The monitor features a sleek and elegant design. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful monitors I’ve used to date. <div type="image" title="2" msid="113404216" hostid="261" sizebytes="6750" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Alienware logo at the back&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> At the back, the monitor comes with a black-and-white theme, offering a good contrast. While the black part is glossy, the white part is matte. The back comes with the Alienware logo with RGB lighting on the right side and a “32” logo on the left side with RGB lighting. The lighting at the back can be customised using the Alienware Command Centre. The monitor comes with a wide-base V-shaped stand with matte white plastic on top of a sturdy metal base. The monitor comes with Alienware branding at the front on the bottom bezel. You can tilt the screen up or down or swivel side to side, based on your preference to get the best viewing angles. The monitor weighs 6 kg for the panel and goes up to 8.8 kg with the stand. At the back, the monitor offers a white cover that allows you to tuck in your cables, allowing you to properly manage your cables. One of the only drawbacks of the monitor is that this doesn’t pack in speakers. While headphones are best for gaming, having a speaker comes in handy when you do not wish to use headphones. It comes with a joystick at the bottom that allows you to control the monitor’s menu system. The joystick works well and responds quickly. You get several customisation options with the joystick, including HDR modes, custom colour calibration, presets, modes and more. You also get some features aimed at gamers such as an on-screen crosshair, sniper mode, shadow boosting and a black equalizer. In terms of connectivity, the monitor offers one DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, two HDMI 2.1 ports, three USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port. One of the HDMI 2.1 ports also offers eARC support. Both the HDMI ports offer 4K 240Hz support but the USB ports work only as a hub and cannot be used as a display input. <h2>Display and performance</h2>The Alienware AW3225QF features a 32-inch 4K QD-OLED display with a 1700R curve, a resolution of 3,840 x 2160 pixels and a 240Hz refresh rate. It offers a 0.03ms response time, 250 nits brightness and 1000 nits peak brightness in HDR. <div type="image" title="a" msid="113404207" hostid="261" sizebytes="17240" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Alienware AW3225QF display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The 1700R curve is excellent as this is not too extreme, allowing you to easily view it from all angles. It offers an immersive experience while gaming without having an impact on regular usage or taking up too much space on your desk. Despite being an ultraide monitor, you don’t have to worry about black bars on a PC or console, thanks to the 16:9 aspect ratio. The monitor offers a 1 million:1 contrast ratio and offers a pixel density of 140 PPI, which is an improvement. The monitor’s colour gamut covers 100% of sRGB, 98% of DCI-P3 and 94% of AdobeRGB. Gaming on the monitor is a completely different experience, especially when you pair it with a powerful GPU that can deliver the best graphics. I played various games with the monitor, including Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077 and Ghost of Tsushima. I had an amazing experience with the monitor as it delivers vibrant visuals and a smooth gaming experience. The monitor offers an excellent resolution, vibrant colours and excellent response time. The monitor comes with various HDR modes, including Dolby Vision HDR mode. You need to play around with it a bit to select the best mode for your needs. The monitor is equipped with a pixel refresh function, aimed at preventing burn-in, which is usually an issue for OLED panels. Considering the premium that you pay for the monitor, Alienware offers a three-year warranty for burn-in. The monitor offers active cooling and is equipped with a fan. The fan fans slowly so it is not audible so you don’t get disturbed. <h2>Verdict</h2>The Alienware AW3225QF is among the best gaming monitors that money can buy and ticks all the right boxes. It features an excellent design, a vibrant display with a high resolution and refresh rate and delivers excellent performance. The only question you need to ask is whether you wish to spend a huge amount on a monitor. If money is no object, this monitor from Alienware is an amazing option to add to your gaming setup. While a lot of premium gaming laptops these days are trying to blend in with minimalistic designs, the Legion 9i isn’t imitating this trend. I tested the laptop with several games, including games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Starfield. Both the games performed well and the laptop was able to handle them without any issues. The laptop was able to handle these games without any issues while playing at maximum settings. Considering the hardware, you will be able to handle everything that you throw at it. The laptop’s cooling technology can keep the device cool during extended gaming sessions so you don’t have to worry about performance throttling. <keyword id="20305504" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Khelo-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Khelo India" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Khelo India">Khelo India</keyword>, which is the government's flagship project to promote sports at the grassroots level, was once again the biggest beneficiary in the union <keyword id="19936553" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="budget" source="keywords">budget</keyword> for the <keyword id="19896478" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sports-ministry" source="keywords">sports ministry</keyword> as it was assigned Rs 900 crore from the overall allocation of Rs 3,442.32 crore on Tuesday. Kehlo <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="keywords">India</keyword>'s share, announced in the budget presented by finance minister <keyword id="19916618" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nirmala-sitharaman" source="keywords">Nirmala Sitharaman</keyword> here, is Rs 20 crore more than the revised allocation of Rs 880 crore during the previous financial year. With the <keyword id="19986816" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Olympic" source="keywords">Olympic</keyword> cycle set to come to an end in Paris in August this year, and the <keyword id="19895708" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Commonwealth-Games" source="keywords">Commonwealth Games</keyword> and <keyword id="20007738" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Asian-Games" source="keywords">Asian Games</keyword> still two years away, the budget for the Sports Ministry has seen only a marginal increase of Rs 45.36 crore from the previous cycle. The budget for the previous cycle was Rs 3,396.96 crore for the previous financial year. The government has invested heavily in Khelo India over the years as the programme continues to unearth talent from all parts of the country. While Khelo India's actual allocation in 2022-23 stood at Rs 596.39 crore, it was increased by more than Rs 400 crore, to Rs 1,000 crores, in the 2023-24 budget, before being revised to Rs 880 crore. The government has continued to add programmes ever since the inaugural Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) were held in 2018. The ministry added Khelo India University Games in 2020, before also launching the Khelo India Winter Games the same year and the Khelo India Para Games in 2023. Hundreds of Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCE) have been set up across the country, which aim to provide facilities for athletes with potential. Several Khelo India athletes are currently in India's Olympic-bound contingent. The government's assistance to <keyword id="20418970" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Sports-Federations" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="National Sports Federations" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="National Sports Federations">National Sports Federations</keyword> (NSFs) has also seen an increase of Rs 15 crore -- from Rs 325 crore in 2023-24 to Rs 340 crore in the latest budget. The budget for Sports Authority of India, which apart from maintaining its stadia across the country also manages the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) to prepare athletes for the global sporting extravaganzas, has also been enhanced from Rs 795.77 crore to Rs 822.60 crore, which is a jump of Rs 26.83 crore. The <keyword id="20524251" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Anti-Doping-Agency" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="National Anti-Doping Agency" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="National Anti-Doping Agency">National Anti-Doping Agency</keyword> (NADA) and the National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL), which does all the testing, have received marginal increase in their budgets. While NADA's budget has gone up from Rs 21.73 crore last year to Rs 22.30 crore, NDTL has got Rs 22 crore, up from Rs 19.50 last year.

Khelo India once again gets lion's share in Union Budget for sports

Following the delay in the verdict on wrestler <keyword id="19895499" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vinesh-Phogat" source="keywords">Vinesh Phogat</keyword>'s disqualification in the Paris Olympics 2024, <keyword id="110074" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Wrestling-Federation-of-India" source="Orion">Wrestling Federation of India</keyword> Vice-President <keyword id="22782425" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jai-Prakash-Chaudhary" source="Orion">Jai Prakash Chaudhary</keyword> said that he thinks that the decision will come in favour of the athlete. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (<keyword id="20253262" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="CAS" source="keywords">CAS</keyword>) has further delayed the verdict on Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat's appeal regarding her disqualification from the women's 50kg final at the Paris Olympics to August 16. According to the Indian Olympic Association (<keyword id="19934453" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IOA" source="keywords">IOA</keyword>), the verdict, originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 13 at 9:30 pm IST, has been delayed to August 16. "The CAS ad hoc division president has allowed Hon. Dr Annabelle Bennett, Sole Arbitrator in the Vinesh Phogat vs. United World Wrestling (UWW) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) matter, an extension until 6-00 p.m. (Paris time) on Friday, August 16, 2024," IOA said in a statement on Tuesday. "It shouldn't have happened. But, I think something in the favour of Vinesh is going to come... It seems that there are some powers involved in it and she will get the medal... I'll say that her staffs are at fault. It's their duty how to decrease the weight. But, let's see what happens on August 16... Big advocates are there, PM Modi has also taken cognisance and I think the decision will be in our favour..." Jai Prakash said while speaking to ANI. CAS has established an ad hoc division in Paris, led by President Michael Lenard from the US, to handle Olympic cases. This division operates within the Paris judicial court in the 17th arrondissement. Vinesh Phogat was disqualified on the morning of the Paris Olympics final for exceeding the 50kg weight limit. During the weigh-in, she was found to be 100 grams over the limit. Following her disqualification, Phogat had on August 7 requested CAS to award her the silver medal. CAS had previously extended the deadline to August 13. Vinesh had reached the gold medal match by defeating Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez 5-0 in the semi-finals. The 29-year-old was set to face Sarah Ann Hildebrandt of the United States for the gold but was disqualified for the weight limit breach. A day after her disqualification, Vinesh also announced her decision to retire from wrestling. After Vinesh failed to breach the qualification mark, the Indian Olympic Association members and officials came under scrutiny. IOA President PT Usha on Sunday clarified that the responsibility of weight management of athletes in sports like wrestling, weightlifting, boxing and judo is that of each athlete and his or her coach and not that of the IOA-appointed Chief Medical Officer Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala and his team. Usha said that each Indian athlete in the Paris 2024 <keyword id="20028513" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Olympic-Games" source="keywords">Olympic Games</keyword> in such sport had his or her own support team. These support teams have been working with the athletes over so many years, as per a statement from IOA. Last year, she made headlines at the Asian Games by clinching three medals--one gold and two silver. The championships will serve as the final <keyword id="22187659" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="qualifying-event" source="keywords">qualifying event</keyword> for the upcoming <keyword id="20242595" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Paris-Games" source="keywords">Paris Games</keyword> where the athletics events begin on August 1. Incidentally, the final day of the four-day championships — June 30 — also coincides with the <keyword id="19933819" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="olympics" source="keywords">Olympics</keyword> qualifying window deadline. Chopra will skip the championships as there is only a few days gap before the Paris Diamond League on July 7, in which he is set to compete. He competed in the Federation Cup in Bhubaneswar last month, winning a gold. Last month, <keyword id="20386415" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Athletics-Federation-of-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Athletics Federation of India" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="Athletics Federation of India">Athletics Federation of India</keyword> (AFI) president Adille Sumariwalla had made it clear that except for Chopra, it will be mandatory for all the other athletes to participate in the National Inter-State Championships to get selected for the <keyword id="20006192" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Paris-Olympics" source="keywords">Paris Olympics</keyword>. AFI rules state that all the athletes will have to participate in the National Inter-State Championships if they have to get selected for major multi-sport events like the Olympics, Asian Games or the Commonwealth Games, unless the federation gives exemption on the request of particular athletes or their coaches. In the absence of Chopra, the likes of Avinash Sable (men's 3000m steeplechase), Kishore Jena (men's javelin throw), Ram Baboo (men's 20km race walk) and Parul Chaudhary (women's 3000m steeplechase) — all of whom have booked Paris Games berths by breaching the qualifying standards — will headline the championships. Other athletes who can book Paris ticket through world ranking quota like Jyothi Yarraji (women's 100m hurdles), Annu Rani (women's javelin throw), DP Manu (men's javelin throw), Tajinderpal Singh Toor (men's shot put), Jeswin Aldrin (men's long jump), Praveen Chitravel and Abdulla Aboobacker (both men's triple jump) have also entered their names. Toor, an Asian record holder till a few days back, told PTI on Tuesday that he is dealing with a slight ankle pain and his doctor told him not to throw for three-four weeks. But his name figured in Wednesday's updated entry list of the AFI. Some of rising stars like sprinter Animesh Kujur, 110m hurdler Tejas Shirse — who recently set the national record — and long jumper Shaili Singh are also set to be seen in action. National record holder Manikanta Hoblidhar is also set to be back in action after missing the Federation Cup and his 100m dash duel with Kujur, Amlan Borgohain and Gurindervir Singh for the tag of the country's fastest man will be interesting to watch though none of them are likely to make it to Paris. Federation Cup 200m gold medallist Kujur will also be up against national record holder Borgohain in another duel. Almost all the members of the Indian men's and women's 4x400m relay teams that had booked Paris berths will feature in the individual quarter-mile events. National record holder 20km race walker Akshdeep Singh, who has also breached the Paris Games qualifying mark, is missing from the entry list. Women's 20km race walk national record holder Priyanka Goswami, who has also qualified for Paris Olympics, is not in the list. The opening day will see just three finals — women's hammer throw, men's and women's 500m races. A few athletes from Sri Lanka and Maldives are also taking part in the championships.
