<strong>See who’s drinking &amp; how much you are shelling out</strong><br /> Starbucks’ booming business might have led you to believe in America’s growing love affair with coffee, but a recent survey by Euromonitor shows the country is nowhere among the top 15 coffee-drinking nations. So who tops the obsession list now? <keyword id="77570" type="COUNTRY" weightage="100" keywordseo="The-Netherlands">The Netherlands</keyword>, with per capita consumption of 2.414 cups a day that almost equals the combined consumption of the US, the UK, Spain and <keyword id="6354785" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="France">France</keyword>. The US is at No. 16, with a per head consumption of 0.931 cup a day. However, the US still spends a whopping $4 billion on <keyword id="2026325" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Coffee-import">coffee import</keyword>. An average coffee drinker spends about $4,500 a year on coffee or $180,000 throughout his/her career. What about savings, we wonder.<br />

<strong>World’s most expensive coffee – will it turn you off?</strong><br /> If you are an animal lover, you should stay off the smoothest coffee called <keyword id="1347492" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kopi-Luwak">Kopi Luwak</keyword> (Indonesian for <keyword id="672295" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Civet-coffee">civet coffee</keyword>) that can cost as much as $30-100 for a cup in <keyword id="6354968" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="London">London</keyword> and <keyword id="6355838" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="New-York">New York</keyword>. But just like the discovery of original coffee beans, a freak event led to the discovery of the most luxurious coffee. In colonial <keyword id="8692" type="COUNTRY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indonesia">Indonesia</keyword>, workers were forbidden to consume coffee beans collected from the plant. However, wild <keyword id="2026332" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Asian-palm-civets">Asian palm civets</keyword> often ate the ripest <keyword id="2026341" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Coffee-cherries">coffee cherries</keyword> and the semi-digested beans were picked up from their excretion, cleaned and roasted by plantation workers. It was soon learnt that these beans get a unique aroma and rich, heavy flavour with hints of caramel and chocolate. Today, Kopi Luwak is mostly mass produced by feeding the caged civets.<br />

<strong>Clover, Clover… on the counter</strong><br /> Forget the instant, the espresso; it’s the age of brew, at a cost, of course. But you won’t mind shelling out more at Starbucks if you are trying a Clover cup of brew. Clover is a state-of-the-art coffee-maker that uses vacuum-press technology to brew one cup at a time. It also lets one select the brewing time and temperature to coax the best flavour out of the particular bean. Each machine costs around $11,000, but as Starbucks has bought the company six years ago, one can imagine the kind of investment it has made to serve ‘personalised’ coffee. By the end of 2014, the company is planning to double the number of its locations around the world that offer the premium Clover brewing system. As of now, Clover machines are used in 25 US markets and 10 international destinations, including the UK, the <keyword id="44173" type="COUNTRY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Netherlands">Netherlands</keyword>, Russia, Poland, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and <keyword id="6387116" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Kuwait">Kuwait</keyword>.<br />

But even he got caught in a date with coffee and recently appeared in a 20 second TV commercial for an espresso coffee machine brand in the UK. <ul class="summary-list"><li><a href="https://www.gq.com/story/george-clooney-icon-of-the-year-2020">In an interview with GQ</a>, <keyword id="11804" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="George-Clooney">George Clooney</keyword> recalled his near-fatal <a href="https://www.insider.com/george-clooney-motorcycle-accident-sardinia-2018-7">motorcycle crash in Italy in 2018</a>.</li><li>Clooney was thrown from his bike at 75 mph when a car turned into him, and he told GQ he thought the crash would be his last moments on Earth.</li><li>However, Clooney said he will always remember how passers-by got out of their cars, stood over him and "just pulled out their phones and started taking video."</li><li>Clooney said: "I'll never forget the moment that what I thought might be my last few moments was for everyone else a piece of <keyword id="4578" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="entertainment">entertainment</keyword>."</li></ul><p>George Clooney said that people started filming him on the ground after he suffered a near-fatal motorcycle crash, which he thought might be his last moments on Earth.</p><p><a href="https://www.gq.com/story/george-clooney-icon-of-the-year-2020">In a new interview with GQ</a>, the Oscar-winning actor recalled the <a href="https://www.insider.com/george-clooney-motorcycle-accident-sardinia-2018-7">2018 motorcycle crash</a> in Sardinia Italy, where a car turned in front of him while he was going 75 mph.</p><p>"I launched. I go head over heels. But I landed on my hands and knees. If you did it 100 times, maybe once you land on your hands and knees, and any other version you land, you're toast. It knocked me out of my shoes," Clooney said.</p><p>"When I hit the ground ... my mouth — I thought all my teeth were broken out. But it was glass from the windshield [of the car he hit]."</p><div type="image" title="George Clooney car crash" height="1036" width="1381" msid="79283294" hostid="261"></div><p>The crash took place on the Italian island while Clooney was shooting "Catch-22," the miniseries that he produced, directed, and starred in based on Joseph Heller's book of the same name.</p><p>Clooney said that he expected to come out of the crash with, at the very least, paralysis, and was lying on the ground "waiting for the switch to turn off." Miraculously, he survived with no serious or life-threatening injuries.  </p><p>However, Clooney said he would never forget the reactions of passers-by who stopped to film him after the crash.</p><p>"I was on the ground. I was really screaming. Like, really screaming. And Grant [Heslov] came back, and he was screaming at everybody to get an ambulance, and I remember everybody got out of their cars, they stopped in the middle of the street, and all these people came and stood over me and just pulled out their phones and started taking video."</p><p>Clooney continued: "It's a funny thing. I'm not a cynical guy, and I really tend to look at life and try to find the good in everything. George Clooney recalls people filming him on their phones after his near-fatal motorcycle crash in Italy

The film is a twisted mix of drama and comedy, which the Coens are known for, and was written by the brothers, along with Clooney and his longtime writing partner Grant Heslov. &#xa0;</p><p>The movie also stars Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac.</p><p>Trailers for Coen brother movies are often misleading, but at the least it looks like Damon is going to give one outlandish performance. &#xa0;</p><p>Check out the trailer below. George Clooney and the Coen brothers combine forces for the dark comedy 'Suburbicon' - watch the trailer

But after seeing "Suburbicon" you're left with only disappointment as all these talents couldn't pull off a good movie.<p>A major reason for the disappointing outcome is that the movie tries to be a dark satire on suburban culture <em>and</em> a commentary on racism. Yes, that part of the movie will be a surprise, especially if you've seen the trailer.</p><p>According to a profile on Clooney done recently by <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/features/at-home-george-clooney-italy-amal-twins-politics-an-incendiary-new-movie-1035363" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Hollywood Reporter</a>, the&#xa0;Coens originally wrote their script back in the 1990s and approached Clooney to star in it. That story, set in the 1950s, follows a white family looking to be living a carefree life in the suburbs until a home invasion leaves the father unhinged. Recently when Clooney took the project on as something for him to direct - with racial tension bubbling to the surface during Donald Trump's race for the presidency - he and his writing partner Grant Heslov decided to also include a real-life incident that took place in Levittown, Pennsylvania in 1957 where a white suburban neighborhood erupted in violence after an African-American family moved in.</p><p>It's almost embarrassing to imagine that Clooney, Heslov, and others would think these two plot elements could work seamlessly in one movie.</p><p>Matt Damon plays the father, Gardner. Julianne Moore plays his wife and also her sister, Margaret. Gardner's wife dies during the home invasion and it is soon revealed that it was Gardner who was involved in planning the invasion so he can ship his son to boarding school and run off to Aruba with Margaret. While all of this is going on, the African-American family living in the town&#xa0;are dealing with continued racist behavior from everyone in the neighborhood.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5979edecb50ab12a008b497a-1085/suburbicon%20paramount%20pictures%20final.jpg" alt="Suburbicon Paramount Pictures final" data-mce-source="Paramount Pictures"><p class="source"><span>Paramount Pictures</span></p><p class="caption">Julianne Moore and Matt Damon cannot save "Suburbicon."</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>Beyond the fact that everything going on in the Gardner family plot of the movie is unoriginal, there is very little time given to the plight of the African-American family. Outside of a scene here and there of white angry men yelling at the family from the sidewalk and neighboring yards, there's no scenes with dialogue of the family dealing with the harassment. It's all done through the brief interaction between the sons of each family.<p>There are a few parts of the movie that seem to have a Coen brothers feel, from the opening scene that reveals the racial tension in the neighborhood to a shifty insurance investigator played by Oscar Isaac, but the movie, outside of being very violent, doesn't have the bite of a Coen story. It's also a far cry from the originality or style that Clooney has given us in previous directing work like "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and "Good Night, and Good Luck."</p><p>Damon and Moore work hard with the material given, trying desperately to make a few comic moments hit the mark. But mostly they are stuck with really lousy material.</p><p>I can't really say I'm even curious what the Coens' script on its own would have looked like because the kidnapping aspect of the plot in "Suburbicon" is so close to what happens in "Fargo," the Coens-directed 1996 classic. I just can't believe no one went to Clooney at the script stage and told him he was dancing very closely to what one of the Coen brothers' classics already did. And why the Coens would write something so similar to what they did in "Fargo."
