Aviation regulator <keyword id="6354787" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dgca" source="Orion">DGCA</keyword> on Friday said it has approved <keyword id="11252024" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="go-first" source="Orion">Go First</keyword>'s plan to restart operations with 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights, subject to certain conditions. Budget carrier Go First, which stopped flying on May 3, is undergoing an insolvency resolution process. In a release, the <keyword id="6354705" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="directorate-general-of-civil-aviation" source="Orion">Directorate General of Civil Aviation</keyword> (DGCA) said the airline's resumption plan for operating 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights has been reviewed and accepted. "The acceptance is subject to the outcome of the writ petitions/ applications pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi &amp; Hon'ble <keyword id="6355809" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nclt" source="Orion">NCLT</keyword>, Delhi," it said. Go First may resume scheduled flight operations on the availability of interim funding and approval of flights scheduled by DGCA, the release said. Further, the regulator has directed Go First to ensure compliance with all the applicable regulatory requirements and the continued airworthiness of the aircraft engaged in operations. The airline's Resolution Professional (RP) submitted the resumption plan to DGCA on June 28, and subsequently, the regulator conducted a special audit of the carrier's facilities in Mumbai and Delhi. "DGCA has ensured that the findings of the special audit have been adequately addressed by Go First," the release said, adding that the resumption plan was amended on July 15. Earlier, the airlines had cancelled flights till May 26. In a note posted on Twitter on Friday, the airline said, "We regret to inform that due to operational reasons, <keyword id="11937496" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="go-first-flights" source="Orion">Go First flights</keyword> scheduled till May 28, 2023, have been cancelled. We apologise for the convenience caused by the flight cancellations." The airline also said a full refund will be issued to the original mode of payment shortly. The airline also said the company has filed an application for immediate resolution and revival of operations. It mentioned that it would be able to resume bookings shortly. On Tuesday, budget carrier Go First replied to the show cause notice issued by aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) where the airline mentioned that it has no definite timeline to resume operations. Civil aviation ministry officials said that airlines expressed an intent to resume operations at the earliest. "There is no definitive timeline as of now for the resumption of operations by Go First. They have expressed an intent to resume operations at the earliest thought," a senior aviation ministry official said. Earlier the regulator DGCA asked the company (Go First) to respond to the show cause notice within 15 days. The regulator had asked Go First to explain the reasons for its inability to run operations and stopped new bookings and halted the sale of tickets. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on Monday upheld the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) order which had admitted Go First Airlines' voluntary plea for insolvency. "It disposed of the lessors' petition and asked them to file an appeal before the NCLT."

For two summers in a row, she's been a day camp counselor.Spending all this time with the kids has helped her to realize that she enjoys it. It's helped her narrow down her list of possible majors, and she's pretty sure she'll <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/career-change-less-money-more-rewarding-2024-10">pursue teaching</a>. If she'd hated it, that would be OK, too. She's looking to buy a car, which she couldn't have afforded if she'd gone straight to college.She has also had quality time with lots of us in the family. She meets up with her younger brother during his lunch period on Fridays. She and I hike one morning a week. She stays up to hang out with her dad when the rest of us are fast asleep. She has <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/one-on-one-time-children-mother-daughter-relationship-2023-11">one-on-one time</a> with us that she wouldn't get if she'd gone away to school.She also took her first solo airplane trip to visit her grandparents last fall. Beyond simply navigating the airport and hopping on a plane, she got to deal with a flight delay and eventual cancellation on the way home. But would appearing to be in a different country result in cheaper airfare?We tested the premise against five of the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/deals/best-vpn-deals">best VPNs</a>, and the results are pretty unequivocal: Flights aren't cheaper when you shop through a VPN.<h2>How we checked flight prices with a VPN</h2>We picked two popular routes in the United States at two popular travel times, using Google Flights to look up prices. We first searched flight prices via a regular connection to an Internet service provider in the US. Then we switched to a VPN, using five of the most popular services, and repeated the searches while appearing to be in a different country. Using several VPNs did not result in a single cent of difference in our test. But that does not mean that there aren't ways to find cheaper airfare. It just takes some flexibility. <h2>Travel hacks for cheaper flights</h2><h3>Travel mid-week</h3>For example, you can look for flights in the middle of the week, when fewer businesspeople travel and demand is often lower. Studies show the cheapest day to fly is Wednesday, and the most expensive Sunday. <h3>Avoid last-minute travel</h3>Booking in advance is a good idea, although you don't have to buy tickets months before flying.Try to book at least 21 days before departure; prices rarely go down after that window. <h3>Consider traveling from a different airport</h3>If you are based somewhere with access to multiple airports, you can also expand your search to more than one airport. Google Flights makes this easy by allowing you to search for flights from a given city rather than a single airport. If you look up flights from New York City, for example, the site will show results including all three main airports — JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark. Prices can differ significantly among them. <h2>What influences the price of flights?</h2>There are still misconceptions about some other hacks that can get you cheaper airfare. Unfortunately, they don't work, and here's why. <h3>Using your browser in incognito mode</h3>Websites track your online habits, so why wouldn't airlines tailor their prices to what they know about you? Airfare indeed fluctuates, but it does so according to factors that have nothing to do with your digital identity. Pricing is determined by algorithms based largely on demand. You won't defeat those algorithms by masking your identity with incognito mode, any more than you would by masking your location with a VPN. <h3>Booking on Tuesdays </h3>There's an old adage that booking on a Tuesday gives you lower prices. This may have been true when airlines loaded prices manually onto electronic systems, but pricing changes in real time these days. what day you fly, not on what day you book. Google Flights recently reported on the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cheapest-time-to-book-flights-thanksgiving-christmas-holidays-2024-10">cheapest time to book flights for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays</a>. While flights really are cheapest on Tuesdays, according to historical data, they have only been 1.3% cheaper than tickets booked on Sundays — the most expensive day of the week for buying airfare. <h3>Some websites offer special rates or "secret" deals </h3>Online travel agencies (OTAs) like Expedia and its several competitors can sometimes find cheaper flights than you'll find directly from the airline, but you can see all of these rates via Google Flights. If an OTA has a lower price than the airline's own, it will be displayed in the search results. <h2>VPNs: When they're useful</h2>While a VPN can't reliably help you book cheaper flights, having one can protect your digital privacy and security, especially when you travel. VPNs allow you to get online through a private, secure server connection that makes your internet activity far more difficult to trace. They can also allow you to stream shows from other countries and access international websites from anywhere in the world.You can often find the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/deals/best-vpn-deals">best VPN deals</a> on longer-term plans, typically by subscribing for a year or longer. Many companies also offer free trials so you can test out the service before you commit.

Go First chief Kaushik Khona has told employees that the airline has been crippled by recurring <keyword id="382682" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pratt-Whitney" source="Orion">Pratt &amp; Whitney</keyword> engine troubles and assured that the carrier is doing everything possible to navigate the situation with utmost care and concern for all staff. The no-frills carrier has filed an application for voluntary insolvency proceedings and has also cancelled all its flights for three days starting Wednesday. In a message to employees late on Tuesday, Khona said that a terrible crisis has been created by Pratt &amp; Whitney's failure to <keyword id="15312689" type="TOPIC" weightage="60" keywordseo="Supply" source="TOPIC" sourcekeytype="economy,investopedia" meta.keywordsubtype="null" meta.msid="93027566" meta.seopath="s/supply" meta.entityname="Supply" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="supply">supply</keyword> engines. For more than 12 months, the airline's management has tried their level best to convince P&amp;W to provide spare engines, repair engines. However, P&amp;W has been stonewalling the discussions, the CEO said, adding that it moved Emergency Arbitration in Singapore. According to the airline, the arbitrator ordered P&amp;W to supply at least 10 serviceable spare leased engines by April 27 and a further 10 spare leased engines per month until December 2023. "With that, the airline would have had all its A320 neo aircraft operational by August/ September 2023... unfortunately, Pratt &amp; Whitney has chosen to defy the order from the Emergency Arbitrator," Khona said in the message. The airline approached the arbitrator, who reinforced the order and since P&amp;W "chose to defy for the second time", it filed enforcement proceedings at a US court seeking implementation of the order, he added. More than half of the airline's fleet is grounded due to engine issues. Against this backdrop, Khona said there was no other option other than seeking voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings to preserve the company's operations by taking effective steps. Addressing the employees as "Go Getters", the CEO said, "we want to reassure you that we are doing everything possible to navigate this situation with the utmost care and concern for all employees". "I am hopeful that once the application under section 10 of IBC for interim relief is considered, we will be in a better position to update you with a further action plan, as and when we receive orders from NCLT," he added.
