If I cannot elicit an emotion from the people I cater to, then my product is not going to work how wonderful it may be."<br /><br />When asked if he is critical of his work sometimes, Shah Rukh candidly admitted, "Yes, I am. I hate feeling this way, and I cry a lot in my bathroom. I don't show it to anyone. You must believe that the world is not against you. If your film did go wrong, it's not because of you or some conspiracy. You have to accept that you made it badly, and then you have to move on."<br /><br />He also emphasised how one should be focused on learning how to move on from failures. <br /><br />"There are moments of despair but there are moments which say, 'shut up, get up and get on with it'. You have to do it because the world is not against you. You should not believe that things are going wrong only for you. Life moves on. Life does what it does. You cannot start blaming life for what it does," he added.<br /><br />After taking break from the films for over four years, SRK returned to the silver screen with Siddharth Anand's '<keyword id="19897075" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pathaan" source="keywords">Pathaan</keyword>' in January 2023. "The 'Make in India' initiative has seen a large number of small industrial units come up, and under this Gujarat has received close to Rs 85,132 crore of investment under 'Make in India'. Gujarat is next only to Maharashtra in the number of IEMs (industrial entrepreneurial memorandums) and next only to Karnataka in the amount of investment," an official told ET.<br />

Another official said that 100% FDI is permissible in the chemicals sector in India and manufacturing of most chemical products is de-licensed in Gujarat. "This is helping us attract a lot of companies in the chemicals and petrochemicals sector," he said.<br />
<br />
"Gujarat has received 22 licences out of 121 for defence equipment manufacturing in the past 18 months - the highest in India. Also, the country's first aviation park is to come up in Gujarat to serve as a one-stop destination for aerospace," he further added.<br />

An alarming slowdown in global trade shows Trump's tariff war is having a devastating impact

The Indian Institute of Technology (<keyword id="6354859" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="iit" source="Orion">IIT</keyword>) <keyword id="6357478" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kanpur" source="Orion">Kanpur</keyword> has made a significant contribution to the field of transportation with its innovative compressed air-based pipeline system for coal and mineral transportation.<br /><br />Developed by <keyword id="16491040" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="prof-bishakh-bhattacharya" source="Orion">Prof Bishakh Bhattacharya</keyword> and research scientists Kanhaiya Lal Chaurasia and <keyword id="16491039" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="yashasvi-sinha" source="Orion">Yashasvi Sinha</keyword> of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, <keyword id="108320" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="iit-kanpur" source="Orion">IIT Kanpur</keyword>, the system promises to revolutionise the way coal and minerals are transported.<br /><br />According to an official release, the traditional mode of transportation has always been a challenge, with issues like material loss, uncertainty in delivery time, and air pollution.<br /><br />The new cargo-based hyperloop system addresses these challenges effectively and promises to reduce air pollution, material loss, and travel time significantly.<br /><br />Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Director IIT Kanpur, said, "This system is a game-changer in the field of transportation. With its dual advantage of reduced energy consumption and simultaneous pipeline monitoring, this technology will greatly improve production and productivity from underground and open-cast mining. The reduced number of trucks and railway wagons will also reduce the pressure on congested freight-carrying tracks and roadways."<br /><br />The system is designed to transport coal or slurry from one point to another with compressed air as its energy source. The robot travels at approximately 120 km/hr and can transport the loaded block to the designated receiving/unloading sub-section continuously. This will be a continuous process, and there could be more than one robotic vehicle operating in series depending on the workload and requirement.<br /><br />Even parallel pipeline loops can increase transportation efficiency significantly. Each module of the vehicle is connected to the adjacent modules through ball and socket joint. This provides connectivity as well as manoeuvrability to the system which enables the robot to pass through complex bends present in the pipeline network.<br /><br />The system also has an accurate, reliable, and continuous vehicle/robot positioning system. IIT-K unveils innovative compressed-air pipeline system for coal, mineral transportation

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><ul class="summary-list"><li><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/category/fedex">FedEx</a> and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/category/huawei" data-e2e-name="category-link">Huawei</a> have been embroiled in a transpacific spat, as FedEx has failed to deliver several Huawei packages <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/exclusive-huawei-reviewing-fedex-relationship-says-packages-diverted-2019-5">in May</a> and June.</li><li>FedEx CEO Fred Smith said this wasn't due to any "nefarious activity," but China is <a href="https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/china-considers-blacklisting-fedex-after-huawei-delivery-errors-1.1278051#_gus&amp;_gucid=&amp;_gup=twitter&amp;_gsc=Awymhil">reportedly considering</a> blacklisting FedEx from doing business in the country.</li><li>On Monday, FedEx said it is suing the US Department of Commerce over trade rules that say the global shipping company must investigate all 15 million packages it moves daily - a task it calls "virtually impossible."</li><li>The threat and federal lawsuit are happening as FedEx grapples with internal financial problems.</li><li><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/">Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories</a>.</li></ul><p>A weeks-long, transpacific spat between FedEx and Huawei, fueled by the US-China trade war, is becoming increasingly fraught.</p><p><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/exclusive-huawei-reviewing-fedex-relationship-says-packages-diverted-2019-5">In late May,</a> FedEx failed to deliver several Huawei parcels through Asia. That prompted the Chinese government to <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-huawei-tech-fedex-china-probe/chinas-fedex-probe-should-not-be-seen-as-retaliation-xinhua-idUSKCN1TH09R">start an investigation</a> into the global package giant, which moves some 15 million parcels per day in more than 220 countries and territories. FedEx's stock <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/fedex-stock-sinks-to-3-year-low-hurt-by-china-trade-war-fallout-2019-06-03">quickly sank to a three-year low</a>.</p><p>FedEx CEO Fred Smith denied that was a purposeful jab against China or Huawei, but the issue re-emerged a few weeks later. On June 21, a PC Mag reporter tweeted that a coworker attempted to FedEx a Huawei phone from the UK to the US.</p><p>It was never delivered.</p><p>"The package in question was mistakenly returned to the shipper, and we apologize for this operational error," FedEx said in a statement concerning that returned shipment.</p><p>Huawei was not convinced. In a tweet on Sunday, the Chinese electronics giant <a href="https://twitter.com/HuaweiFacts/status/1142749139978997764">claimed FedEx has a "vendetta" against Huawei.</a></p><p>Amid all of this, authorities in China are close to completing the preparations needed to place FedEx on a list that would restrict it from operating in the country, people familiar with the matter <a href="https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/china-considers-blacklisting-fedex-after-huawei-delivery-errors-1.1278051#_gus&amp;_gucid=&amp;_gup=twitter&amp;_gsc=Awymhil">told Bloomberg</a>. Senior leaders would need to approve the ousting.</p><p>"FedEx is a global commerce icon, if you will, so they sometimes get used by our government as well as other governments as a platform to publicize an issue or promote a cause," Donald Broughton, founder and manager partner of Broughton Capital, told Business Insider.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>Now, as investors worry about <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/fedex-stock-is-slumping-on-disappointing-guidance-51545234249?mod=article_inline&amp;mod=article_inline&amp;mod=article_inline&amp;mod=article_inline">the company's slumping stock</a>, FedEx is taking matters into its own hands.</p><p>On Monday, the shipping company <a href="https://f.datasrvr.com/fr1/519/97413/FedEx_v_Dept._of_Commerce_Complaint.pdf">filed a lawsuit</a> against the US Department of Commerce over trade rules that require FedEx to inspect each parcel to ensure no goods violate the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/huawei-cuts-orders-to-suppliers-following-us-trade-blacklist-2019-6?r=US&amp;IR=T?utm_source=markets&amp;utm_medium=ingest">Trump administration's blacklist of Chinese firms</a>, among other trade bans. FedEx <a href="https://f.datasrvr.com/fr1/519/97413/FedEx_v_Dept._of_Commerce_Complaint.pdf">said in the lawsuit</a> such an inspection would be "virtually impossible" to execute.</p><p>"FedEx values our business in China," the company said in a statement sent to Business Insider. "Our relationship with Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and our relationships with all of our customers in China are important to us. FedEx holds itself to a very high standard of service. FedEx will fully cooperate with any regulatory investigation into how we serve our customers."</p><h2>The Chinese government's blacklist would be a 'game changer' for FedEx's investors</h2><p><a href="https://gullanecapitalpartners.com/team/trip-miller/">Trip Miller</a>, founder and managing partner of Gullane Capital, said FedEx being placed on the Chinese blacklist, while not certain, would be problematic for the Memphis-based package giant. FedEx is already showing signs of financial distress, including <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/fedex-slashes-prices-to-fill-its-planes-11561332244?shareToken=st319a8f75603b4f66be9f38e3377f5278">reported moves to cut FedEx Express air cargo rates</a>, a buyout plan estimated to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/fedex-employee-buyout-program-2018-12">save up to $275 million</a>, and <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/article/4270738-make-fedexs-disappointing-dividend-news">a dividend freeze</a>.</p><p>"That would be game changer for all of us as investors in the company," Miller told Business Insider. Broughton said Asia-Pacific as a whole is a high-margin market. (FedEx does not publicly break out its business by country, but its 2018 annual report <a href="http://investors.fedex.com/financial-information/annual-reports/default.aspx">shows that</a> 54% of its package revenue comes from outside the US.)</p><p>High margins are becoming crucial at FedEx Express, where package volumes are ever-increasing but margins aren't. The Memphis-based logistics giant said <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/filing/4543652">in its most recent quarterly report</a>&#xa0;that the amount of total average daily packages have increased by 5% year-over-year, but revenue per package dropped by 3%.</p><p>"<span>At FedEx Express, macroeconomic weakness and trade uncertainty, continued mix shift to lower-yielding services and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/fedex-amazon-one-day-delivery-2019-6">a strategic decision to not renew a customer contract</a> will negatively impact operating income," the quarterly report <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/filing/4543652">said</a>.</span></p><p>Huawei did not respond to Business Insider's request for a comment.</p><h2>It's not FedEx's 'first rodeo' when it comes to negotiating the public policy sphere</h2><p>Smith, the long-time CEO and founder of FedEx, is highly experienced when it comes to influencing public policy. From accelerating FedEx's growth in the 1970s <a href="https://parcelindustry.com/article-5131-De-Regulation-of-the-Airline-Industry-FedEx-and-Last-Mile-Delivery.html">by pushing for airline deregulation</a> to blocking organized labor reforms <a href="https://nypost.com/2009/07/16/obamas-next-labor-of-labor-love/">in 2009</a>, "Fred Smith is anything but a naive newbie to the political process," Broughton said. "This isn't his first rodeo."</p><p>And now, Smith is grappling with the latest government leadership in his 48 years at the helm of FedEx.</p><p>FedEx's lawsuit against the Department of Commerce points to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) that prohibit parties from shipping items subject to export restrictions. This has landed FedEx in the middle of the debacle between the US government and Huawei, but the laws have been a challenge for FedEx for years.</p><p>According to the lawsuit, FedEx had to pay $500,000 in civil penalties for exporting unnamed goods worth $58,091 to France, Pakistan, and elsewhere in violation of EAR. Violating EAR can be punishable by up to $1 million in criminal penalties.</p><p>"The credible threat of civil and criminal liability places FedEx between a rock and a hard place-absent the availability of review, FedEx must either forgo lawful activity because of its well-founded fear of prosecution, or willfully violate the Export Controls, thereby subjecting itself to criminal prosecution and punishment," FedEx wrote <a href="https://f.datasrvr.com/fr1/519/97413/FedEx_v_Dept._of_Commerce_Complaint.pdf">in the case</a> filed in the US District Court for the District of Colombia.</p><p>FedEx concluded in a statement that it is a <keyword id="34991" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="transportation">transportation</keyword> company, not a police force.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>"FedEx is trying to make a point here that it's not reasonable to expect them to require them to know what's in every single package," Broughton said. "They are not responsible for becoming the US export-import police, they're not responsible for taking over large amounts of the federal government's responsibility, and not responsible for taking on those costs.
