and eight efficiency cores. The Intel Core Ultra is a new Meteor Lake chipset from the company and comes with Intel Arc graphics. The laptop is equipped with up to 16GB LPPDR5X RAM and 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe. The new chipset from Intel is equipped with a dedicated neural processor unit that is aimed at performing AI tasks with ease. The laptop can handle machine learning and AI workloads without breaking a sweat. As the device is packed with powerful hardware, I had no issues with performance. The laptop easily handles everything that you throw at it without any issues and multi-tasking is a breeze. The Solar module manufacturing business of the group saw module sales rise by 125 per cent YoY in the quarter. Furthermore, the operationalization of photovoltaic cell lines lowered costs, resulting in higher profitability. The airport business also continues to see strong growth from rising passenger movement, increasing consumer offerings, and the addition of routes, airlines, and flights across seven operational airports. Adani Enterprises' performance indicates that in airports, the annual passenger movement across 7 airports crossed 90 million for the first time. During the quarter, eight new routes, six new airlines, and 13 new flights were added across all seven airports. Additionally, 25 new brands were introduced at Lucknow airport after the inauguration of Terminal 3. The road business achieved its highest-ever 730 lane-km construction during this quarter. In the Adani Green Energy segment, construction work for a 500 MW hydro pump storage has commenced, with a 31 per cent YoY capacity addition during the quarter. Another 250 MW wind capacity was operationalized in July at Khavda, bringing the total capacity to 11.2 GW. Adani Energy Solutions stated that the Khavda-Bhuj Transmission Line (KBTL) is fully commissioned, enabling 3 GW green power evacuation from Khavda. Is it to learn about a specific topic, get feedback on an existing idea, or pitch them on a new venture?Once I have clarity, I use my goal outcome to shape three discussion topics or broad questions for the conversation. For example, I recently had coffee with a prominent entrepreneur. I went in with the following goals:<ol><li>Learn about his background and founding journey.</li><li>Understand his perspective on the current investment landscape for social products.</li><li>Ask him to speak at my upcoming conference.</li></ol>Three is the sweet spot because it's easy enough to remember but not overly structured to the point where the conversation becomes rehearsed and inorganic.<h2 id="467bf9bf-8ee3-4daa-ba22-388c29e09ee9">2. Do your homework</h2>Spend at least an hour researching the person who you plan to have coffee with. If they're more private, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/google-search-lens-ai-gemini-overviews-new-features-2024-10">a simple Google search</a> and LinkedIn feed review will do. If they're more public (e.g. a prominent author), opt to listen to old podcasts that they've spoken in, watch their YouTube videos, and review their website to get a sense of who they are and what they're working on.Come up with a few specific questions that you believe nobody has asked in the past.<h2 id="86eb2e83-8f59-4d13-89eb-15157890a5a8">3. Modify your ask accordingly</h2>In my experience, it's easiest to get someone to agree to a 15-to 20-minute phone call, followed by a Zoom meeting (usually 30 minutes) before in-person coffee.The more prominent or high-profile the person <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cutting-work-meetings-can-make-you-happier-and-more-productive-2024-7">you want to meet</a> is, the harder it will be to meet with them in person.Modify your ask based on your potential relationship with the person. You might only get a 15-minute phone call with the CTO of a billion-dollar company versus a bike ride with your new colleague at the company.<h2 id="12824776-b10f-4698-bae7-4fda117ef0a4">4. Listen to learn, not to respond</h2>Come prepared to learn, but don't over-program your coffee chat. Avoid putting the other person in the hot seat by barraging them with questions about their past. Instead, keep it organic and start with broad, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/questions-to-ask-at-end-of-job-interview-2016-4">open-ended questions</a> that allow the conversation to flow.While you should have an agenda in mind, let their answers to previous questions steer the conversation naturally. Don't make it seem like an awkward job interview.<h2 id="2e91eb1c-6f72-4ae8-84ad-d062364c270b">5. Save your ask for later unless it adds value</h2>If you have an ask (e.g. looking for a job referral, selling your service, asking for investment), save it for after your conversation unless it comes up naturally or if it was the intention of your original conversation.<a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/12-questions-every-founder-should-ask-investors-micah-rosenbloom-vc-2020-10">Adding in an ask</a> sneakily might throw them off and derail the conversation. They might think you're just schmoozing them.Feel free to ask: "How can I help?" but only if you mean it. This gives you an opportunity to be helpful and follow up with something valuable. In building relationships, I follow the rule of: Give, Give, Give, Ask. Give thrice before you ask once.<h2 id="b260126c-98ce-425a-ba6b-304c3004906c">6. Bring a gift</h2><a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/gifts/gifts-for-boss">Gift-giving</a>, when done right, can be a powerful way to build new relationships.I don't mean bringing flowers (yikes) or buying them a new Rolex, but instead, a metaphorical gift that has business value. Research the person you want to meet and bring them new ideas to solve their problem.I recently had coffee with an exited entrepreneur who sold his company for nine figures and was building a new startup in a different space I was familiar with. I prepared five ideas that I believed could improve his branding and product strategy, and he was elated. The next day, he offered to fly me to another city to have dinner with him and the team.<h2 id="ab623084-3001-4248-8d56-48bbea924a57">7. Follow-up</h2>In most cases, the follow-up is where the action happens. Take notes during the conversation with a pen and paper (in some environments, using a phone or laptop might come across as rude). Follow up within 48 hours of meeting them with a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/the-perfect-interview-follow-up-letter-2015-7">thank-you note</a> and a summary of the next steps. They'll appreciate your punctuality and organization.From the last hundred coffee chats I've had, less than five people have done this. Doing this automatically puts you in the 95th percentile of people I've met with.<h2 id="25442abf-f3b4-4494-962a-54ec9bfe5ac4">Put it into action</h2>Remember, a coffee chat is often just the start of your relationship. Though it's limited to what you can accomplish in 30 to 60 minutes, it can open the door for more opportunities and conversations down the road.Try this:<ul><li>Create a list of 10 interesting people you want to meet this month.</li><li>Reach out to them with a template.</li><li>Aim to meet three of them — and use this formula.</li></ul>Finally, if you're fortunate enough to be in a position where a lot of people are asking for your time, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-giving-back-can-benefit-you-2018-11">consider giving back</a>. Thankfully, we were well within the cutoff limit and didn't need to worry about the food running out before we ordered.<h2 id="75dce06e-48b5-4509-b331-86569a39fe52">The samples we received left me wanting more</h2>We could smell the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/review-is-texas-roadhouse-worth-it-date-night-2023-11">delicious meat</a> since the smokers were very close to the line, which made us even more eager to eat.Around 10:30 a.m., another employee came to hand out some small samples.Although the portion sizes were smaller than a bite, the piece I tried had me salivating. Business Insider has verified the sale of the property with documentation. The following has been edited for length and clarity.I had a dream to create a village of Nordic-inspired cabins in the heart of Texas.I found a five-acre parcel of land in Waco on Zillow, just a few miles from my home. In March 2021, I purchased the land using a short-term loan and personal savings for $138,000.In nine and a half months, I managed the design and construction of a seven-unit <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/starting-successful-tiny-house-airbnb-business-tips-2023-1">micro-resort</a> with an immersive natural setting. I financed the build with a construction loan from a local community bank and through raising equity from friends and family. It cost $2.5 million to build, including a container pool and hot tubs, which we added later on.We launched in January 2022. A travel influencer who marketed the resort on Instagram helped us go viral and generate a huge number of bookings. It was like an instant goldmine.We went all in on Instagram, growing the brand through creating content and partnering with influencers. Some of our early guests became superfans, coming back multiple times a year and bringing others with them. In our first 12 months of being open, we brought in $860,000 in bookings.The entire time we operated the business, I kept in mind that if someone came and offered the right price and terms, I'd consider selling it. I believe that every material possession should have a price tag attached to it.I sold the property, called <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tiny-house-airbnb-hotel-waco-texas-see-inside-2022-10">Live Oak Lake</a>, for $7 million in October 2023. I learned a lot about securing a deal, including the value of having a good broker and attorneys.<h2 id="25fde6b5-f457-43bf-be94-6ce8e4254041">The uniqueness of the property helped us get a good price on the sale</h2>Live Oak Lake was like my baby. I built it from the ground up.The first three months after we opened were challenging. I was learning how to integrate <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/real-estate-passive-income-hospitality-short-term-rental-airbnb-2024-10">property management software</a>, and my wife was doing the cleaning. We hired a part-time cleaning and guest communications manager and a part-time operations manager, who then ran the property after the first few months.I was then spending around five to 10 hours a week on the business, mostly doing marketing. Because you're open for business 24/7 in hospitality, some of those hours were late at night when guests were arriving late. I was doing personal branding and coaching alongside the hotel. My wife and I also did mission work with our church.Part of the reason I considered selling Live Oak Lake was because of the stress of running it. Even though I automated elements for efficiency, in <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hiring-jobs-restaurants-hotels-leisure-hospitality-healthcare-government-2024-7">hospitality</a>, the guest experience is paramount. I was focused on blowing guests away and wanted to look at every single review. It was hard to unplug from the business.We listed Live Oak Lake for sale in the summer of 2022. Several parties were interested, but we felt the property was worth more. We removed that listing and raised the price by $1 million when we next listed in January 2023.A broker who specialized in outdoor hospitality reached out and helped me from there. When we relisted the property, the broker helped vet the interested parties.We were about to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-sales-tips-for-closing-deals-faster-2016-5">close on a deal</a> for $6.5 million, but the buyers backed out the day before we were set to close. It was an emotional roller coaster.A few days later, we received another offer for $7 million from a private group of investors, which we were able to close on. The property is being run similarly to before, and some of my friends who I hired to manage things on the ground still work there.I think the uniqueness and novelty of the property, the audience we built, and the quality of the hospitality we offered helped us sell for that price.We weren't in a hurry to sell, but $7 million was a lot of money. Plus, I hit it off with the buyer and liked their vision. I felt they understood what made us special, like our social media following, direct bookings, and unique experience.<h2 id="c7a0c906-c322-4402-99d2-bf69962ff44c">I learned a valuable lesson about selling a property</h2>One thing I learned from the selling process was the importance of having good attorneys and a great <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/mortgages/how-to-find-real-estate-agent">broker</a>.Our broker was local, which was a huge help. There were a lot of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/mortgages/home-inspection">property inspections</a> and meetings with prospective buyers. He could help with those things without me having to drop everything.He alleviated my emotional volatility and attachment to the property because I didn't have to be involved in every interaction. I'm a very detail-oriented person who likes to micromanage things. I needed to trust other people, like my attorneys and the broker, who could take my hands off of the selling process.
