Programming is the art of telling a computer what to do through a set of instructions. Those instructions are written in a computer's language, or code. We use computers constantly—be it for something as simple as killing the alarm clock or texting a friend. “Our aim is to create an open hardware platform to help developers, designers, and researchers build the next generation of tangible programming experiences for kids,” said Google in a statement.<br />
<br /> Project Bloks is preceded and moulded by a long history of research: from Friedrich Froebel, <keyword id="331302" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maria-Montessori">Maria Montessori</keyword>, Jean Piaget's pioneering work in the range of learning by experience, exploration, and manipulation to the research started in the 70s by Seymour Papert and Radia Perlman with Robot Logo, TORTIS, and everything in between.<br />

<strong>What does it look like?</strong><br />

So what does the platform really look like? There are fundamentally three parts that make up the Bloks system. At the heart of everything is the purported "Brain Board," a small Raspberry Pi Zero-based board that functions as the central processing unit and gives power to whatever is left of the system.<br />
<br />
The Brain Board then converses with the "Pucks" and "Base Board," that together make up the physical programming language of Project Bloks.<br />

<strong>How does it work?</strong><br />
<br />
Base Board examines the instructions from the Pucks and pass them on to the primary Brain Board. They are essentially the channel to move instructions from the diverse parts of the program to the brain. Base Board highlights haptic motors and a LED so users can get continuous input. The Base Board can likewise be used to play audio.<br />
<br />
Project Bloks isn't the first, or only, way to approach using tangibles to teach programming abilities to kids. It takes its inspiration from numerous different projects. We anticipate that Project Bloks will be considerably more advanced and integrated when it arrives.

"We don't have a discussion, we just get things done," she said in a phone interview with Business Insider. Blok is now the creative director at <a href="https://www.shopcurbside.com/">Curbside</a>, a company that lets you order goods through a mobile app and pick them up in person without having to leave your car. "I think it's a very easy transition because Google is so unstructured," Blok said. Even though the transition was easy, the workflow is much different, says Blok, who has also previously worked at Adobe and Yahoo too. "You're not really responsible for the whole thing, you're part of something," she said. The biggest challenge for her when starting her own company from scratch was the fact that most of her experience came from technology, not business, so she had to learn about all of the aspects involved in creating a company such as team building, financing, and more. "There are new experiences that many of us first-time entrepreneurs go through," she told Business Insider in an interview. "The fact that I didn't have entrepreneurial experience didn't deter me from doing this. Adams also said it's a lot easier to get things done in a smaller company. "You just have more autonomy," Adams said in an interview with Business Insider. At Intercom, Adams says his team can release new features to customers every single week, whereas that would be considered a huge project at Facebook or Google. "We can just be more flexible and adaptive," he said. What it's like to leave Google for a startup - as told by three people who did just that

The real story behind Android's little green robot mascot 

<p class="p1">Irina Blok was a designer at Google who gets little recognition for her former team's now-famous creation: the green <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> robot logo. <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/13/magazine/who-made-that-android-logo.html">She told The New York Times how it was created.</a></p>
<p class="p1">Three years ago, Google told Blok to create a symbol for the company's mobile devices that would resonate with people. Google wanted it to include a robot.</p>
<p class="p1">Blok's inspiration came from a interesting, clever place: bathroom doors. The outlines of men and women have become universally recognized, so she mimicked the design for Android.</p>
<p class="p1">She ended up with a simple green figure with antennas on top. Her team decided to open source the logo, so others could dress up the green creation any way they wanted.</p>
