Hiring for roles in artificial intelligence (AI) and Oil &amp; Gas sectors has witnessed a growth of over 20 per cent in the month of February 2024, a new report showed on Monday. According to the Naukri JobSpeak Index, AI-related roles such as Machine Learning Engineer and Full Stack AI Scientist jumped a staggering 100 per cent and 44 per cent, respectively, in February 2024 vs last year. In the Oil &amp; Gas sector, hiring increased by 21 per cent in February this year compared to last year. AI, Oil & Gas sectors show over 20% growth in hiring in Feb: Report

Over 58 lakh candidates have registered for the UP Board 2023 examinations which will begin from February 16. Of these 31.2 lakh students are for Class 10 and 27.5 lakh students are for Class 12. The examinations will be held at 8,752 centres across 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh. According to the timetable for 2023 examinations released by secretary, UP Secondary Education Board, Divyakant Shukla, the Class 10 examinations will be held in 13 working days and will end on March 3. The Class 12 examinations will be held in 14 working days and will end on March 4. For the first time, UP Board examinees will get stitched answer sheets. The move is aimed at preventing the copy mafia from changing answer sheets of meritorious students because in the previous years there were complaints of changing copies by removing staples. Also, answer sheets given to the students will have barcodes and monograms on them. The initiatives are being taken with an aim to eliminate the scope of manipulation of answer sheets. The Board will also conduct random checks of some answer sheets using the barcodes which will further put a noose around those involved in copying. Over three crore answer sheets will be required for the UP Board examinations. Model exam questions for Class 10 and Class 12. Exports, however, declined 38 per cent last month at 1,26,935 units, as against 2,03,273 units in February 2022. Two-wheeler wholesales in the domestic market rose 25 per cent to 1,20,335 units, as compared to 96,523 units in the year-ago period. Two-wheeler exports, however, dipped 37 per cent to 1,15,021 units, from 1,82,814 units in February last year. Total two-wheeler dispatches in the domestic market declined by 16 per cent to 2,35,356 units last month, as compared to 2,79,337 units in the year-ago period. Chhattisgarh to reopen schools for classes 9 to 12 from Feb 15

Furthermore, India’s banks won’t have to categorise around ₹1.8 trillion worth of loans to 34 coal-based thermal power plants as “non-performing”. The relief also extends to ₹840 billion worth of loans to companies in other sectors such as sugar, shipping and infrastructure. The rationale behind the circular was to tighten the noose on cash-strapped companies and force banks to account for bad loans immediately. It did lead to a dramatic reduction in defaults, as loans were borrowers did not pay installments on time fell by <a href="https://www.livemint.com/Industry/4qEIqln9QsZYsMBsQPLtlK/Large-borrowers-fall-in-line-after-RBI-one-day-default-norm.html">60% to ₹551 billion</a> between June and September 2018. India's Supreme Court order against the RBI will be a huge relief for 75 borrowers with loans worth over ₹2.4 trillion

New Delhi, Mar 13 () Vegetable oil imports fell 10.5 per cent to 11.12 lakh tonnes last month, mainly due to lower shipments of refined palm oil, according to industry data. Import of vegetable oil during February 2020 is reported at 11,12,478 tonnes compared to 12,42,533 tonnes in February 2019, the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) said in a statement. Out of total vegetable oil imports last month, 10,89,661 tonnes was edible oil, while 22,817 tonnes was non-edible oil, SEA said. The overall import of vegetable oil during November 2019 to February 2020 fell 6.1 per cent to 45,63,791 tonnes compared to 48,62,849 tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year. Oil year runs from November to October. "In view of placing RBD Palmolein under restricted list with effect from January 8, 2020, its import has drastically reduced in February 2020 at 33,677 tons," SEA said. "Import of crude sunflower and crude soyabean oil sharply increased as spread between palm oil and soft oils reduced to nearly USD 75 to 80 per tonne, encouraging larger import of soft oils," it added. Veg oil imports down 10.5 pc to 11.12 lakh tonnes in Feb

Chandigarh, Jan 31 () The Amarinder Singh-led Punjab government will present its budget for 2020-21 on February 25.
 This was decided at a cabinet meeting here on Friday.
 The cabinet decided to summon the 11th session (Budget Session) of the 15th Punjab Vidhan Sabha from February 20 to 28, according to an official spokesperson.
 As per the schedule, the Budget Session would commence on February 20 at 11 am with obituary references, followed by the presentation of a Bill regarding the Punjabi language at 12 noon.
 On February 24, the motion of thanks and discussion on Governor's Address would take place at 11 am, to be resumed in the afternoon at 2 pm, after lunch break, till the conclusion of the same.
 The report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India for 2018-19 (civil, commercial), financial accounts of Punjab government for 2018-19, and Appropriation Accounts for 2018-19 would be laid on the table of the House on February 25 at 10 am.
 Supplementary demands for grants for 2019-20, Appropriation Bill on supplementary demands for grants for 2019-20, and Budget estimates for 2020-21 would be presented before the House on February 25. General discussion on the Budget estimates for the year 2020-21 would resume at 10 am on February 26 till their conclusion.
 Non-official business would be conducted at 10 am on February 27, followed by discussion and voting on demands regarding Budget estimates for the year 2020-21, Appropriation Bill in respect of budget estimates for the year 2020-21 and legislative business. The inflation in the food basket was 10.81 per cent in February 2020, lower from 13.63 per cent in the previous month, as per the CPI data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO). The Reserve Bank of India mainly factors in the retail inflation while deciding its bi-monthly monetary policy. The government has mandated the central bank to keep inflation at around 4 per cent. (Eds: Adding details) New Delhi, Mar 12 () Retail inflation dropped for the first time after six months in February, easing to 6.58 per cent as prices of vegetables and other kitchen items cooled, government data showed on Thursday. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based retail inflation, however, still continues to rule above the comfort level of the Reserve Bank of India. The retail inflation was 7.59 per cent in January this year and 2.57 per cent in February 2019. Inflation was 10.2 per cent in the meat and fish segment in February, compared to 10.5 per cent in the previous month. The CPI-based inflation has been on the rise since August 2019, and it is for the first time it has moved southward since then. Data showed inflation in vegetable prices cooled off significantly to 31.61 per cent from a high of 50.19 per cent in January. The rate of price rise was also slower in case of protein-rich items pulses and eggs. The inflation in the food basket was 10.81 per cent in February 2020, lower from 13.63 per cent in the previous month, as per the CPI data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO). However, the inflation in the 'fuel and light' segment almost doubled to 6.36 per cent in February over the preceding month. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) mainly factors in the retail inflation while deciding its bi-monthly monetary policy. The government has mandated the central bank to keep inflation at around 4 per cent. In its last meeting, the RBI had kept the key lending rate (repo) unchanged at 5.15 per cent amid hardening inflation and an uncertain global environment. Commenting on the data, Rahul Gupta, Head of Research- Currency, Emkay Global Financial Services, said retail inflation for February has cooled due to moderation in food prices. However, the figure remained elevated above the Monetary Policy Committee's target, he said. "Due to the coronavirus uncertainty, we expect RBI to take pre-emptive measure anytime soon or at April's MPC policy and cut repo rate. If the virus spreads further very rapidly then we can expect a deeper cut of 50 bps by RBI," Gupta said. The clamor seemed to have an effect, and Polish soldiers returned and opened the doors. Women with young children could disembark first, and this freed up space so that the remaining passengers could spread out and stretch out.Outside, Polish passport control officers worked quickly, and people were directed to trains and buses.On the newly built, multi-lane highway to Poland's capital, Warsaw, many of the cars were streaked with mud and carried Ukrainian license plates.
