The company said it is looking to spread its presence in at least 50 countries over the next few years, and has set aside USD 10 million, of the over Rs 100 crore revenue it delivered in FY24, to fuel the international growth. "This (expansion into Sri Lanka) isn't merely about growth, it's about unlocking the full potential of drone technology to create substantial impacts across various sectors. Sri Lanka's diverse landscape allows us to showcase how our innovative solutions can bring tangible benefits, from agriculture to infrastructure," said Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace. Garuda Aerospace, which produces small and medium category drones, had partnered with Greek manufacturer Spirit Aeronautical Systems early this year. Garuda Aerospace enters Sri Lankan market

Bengaluru, Drone manufacturer <keyword id="4610420" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Garuda-Aerospace" source="Orion">Garuda Aerospace</keyword> said on Tuesday it has secured an order of 400 Agri Kisan Drones from Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (<keyword id="74204" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="iffco" source="Orion">IFFCO</keyword>). This takes Garuda <keyword id="84758" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aerospace" source="Orion">Aerospace</keyword>'s order book tally to 10,000 drones for this year within the first three months, it said in a statement. "The collaboration between Garuda Aerospace and IFFCO aims to revolutionise the agricultural sector by introducing the Garuda Kisan Drone at the 'IFFCO Drone Yatra' in Karnataka. These state-of-the-art drones will enable farmers to utilise Nano Urea spraying through Precision Agriculture Drones, maximising their efficiency and productivity," it said. According to the statement, IFFCO has launched a nationwide campaign to procure 2,500 'Kisan Drones' as spray solutions for their products -- Nano Urea and Nano DAP. This initiative not only supports the development of around 5,000 rural entrepreneurs trained in drone spraying but also promotes sustainable agriculture and holistic cooperative development, it said.

MS Dhoni-backed drone firm Garuda Aerospace launches farmers-focused film

According to Garuda Aerospace, the funding round was led by <keyword id="6357097" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="venture-capital" source="Orion">Venture Capital</keyword> firm <keyword id="15395438" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="sphiticap" source="Orion">SphitiCap</keyword> which invested $12 million along with participation from other global investors, angel investors and high net worth individuals (<keyword id="50379" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hni" source="Orion">HNI</keyword>) at $5 million. Another $5 million in funding from an infra-development company, a group of HNIs and angel investors from <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, <keyword id="6358356" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="uae" source="Orion">UAE</keyword> and Singapore was secured by the startup earlier. According to Garuda Aerospace, the DGC Type Certification is provided on the basis of the quality check of the drones and is issued after a rigorous testing process for the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The Type certification was introduced by the Indian government in August 2021 under Drone Rules. Following the Type Certification for the GA-AG model, Garuda Kisan Drone - priced at Rs.4.50 lakh- is now eligible for Rs.10 lakh unsecured loan from Agri Infrastructure Fund at five per cent and 50-100 per cent subsidy from the Government of India. Drone-as-a-Service (DAAS) provider Garuda Aerospace will soon start spraying anti-locust pesticide in several parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Noida near Delhi, said a top company official. "We have got the order to deploy five drones for anti-locust operations from <keyword id="9479061" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="banda-university-of-agriculture-technology">Banda University of Agriculture &amp; Technology</keyword>, Uttar Pradesh. We will be sending 10 pilots for operating the drones. The mandate is to deploy the drones for a total of 50 hours at the locations specified by the University," Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Managing Director of city-based Garuda Aerospace, told IANS. He said the company has already deployed its drones in Rajasthan in <keyword id="9446117" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="locust-control-operations">locust control operations</keyword>. "This is the first time drones are being used in locust control measures in India. It is a new case scenario," Jayaprakash said. According to him, there are two methods of spraying the pesticide -- one by flying above the swarm of locust and spraying on them and the other is to spray the pesticide beforehand on the areas where the locusts are expected to land. He said the state government agencies predict the flight path of the locust and give us one/two days notices on the location where the drones are to be used. Sometimes the notice is very short. Jayaprakash said the locust hit percentage is about 70 per cent as per the state government officials. "Unlike bees that attack an adversary, locusts swarm does not attack drones. Perhaps they see it as a big bird, their enemy and avoid. Their main purpose is to eat, procreate and fly," Jayaprakash said. According to him, the Banda University order will be executed in three/four days as the total 50 hours of flying can be completed by the five drones in that time. "The five drones will be flown by air on Monday," he added. Garuda Aerospace has been carrying out drone based anti-coronavirus sanitation orders from several municipal corporations and smart cities like <keyword id="6357203" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Varanasi">Varanasi</keyword>, Rourkela, Raipur, Chennai and Hyderabad. "While the government contracts for anti-coronavirus sanitation orders have been completed, the corporate sector has started using our services. And now the orders are for locust control operations," Jayaprakash added. According to him, the Covid-19 pandemic and locust attack has increased the focus on drones and their use. Apart from spraying anti-coronavirus disinfectants, drones were used by police in Tamil Nadu to monitor the lockdown violators. Jayaprakash said Garuda Aerospace has manufactured and serviced drones for several government departments in Tamil Nadu, like forests, electricity, police, mining, agriculture, Indian Coast Guard and others. "Already drones are being used for spraying pesticides, weedicides and liquid fertiliser on farms and is also used for monitoring of pipelines and surveillance and now for locust control operations," Leo Peter Charles, Managing Director, Jane Aerospace Private Ltd told IANS. Jane Aerospace is into consulting, marketing, sales and provision of skilled manpower support for drone operating companies. Agreeing with Jayaprakash, Charles said there will be more interest on drones from different agencies. "The challenge for the drone makers is importing critical components from China given the current border tussle," Charles said. Jayaprakash said there are other markets wherefrom the critical components can be imported and China is not the sole market place. The only advantage China offers is the price, but there is also the issue of quality. Meanwhile, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has set up a nine member working group to suggest suitable insurance cover for drones as their numbers are on the rise. In a statement to IANS, a PokerBaazi spokesperson said that "we would like to clarify that there is no data breach and our server did not expose any real data pertaining to users". "This was a testing done at the dummy stage with logs of dummy users to further develop our platform. These dummy accounts/users are used by our internal testers and developers," said the spokesperson. Sen had also tweeted that India's PokerBaazi site suffered a major security lapse. "Even after multiple attempts to contact. No reply so far. Among the major cities in India, Delhi-NCR led the pack with the highest industrial and warehouse land absorption in 2022 at 16% followed by Mumbai at 14%. Pune and Bengaluru saw absorptions at 13% and 12% respectively, while tier II and tier III cities accounted for 22%, Savills shared. The sectors that drove the absorption in 2022 were 3PL and ecommerce (52%); followed by manufacturing (16%) and retail sectors (13%). Increased demand in 2023 As per Savills, the industrial and warehousing market in India witnessed transactions of 3,800 plus acres of land across tier I, II and III cities in 2022, of which 64% was private land and 36% was government land. The warehousing sector in India also raised private equity to the tune of $1.5 billion in 2022. The interest in the market is expected to grow further in the future. “The market is likely to witness increased interest from investors in this asset class in 2023 owing to inherent domestic demand and expansion of distribution networks in tier II and tier III cities,” Savills said in a statement. As per Savills, tier II and III cities are poised to gain further momentum in 2023 and 2024 with ecommerce, retail and 3PL firms capitalizing on consumption-driven growth and pushing up the demand for warehousing space. As per the <keyword id="2646256" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="unicommerce" source="Orion">Unicommerce</keyword> 2022 report, more than 6 out of 10 orders shipped in 2022 went to buyers in tier II cities, and orders from tier III cities have also surged 65% since 2020. “The industrial and logistics sector is likely to see absorption of over 40 mn sq. ft in 2023.
