We assume that many of those who earn a lot may want to own cattle, but have no place to keep them where they live. They can make use of this facility,” Haryana Agriculture Minister <keyword id="329908" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Om-Prakash-Dhankar">Om Prakash Dhankar</keyword> told the <a href="https://www.thehindubusinessline.com/economy/haryana-cows-to-get-pg-accommodation/article23357857.ece?homepage=true">Hindu BusinessLine</a>. The project is in its planning stage but essentially the government will set up dairies and in these dairies, they plan to have a space earmarked for the esteemed paying guests. Here they will be fed, taken care of and if the owner wishes, he or she can also monitor the cow's well being. "An Italian company recently came out with a device costing ₹6,000, which when tied around the neck of the animal, would be able to monitor how much feed the animal has taken and how much milk it has given,” Dhankar said. All this comes at a cost, of course, and owners will have to pay for the shelter, caretakers and fodder. Owners can also opt to collect the milk the cow has given for their own consumption or sell it directly to the dairy. “On weekends, the owners can visit their cattle for doing pujas,” Dhankar added. As is obvious, the government of Haryana has taken quite a few measures to ensure cow safety and prosperity. On March 5th, the chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chandigarh/haryana-will-enact-law-to-punish-those-abandoning-cows/articleshow/63165381.cms">declared</a> that the government will take strict action against owners who abandon their milch cows. "The government has tagged cattle in the gaushalas as it would help in knowing their location. Tagging of cattle kept in the houses would also be carried out so that these are not abandoned in any situation," Khattar said. The government has already enacted the<a href="http://pashudhanharyana.gov.in/sites/default/files/documents/The_Haryana_Gauvansh_Sanrakshan_and_gausamvardhan_act_2015_-_Eng.PDF"> "Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan" Act</a> for the protection of cows. And of course, there is the Haryana Gau Seva Panel that has been entrusted with the preservation and welfare of cows. But perhaps it would be worth noting that while the Gau Seva Panel has 16 members, the Haryana <a href="https://thewire.in/government/no-one-hear-human-rights-complaints-haryana-cm-keeps-top-posts-vacant">Human Rights Commission has zero members and more than 2,205 cases pending</a>.

Haryana government is planning PG-like accommodations for cows

The Election Commission (EC) is likely to announce polling dates for Haryana on September 19. The term of current assembly elected in 2014 will expire on 2 November 2019. In the previous elections in 2014, Manohar Lal Khattar of the BJP became Chief Minister after his party won 47 of the 90 seats in the state, getting a clear majority. Notably, Khattar was the first non-jat chief minister of the state in 18 years. The Indian National Lok Dal won 19 seats, while the incumbent Congress won only 15. The BJP hopes to retain power in the state this time too, but it is facing anti-incumbency. However, a fractured opposition that consists of the Congress and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) could benefit the BJP. In 2014, the polling schedule for Maharashtra and Haryana was announced on September 20. Polling in both the states took place in a single phase on October 15. Results were announced on October 19. The term of current assembly elected in 2014 will expire on 2 November 2019. These state assembly elections will be the first after the Lok sabha Polls of 2019. They will also be the first after the abrogation of Article 370. These polls will serve as a litmus test for the BJP government amidst reports of acute economic slowdown.

The second merit list is expected to be released on 26 July 2019 and the admission will commence from 29 July to 1 August. The online counselling for admissions was from 27 June to 12 July. The selected candidates will then have to go through document verification process, which will be conducted between 18-19 July and 22-23 July. The government will release four merit lists for online counselling. The merit list is based on the marks obtained in the class 10th and class 12th exams. The Department of Skill Development and Industrial Training, Haryana conducts skill based training for employment among youth of Haryana through its 167 government Industrial Training Institutes and 242 Private ITIs under Craftsman Training Scheme.

<keyword id="6354720" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ola">Ola</keyword> has signed an MoU with the government of Haryana to create over 10,000 entrepreneurs in the state. As part of the MoU, Ola will invest Rs. 350 crores over the next five years to skill and train thousands of men and women to join Ola. The partnership will also allow the online taxi hailing app to introduce its products across the state. 
 
“We are confident that our partnership with Ola will further accelerate government’s efforts of pumping the economic development of the state with a focus on skilling and creating entrepreneurial opportunities for tens of thousands of men and women across the state.”, Sudhir Rajpal, Managing Director of HSIIDC said. 
 
Pranay Jivrajka, Chief Operating Officer at Ola said, “We are planning to invest over Rs. 350 crore in Haryana over the next 5 years. We will work with the government to train and provide the right skill set to thousands of men and women across Haryana and help them take their first step towards entrepreneurship.” 
 
Ola is currently present in five cities in Haryana including Gurgaon, Faridabad, Panchkula, Kurukshetra and Ambala and plans to expand its services in the region further.

Ola looking to invest Rs. 350 crores in Haryana

Son-in-law of Congress party’s President <keyword id="689" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Sonia-Gandhi">Sonia Gandhi</keyword>, <keyword id="12593" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Robert-Vadra">Robert Vadra</keyword>, may get into trouble as <keyword id="58687" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Bharatiya-Janata-Party">Bharatiya Janata Party</keyword> (BJP)-led <keyword id="74452" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Haryana-government">Haryana Government</keyword> will soon set up a panel to probe his land deals in the state. 
 
The state government is in final stages of setting up the panel, which is likely to be headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice Swatanter Kumar. 
 
BJP’s Haryana in-charge and national general secretary Anil Jain said the commission is in formative stage. 
 
"We are surely going ahead with forming a commission to look into all the land deals, if we spot any aberration, the panel will look into it. Right now the commission is in the formative stage," said Jain. 
 
Former Haryana Chief Minister B.S. Hooda, who is also named by the BJP, said there was nothing illegal in Vadra deals. 
Congress party also came out to support Vadra. 
 
"These kinds of tactics won't work on us. If there is truth to it let them bring it out, why make statements?" said senior Congress party leader Mallikarjun Kharge. 
 
Party spokesperson P.C. Chacko played down the panel, saying there was nothing new in the charges levelled by the government. 
 
However, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij was confident about the probe initiated against "Rahul Gandhi's suited-booted brother-in-law". 
 
"When will it happen, who will do it, only CM Khattar will take a call on it," Vij said. 
 
In March, CAG had said that the previous Hooda government had granted undue favours to builders, including Vadra's firm, Skylight Hospitality. 
 
Congress party has insisted the CAG report has neither indicted the former Congress government of Haryana or Vadra or his Skylight Hospitality Private Limited for any violation of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975, or any rules or policy. 
 Skylight Hospitality sold a prime 3.5 acre piece of land in Manesar in Gurgaon district to <keyword id="6362997" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="DLF">DLF</keyword> in 2008 for Rs 58 crore. The land had, however, only cost his company 
around Rs 15 crore and was sold to DLF after obtaining change of land use and other permissions. 
 Vadra is a flamboyant businessman who married Sonia Gandhi’s daughter <keyword id="12587" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Priyanka-Gandhi">Priyanka Gandhi</keyword> in 1997.

The tenure of the state government in Haryana ends on November 2, 2019. The Election Commission has announced that the state will go for assembly elections in October 2019. Hence all the 70 seats of the state will go for elections on the same day. Talking to the press in New Delhi, the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced the dates of Haryana state elections on Saturday, September 21, 2019. The gazette notification about the state assembly elections in Haryana will be published on Friday, September 27, 2019. The candidates eager to contest in the said elections must file their nominations before Friday, October 4, 2019. The election commission will scrutinize the applications and the nominations will be approved or disapproved on Monday, October 5, 2019. Monday, October 7, 2019 will be the last date for the candidates to withdraw their nominations if they wish to do so. The state will go for polling for the state elections on Monday, October 21, 2019. The votes will be counted on Thursday, October 24, 2019. The model code of conduct for the contesting parties and independent candidates has already come into effect with the announcement of the election dates by the election commissioner of India. The state assembly of Haryana has 70 seats in total. All the seats will go for polling on the same day on Monday, October 21, 2019. In 2014 assembly elections, the BJP had won 47 seats and gave away only 15 seats to the Congress Party. The 2019 assembly elections in the state is eagerly sought after as this is the first assembly elections after the Modi government came to power in the center for the second term in succession.
