Amongst 22 fulfilment centres in 10 Indian states of Gujarat, Haryana, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Amazon-is-planning-to-set-ups-lofts-in-Bengaluru-Heres-what-they-are/articleshow/52969211.cms">Karnataka</a>, Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal, this one is the largest, being spread across about 200,000 sq ft. <br />

Amazon has opened India's biggest fulfilment centre in Sonipat

<ul><li>Amazon has partnered with GMR to expand its Hyderabad <keyword id="2023143" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fulfillment-centre">fulfillment centre</keyword>. </li><li>The company will be expanding its 400,000 square feet space by 180,000 sq ft. </li><li>The expansion will help the e-commerce giant fasten its speed of delivery.</li></ul>E-commerce giant Amazon partnered with GMR Hyderabad Airport City for its largest ever fulfillment centre in India. The company will be expanding its 400,000 square feet space by another 180,000 sft. <br /><br />“In line with our vision to transform the way India buys and sells, we have been consistently investing in our infrastructure and delivery network, so we can increase our speed of delivery and provide a superior experience to both – customers and sellers,” said Akhil Saxena, Vice President, Customer Fulfilment - Asia, Amazon.<br /><br />Amazon holds 30% of the market share in Indian e-commerce industry. It has been ramping up its operations to grow its market further. In Telangana alone, Amazon has three fulfillment centres. In June it had also launched its largest delivery station in the state, spreading over 20,000 square feet. <br /><br />Across the country, Amazon now has more than 60 FCs with over 20 million cubic storage space.<br /><br />The expansion of FCs in India seems to be aligned with Amazon’s plan to have faster deliveries. In an earlier conversation with Business Insider, Akshay Sahi, Director &amp; Head of Prime, <keyword id="6354743" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon-India">Amazon India</keyword>, said that they are looking to expand their options for same day deliveries, to more cities. <br /><br />Under the partnership, Amazon is working with <keyword id="1471567" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="GMR-airport">GMR Airport</keyword> Land Development, a subsidiary of the GMR Group, which is leading the development of the airport city in Hyderabad.<br />

Amazon is planning to hire 1,500 people at a warehouse in Essex

It seems merchants and vendors are not happy with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=snapdeal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Snapdeal</a> and apart from falling numbers, the online marketplace is grappling with another challenge.<br />

An <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=online+vendors&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">online vendors</a> association conducted a survey on pending payments and stocks on <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> and it was revealed nearly Rs 1.2 crore were in outstanding dues.<br />
<br /> The <keyword id="3339351" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="All-India-Online-Vendors-Association">All India Online Vendors Association</keyword> (AIOVA) conducted a survey and sought details from its 2,100 members, asking details such as payments pending, stock pending in Snapdeal-Plus which allows sellers to stock their products at the nearest Snapdeal fulfilment centre and the ticket number for the complaint registered with Snapdeal.<br />

As per various reports, Snapdeal held payments due to various reasons. ET reported payments were held up due to reasons like fake products sold by them, penalty for returned orders which did not reach the sellers and inaccurate charges for packaging and logistics.<br />

The due amounts ranged from Rs 2,878 to as high as Rs 56 lakh. The value of the stock pending at the Snapdeal fulfilment centres was not considered to arrive at the figure of Rs 1.21 crore.<br />

An AIOVA spokesperson told ET some sellers will be meeting the Snapdeal team in this regard.<br />

"The response was as per expectation with majority members coming out and telling us that they have stopped selling on Snapdeal. We also collected data of disputes ranging fromRs 1,000 to Rs 1.5 crore which are stuck since the past 6-8 months due to which sellers have stopped selling. We hope (that) either the Snapdeal management or government takes these cases and clears the pending dues,” an AIOVA spokesperson told ET.<br />

However, Snapdeal has rejected the allegations. "Seller dues are processed and settled as per predefined payments cycles, information of which is available with the sellers. There are no outstanding payments to sellers. In fact, earlier this week we have further reduced the payment cycle for SD+ sellers, which will enable them to receive their payments 40% faster,” Snapdeal told ET in a statement.

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><ul><li><strong>A small army of Amazon employees are tweeting nice things about the working conditions in the company's warehouses.</strong></li><li><strong>The Twitter accounts have a standardised format, all bearing the Amazon smile logo as their background.</strong></li><li><strong>Amazon says these employees are called "FC Ambassadors" who have experience working in the fulfilment centres.</strong></li><li><strong>It follows a series of horror stories about working conditions, including staff having to pee in bottles because of their targets.</strong></li></ul><p><br>A small army of accounts have popped up on Twitter to tweet positive things about Amazon's warehouse working conditions.</br></p><p><a href="https://techcrunch.com/2018/08/23/what-is-this-weird-twitter-army-of-amazon-drones-cheerfully-defending-warehouse-work/">TechCrunch discovered 15 accounts</a> all following a standardised format after Twitter users Flamboyant Shoes Guy drew attention to them.</p><p>TechCrunch found that all the accounts bore the Amazon smile logo as backgrounds, and had identical structures to their bios and the title "FC Ambassador" in their name, followed by a cardboard box emoji.</p><p>The accounts engage with people about the working conditions in Amazon's fulfilment centres, weighing in when people tweet negatively about the company to praise its working conditions.</p><p>But while Flamboyant Shoes Guy thought these accounts were bots posing as Amazon workers, the company has confirmed that the FC ambassadors are real people, being paid to spread the firm's message.</p><p>"FC ambassadors are employees who have experience working in our fulfilment centers. The most important thing is that they've been here long enough to honestly share the facts based on personal experience," an Amazon spokesman told Business Insider.</p><p>"It's important that we do a good job of educating people about the actual environment inside our fulfillment centers, and the FC ambassador program is a big part of that along with the fulfilment center tours we provide."</p><p>Looking through the ambassador accounts, Business Insider found they had all joined in August.
