New Delhi-based is now a part of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/A-Twitter-cofounder-nailed-the-scope-of-Facebooks-fake-news-problem-with-one-screenshot/articleshow/55588599.cms">Facebook’s </a>developer-focused program 'FbStart' which caters to the early-stage and <keyword id="3899856" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="mobile-focused-startups">mobile-focused startups</keyword>.<br />
<br /> <keyword id="3899855" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Partiko">Partiko</keyword> <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> app allows users to discover events like Nightlife, Music, Food, Drink, Wine, Concerts, Experiences, Sports, Travel, and Startup in Delhi-NCR region. The startup will be expanding to other cities like Mumbai and Bangalore.<br />

The idea is the brainchild of an IITian from Roorkee Amanjot Malhotra, who worked with a couple of tech start-ups after graduating in 2013 and before kickstarting his entrepreneurial stint.<br />
<br />
His app as of now recommends an everyday personalised list of Delhi events for users at the location of their choice. Also, it helps them find trending events for the coming weekend, weekdays or any major holidays in advance.<br />
<br />
Amanjot was determined to build a product which allowed easy event discovery in metropolitan cities. Apart from ticketing, the platform also provides white-branded solutions to large scale event organisers such as website, mobile apps, experiential products etc.<br />
<br />
Another interesting feature is that Partiko allows users to personalise their feeds by tags and interests. Notably, the platform has also integrated other popular social platforms which allow the users to share their posts on other platforms which expand its reach.<br />
<br />
Currently, the company is bootstrapped and it is in talks with investors to raise a seed round in the next 3 months. The upcoming funding will be used for app development, hiring, merchant acquisition as well as for marketing purposes.<br />
<br /> Under the <keyword id="3899854" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="FbStart-program">FbStart program</keyword>, this bootstrapped startup which launched its web platform ‘Partiko’ in August this year, will receive services and credits worth $40,000.<br />
<br /> The services will include mentorship from Menlo Park-headquartered <keyword id="6354576" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Facebook">Facebook</keyword>’s engineering teams and services from its partners like Amazon Web Services, Annie, Dropbox, Adobe and MailChimp.<br />
<br />
Partiko has another credit to its name, and that is - It has also been a finalist for the payTM 1 Crore challenge this year and is currently working on a sponsorship marketplace EventsCrunch, which will be launched in the first quarter of 2017.<br />
<br />
It currently has over 15,000 users. The startup is now focusing on MUNs, startup, college and music events and also plans to expand to Mumbai and Bangalore. In the next 6 months, the platform plans to go social and aim to engage more users. Also, the focus will be on to take the revenue in eight digits.<br />
<br />
The team says - “First of all FbStart program helped us curb down on our server billings which have sky-rocketed without even marketing the platform, also it will be an added boost and receiving mentorship from the pioneer of social networking will be a huge opportunity as we too are focusing on the similar segment in the longer run.” <br />
<br />
They further added that their current focus is to enhance user-experience and grow the user base.<br />
<br />
The startup will face competition from Bookmyshow, explara and meraevents which are already big and established players in the market. However, the founders believe that their product will be able to offer much more in the coming months and also there is always room for improvement.<br />
<br />
In August, ET had reported that the Mark Zuckerberg-led company has distributed more than $21 million worth benefits to startups in India and more than $50 million worth benefits to startups in Asia through its FbStart program.

"Especially in APAC, but in India in particular." </span></span></p><p><span><span>Today - when more than 70% of developers who integrate their apps with Facebook </span></span>live outside the US - India has the largest Facebook international developer community of any other region in the world. More than 75 percent of top-grossing apps in India are integrated with Facebook.</p><p>Liu gushed about one FBStart-assisted app in particular: a <a href="http://cardback.in/">payments recommendation startup called CardBack</a>. The app helps you decide which credit card you should use in any given situation based on which rewards each offers.</p><p>Cardback deomonstrates the perfect Facebook trifecta. </p><p>The app has <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-third-party-identity-provider-2015-7">baked-in Facebook Login</a>, meaning that users can sign-up using their Facebook account, it drives its growth through Facebook mobile app install ads, and it monetizes via the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-audience-network-available-to-all-advertisers-2014-10">Facebook Audience Network. </a></p><p>Liu says that using mobile app install ads (for free, thanks to a chunk of Facebook ad credits given to FBStart companies), Cardback increased their installs by 5x in six months. </p><p>Cardback's model of relying so heavily on the Facebook ecosystem for growth and monetization is exactly what the company wants to see from as many developers in that region as possible.</p><h2><span><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Facebook</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>Why India is so important for Facebook</span></h2><p><span>Right now, only a sliver of India's population is online, but it still has the </span><a href="http://www.internetlivestats.com/internet-users/">third greatest number of internet users</a><span> in the world, after China and the United States, and is </span><a href="http://www.wsj.com/articles/alibaba-foxconn-in-talks-to-invest-500-million-in-indias-snapdeal-1434444149">similarly ranked in smartphone penetration</a><span>.</span></p><p><span>In 2010, Facebook had <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/social.media/07/22/facebook.500million/">only 8 million users in India</a>. Why Facebook is investing so much money in Indian startups

<p>The initiative was announced at Facebook's F8 conference for developers.</p>
<p>Facebook is making a huge push to take over the mobile app business from the ground up. Facebook owns a company called Parse, which provides backend services for app developers. Any company can use some or all of Parse's services and tools, which are stored in the cloud - so companies don't need to run their own servers to maintain their apps. They can just let Facebook and Parse do it.</p>
<p>A majority of Facebook's users now access the social network on mobile devices. CEO Mark Zuckerberg told F8 today that he basically sees mobile apps as the future of Facebook's business. (That's also why he's splitting off pieces of Facebook into separate apps, like Messenger for messages; and why he acquired Instagram and WhatsApp.)</p>
<p>In fact, Facebook has driven 350 million mobile app "installs" (or downloads) thus far.</p>
<p>The cost of creating an app has been falling for years. Back in the day, it would take millions of dollars in development costs and programmer salaries to create huge new apps. But today, a couple of college kids living in their parents' house can make the most popular apps on the planet in just a few weeks, for a few thousand dollars. That's exactly what happened at Snapchat - CEO Evan Spiegel and his team created the messaging app at his father's house on a summer break from college.</p>
<p>So $30,000 of free app creation and distribution services could - in theory -  seed a wave of new app development, all using Facebook's platforms. The program positions Facebook as app developers' greatest friend. They have to qualify, of course, but the program is open to all developers regardless of which platform they're creating on (ie Apple's iOS or Google's Android).</p>
