Yes. </div></div>Media company <a href="http://beta.flavorpill.com/info/about" target="_blank">Flavorpill</a>, along with <keyword id="816214" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Absolut">Absolut</keyword> Vodka, have come up with a new party concept called <a href="http://thehookup.flavorpill.com/lunchbreak_landing/" target="_blank">Lunch Break</a>. 
Lunch Break is a one-hour, full-on dance party that brings the free spirit of nightlife <keyword id="24504" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="culture">culture</keyword> to <keyword id="1009187" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="the-middle">the middle</keyword> of the day.

This one's for the salad warriors — for the people who normally spend their lunch hour munching on chickpeas, replying to clients' e-mails, or fiddling with their excel models.
Lunch Break offers an alternative. It encourages you to once in a while get out of your seat, bypass your usual chopped salad spot, and go to a rager for an hour. Have one drink. Dance. Then go back to <keyword id="6355058" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Work">work</keyword>, sit in your seat, and get back to your normal routine.
How's that sound?
That's what <keyword id="1736887" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Flavorpill">Flavorpill</keyword> has been trying to get workers around NYC to do since last summer. The media company has been planning some of the most innovative <keyword id="15047" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Parties">parties</keyword> in the country for the last 12 years. They like mashing things up — having dancers in the Guggenheim, putting house DJs in the MoMA. Unique experiences are in their DNA. 
<keyword id="824043" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Business-Insider">Business Insider</keyword> checked out the last <keyword id="106984" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="edition">edition</keyword>, which was held Thursday afternoon in downtown New York City. <keyword id="838507" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="Questlove">Questlove</keyword>, as you probably know, DJ'd.
Questlove is a serious DJ. Lunch Break's spinners have all been top quality. Flavorpill has picked serious New York City nightclubs as the venues. Lunch Break isn't an amateur attempt at a gimmick party, it's the real deal. 
Founder Sascha Lewis explained that the combination of aesthetics is an important part of the experience of escape. At the party, he's everywhere — part host, part hype man, dancing hard and moving incognito among the crowd.
Flavorpill is trying to use culture to transport you to a different place where all that matters is the party, he explained in a phone interview.
The <keyword id="6354530" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="music">music</keyword> wakes people's bodies up.
"That's part of the mission of Flavorpill," said Lewis, "to get people off the couch and away from their computers and out having amazing cultural experiences."
Lunch Breaks are an idea that may have come at just the right time as more and more workers have flexible schedules and can work remotely.
Nate, a 38-year-old ad salesmen we met at the party said plainly: "As long as I get my work done, my boss doesn't care."
Nate has been to Lunch Break parties before. As he flirted with us, he said the concept was good, the music was always top notch and the <keyword id="624" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Women">women</keyword> were always good looking. 
It's light-hearted fun in the middle of a work day. There were <keyword id="16441" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="suits">suits</keyword> and creatives there. We met lawyers and even a banker, and no, he wouldn't tell us what he does. At the end of the party Flavorpill sends partiers home with a brown paper bag lunch.
Lewis is now working on expanding Lunch Break to Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.

Lunch Break Ragers Are Totally A Thing In New York City [PHOTOS]

<div class="image-container float_right" style="width:400px"><div class="image"></div><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/adrants/4081286597/">adrants/Flickr</a></div>Instead of eating lunch at their desks, workers are going <keyword id="4128629" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="clubbing">clubbing</keyword> for an hour at daytime dance parties that are springing up in <keyword id="72226" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="New-York-City">New York City</keyword> and around the world.
The trend first started in Sweden with <a href="http://www.lunchbeat.org/" target="_blank">Lunch Beat</a>, dreamed up by Molly Range, <a href="http://www.forbes.com/sites/parmyolson/2012/05/16/meet-the-woman-behind-europes-lunchtime-dance-craze/">Forbes reported last year</a>.
Range had envisioned an event reminiscent of "Fight Club" where white collar workers could go crazy in the middle of the day. “You don’t talk about your job at lunch beat,” she told Forbes. “If it’s your first dance at lunch beat, you have to dance.”
Unlike "Fight Club," though, everyone talks about Lunch Beat. The <a href="http://www.lunchbeat.org/about/q-as/" target="_blank">not-for-profit, $15 lunch dance parties</a> have expanded to cities like Boston, Montreal, NYC, Seattle, and Vienna.
Culture website Flavorpill also throws a lunch party in New York City. Called "<a href="http://thehookup.flavorpill.com/lunchbreak_landing/" target="_blank">Lunch Break</a>," and it has been growing in popularity since last summer, <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/09/fashion/for-office-workers-lunchtime-dance-parties.html?smid=tw-share&amp;_r=2&amp;" target="_blank">according to The New York Times</a>.
The Flavorpill events take place on Fridays from 1-2 PM, and attendees get a drink ticket for a free cocktail of vodka and fruit punch, as well as a paper bag lunch with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and an apple when they leave.
The NYT's Sheila Marikar attended a Lunch Break event in April, and wrote that the 9-to-5 workers danced to DJ-spun hip hop and electronic music as if it were 2 a.m. 
It might as well be. Most of the NYC mid-day parties take place at popular nightclubs, such as Marquee and The Standard's Le Bain. There's usually a live DJ, glow sticks, and wayfarers for guests to wear during the hour-long dance parities.
The only real differences are that no one's drunk, everyone's wearing their work clothes, and you will be back at your desk in an hour.

The New Trend For Office Workers Is A Lunchtime Trip To The Nightclub

That's right. I said it. Call your older cousin who used to party at The Tunnel every night and gives you "man-you-should-have-been-there" stories every time he sees you.
Dig out your old pictures of made-up club kids freak dancing at Limelight back in '92. I don't care.
Saying the past was better than what we have now is easy. It excuses you from finding killer parties, and New York City has them - more than it's had in a long time.
"If I go out and I'm not working the next day, I'm out til 6 or 7 am," said Bruce Tantum, editor of Time Out New York's nightlife section. "There are more illegal options too." (Not that we'd sell them out here.)
A brief history lesson for those of you who don't know what the old-timers have been complaining about. It all started with Mayor Giuliani. You wouldn't know it to look at the guy, but he was basically a 19th century school marm when it came to partying. If there was joy, he found it and killed it. Strict cabaret laws made it harder to dance, higher rents made it harder for clubs to find space.
That's when bottle service took over NYC clubs.
And you probably know about that bottle service stuff: Throw down a couple hundred for a bottle that you can get at your local liquor store for $30, wait in line with a bunch of girls you may or may not have recruited down the street because there are too many guys in your group, kiss a promoter's butt. Get in. Be crowded.
Or don't get in, get rejected.
At this point in 2014 New York City's club scene has evolved beyond that. DJ culture has created segments of dance music for everyone from your sorority 'woo-girls' in heels and band-aid dresses to your genuine club kids wearing sneakers and tees because they want to get down.
"The scene's really diverse now," said Sascha Lewis, CEO of culture site <a href="http://flavorpill.com/newyork" target="_blank">Flavorpill.</a> "You can have a night out where you can hear Questlove play a great hip-hop soul funk set. You can go to Output and hear some dirty techno from Europe ... and you can go to an amazing underground house music party."
The list goes on. Don't want to stand in line for a meatpacking club but you want to hear music from Top 40 charting DJs? Fine. Pay a fee and get into Marquee or Pasha, no problem.
For the music snobs - the real heads - last year, New York City got Output, a 436-person club with one of the best sound systems in the country located in Williamsburg. More recently, Output got a (weirder) little sister in <a href="http://www.verbotennewyork.com/" target="_blank">Verboten</a> - a club just down the street that promises much of what Output does: long nights, internationally respected DJs, open parties, and lots of dancing.
For the real warriors, there are the sweaty dance parties taming Bushwick, like Bossa Nova Civic Club and Tandem.
And what if you want to party at some weird hour? Flavorpill has your back for that. Part of the reason for all of this is because the Brooklyn scene grew up. The guys who 8-10 years ago had just gotten out of college or moved to the city from bubble-wherever have grown up. They have bills to pay, so they've started amazing venues like Brooklyn Bowl.
"It lends more legitimacy to the scene than the sweaty one-off parties in warehouses that used to dominate it," said Lewis. "The whole Burning Man meets Brooklyn barrage of before was edgy for what it was, but everyone had to grow up."
This isn't to say that the underground scene is dead. Quite the contrary. It's still humming along, throwing bigger, later parties. Yes, sometimes they get busted - but isn't it worth it to see a French kid who doesn't speak a word of English happily dancing on a trampoline next to a do-or-die New Yorker who just drove over with his friends from Bayside, Queens?
Like I said, the scene's diverse.
For most people, night time is the most free time they have crammed together in one go. Days are often full of drudgery - of phone calls, appointments, and small-time conversation. At night, though, you can go out and find whatever makes you happy. Night belongs to you.
That's what makes all this worth reading about in the first place.
