Known for their accurate fitness tracking features and a premium price tag, the products are high-end in every sense of the word. Garmin is to fitness what Dyson is to home appliances, we know the products are great, but the prices keep the majority of the buyers away and look at alternatives. However, it’s been a go to brand for athletes and professionals globally, and with the competition in marketing increasing by the second, Garmin has taken the road less traveled. Introducing products at a comparatively lesser price bracket. Yes, comparatively because they are still expensive, but not too far to achieve. Garmin Venu 2 plus attempts to tap into customers who want to try out the Garmin experience. Customers like me who hit the gym every day and keep a tap on their routine. I, in particular, have been religiously using their Apple watch for the same till now. Hence, my review will compare my Apple watch SE 44mm with the Venu 2. So let’s jump into my comprehensive review after three weeks of usage. Price and Availability The Garmin Venu 2 plus is available only in one size - 43mm. Priced at ₹46,990, you can buy it from Garmin’s official website or Amazon India. Design &amp; Display Garmin Venu 2 Plus is the first wearable from the brand I have used. Looking at it for the first time was an underwhelming experience, strictly in aesthetics. The watch features a round dial, with no possible distinction from similar devices available in the market. Buyers spending the top dollar for a Garmin, do expect something more to differentiate. Moving past that, Venu 2 Plus redeems itself with the build quality and fit. Available only in a 43mm dial size, the smartwatch is the perfect size and should fit well for both men and women. The variant with me is in the graphite black color, which goes well with both casual and formal outfits. Female buyers can look into the cream gold color. The fit and finish of the watch is top-notch. With a decent dial size of 43mm, Garmin has managed to deliver this package in a slim profile. The result is a lighter device sitting on your wrist, which can stay around the clock. The stock nylon straps on offer are also of good quality with Garmin branding on them. I have sensitive skin, and usually, by the end of the day, my wrist starts itching because of the quality of the strap, however, that was not the case here. <div type="image" title="Garmin Venu 2 Plus sports stellar build quality" msid="92975690" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Garmin Venu 2 Plus sports stellar build quality&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The lightweight of the watch and the familiarity of a round dial helped me get past my obsession with my Apple watch. The build quality of the Venu 2 Plus’s frame is made of toughened plastic which encompasses a steel back and a Gorilla Glass 3-protected display. There is also a PVD coating around the bezel for better protection. For most proper users, these are some solid specifications; however, looking at Garmin's track record, they have held themselves back. For example - The new Garmin Fenix 7 features Corning Gorilla Glass DX; the brand skipping it on this one seems like a move to cut costs. Moving on, it is also waterproof upto 5 ATM, and the brand claims you can also wear it during swimming. While I did not take it for swimming, the watch tread past rainy days outdoors and intense gym sessions without a hiccup. <div type="image" title="Bundled straps are comfortable" msid="92975722" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Bundled straps are comfortable&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> A heads up here, though, like any other smartwatch, the back of the Venu 2 Plus begins to take scratches with prolonged use. Primarily because of sweat, water, and fine dust. The scratches are in-line with what I observe with my Apple watch; unfortunately, the color of the back makes them more prominent here. Other design characteristics include three hard press buttons on the watch's right side—each with dedicated use. In my case, a single tap on the top button is a shortcut to your favorite activities like cycling or the treadmill. A long press on the same button opens a shortcut menu to various features like settings, powers, and watch audio profile. It lets you get out of a menu. These shortcuts can be tricky to learn, especially if you are spoiled by the convenience of the crown with an Apple watch. It took me two days to learn these; however, muscle memory does its job once accustomed to them. I was initially not sold with the idea of too many buttons on a smartwatch, but we need to understand its purpose. For example, while exercising, it is more convenient just to press a button to pause or look at the metrics. And the tactile feel also adds a more dramatic effect to the experience. Although this is still a subjective issue, I, for one, have become more welcoming to them for the utility, like in this case. Before closing this section, it's also important to touch upon the display. The Venu 2 Plus features a 1.3-inch AMOLED screen with very thin bezels. The display quality is top tier, and it is well-lit, with me facing no issues looking at it under direct sunlight. It is crucial, given a watch is our go-to device for looking at notifications and, of course, time at any given location. In addition, the color reproduction is accurate, and icon notifications can be distinguished easily. It also has an always-on functionality, a must-have on any smartwatch to save battery for instances when you just want to glance at the time. The touch response of the display is also satisfactory. The watch has not missed any gesture in my two weeks of usage. Unfortunately, like most displays, be it on a smartwatch or otherwise, it does not work if you wear gloves. Something I wish smartwatch brands work on especially. A smartwatch truly is a mobile device, which should be accessible in every situation, like riding a bike with my gloves on. Yes, you must stop to look at notifications, but removing your gloves altogether defeats the purpose. While many activities on the watch can be accessed with the hard press buttons, the display works in sync. This delivers a hybrid experience, which I liked. But a good display is only as good as the user interface it projects, so let's move on to that. OS and user interface For starters, the pairing process of the watch with your smartphone is straightforward. First, you must download the Garmin Connect App and pair the watch with your dedicated device using Bluetooth. For Apple Watch users, downloading the app is one extra step, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. <div type="image" title="You get an interactive OS on the Venu 2 Plus" msid="92975765" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;You get an interactive OS on the Venu 2 Plus&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> This process remains the same on Android devices as well. Moving past that, you must create a Garmin account and feed in your data like name, age, height, body weight, and goals. So yes, the fitness side of things starts to show up early. Overall, setting up the smartwatch from scratch should not take more than 10 minutes. Once the watch is set up, you can make custom changes to your wrist or use the app for extensive modifications. Now, coming to the actual user experience. The Garmin Venu 2 Plus uses Garmins own OS, which has some solid features and some not-so-favorable add-ons. I am starting with what I liked. The OS is unique and breaks away from the mundane or minimal execution we usually see on top-tier smartwatches. Case in point-both apple watch and Google Wear OS devices. The UI is colorful and pops out without looking tacky. The balance of colors and animation is surprisingly well put and grows on you over time. The UI tends to blend minimal execution with pretty packaging successfully. Vanity on the UI is quite generic; you can customize the theme of the watch with different wallpapers, icon shapes, and shortcuts. While being a little over the top, the animations add a sense of accomplishment. My favorite is the one that pops up when you achieve your step count for the day. It shows infinite amounts of boots walking on the display, with the haptic feedback kicking in. You can also set up a customized exercise routine from the watch, which is very convenient. Sliding past your data is also easy, and the UI aids your efforts by showing the the precise information you are looking for. Garmin also provides a voice assistant on the watch, the execution of which is a bit choppy. Having been accustomed to just saying hey Siri with my Apple Watch, the step of pressing the button to activate voice assistant demanded effort. And when I did use the voice assistant, the experience was not very satisfying. To begin with, the voice assistant, in most cases, tends not to answer your voice prompt unless I unlock my phone. This is a major dud. I am not saying just in terms of quick web searches that I can do with every other top-tier smartwatch but also important activities like dialing up a number with voice prompts. While driving, I wanted to dial up a number from my wrist, which I do a lot with my Apple watch. But I couldn’t do it here without unlocking my device. Fortunately, we can pick up calls from the watch and have a conversation. So, that's a 50-50. The audio output from the watch, though, is a bit low, and I found myself switching over to my earphones more often than not. Another crucial convenience I missed with the Garmin OS was the text reply feature. I have an Apple watch SE; while it misses out on a keyboard to reply to texts, the audio dictation is mostly precise. Wear OS also provides a keyboard and audio dictation. We have none on Venu 2 Plus, so you can only look at the notifications and not reply. I understand not everyone uses their watch to respond, but it comes in handy more often than not. I hope Garmin works on it, given the hardware is already available on the watch. Another aspect I am not a big fan of is the notifications management on the watch. When you receive a notification and do not clear it right then, they tend to be held back in the bar. That means that even if you have read them and even replied to them from your phone, they will stick there. Not only this, unlike a Wear OS device or Apple Watch, you can’t clear them all with just one tap. Instead, you have to select and clear them out individually. It gets tiring after a point, and I had to turn off most notifications, except for messages and email, to avoid this situation. Another feature I didn’t use that users might find helpful is tap to pay with Garmin Pay. A covid specific OS feature that iPhone users might miss is that the Apple Watch can unlock your iPhones. It is crucial, given we all wear masks now. Overall, the Garmin OS as a package holds up pretty well and can solve the issue I mentioned with an over-the-air update. Performance This is where the Garmin Venu 2 Plus is in its element. Although a budget offering, the Venu 2 Plus delivers standard Garmin performance, for which the brand is known for. Like a standard Garmin smartwatch, you get a preset of activities loaded on the watch. So, for example, if treadmills/walks are in your schedule, it will automatically feed the data when you do it—not need you to click on an icon to begin the data entry. Similarly, the HIIT training is truly well-detailed, even showing which part of your body will most likely be sore after the routine. I have been training with the watch strapped on for more than two weeks now, and the details are fairly accurate so far. The step counter and the distance covered work perfectly fine. Calorie tracking usually shows the same data I got on my Apple watch, based on which I follow my diet chart. So that’s also good news. Touching upon the tracking and movement, the Venu 2 Plus never seems to miss the count. The data here is also precise, reflecting accurate distance and time. The watch also features a SpO2 or blood oxygen sensor in layman's terms. While they are usually not very accurate, the results were closer to my oximeter. You also get a sleep tracker on the watch, which is mostly correct but tends to confuse idle sitting around sleeping time as sleeping hours. However, it is generally accurate when the data is recorded in favorable conditions. Linked with the sleep tracker is the body battery indicator, signifying the body's capacity to move at any given time. Hardware choices on Venu 2 Plus also check the boxes. Like the internal storage of 7GB, that can be used to store music on the watch. I am not a big fan of this since I use Spotify, but I understand it's a go-to spec for folks doing hardcore training or camping without network coverage. The battery life is the strongest USP for the Venu 2 Plus. In my day-to-day usage, with 24x7 heart rate tracking and always on display, I was getting mileage of five days on the smartwatch. The number can be increased to seven days if you turn on the battery saver. It is a significant number, mainly because the device was at its peak performance throughout the week. As for the charging time took me about 1.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100%, with the proprietary charging dock we get with the smartwatch. I might be nitpicking here, but unlike the Apple Watch, which has a plethora of 3rd party charging solutions available like charging pads, Garmin Venu 2 Plus has none. While most people should not have a problem with this, the convenience of charging pads is something I would like to see on more devices. Verdict Garmin Venu 2 Plus has a clear consumer circle for which it fits well. If you are into fitness and have concrete goals that are in tandem with your lifestyle, there is no better device available at the price point. This part of my verdict implies to both Apple and Android users. But, if you are casually looking for a smartwatch and consider it a luxury expense, there are pocket-friendly alternatives in respective ecosystems. Especially for iPhone users, the convenience of the Apple ecosystem is a trump card over every smartwatch in the market today.

But true to Suunto style, it aims to function as a high-quality fitness tracker, too. With tracking compatibility for more than 70 sports, a built-in heart rate monitor, and GPS, as well as offline map support and 50 meters of water-resistance, it's built for activity. It's a cheaper alternative to the Garmin fenix and a more rugged substitute to the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-watch-series-5-vs-fitbit-versa-2-features-compared-2019-12" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Apple Watch Series 5 or Fitbit Versa 2</a>. <h2>A familiar design with a larger screen</h2>After unboxing the watch, it's clear Suunto's designers have a specific go-to style: A round watch face flanked by a distinct bezel with navigation buttons and a silicone watch band. Although the 7 wears this same Suunto-issued uniform, it's not necessarily a bad thing. The design of Suunto's watches has always leaned more toward an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach. Though the design and overall look are similar to past Suunto watches, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083BXV2JH/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=biip_081120_suunto-7-review-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B083BXV2JH&amp;linkId=17b0e64bf99cd0693f7a67a67afb92a0f99cd0693f7a67a67afb92a0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored nofollow sponsored">the 7</a> does feature a larger watch face compared to the Suunto 3 or Suunto 5. I didn't have an issue with it, but it is noticeably larger and could easily be too much for anyone with smaller wrists. <div type="image" title="IMG_5791" height="2268" width="3024" msid="77622627" hostid="261"></div>Despite that larger size, it never felt heavier than any other fitness tracker I've worn, even while on runs or during workouts. The product page lists the watch at just shy of 2.5 ounces and it's likely much of that weight is in the watch face as the silicone band feels as though it weighs next to nothing.My Suunto 7 came packaged in a large Suunto-decorated box, along with a charging cable, instruction manual, a pair of Jaybird Vista Bluetooth headphones, and an actual compass. If it wasn't already obvious that Suunto intends the 7 for active wrists, the packaging makes it even clearer.<h2>Straightforward setup and navigation</h2>Setting up the <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083BXV2JH/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=biip_081120_suunto-7-review-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B083BXV2JH&amp;linkId=17b0e64bf99cd0693f7a67a67afb92a0f99cd0693f7a67a67afb92a0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored nofollow sponsored">Suunto 7</a> is like setting up almost any other type of fitness tracker or Wear OS smartwatch. You simply pair it to your smartphone and download the companion Suunto and Wear OS apps. From here, the watch walks you through the setup process and shows you how to navigate the interface, where to access workouts, how to adjust settings, and so on. Navigating the operating system can be done in two ways: via the buttons flanking the bezel or with the touchscreen. For touch controls, swiping up brings up any notifications you haven't seen or deleted, while swiping down gives access to the watch's settings menu and Google Pay, among a couple of other features. Swiping left populates your daily stats such as active minutes and steps taken, as well as other resource pages like the daily weather or calendar events, all of which are customizable in the settings. Swiping right brings up a similar screen, though it's more of an at-a-glance feature that shows the date and day of the week and allows access to Google Assistant.<div type="image" title="IMG_5806" height="3024" width="4032" msid="77622635" hostid="261"></div>The button controls are a little more basic but represent the quickest method for accessing some key features. For instance, the button on the upper left corner of the watch serves as a home screen or back button but also brings up the settings menu when you're already on the home screen itself. The button on the upper right of the watch takes you to the activities page while the button on the lower right opens the stopwatch. Suunto does allow for some customization in terms of the apps and types of notifications you're able to receive on the watch, and you can choose from a variety of different watch faces. My review model came with the standard Heatmaps watch face that displays where other Suunto-clad users are exercising around your immediate area. <h2>A sporty and rugged smartwatch</h2>Where the <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083BXV2JH/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=biip_081120_suunto-7-review-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=B083BXV2JH&amp;linkId=17b0e64bf99cd0693f7a67a67afb92a0f99cd0693f7a67a67afb92a0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored nofollow sponsored">Suunto 7</a> truly shines are with its sport and activity tracking. Beyond basics like running, biking, or swimming, the 7 also offers tracking compatibility for mountain biking, roller skating, weight training, snowboarding, boxing, and bowling, among so many others. If it's an activity that requires even a minimal amount of movement, the watch can track it. However, it is worth pointing out that the tracking for some of these is purely just a timer for how long you're active along with a heart rate reading. In other words, it's not tracking how many digs you record while playing volleyball or how many wickets you hit playing cricket. <div type="image" title="IMG_5810" height="3024" width="4032" msid="77622639" hostid="261"></div>This kind of tracking is still important, though, and sheds light on your overall level of fitness. If you've had a particularly exhausting run followed up by a long bike ride, the watch recognizes your high level of activity and recommends how much rest you should get before getting back into it. Whereas many fitness trackers focus on the activity aspect, a wearable that urges rest, which is a vital and underrated component to one's overall fitness, is a welcome sight. Though there are plenty of activities that just register time and heart rate, there are still several that offer advanced tracking and feedback. For instance, tracking a run gives info such as your pace, distance run, calories burned, cadence, and heart rate zones, while also tracking your route via GPS. Similarly, the ski and snowboard function tracks how fast you make it down the mountain, automatically resetting each lap when you get on a chair lift while also tracking each run with GPS. Your stats for any activity can then be uploaded to a service like Strava or TrainingPeaks where you can compare with friends or chart your progress. The companion Suunto app also serves as a hub for your data, displaying all relevant statistics from tracked activities, GPS maps of your routes, and a diary function that charts out your daily, weekly, and monthly activity. Other useful features are the ability to download offline maps with pre-loaded trails and Heatmaps, Spotify compatibility and music downloads (so you can leave your phone at home and still listen to music), and an array of downloadable apps in the <a href="https://play.google.com/store?hl=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Google Play Store</a>.<h2>Battery lasts a full day</h2>Be prepared to charge this watch each night, too. If I wasn't tracking much throughout the day, I'd sometimes have some battery life left to make it to the next morning or the next afternoon but it wouldn't be enough to do much else besides reading the time.When I did use the tracking functions and the built-in GPS along with it, I'd have to make sure to plug it in every night before I went to bed. First, the app experience is split between the Wear OS app and the Suunto app, which can be frustrating. Why isn't everything together in one app? This takes some getting used to and makes the learning curve a little steeper, but it isn't a complete deal-breaker. I also found that the watch would easily lose its connection with my phone when I closed those apps. As a routine app-closer, I swipe up on my iPhone multiple times an hour to clear away anything that doesn't need to be open, which often meant that I'd close the Suunto and Wear OS apps accidentally. This would sometimes unpair the watch with my phone and I'd not be able to receive any notifications. It's a small gripe but the convenience of glancing at your wrist when you get a text or email is a lot nicer than picking up your phone each time it buzzes.<h2>The bottom line</h2><div type="image" title="IMG_5809" height="3024" width="4032" msid="77622642" hostid="261"></div>It's clear Suunto has years of fitness wearable experience under its belt and yet, the smartwatch functionality of the 7 hardly feels like a brand taking its first crack at the technology. Google's Wear OS does deserve some of that back-patting for delivering a fluid, intuitive user experience. Its integration into Suunto's existing ecosystem flat-out works. This first entry into the smartwatch category is a worthwhile debut for Suunto, too. Aside from a few connectivity issues and the fact you need both the Wear OS and Suunto app to get the most out of it, my experience with the 7 was mostly enjoyable. I appreciated the accurate and robust activity tracking capabilities and the fact that it delivers a comfortable fit, even during grueling workouts. The display supports always-on capability and comes with scratch-resistant glass and anti-fingerprint coating, preventing finger smudges on display. The display is sharp and bright, even in direct sunlight. The watch offers dozens of watch faces, offering you several options based on your preferences. It offers several sports modes, allowing you to track your workouts and activities easily. The watch can track activity, sleep levels, and cycles, has breathing exercises, tracks the female menstrual cycle, allows you to record voice memos, create to-do lists, and much more. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Amazfit GTR 4 performance and battery life" comment="subhead" text="Amazfit GTR 4 performance and battery life">Amazfit GTR 4 performance and battery life</cmsannotation> The Amazfit GTR 4 is packed with features on paper but do these features translate well to real-world usage? We tested the watch and found that the overall experience was positive, and the watch performed well. The new one-tap measuring feature works well and reveals your heart rate, stress levels, blood oxygen saturation, and breathing rate in just 45 seconds, giving you a quick overview of your health. This allows you to track some vital stats throughout the day by spending less than a minute each time. I found the feature helpful and used it at least four to five times daily. The Amazfit GTR 4 performs well in activity tracking, but there is a slight deviation. We compared the watch with other devices, such as the company’s T-Rex 2 and the Oppo Watch. I noticed a small deviation in steps and distance covered, but unless you are a professional looking for highly accurate information, the deviation is not a deal breaker. Battery life is one of the biggest selling points of the GTR 4, and the watch earns its money in this department. It is claimed to offer a battery life of up to 14 days on a single charge. During my usage, with regular activity tracking and always-on display enabled during the day, I could get around 12 days of battery life, which is quite good. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Software and app" comment="subhead" text="Software and app">Software and app</cmsannotation> The Amazfit GTR 4 runs on Zepp OS 2.0, and it is one of the few smartwatch operating systems out there that feels good to use and does not feel clunky or laggy. While I used the feature with low expectations, considering the price, the watch performed decently. I tried calling and accepting calls on the watch for a day. While I was indoors, I was able to hear the other person easily on the speaker and the microphone also worked well as the other person was able to listen to me clearly. However, when I tried the feature outdoors in some traffic, I struggled to listen to the other person on the speaker. Similarly, there was a lot of disturbance, and the microphone could not pick up my voice. Overall, it’s a good feature if you wish to use this indoors. A budget offering from the brand, the TWS buds are tuned towards a set of users who are looking for options under a budget. Redmi emphasised that the product is developed keeping the younger generation in mind. But is it enough for the Buds 3 lite to create a name for itself in such a cluttered market? Especially, when competitors like OnePlus and Realme have their own offering to compete. I will try to put things in perspective with this review. Price &amp; Availability Redmi Buds 3 Lite is priced at ₹1,999 and will be available on company’s website and Amazon India. Design &amp; Build Redmi Buds 3 Lite have entered a competitive segment, where small details can make a big difference. The brand has played it safe here, with the design being as basic as possible. It’s not wrong necessarily but when you look at Realme Buds Q2s with a transparent lid, you feel there is room for some experimentation. <div type="image" title="Redmi Buds 3 Lite are portable and easy to carry" msid="93273695" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Redmi Buds 3 Lite are portable and easy to carry&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The Redmi 3 Buds with me are in black color and have an engraved Redmi branding on the case. The case, as I mentioned, is basic and there is nothing to rave about it. Sporting a plastic build, the finishing on the case is a bit slippery, and you might have to maintain a conscious grip around it if you are clumsy like me. The case also gets scratched if you keep it with your keys. Moving on, Redmi has struck well when it comes to the form factor of the case. It is compact and lightweight. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket along with other items, so full marks for portability. The case has a tiny LED up front for denoting charge once plugged in. On the bottom you will find a USB Type-C charging port. The buds follow the traditional dot design, which is compact and sits well in the ears. They also have a nylon hook, which is supposed to add a better grip. I personally don’t find them as useful, and unfortunately, the bundled hooks didn’t do the job for me either. However, credit where it’s due, the buds have a snug fit by default and don’t fall from your ears as often. <div type="image" title="Redmi Buds 3 Lite follow a dot design" msid="93273824" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Redmi Buds 3 Lite follow a dot design&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> As for the fit and finish of the buds, they feel premium, and the piano black finish on the panel adds an appeal. The buds are IP54 splash resistant, which means they are supposed to hold well against sweat and minor splashes. As they did, since I didn’t face any problems with the buds during my workout. That being said, I doubt they will hold well against heavy rains, so a heads-up in case you don’t want any surprises. <div type="image" title="Redmi Buds 3 Lite has a snug fit" msid="93274185" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Redmi Buds 3 Lite has a snug fit&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Connectivity and Gestures As it is expected, Redmi Buds 3 Lite don’t have a fancy application to pair them up with your devices. It’s a simple 3 tap process. You turn on the Bluetooth on the device, refresh the list and select the accessory. The buds show up on the Bluetooth range instantly, making the pairing process smooth. Once connected, there is a sound notifying the pairing. The buds can also be used individually, a feature I would like to see on all devices of this nature. The execution here gave me no reason to complain and I could use individual buds easily. These results were similar for both my Android phone and iPhone. Another point to note here is that Redmi Buds 3 Lite uses Bluetooth 5.2, which promises better connectivity and audio performance. <div type="image" title="Gesture support on Redmi Buds 3 Lite is choppy" msid="93274214" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Gesture support on Redmi Buds 3 Lite is choppy&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The gesture support on the buds is choppy. I have used both the OnePlus Nord Buds and Realme Buds Q2s and in order of ranking the gesture support the Redmi Buds 3 Lite is the weakest. This is disappointing given that there is no real variety in gestures either. A single tap plays and pauses the music, while a double tap is used on respective buds on either of the buds is used for answering calls. Then there is the classic, a long press for voice assistants. So far in my 3 days of usage, the buds have rarely responded to the gestures precisely. And it does get annoying after a while. I tried to figure out a crack for this, and as it turns out there are particular spots on the buds where one needs to tap for the gestures to work. Once clear, it was a smooth sail. However, for a generic consumer, this can be jargon and hinders the very convenience that a TWS unit promises to offer. I hope Redmi takes note of this since the hardware on Redmi devices doesn’t usually disappoint. The multi-device connectivity on the buds is also missing - a common miss on budget buds. Audio Performance Redmi Buds 3 Lite features 6mm Dynamic drivers, which deliver a decent audio performance. I have used the buds to listen to a variety of music, and made my observations accordingly. Starting with the good. The volume levels on the buds are fairly loud, and one can actually cut away from their surroundings thanks to the audio output. It has small drivers but they deliver decent thump and bass, sometimes better than Nord Buds and Realme Q2s. This opinion stays concrete for every genre I tested, from classic Kishore Kumar to recent tracks by Tyga. However, I do wish there was a way I could switch volume levels from the buds, but this feature is missing across the budget segment. Where the buds miss out is details. The loudness of the buds tends to take over audio details at times. This is noticeable with streaming both music and content. The recurring problem has been the audio output having an echo. It is not noticeable in songs with mellow beats, but gets more prominent with high-energy soundtracks, involving multiple instruments. That said, it does not spoil the experience to the point that you don’t enjoy your music. The range on the buds is also favorable, Redmi claims it has a 10-meter range and practically it’s close to the same. I could plug in my device at charge and listen to music without any issues. There is also a game mode on the buds, which gets activated once you press and hold both buds at the same time. I did two sessions of BGMI with its game mode. And there was no noticeable difference between the regular audio and dedicated game modes. Either way, the buds are a good comrade for gaming. I could figure out the direction of sound with the buds on. The calling experience on the buds was surprisingly decent and on par with Nord Buds. The audio quality was clear, and the microphone performed perfectly. However, I still find budget TWS buds lacking the microphone quality we see on high quality wired earphones. Case in point my regular wired Apple earpods. Buds 3 Lite promises 18 hour playback on single charge, with the case carrying 13 hours of charge on the go. The real-time performance is around 14 hours, give or take. It means a light user who use the buds on commute will have to plug them once in 3 days. A heavy user who takes them for gyming, commuting and casual streaming will have to plug them in within a day and a half of usage. These numbers shouldn’t be discouraging, though, they are in line with the portfolio of Budget TWS buds. The saving grace is the quick charge feature though, 10 minutes of plug-in time gives you about an hour of usage. Verdict Redmi Buds 3 Lite delivers on the expectations we set with a budget of TWS buds. Still, to put things in perspective, if you are confused between them, Realme Q2s and Nord Buds read the following. The Redmi Buds 3 Lite are for users who like classic TWS features and can adjust to the minimal aesthetic. You get a loud audio output which is mostly good and decent calling performance, plus Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. In the case of Nord Buds and Realme Q2S, there is an aesthetic advantage and better gesture support. But the audio performance is at par and sometimes underwhelming compared to the Redmi Buds 3 Lite. Most patients of lung cancer are diagnosed in the age group of 50-70 year, he said. "However, with the advent of genomic sequencing of tumors, there are a lot of newer treatment approaches available. Dr Nitin Yashas further that immunotherapy wherein the body's immune mechanism is activated to fight cancer cells has revolutionised the treatment of lung cancer and is often given in combination with chemotherapy resulting in long survival in years in a subset of patients and is now being evaluated for its efficacy in earlier stages also. The reason is that most lung cancers are diagnosed very late. Lung cancer in early stages does not produce any symptoms or may produce symptoms that are confused with allergy, simple cough, etc. It is also important to note that more than 70 per cent of lung cancers happen in smokers, he says. Dr Sandeep Nayak explains: "We know that smokers are the most vulnerable for lung cancer and we also know that a screening CT scan of lung done every once in a year for heavy smokers can pick up lung cancers early enough to prevent death due to lung cancer." This was a result of a recent research study. The screening CT scan is a low dose scan and can pick lung cancer very early saving many lives, he adds. Surgery has remained the main treatment for lung cancer when it is curable. Surgeries have moved from macabre surgeries to very subtle over the years both in extent and approach. There was a time when the entire lung had to be removed in order to remove lung cancer, Dr. Nayak says. "With the emergence of robotic surgery and fluorescence technology today we are able to remove only a small segment of lung which bears tumors, sparing the rest of the healthy lung. This has become possible because of the extensive research that has happened in the recent past."
