On the BSE, it rallied 10.07 per cent to Rs 262.95. In the intraday trade, shares of IREDA advanced more than 11 per cent to hit a high of Rs 265.75 and 265.70 apiece on the BSE and NSE, respectively. The 30-share BSE Sensex rallied 242.61 points or 0.30 per cent to 81,147.91 points, while NSE Nifty jumped 74.95 points to 24,845.15. The funds would be raised in one or more tranches through Further Public Offer (FPO) / Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) / Rights Issue / Preferential Issue or any other permitted mode or combination, subject to the statutory or government approval, the company said in a regulatory filing. IREDA, under the Ministry of New &amp; Renewable Energy, is engaged in providing finance to mainly renewable energy projects. The fundraising assumes significance as India has an ambitious target of having 500 GW renewable energy by 2030 and needs to add about 50 GW capacity per annum to achieve the goal.

The stock made its debut at Rs 111.60, up 3.33 per cent from the issue price on the BSE. Later, it climbed 12.40 per cent to Rs 121.40. At the NSE, it listed at Rs 111.50, up 3.24 per cent. The company's market valuation stood at Rs 1,02,211.38 crore during the morning trade. Shares of NTPC climbed nearly 2 per cent to Rs 368.80 on the BSE. The <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">initial public offering</keyword> of NTPC Green Energy Ltd got subscribed 2.40 times on the closing day of the share sale on Friday. The Rs 10,000-crore share sale had a price band of Rs 102-108 per share. Proceeds from the <keyword id="19898327" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPO" source="keywords">IPO</keyword>, about Rs 7,500 crore at the upper band, will be used to repay or prepay part or all of its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd's (NREL) outstanding loans, and a portion will be utilised for general corporate purposes. NTPC Green Energy is a 'Maharatna' central public sector enterprise with a renewable energy portfolio, including solar and wind power assets.

As per the official statement from RBI on Friday, it has imposed a monetary <keyword id="19899183" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="penalty" source="keywords">penalty</keyword> of Rs 5 lakh on <keyword id="23068625" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Godrej-Housing-Finance" source="keywords">Godrej Housing Finance</keyword> Limited, Rs 5 lakh on <keyword id="20389260" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aadhar-Housing-Finance" source="keywords">Aadhar Housing Finance</keyword> Limited, and Rs 3.5 lakh on Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited. These penalties by the regulator have been imposed in the exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 52A of the <keyword id="20200606" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Housing-Bank" source="keywords">National Housing Bank</keyword> Act, 1987. As per RBI, the statutory inspection of these companies was conducted by the National Housing Bank (NHB) with reference to their financial positions as of March 31, 2022. The RBI stated that based on the supervisory findings of non-compliance with RBI directions and related correspondence in that regard, a notice was issued to the companies advising them to show cause as to why a penalty should not be imposed on them for their failure to comply with the RBI directions. After considering the companies' replies to the notice, oral submissions during the personal hearing, and additional submissions made by them, the RBI found that Godrej Housing Finance Limited failed to obtain two independent valuation reports before sanctioning certain loans of Rs 75 lakh and above. For Aadhar Housing Finance Limited, the RBI stated that the company charged interest on loans for a period prior to the date of the actual disbursement of the loan/issuance of the check to certain borrowers, in contravention of RBI directions on the 'Fair Practices Code.' The penalty on Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited has been imposed because the company failed to undertake risk categorization of its customers during the financial year 2021-22, did not put in place a system for periodic review of risk categorization of accounts, and did not create a floating charge on the assets invested by it in terms of Section 29B of the NHB Act, in favor of its depositors, and register the same with the Registrar of Companies.

Apollo Green Energy to go public next year – aims to build ₹10,000 crore project portfolio

On Thursday, Inox Wind Ltd (IWL) said its promoter IWEL has infused Rs 900 crore into the company, following which the wind energy solutions provider will become a <keyword id="22282357" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="net-debt-free" source="keywords">net debt-free</keyword> company. "This fund infusion will help us become a net debt-free company, strengthening our balance sheet and help accelerate our growth. We expect substantial savings in interest expenses going ahead, aiding our profitability further," <keyword id="19951113" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kailash-tarachandani" source="keywords">Kailash Tarachandani</keyword>, CEO of Inox Wind said. The funds were raised by the IWEL on May 28, 2024, through sale of equity shares of IWL through block deals on the stock exchanges, witnessing participation of several marquee investors, as per the company statement. The funds will be utilised by Inox Wind Ltd to completely pare down its external term debt to achieve a net debt-free status, it added. Net Debt is a metric that determines how well a company can repay all of its debt it was due immediately. "Net debt free status is excluding promoter debt," Inox Wind said.

Inox Wind shares surges over 14% after promoter entity infuse Rs 900 cr

The IPO of ACME Solar, which opened for subscription yesterday, has been subscribed 1.81x in the retail investors category and 0.6x overall. The offer, worth Rs 2,900 crore, is a combination of Rs 2,395 crore of fresh issue and Rs 505 crore worth of OFS (offer for sale). With a price band of Rs 275-289, the IPO will close for subscription tomorrow. Retail investors can invest in a minimum of 1 lot of 51 shares, bringing the total amount to Rs 14,739. The company is set to list on both NSE and BSE on November 13, 2024. Despite the company's strong presence in the renewable energy space, the company's GMP (grey market premium) remains muted, almost negligible, trading at Rs 0 today. ACME's GMP has been dipping ever since November 30, 2024, when it stood at Rs 30. The allotment of shares is scheduled for November 11, 2024, with a tentative listing date on the BSE and NSE set for November 13, 2024. The company amassed Rs 1,300.5 crore via the issue of 4.5 crore equity shares from anchor investors ahead of its IPO. Around 1.5 crore equity shares, or about 33.4% of the total anchor book, were lapped up by 8 domestic mutual fund houses through a total of 17 schemes. <h2>About the company </h2>ACME Solar is one of India's top 10 renewable energy-independent power producers. To date, the company has developed a total of 2,719 MW of solar power projects. In terms of financial performance, over the last three fiscal years, the company has reported (on a consolidated basis) a total income of Rs 1,562.73 crore in FY22, Rs 1,361.67 crore in FY23, and Rs 1,466.27 crore in FY24. In terms of net profit/loss, ACME Solar incurred a net profit of Rs 62.01 crore in FY22, a loss of Rs 3.15 crore in FY23, and Rs 697.78 crore in FY24. For the first quarter of FY25, the company's revenue from operations stood at Rs 340.01 crore, while earning a net profit of Rs 1.39 crore. The company intends to utilize the IPO proceeds to repay and prepay part of its outstanding borrowings, and also for general corporate purposes. However, the company is not without its fair share of risks. Around 63.22% of its FY24 revenue is concentrated in just three Indian states—Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana. Also, the company's business is highly dependent on its top 10 off-takers, which contributed 95.42% to its revenue as of the quarter ended June 30, 2024, 87.48% to its revenue in FY23, and 81.11% to the company's income in FY22. The loss of any of these off-takers can have adverse effects on their business, financial condition, results of operations, and cash flows. Moreover, not only does its growth depend on winning highly competitive project bids, but it is also highly reliant on government-owned transmission grids and infrastructure. <h2>Should you subscribe? </h2>Per Bajaj Broking, the issue appears to be aggressively priced, yet they would recommend subscribing to the IPO for the long term. "Over the past three fiscal years, the company has achieved an average EPS of Rs. 6.44 and an average RoNW of 13.95%. The issue is priced at a P/BV of 7.77 based on its NAV of Rs 37.19 as of June 30, 2024. When annualizing FY25 earnings to the post-IPO fully diluted equity base, the asking price results in a P/E of 3211.11, while based on FY24 earnings, the P/E stands at 25.06". However, there are financial concerns that cannot be ignored. "FY24 appears to be an exceptional year with significantly boosted profits, but otherwise, the company has shown inconsistent top and bottom lines over the reported periods. Its debt-equity ratio of 3.89 as of June 30, 2024, is notably high and raises concerns," it adds. According to Anand Rathi Research, the IPO can be subscribed to in the long run. "At the upper price band, the company is valued at a P/E of 30.17x, with an EV/EBITDA of 22.4x and a market cap of Rs 1,74,868 million post-issue of equity shares and a return on net worth of 26.93%. We believe that the IPO is richly priced," adds the note.

The company's <keyword id="19985211" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="net-worth" source="keywords">net worth</keyword> also saw a significant jump from Rs 8,599.43 crore as of March 31st, 2024, to Rs 9,110.49 crore as of June 2024. For the quarter ended June 2023, IREDA's net worth was Rs 6,290.40 crore. On a year-on-year basis, the company also managed to bring down its <keyword id="21183774" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="debt-equity-ratio" source="keywords">debt-equity ratio</keyword> from 6.35 as of June 2023 to 5.83 as of June 2024. Notably, a lower debt-equity ratio indicates that the company does not have high debts commensurate with its equities and is relatively debt-free. On a year-to-year basis, the company also succeeded in bringing down its net <keyword id="21671151" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="non-performing-asset-ratio" source="keywords">non-performing asset ratio</keyword> from 1.61% during the same period last year to 0.95% during April–June 2024. At a little over 25%, the company largely kept its net profit margins steady. At the close of day's trade today, IREDA was trading at Rs 284.00, up by 0.11%.The stock has had an impressive year so far, generating a YTD (yield-to-date) of about 171%. However, the last quarter saw IREDA's operating margins shrink slightly on a YoY basis, from 38.42% as of June, 23 to 31.47% as of June 2024. The company's EPS (earning per share) also inched up from 1.29 in June 2023 to 1.43 as of June 30th, 2024. Recently, the company raised Rs 2,500 crore via private placement in June 2024, for general corporate purposes and funding renewable energy projects.

IREDA Q1 results: Profit after tax jumps to Rs 38,369.34 lakh

As of 2:45 pm today, <keyword id="19895974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="waaree" source="keywords">Waaree</keyword>'s stock was trading at Rs 2,356.20, down by 5.75% on NSE, while on BSE, the stock was trading at Rs 2,358.20, down by as much as 7.76%. Notably, the stock was listed at Rs 2,550 on the BSE today and Rs 2,500 on the NSE. After hitting an intra-day high of Rs 2,624 during the day, Waaree's stocks also slumped to a low of Rs 2,300 on the NSE, where its total <keyword id="19932516" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="market-cap" source="keywords">market cap</keyword> stood at Rs 68,660.68 crore. Waaree's offer worth Rs 4,321.44 crore saw a thumping reception from investors across all categories and, overall, was subscribed to around 79.44 times. Retail investors oversubscribed 11.27x times to the issue, bidding for 11,16,95,301 shares, as opposed to 99,11,869 shares reserved for them. The price band for the <keyword id="19898327" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPO" source="keywords">IPO</keyword> was set between Rs 1,427 and Rs 1,503, with investors required to subscribe to a minimum of 9 shares. However, <keyword id="21713453" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="QIBs" source="keywords">QIBs</keyword> (qualified institutional buyers) were the most enthusiastic takers of this offer, oversubscribing 215.03x to the issue. As against 55,38,663 shares earmarked for them, QIBs bid for a staggering 1,21,79,37,402 shares. Data suggests that on BSE, as of 2:30 pm, about 70,893 shares of Waaree had been bought, while a massive 7,26,330 shares had been sold during the day. Clearly, the stock saw heavy profit booking today, with investors looking to make an exit with substantial listing gains.
