	“This new product will strengthen and definitely help to increase our market share. But whether it will help us to lead the market, I don’t know, but at least in the high-end market we expect to have a more dominant market with this,” said Andrew to Business Insider.<br />

	How is Canon strategising to increase their brand value as what works for Nikon in India is the brand?<br />
	<br />
	 

	Andrew added that India is a unique market as certain brands which do very well here does not do well in other countries. Moreover India is not one whole country as far as camera trends are concerned, for the southern market is better than the northern market.<br />
	<br />
	 

	“Brand building is not an overnight task. We are building upon our brand to help people understand better what Canon stands for,” he said to Business Insider.<br />

Canon India introduces world's highest resolution full frame DSLR cameras

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><ul><li><strong>A 30-year veteran of NASA photography set up automated cameras around <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/spacex">SpaceX</a>'s recent rocket launch.</strong></li><li><strong>One of the cameras melted to a crisp in a brush fire that was lit by the rocket's super-hot exhaust plume.</strong></li><li><strong>Though <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/nasa">NASA</a>'s camera may not be insured, it did manage to protect incredible images that show its fiery death.</strong></li></ul><p>On May 22, NASA photographer Bill Ingalls left six cameras near a 230-foot-tall SpaceX rocket just before it <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/watch-spacex-rocket-launch-live-2018-5">blasted toward space</a>.</p><p>Like other photographers who'd traveled to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California for the event, Ingalls positioned his camera gear at locations near the launchpad that he thought were safe. The remote cameras are designed to&#xa0;automatically capture stunning up-close images once the thunderous roar of the rocket is heard.</p><p>SpaceX successfully launched five telecommunications satellites and two gravity-mapping NASA spacecraft into orbit. But when Ingalls went to retrieve one of his <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/falcon-heavy-spacex-epic-rocket-launch-in-person-2018-2">remote camera setups</a>&#xa0;afterwards, the 30-year veteran of NASA photography was surprised to find firefighters huddled around what he now calls his "Toasty" camera.</p><p>"I had many other cameras much closer to the pad than this and all are safe," Ingalls wrote in <a href="https://www.facebook.com/bingalls/posts/10213781978078424">a Facebook post</a>. "This was result of a small brush fire, which is not unheard of from launches, and was extinguished by fireman, albeit, after my cam was baked."</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>Ingalls says he lost a <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Canon-EOS-Digital-Body-Only/dp/B00T3ERPT8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Canon EOS 5Ds camera body</a>, a <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Canon-EF-24-105mm-USM-Lens/dp/B01KURGS9O/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Canon 24-105mm lens</a>, and a tripod owned by NASA. His setup also included a microphone and remote-triggering box.<p>If purchased new today, such a collection of gear might cost about $5,000.</p><p>"I could not answer if this NASA gear is insured by NASA," Ingalls told Business Insider in an email. "We will replace these units."</p><p>Though the camera died, it managed to protect some precious cargo: a memory card full of images of its fiery doom, not to mention photos of SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket leaving the launchpad.</p><p>NASA <a href="https://www.nasa.gov/feature/what-really-happened-to-that-melted-nasa-camera" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> an animation on Friday that shows a time-lapse sequence all of the photos taken by Ingalls' remote camera during and after the launch. A NASA photographer's camera melted during a SpaceX rocket launch - and he's not sure whether it's insured

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson</span></p><p class="caption">Note: Not the planes photographed by Canon's new sensor.</p></div><p></p></div></div>Canon's latest camera sensor is seriously powerful.</p><p>Just <em>how</em> powerful?</p><p>According to the Japanese camera company, "when installed in a camera, the newly developed sensor was able to capture images enabling the distinguishing of lettering on the side of an airplane flying at a distance of approximately 18 km from the shooting location."</p><p>On Monday, Canon announced its latest camera sensor. It clocks in at a staggering 250 megapixels - five times higher than its next most powerful sensor.</p><p>That's the 50.6 megapixel one found in the EOS 5DS; the 250 megapixel sensor is also <em>smaller</em> in size than the one in the 5DS. (<a href="http://www.theverge.com/2015/9/6/9270865/canon-announces-250-megapixel-sensor">We first saw this news on The Verge</a>.)</p><p>The new sensor, which is APS-H size (29.2 by 20.2 millimeter), is also capable of shooting video at five frames per second. The company say its resolution is 125 times that of Full HD, and 30 times that of 4K video.</p><p>The resolution of uncropped photos shot on the sensor is 19,580 by 12,600 pixels. For reference, the resolution of the iPhone 6's 8 megapixel camera is 3,264 by 2,448 pixels.</p><p>When discussing cameras, it's important to note that megapixels aren't everything. There are numerous other factors at play that determine image quality, from the size of the sensor to the quality of the lens in front of it, and the on-board software for processing the raw data. It's why modern smartphone cameras will be significantly worse than professional DSLR cameras from a few years ago, despite having a higher megapixel count.</p><p>Canon produces world-class hardware and lens glass, however: While the company hasn't provided any example shots, the images the sensor captures are likely to be very, very high quality.</p><p>It doesn't look like Canon intends to use the sensor in consumer camera equipment. In a statement, the company said it is "considering the application of this technology in specialized surveillance and crime prevention tools, ultra-high-resolution measuring instruments and other industrial equipment, and the field of visual expression."</p><h2><strong>Here's a prototype device equipped with the sensor, along with the sensor itself:</strong></h2><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"><p class="source"><span>Canon</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Canon is no stranger to devices with far-out specs. <a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/canons-new-camera-can-see-in-extreme-dark-2015-7">In July 2015, it unveiled the ME20F-SH</a> - a device capable at shooting with a sensitivity of 4,000,000 ISO. A higher ISO lets the photographer use a higher shutter speed or in lower light conditions.
