<p>The premise is simple. Your phone goes off between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m., and your buddy tells you that he's has just lost 300 euros (about $400) in a card game, and won't be allowed out of the poker den unless you can come up with the money immediately.</p>
<p>The execution — as always, when it comes to Duval Guillaume's ads — is complicated. (The agency also did TNT's "<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/this-real-life-insane-belgian-tnt-stunt-got-5-million-views-in-24-hours-2012-4">dramatic surprise</a>" ad and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/this-coke-ad-in-which-ordinary-folks-are-suddenly-forced-into-a-007-foot-chase-is-utterly-charming-2012-10">Coke's 007 foot chase video</a>). The put-upon friend (who <a href="http://www.duvalguillaume.com/news/2013/carlsberg-puts-friends-to-the-test">the agency says</a> do not know they're being filmed) arrives in the dodgiest neighborhood in town and must navigate a bare-knuckle boxing contest, a cock fight, and a several bouncers before being admitted to a back-room filled with scary characters holding the buddy hostage.</p>
<p>Only when the money is placed on the table does a curtain fall — revealing that it's a giant beer promotion.</p>

Oh.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>Banking seriously needs to improve its image.</p><p>Its wretched reputation is so ingrained that even kids hate the industry.</p><p>The Belgian Financial Sector Federation - Febelfin - tasked ad agency Duval Guillaume (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55ZjQbBSpIQ">famed for its viral hit for TNT - "Push To Add Drama)</a> with creating a campaign designed to raise the profile and appeal of banks.</p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">So the agency rounded together a bunch of children and asked them whether they'd consider becoming a banker when they're older.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Here are some of the frank responses:</span></p><blockquote class="blockquote"><p>"My parents don't like them."</p><p>"They only want money for themselves."</p><p>"They're selfish."</p><p>"I don't think they're really honest."</p><p>"Nobody says hello to you."</p><p>"They don't have friends."</p><p>"They drink alcohol to forget about it all."</p><p>"Banker? <p>Experiential ads are taking over.</p>
<p><keyword id="43777" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Renault">Renault</keyword> UK allowed two unsuspecting people to test drive its new Clio model with a fake car sales person.</p>
<p>When the drivers stopped at an intersection, they were asked to they try the "va va voom" button on the car's dash.</p>
<p>Upon doing so, they were immediately transported to Paris in the form of an impromptu piece of street theater — via a kissing couple, an Eiffel Tower backdrop, baguette and rose vendors, and then dancing girls and guys.</p>

<p>The two ads — one featuring dancing women in lingerie, the other topless men — <span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">embraces the trend of immersive "experiential" ads that plunge everyday consumers into strange situations, which are filmed for YouTube. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/how-a-belgian-agency-made-one-of-the-most-viral-videos-of-this-year-2012-5">Belgian agency Duval Guillaume popularized the trend when it released a video last year for TNT</a>, in which people in a random European square were bombarded by biker gangs, gun fights, and other dramatic scenarios after pushing a red button. The TNT spot now has more than 44 million views.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">The Renault ad incorporates not only the button pushing, but another ingredient of a recently successful experiential ad: a test drive gone wrong.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">Pepsi's most successful social video ever, released earlier this month, had race car driver Jeff Gordon dress up and take a used car salesman on a high octane, terrifying test drive. (<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/jeff-gordon-pepsi-video-is-fake-2013-3">It also turned out to be completely fake</a>, but that didn't stop it from becoming a viral success.)</span></p>
<p>Renault's carefully planned ad was created by Manning Gottlieb OMB and <a href="http://www.unrulymedia.com/socialvideolab">Unruly's Social Video Lab</a>. Unruly is a social company that tracks online videos that go viral and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-make-a-viral-video-2013-3">breaks down the causes of its success</a>.</p>
<p>This is Unruly's first time working with a company on making an ad that it thinks will go viral.</p>
<p><span>One significant difference between Renault's campaign is that both TNT and Pepsi only had one video meant to appeal to both sexes. Renault broke its campaign into two videos: one aimed at mainly at guys (featuring women in lingerie) and the other mostly at women (starring a batch of shirtless dudes). Will this decrease or increase the overall sharing?</span></p>

Test Drive A Renault, Get A Private Show From Dancing Girls

<p>In promoting its launch in Belgium last April, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/this-real-life-insane-belgian-tnt-stunt-got-5-million-views-in-24-hours-2012-4">TNT put out an insanely cool ad</a> centered around unsuspecting people pressing a large "push to add drama" button.</p>
<p>Mayhem ensued as fights and gunfire broke out in a quiet town. Bikini babes on motorcycles also tore up the street to add more drama to the event.</p>
<p>The Belgian ad went <keyword id="54320" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Viral">viral</keyword> immediately and has since been watched over 42 million times.</p>
<p>With another launch scheduled in the <keyword id="44173" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Netherlands">Netherlands</keyword>, <keyword id="151591" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="TNT">TNT</keyword> is at it again with another crazy <keyword id="21654" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="video">video</keyword> filled with more gunfire, kidnappings, and brawls. No bikini babes in this ad, though, as a group of streaking men take up the quota of scantily clad people. TNT's agency in the region is Duval Guillaume.</p>
