<br /> Although disappointed with the Indian telecom regulator's rule that ousted Free Basics from the country, <keyword id="6354576" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Facebook">Facebook</keyword> CEO <keyword id="6354630" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mark-Zuckerberg">Mark Zuckerberg</keyword> has said that the social networking giant will focus on other aspects of the programme and work with all telcos to bring more people in the South Asian nation onto the <keyword id="6357247" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Internet">Internet</keyword>. <br />

"We recently had a ruling in India that says there should be no differential pricing for services that even if you are trying to give some basic services for free, that's not going to be allowed. So that's disappointing for the mission of what we are trying to connect people and is a major setback in India," Zuckerberg told media at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. <br />
He said that the main learnings for the developments in India were that all countries are different, and what works in one, doesn't work in another. He added that Facebook would continue to roll out Free Basics, previously called Internet.org, in other countries. <br />

Facebook pulled the plug on Free Basics in India - the company's largest market outside the US - about two weeks back, a year after its launch. This followed the telecom regulator barring discriminatory pricing of data services, which included a ban on zero-rated products. This also meant that programmes such as Free Basics, a zero-rated service, would not be allowed in India. <br />
<br /> While Facebook has maintained that Free Basics is designed to connect the unconnected poor, critics say it creates a walled garden of only selected websites or apps, thus violating the concept of <keyword id="6391709" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Net-neutrality">net neutrality</keyword>. <br />

"In India, we are going to focus on different programmes, so there are parts of internet.org that we are focused on working on, we want to work with all the operators there," Zuckerberg said. <br />

He said that data prices will only get lower in the country. This, coupled with the expectations that network equipment prices fall from current levels, may make it more economically viable for telcos to roll out networks in areas which they wouldn't earlier. <br />
<br />
"So more people will be able to get on internet,' Zuckerberg said, adding that would tie in with Facebook's mission to connect the unconnected billions. <br />
<br />
On the argument given by telcos to have same service same rules, the Facebook founder said that as an operator setting up towers, its business is different. <br />
<br />
"Consumers don't pay to use Facebook, they pay to use the data," he added. <br />
<br />
Mobile operators have been seeking same service same rules for over-the-top players like Facebook-owned WhatsApp and Skype as the applications offer same calling services but are not under any kind of regulation.<br />

San Francisco, June 18 (IANS) Video conferencing platform Zoom has said it will be providing end-to-end encryption to all users, reversing its earlier decision to offer the privacy feature only to paid users.<br /><br />The announcement came after digital right group criticised Zoom for its plan to deprive free users of the benefits of end-to-end encryption.<br /><br />The decision to exclude free users was based on fear of misuse of the platform by bad actors, according to Zoom.<br /><br />In a blog post on Wednesday, Zoom CEO Eric Yuan said that the company has now identified a path forward that balances the legitimate right of all users to privacy and the safety of users on its platform.<br /><br />"This will enable us to offer E2EE (end-to-end encryption) as an advanced add-on feature for all of our users around the globe -- free and paid -- while maintaining the ability to prevent and fight abuse on our platform," Yuan said.<br /><br />Free/Basic users seeking access to end-to-end encryption will have to participate in a one-time process that will prompt them for additional pieces of information, such as verifying a phone number via a text message.<br /><br />"Many leading companies perform similar steps on account creation to reduce the mass creation of abusive accounts," Yuan said.<br /><br />"We are confident that by implementing risk-based authentication, in combination with our current mix of tools -- including our Report a User function -- we can continue to prevent and fight abuse."<br /><br />Zoom said it plans to roll out early beta of the end-to-end encryption feature from next month.<br /><br />It will be an optional feature as it limits some meeting functionality.<br /><br />Zoom said since releasing the draft design of the platform's end-to-end encryption on May 22, it has engaged with civil liberties organisations, child safety advocates, encryption experts, government representatives, its own users, and others to gather their feedback on this feature.<br /><br />Zoom was earlier sued by one of its shareholders who alleged in the complaint that the platform failed to disclose some vulnerabilities and that the services did not provide end-to-end encryption.<br /><br />--IANS<br /><br />gb/na

Based on a market cap ₹7.8 lakh crore, Jio would be worth ₹3.4 lakh crore by Deven's estimate.<br /><br />At a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/news/facebook-picks-up-10-stake-in-jio-platform-for-rs-43574-cr/articleshow/75283937.cms">pre-deal value of ₹4.4 lakh crore</a>, Zuckerberg’s buy-in is about 33% higher than what Choksey had estimated on Tuesday. This explains why RIL’s shares have spiked in a market that’s bearing down due to the impact of Coronavirus.<br /><br /><strong>Why Facebook needs Jio<br /></strong>The reason Zuckerberg’s investment makes sense is because Jio is likely to be the fastest-growing segment for Reliance in the post-COVID world. <br /><br />Even though the Reliance subsidiary is only three-and-a-half years old, it has stolen the top spot from others like Vodafone and Bharti Airtel to become the largest telecom player in the country making it an attractive buy-in for the US company.<br /><br />“The recent tariff hike should still allow Jio’s EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) to rise 78% YoY [year-on-year] in FY21. Strong telecom and a weaker rupee will offset big cuts in petrochemicals, refining and retail as FY21 EPS rises a small 1.6% YoY,” estimates capital market and investment group, CLSA.<br /><br />It’s also a way for Facebook to gain an edge in the Indian market which has largely been a duopoly between Facebook and Google when it comes to digital solutions for over a decade. The duopoly that has recently been threatened by ByteDance making inroads with its mobile apps like TikTok and Resso. Entering India hand-in-hand with Jio will give Facebook access to its 370 million subscribers.<br /><br />There are over 451 million active internet users in the country today with the number estimated to rise beyond 600 million in the coming year, according to Internet and Mobile Association of India (<a href="https://cms.iamai.in/Content/ResearchPapers/d3654bcc-002f-4fc7-ab39-e1fbeb00005d.pdf">IAMAI</a>).<br /><br /><strong>What does Asia’s second-richest man get from the deal?<br /></strong>For Ambani, CLSA forecasts that big deals like the one between Ambani and Zuckerberg will help reduce the burden of debt on RIL, which was at about $22 billion ⁠— 2.7 times its EBITDA⁠— at the end of March 2019. CLSA expects that the ratio will fall to 1.7 times in FY22 even before the Jio-Facebook deal was announced. <br /><br />RIL’s plan to reduce its debt also included a stake sale in its energy business to Saudi Arabia’s Aramco. <br /> In a massive step to expand its presence in India, <keyword id="6354576" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Facebook">Facebook</keyword> CEO <keyword id="6354630" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mark-Zuckerberg">Mark Zuckerberg</keyword> announced that the company took another step in connecting India and as a result everyone in the country can access free internet services for health, education, jobs and communication through <keyword id="1826931" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Internet-org">Internet.org</keyword>’s Freebasics app on the Reliance network.<br />
<br /> Citing the example of a farmer, Ganesh Nimbalkar and his wife Bharati who support their family of four by farming their five acre plot in Maharashtra, Zuckerberg claimed in his post that Ganesh was reportedly struggling with traditional farming methods in a region plagued by droughts, but once he switched to <keyword id="3073276" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Free-Basics">Free Basics</keyword> last year, things changed.<br />

With Free Basics, Ganesh could access services like AccuWeather, which helped him work better through the monsoon season and Reuters market Light, which helped him understand commodity prices and in turn get a better deal for his crops.<br />
<br />
“By using Free Basics, Ganesh has doubled his crop yield, eradicated insect infestations and even invested in new crops and livestock,” said Zuckerberg, in his post.<br />
<br />
Zuckerberg concluded by stating that even though nearly 1 billion people are currently without internet access in India, now with Internet.org's Free Basics available nationwide, many more people like Ganesh and Bharati will have access to the information and opportunity the internet brings.<br />
<br />
His post went viral within minutes of being uploaded garnering over 74k likes, 3.2k comments and over 3.9k shares.<br />
<br />
Zuckerberg’s gesture was however met with mixed reactions, though a majority of the comments were in favour of Free Basics and hailed the CEO for supporting the farmers of India.<br />
<br />
One user said Free Basics coming to India is “great news for horticulture and agriculture industry in India and would enable small stakeholders to come to terms with rapid changes in crop-rotation and climate and also encourage them to grow different types of crops.”<br />
<br /> However, there were some users who showed their displeasure as well. One user pointed out that ‘<keyword id="3148335" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="internet-access-for-all">Internet Access for All</keyword>’ schemes like this made no sense when the current government was championing against net neutrality. While another user advised Zuckerberg to not fool Indians by sharing such emotional stories when the reality of the country is very different.<br />

“Do you have any idea how is the telecommunication network coverage and its conditions in India? Forget remote rural areas, the network is terrible even in major cities. People here are struggling hard to get even 1-2 bars of the network strength and here you are advertising Free Basics! If you’re so concerned about clarity by FreeBasics, make it available on all networks, and not just Reliance.”<br />

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>JUUL Labs</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><ul><li><strong>Juul is the best-selling e-cigarette on the market, with 32% of the market share of the total e-cigarette category, according to Nielsen data.</strong></li><li><strong>The device was created by Stanford graduate students as part of their thesis.</strong></li><li><strong>The Juul system uses a proprietary blend of ingredients that the company says makes it taste more like a cigarette.</strong></li></ul><p> </p><p>When two graduate students at Stanford set out to turn cigarette smokers on to alternatives in 2007, the solution seemed obvious: Make an e-cigarette that tastes like a cigarette.</p><p>Juul, an e-cigarette system consisting of a pocket-size <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/vaping">vaporizer</a> and nicotine juice cartridges that can be swapped in and out, is now the best-selling e-cigarette in America.</p><p>While most e-cigarettes use a type of nicotine called "<a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/some-smokes-stronger-than-others/">free-base</a>," which passes quickly into the bloodstream when inhaled, the cartridges that <a href="https://www.juullabs.com/">Juul Labs</a> sells - Juulpods - contain a concentrated juice cocktail of salts and organic acids found in tobacco leaves. This blend more closely resembles the ingredients found in a cigarette, and therefore tastes more like one, according to Tyler Goldman, CEO of Juul Labs (which spun out of parent company, Pax Labs, earlier this year). Pax Labs <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/pax-labs-inc-granted-us-patent-for-nicotine-salt-e-cigarette-300196459.html">received a patent</a> for its nicotine-salt formulation in 2015.</p><p>Over the past year, Juul Labs has generated $224 million in retail sales, according to Nielsen data provided by Juul Labs. The brand saw sales explode 621% year-over-year and captured 32% market share of the total e-cigarette category in the four weeks that ended November 4.</p><p>One million Juul systems have sold to date. It's available at 12,000 convenience stores across the US, as well as <a href="https://www.juulvapor.com/">online</a>. The vaporizer retails for $35, and a four-pack of pods costs $16.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Pax Labs</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Pax Labs, formerly known as Ploom, started with a mission to make cigarettes obsolete. Both founders were smokers. The pair dedicated their senior design program thesis to the development of what would become the Juul e-cigarette system. In 2012, Ploom came to market with its first product: Pax, a marijuana vaporizer that used similar technology as Juul.</p><p>The Juul, which launched in 2015, looks like no other e-cigarette on the market. The device is shaped like a USB drive with a metallic finish. Users can inhale to activate the heat source, unlike other devices that require users to unscrew a cap and fill a chamber with liquid.</p><p>Goldman, who took over as CEO in 2016, credits the Juul's nicotine-salt formulation, as well as its engineering and sleek form factor, with the device's popularity. The company produces some 20 million pods per month, but it has <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/30/juuls-popularity-exposes-the-challenges-of-making-a-mass-market-e-cig.html">struggled to keep up with demand</a>.</p><p>According to Goldman, the startup has actually "stopped trying to create new users" by leaving some stores purposefully out of stock of the vaporizers. It sells only refill cartridges to those stores, so people who use Juul and "switched off cigarettes can stay switched," Goldman said.</p><p>There is no long-term evidence that the vapor from e-cigarettes is less harmful than conventional smoke. Some research suggests e-cigarettes <a href="http://www.wsj.com/articles/e-cig-sales-rapidly-lose-steam-1447798921">are less harmful</a> than cigarettes because they don't require igniting a material and inhaling the carcinogens and toxins that go along with it. But <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/11/upshot/e-cigarettes-are-safer-but-not-exactly-safe.html?_r=0">nicotine is still dangerous</a>, and the long-term effects of e-cigarette use are unknown.</p><p>The e-cigarette market gained a victory in July, when the Food and Drug Administration <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/28/health/electronic-cigarette-tobacco-nicotine-fda.html">delayed regulations</a> that would have banned many e-cigarettes from the market. Critics of the scheme argue that Free Basics creates a ghettoized internet, with the main internet for the (relatively) wealthy and a limited version for poor people.</p><p>On Monday, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) announced it had issued the "Prohibition of Discriminatory Tariffs for Data Services Regulations, 2016," which "disallow[s] service providers to offer or charge discriminatory tariffs for data services on the basis of content being access by a consumer."</p><p>The announcement does not mention Facebook, or Free Basics, by name - but by taking a pro-net neutrality stance and blocking services from offering only certain types of content, it means Free Basics will not be able to function.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>As debate has raged over Free Basics, Facebook has strongly defended the service, spending a <a href="http://www.theverge.com/2016/2/8/10913398/free-basics-india-regulator-ruling">reported</a> $45 million promoting it. <p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Vivian Giang</span></p><p class="caption">Aerushot is just one of the companies that sells caffeine inhalers.</p></div><p></p></div></div>Instead of getting their morning hit of caffeine by sipping a cup of coffee, some people are now inhaling it.</p><p><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/aeroshot-caffeine-inhaler-2012-2">Caffeine vaporizers</a> deliver a puff of the popular stimulant on the go. Instead of coffee beans, the active ingredients are guarana (an Amazonian plant rich in caffeine), taurine (a supplement used in energy drinks), and ginseng.</p><p>Like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/study-says-young-adults-think-e-cigarettes-are-safe-and-they-are-very-wrong-2015-1">e-cigarettes</a>, these devices use a heating element to vaporize the ingredients to provide a stimulating hit when inhaled.</p><p>The <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/23/style/caffeine-inhalers-rush-to-serve-the-energy-challenged.html">New York Times</a> described the experience as "Red Bull for the lungs."</p><p>While a 12-ounce cup of coffee contains between <a href="http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-depth/caffeine/art-20049372">95 and 200 milligrams of caffeine</a>, a standard "serving" of inhaled caffeine is roughly 20 to 40 milligrams, with each caffeinated puff containing about two milligrams, according to <a href="http://www.eagleenergyvapor.com/">Eagle Energy Vapor</a>, a company that makes one of these devices.</p><h2>Is caffeine vaping safe?</h2><p>The simple answer is that we don't know. According to the Times, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-fda-is-investigating-whether-inhalable-caffeine-is-the-next-four-loko-2012-2">US Food and Drug Administration has not reviewed</a> the Eagle inhaler to assess its safety. "This isn't a medication, it's safety has not been reviewed by the FDA, and they should [exercise] caution," Nieca Goldberg, a cardiologist at New York University Langone Medical Center, told Business Insider.</p><p>Consuming <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/is-too-much-coffee-bad-for-you-2015-1">too much caffeine</a>, whether from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/are-energy-drinks-really-bad-for-you-2015-1">energy drinks</a> or in vapor-form, can cause symptoms such as a rapid or fluttering heartbeat, lightheadedness, upset stomach, and overall feelings of jitteriness. At high enough levels, it can make blood pressure spike and cause heart problems, Goldberg said. </p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">As with drugs like marijuana, caffeine is absorbed into the bloodstream faster if you inhale it than if you eat or drink it. </span>With coffee, the caffeine you're drinking is typically diluted with milk or water. But vaporized caffeine can be inhaled much more quickly, and Goldberg is concerned that <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/r-in-rise-of-us-vape-shops-owners-eye-new-marijuana-market-2015-7">caffeine vapers</a> might up their consumption over time. </p><h2>What it's like to inhale caffeine</h2><p>Alex Williams, a style reporter for the Times, tried the Eagle Energy Vapor. He claimed that after five puffs of caffeine, his fingers tingled, and after 10, he felt a buzz. A new craze has people 'vaping' caffeine

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Pax Labs</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><ul><li><strong>The Juul vape pen, an e-cigarette that comes with a vaporizer and pre-filled containers of nicotine liquid, is soaring in popularity.</strong></li><li><strong>Young people appear to be especially drawn to the device, which is discrete enough to hide.</strong></li><li><strong>Juul is emphatic that its product is made to appeal to adults looking to switch from smoking to vaping.</strong></li><li><strong>But some of the same characteristics that make the Juul appealing to adults may also be attractive to teens.</strong><strong><br /></strong></li></ul><p><br />Vaping is becoming increasingly popular, and now a vape pen that's small, discrete, and easy to use is taking over high schools - and the e-cig market.</p><p>The Juul (pronounced "jewel") appears to have a loyal and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/juul-e-cigarettes-are-taking-over-high-schools-2018-3">growing following among young people</a>, who brag on social media about being able to sneak puffs in class or in the bathroom. But it's not just teens who are using it - the device represents <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/juul-e-cigarette-one-million-units-sold-2017-11">a third of the market share</a> of the total e-cig category, according to Nielsen data, meaning a large share of adults are also turning to the Juul.</p><p>Compared with smoking conventional cigarettes - a process that involves setting ablaze a handful of tobacco, tar, and toxic metals - vaping seems objectively healthier. Nothing is burned - only heated - and tobacco doesn't need to be involved at all.</p><p>But vaping still comes with health risks, and these risks may be especially worrisome for young people.</p><p>"The people that are marketing these new devices claim that their main focus is to reduce the risk of smokers, and I agree, vaping probably represents a reduction in risk from smoking," <a href="https://www.jhsph.edu/faculty/directory/profile/1984/ana-mar-a-rule">Ana Rule</a>, a professor of environmental health and engineering at Johns Hopkins University and an author of a study on e-cigs and teens, told Business Insider. "But they fail to address the increased risk to this huge market they are creating among teenagers and young adults that never have smoked, and would have never even considered smoking."</p><h2>'Juul'ing</h2><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Pax Labs</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Among teens, the Juul is not just a noun. It's also a verb.</p><p>Instagram and YouTube are full of videos of teens posting clips of themselves vaping, <a href="https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2017/11/15/where-teenagers-are-high-school-bathrooms-vaping/IJ6xYWWlOTKqsUGTTlw4UO/story.html">or "Juuling,"</a> in class and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Be35B9NADeK/?hl=en&amp;tagged=doit4juul">in front of teachers</a>; a string of <a href="https://www.milfordmirror.com/82390/jonathan-law-limits-bathroom-access-to-combat-vaping/">high schools</a> along the East Coast has acknowledged <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/nation-now/2017/10/31/juul-e-cigs-controversial-vaping-device-popular-school-campuses/818325001/">"Juuling" in bathroom stalls</a> as a widespread problem, and dozens of teachers report confiscating <a href="https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2017/11/15/where-teenagers-are-high-school-bathrooms-vaping/IJ6xYWWlOTKqsUGTTlw4UO/story.html">Juul devices disguised as Sharpies</a> and other classroom items.</p><p>That runs counter to Juul's mission as a company, Ashley Gould, Juul's chief administrative officer, told Business Insider.</p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"Juul is a company that was started by smokers with an objective to switch smokers to non-combustible products," Gould said, adding that the company is vehemently opposed to anyone under 18 using their products and even has a number of campaigns aimed at addressing and curbing underage use. </span></p><p>Nicotine is a highly addictive substance - <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/most-addictive-drugs-ranked-2016-10">one analysis</a> ranks it below heroin and cocaine but above barbiturates (anti-anxiety drugs) and alcohol. Some <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3296289/">85% of people</a> who try to quit smoking on their own relapse.</p><p>Some evidence suggests that e-cigs <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/national-academies-sciences-report-vaping-e-cig-research-health-effects-2017-1-2018-1">may be helpful to adults</a> who are looking to quit smoking. But research also suggests that vaping is an appealing habit to teens, and that those who pick up a vape pen are <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/national-academies-sciences-report-vaping-e-cig-research-health-effects-2017-1-2018-1">at a greater risk of smoking conventional cigarettes</a> than those who never vape.</p><p>That means that while adults who pick up the Juul may be using it to quit, teens who use it may become addicted and eventually turn to traditional cigarettes.</p><h2>Why vaping is so appealing to teens</h2><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Eduardo Munoz/Reuters</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>E-cigs have a handful of qualities besides highly addictive nicotine that may make them especially appealing to young people.</p><p>Unlike conventional cigarettes, which have a natural stop mechanism - they burn to the end - e-cigs can be re-filled and reused. Additionally, where cigarettes are highly noticeable and easily policed, e-cigs are discrete and sometimes odorless (or have a non-offensive smell). Vaping isn't universally banned in indoor and outdoor places.</p><p>The Juul is also sleek, small, colorful, and fairly affordable, at $35 for the pen and $16 for a four-pack of pre-filled cartridges (or "Juul pods").</p><p>But the device is different from most e-cigs in one key way: its nicotine.</p><p>Not only does the Juul have a higher nicotine concentration than other comparable devices (a Juul pod is 5% nicotine by volume; a Blu e-cig cartridge is 2.4%), it also uses a slightly different nicotine formula than most vape pens use.</p><p><a href="https://profiles.stanford.edu/bonnie-halpern-felsher">Bonnie Halpern-Felsher</a>, a professor of pediatrics at Stanford University who studies nicotine and recently published a review of Juul devices, said she found the product's high nicotine content "scary."</p><p>"It is much higher than what we're seeing in conventional e-cigs. It's a tremendous amount," Halpern-Felsher said.</p><p>Instead of straight liquid nicotine, otherwise known as "freebase," Juul uses a patented formula that combines nicotine with salt. The company says the nicotine-salt combination is similar to what's naturally found in the leaves of a tobacco plant; the end result is a stronger e-liquid that vaporizes more smoothly.</p><p><a href="http://pharmacy.uky.edu/faculty/jpauly/James-Pauly">James Pauly</a>, a pharmacologist at the University of Kentucky who studies nicotine, told Business Insider that he'd been reading a lot about Juul devices because their "concentration of nicotine is so high." He said the salt mixture likely makes the vapor less harsh, meaning it's easier to inhale more strongly for longer.</p><p>While an adult smoker might enjoy this aspect of the Juul experience, a teen who's never smoked might end up vaping a dangerous amount of nicotine in one sitting with no knowledge of how much they've consumed.</p><h2>Other health concerns tied to vaping</h2><p>Beyond nicotine addiction, several other health concerns about vaping are starting to emerge.</p><p>One study published last month found some of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/vaping-e-cig-health-effects-toxic-metals-lead-2018-2">same toxic metals in conventional cigarettes</a> in e-cigs. Another found that at least some of those toxins appear to be making their way through vapers' bodies, as evidenced by a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/vaping-e-cig-health-effects-toxic-metals-lead-teen-bodies-2018-3">urine analysis run by researchers</a> who randomly sampled nearly 100 people in the Bay Area who vape.
