Keepers Aryan Juyal and Abhishek Porel are also part of the various squads. India players were supposed to play only one match and hence Kohli, Rohit, Bumrah and Ashwin were given exemptions. Suryakumar is part of Team C, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, which also has two exciting young pacers -- Anshul Khamboj and Himanshu Chauhan, who would be under the scanner of the selectors following their exploits last season. Pace sensation Mayank Yadav, who is recovering from lower abdominal injury, is yet to regain fitness and will miss the event. Nitish Kumar Reddy's participation is also subject to fitness. India are slated to play two Test matches against Bangladesh - from September 19 at Chennai and from September 27 at Kanpur. With the first Test against Bangladesh scheduled here from September 19, the entire squad, including skipper <keyword id="19899523" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rohit-Sharma" source="keywords">Rohit Sharma</keyword> and Kohli, assembled at the MA Chidambaram Stadium for a closed door training session. This would be the first home assignment for new head coach <keyword id="19914485" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gautam-Gambhir" source="keywords">Gautam Gambhir</keyword>. New bowling coach, South African great Morne Morkel, and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar were also in attendance. The images showed the entire squad listening attentively to Gambhir, his support staff and skipper Rohit. Batter Sarfaraz Khan will join the squad after the Duleep Trophy game in Anantapur, where he is playing for India B right now. The players are returning to the field after a much-needed break of more than a month and would look to put behind the disappointment of losing the ODI series against Sri Lanka in August, which was Gambhir's first assignment as head coach after taking over Rahul Dravid. It would be interesting to see how Rohit's side approaches the game against a Bangladesh side, which is on a high following its 2-0 Test series win over Pakistan recently. Vital World Test Championship (WTC) points are at stake in the two-match series as India get ready for a a gruelling 10-match Test season, which also includes a three-Test series at home against New Zealand and the five-match Border-Gavaskar series later this year in Australia. India are currently heading the table with 68.52 percentage points, while Australia are a close second with 62.50 percentage points. Bangladesh have jumped to fourth spot with 45.83 percentage points following their 10-wicket win over Pakistan in the opening Test and their amazing fightback in the second Test where wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das scored a century to singlehandedly guide the side to a series triumph. Kolkata, May 30 () The world was in a "sheer shock" in the past few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic but BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is confident that life will be back to normal once the vaccine for the virus is developed. All sport including cricket has fallen prey to the COVID-19 pandemic, which abruptly halted all the sporting events globally since March, thus disrupting the scheduling along with huge financial setbacks for the respective associations. "This is something that has got the world in sheer shock. I think things will be back on track. We did not have the medicines to take care of it. But over a six-seven months' period once the vaccine comes up everything will be normal," Ganguly said during a live class on 'Unacademy' app. "We have this tremendous resistance in ourselves. I think cricket will be back to normal. Yes, there will be some changes in schedule but think the BCCI and the ICC will be hell bent to get cricket back to normal. Ganguly believes once the vaccine is out, the virus will be like any other health issues like flu or jaundice but with a cure. "Cricket will be very strong. There will be different tests, medical examinations for players, but I don't see it coming in the way of sport and it will go forward. As the vaccine comes out, it's going to be normal life I think. If you fall sick, whether you have fever, jaundice you pick those medicines and get better." Ganguly, who went on to become one of the most successful captains of India having made his Test debut with a century at Lord's, also went down the memory lane and said he'd become a cricketer by "accident". Having taken up football seriously, he was asked by his father to join a cricket coaching to keep away from playing mischief and there was no looking back since then. "Football was my life. I was very good at it till class nine. During one summer vacation, my father (late Chandi Ganguly, who was in the Cricket Association of Bengal) told me you're doing nothing at home go and practice. He put me into a cricket academy. "I loved going there because it kept me away from home my parents, my brothers, my family, who were very disciplined. For me, this was a time away from them. I don't know what my coach saw in me he told my father you should take him out of football. So I got into cricket." Recollecting getting a hundred against Odisha at Eden in an age-group match, Ganguly said: "Five-six players got sick because of typhoid and an SOS came our academy. I was fortunate to be one of them. I was nowhere but I got a hundred and then everything went off well. I became an accidental cricketer." Ganguly said he had to fit into his elder brother Snehashish's kits so he became a left-hander. "I had stopped playing for two-three months since then and then the CAB called for the trials. I had no kit. My brother played cricket and he was a lefthander. I had to adjust to a left-hander's kit, the gloves and all." "I'm lucky that I played this game. I have seen this game evolve from the time I started," Ganguly said adding that his real inspiration came when the Kapil Dev-led India lifted the World Cup for the first time in 1983. Picking his Lord's debut hundred as the best moment of his career, he said: "I had a debut hundred in Duleep Trophy, made a debut in Ranji final for Bengal but it was like a fairytale to get hundred at Lord's." "It will remain with me forever. My mindset that day I feel was the best that I had ever. Maybe the destiny was with me to become a Test cricketer. I proved myself that I belong here," he added. But his 6 for 4 against <keyword id="6354759" type="COUNTRY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bangladesh">Bangladesh</keyword> at Dhaka - the best bowling figures by an Indian in ODIs - propelled Binny into the limelight and riding on this performance and his ability to swing the ball, the Karnataka player made his Test debut in England during the summer. And after three Tests under his belt and being on the fringes of the ODI team, it seemed the limelight is fast fading. 
 
However, at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal stadium in Lahli, the swing bowler made a strong statement playing in the Duleep Trophy semi-final against East Zone taking seven wickets for South Zone. He used the favourable conditions well and put up a performance worth noticing, similar to what he did at Dhaka. And with the World Cup so near and an overseas tour beckoning, Binny feels that he will have to churn out more such performances to get back into the national team. 
 
"For me every performance is importance at this point of time. Wherever I play, whether it is at Lahli or an India A match against Sri Lanka. It is important for me to perform with both bat and ball. For me as far as I look at it, I need to also deliver with the ball to get back into the national side. It (Lahli) was an important performance, because there are a few series coming up, so it is crucial for me to do well," Binny told gocricket.com. 
 Talking about the 2015 World Cup and his prospect of making the cut, Binny admitted that it will be tough, but was also hopeful because it is in <keyword id="6355478" type="COUNTRY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Australia">Australia</keyword> and he will get a lot of assistance on seaming tracks. 
 
"I don't want to look too ahead at this moment; I want to take it one game at a time. Definitely that (World Cup) was the goal I set in the beginning of the year. Especially it is abroad and the wickets will suit me more than it did in India. But as I said, I am taking it game by game and as a challenge and hopefully I will be able to put up a good fight," asserted Binny. 
 
Binny won't be part of the Duleep Trophy final against Central Zone as he will will be playing for India A against Sri Lanka in Mumbai in a 50-over practice match. This could be the last chance for the allrounder to impress the selectors and he believes his learning from the England tour will help him here. 
 
"When I came into this game (Duleep Trophy) I though I will work on pitching the ball in good areas and keep it simple, something I wanted to try after coming back from England. I worked on my inswing and I got three-four wickets bowling the inswinger. I believe small things like this can really help me and while playing for India A as, I am hoping to do the same." 
 
"I won't say I am a better bowler skillfully after England tour. It is more of a mental set-up when you play Test cricket. It is about bowling in good areas for longer period of time than two-three good overs. I should aim to be an outswing bowler who can bring the ball in; a bouncer between, these things I observed on the tour," stated Binny. 
 
Talking about improvements in his game, Binny aims to be a complete cricketer and said that is something which can only be achieved with practice. "I think both aspects of my game – batting and bowling - I need to work on. I don't think I am a complete cricketer; Yes I have played Test cricket but there is a lot to learn still. I mean everyday I go out to learn something new, whether I play Duleep Trophy or for India. 
 
"I think it is important that I keep learning and have the will to learn. Practice makes you perfect and how you practice in nets and what approach you have in practice will determine what you can carry into the game," added the allrounder.

Binny: Need Better Bowling Effort For India Comeback

Bangalore: <a href="http://www.gocricket.com/player/rohit-sharma/4001/4095">Rohit Sharma</a> will miss the ODI series against the <a href="http://www.gocricket.com/teams/west-indies/10001/home">West Indies</a> as he has failed to recover from a shoulder injury. Rohit, who missed three ODIs during the England tour and the entire Champions League T20 due to multiple injuries, might be available for the three-Test series which follows. The five ODI series starts from October 08 while the Test series begins on October 30. 
 
According to a report on ESPNcricinfo, Rohit's fractured finger had healed but it will take three more weeks for the shoulder to recover. He is currently being monitored by <keyword id="6354756" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="BCCI">BCCI</keyword> physios at the NCA in Bangalore. 
 
The report also said that the selectors are not willing to rush him back to international cricket considering the packed schedule for India just before the 2015 World Cup. He could be asked to prove his match fitness just before the Test series by playing in the Duleep Trophy. 
 
Rohit could play for West Zone in the semis if they beat East Zone. Should West Zone not qualify for the semis, then Rohit could feature in the Board President's XI against the West Indies in Kanpur on October 25.
