<p>Cowboys quarterback <keyword id="15179" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Tony-Romo">Tony Romo</keyword> <a href="http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/9112658/tony-romo-6-year-deal-dallas-cowboys-sources" target="_blank">agreed to a blockbuster, six-year contract extension</a> with the team on Friday, prompting former star quarterback <keyword id="1752176" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Donovan-McNabb">Donovan McNabb</keyword> to react in complete and utter disbelief on Twitter.</p>
<p>McNabb noted, of course, that Romo has only won one playoff game in his entire professional career. But his contract will pay him $55 million guaranteed, $3 million more guaranteed than the deal the Ravens gave to Joe Flacco this offseason.</p>

Weinberger is now president of the website The Ringer while McNabb is now a contributor for ESPN radio.</p><p>Cantor worked with the network from 2006 until being dismissed in October 2016.</p><p>The lawsuit accuses the five men of sending Cantor sexually explicit and inappropriate text messages and making inappropriate and sexually explicit comments.</p><p>According to the report, the lawsuit accuses Faulk and EEvans of groping Cantor and asking personal and inappropriate questions about her sex life.</p><p>The lawsuit also accuses Weinberger and Taylor of sending nude pictures and videos to Cantor, with Taylor allegedly sending a video of himself masturbating in the shower to Taylor. Weinberger allegedly told Cantor that she was "<span>put on earth to pleasure" him.</span></p><p>According to Bloomberg, Cantor said she complained about the behavior to Marc Watt, the talent coordinator, who told her, "<span>It's part of the job when you look the way you do."</span></p><p>NFL Network has suspended Faulk, Evans, and Taylor. The Ringer has put Weinberger on indefinite leave. The two men, who are friends, share other similarities as well: They both call Palm Beach home, spend copious amounts of time on the golf course, and have been married multiple times. Above all, the king of right-wing talk radio has been a staunch supporter of Trump for years. </p><p>The commentator has prided himself on pushing the envelope on what's tolerated in mainstream public discourse and reveled in the outrage his arguments inevitably provoke.</p><p>Limbaugh is an outspoken opponent of feminism, which <a href="http://mediamatters.org/video/2005/08/16/the-truth-according-to-limbaugh-feminism-establ/133652">he's said</a> "was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society." He's made too many racist comments to count, including <a href="http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2007/01/19/the_classless_nfl_culture">lamenting</a> that professional football "looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons" <a href="http://www.msnbc.com/the-last-word/white-guilt-forget-it-whites-have-done-more-end-slavery-any-other-race-says-rush">and</a> "if any race of people should not have guilt about slavery, it's Caucasians." </p><p>His <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELRmgJw8muw&amp;feature=youtu.be">controversial approach</a> to infuriating, entertaining, and dividing the American public has helped the 69-year-old host rake in tens of millions of dollars as "The Rush Limbaugh Show" has pulled in a daily audience of <a href="https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2017/09/21/eib-audience-spikes-to-27-million/">up to 27 million</a>. </p><p>Trump's decision to honor Limbaugh appeared to be prompted by <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rush-limbaugh-announces-advanced-lung-cancer-diagnosis-2020-2">the commentator's announcement</a> on Monday that he's been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. </p><p>In his Tuesday night address, Trump hailed Limbaugh as "the greatest fighter and winner that you will ever meet" and "a special man, beloved by millions of Americans."   </p><p>Unsurprisingly, the response to Limbaugh's honoring was deeply partisan. While some Democrats shouted, "no!" when Trump announced Limbaugh's name, many Republican lawmakers gave the radio host a standing ovation. </p><p><strong>Here are some of the racist, sexist, and otherwise awful things Limbaugh has said over the years: </strong></p><ul><li>He <a href="http://tv.msnbc.com/2013/07/22/whites-have-done-more-to-end-slavery-than-any-other-race-says-rush-limbaugh/">argued</a> that white people shouldn't be blamed for slavery: "It's preposterous that Caucasians are blamed for slavery when they've done more to end it than any other race," he said. "If any race of people should not have guilt about slavery, it's Caucasians."</li><li>He called Georgetown Law student Susan Fluke a "slut" and a "prostitute" when she argued before Congress for contraceptive coverage under the Affordable Care Act. The comments earned a direct rebuke from then-President Barack Obama, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luxgmUcbm80">who said</a>, "all decent folks can agree" that the remarks "don't have any place in the public discourse." </li><li>He was forced to resign from ESPN after <a href="https://www.espn.com/gen/news/2003/1001/1628537.html">he said</a> Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb got undeserved praise because "the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well." </li><li>He <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_fQ3VLSvfI">mocked</a> actor Michael J. Former NFL Network reporter says a hiring manager asked during her interview if she planned on 'getting knocked up immediately like the rest of them'

<p>The Vikings signed Freeman two weeks ago after he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It will be Freeman's first start since week 3 against the New England Patriots.</p>
<p>Because of his poor performance and issues with Bucs coach Greg Schiano, Freeman was benched following the Patriots game in favor of rookie QB Mike Glennon. After the team was unable to find a suitor for Freeman in a trade, he was released by the Bucs. </p>
<p>With the Vikings having their own problems at quarterback, <a href="http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9784092/josh-freeman-sign-minnesota-vikings">they signed Freeman to a one-year contract reportedly worth about 3 million.</a> Previous starter Christian Ponder suffered a broken rib earlier in the season and has missed the last two games. </p>
<p>Freeman will be the third starting quarterback for the Vikings this year and the sixth quarterback named the starter in the past four years. </p>
<p>The quarterback carousel started following the eventual retirement of Hall of Famer Brett Favre. The 40-year-old Favre was the last Pro Bowl quarterback the Vikings had in recent years. The Vikings turned to these five quarterbacks after Favre went out for good in 2010:</p>

Josh Freeman Is The Vikings' 6th Starting Quarterback Since 2010

<p>Known for his off-the-wall antics and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07G23zMGa4g">legendary interviews</a>, Moss was a member of the San Francisco 49ers last season, recording 28 receptions and three touchdowns. The news is slightly surprising as Moss has not formally announced his retirement. Many expected him to be signing with a team about this time, not a network. </p>
<p>If Moss does agree to a deal, he is expected to appear on <em>FOX Football Daily,</em><span> where he will work alongside Curt Menefee, Jay Glazer, Brian Urlacher, and Ronde Barber. The network has loaded up on athletes, hiring such stars as Andy Roddick, Gary Payton, and Donovan McNabb.  </span></p>
<p>Moss was one of the leading actors during the NFL's era of prima donna receivers, but he is country guy at heart. If he embraces his new role he has the potential to mix deadpan humor with insightful honesty a la Charles Barkley. </p>
<p>Fox Sports 1 has loaded up on household names. They also hired <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/fox-sports-1-canadian-duo-kill-sportscenter-2013-7">a hilarious Canadian duo</a> to host "Fox Sports Live," a daily recap show with an irreverent shtick reminiscent of SportsCenter's early days. <p class="p1"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">When she wasn't upstairs taking a break, she usually stood next to her mom and Janet, who put her arm around Brendan's wife and held her upright whenever her knees began to buckle. During one particularly sad moment for Amy, both she and Janet realized they were facing DeMatha's wrestling room.</span></p>
<p>"Okay, let's go ahead and face the other direction," Janet said with her arm around Amy. The wrestling mat was a clear reminder of Travis, just as a lacrosse stick would naturally remind them of Brendan. When Amy started to cry, Janet spoke.</p>
<p>"Remember the story about how the boys went on a bike ride with that poor kid and basically left him out in the woods because they started racing?" Janet said. "They were always competing, those two."</p>
<p>"Gosh, I know, it's just like the first time I went for a quote-unquote 'jog' with them and it ended up basically being a half marathon," Amy said, wiping away tears with a handkerchief. "I can almost guarantee that after shaking hands, the first thing Travis and Brendan did when they first saw each other again up there was go for a run."</p>

<p>"And someday, we'll see them again," said Janet, nodding in agreement.</p>
<p>When they went upstairs to take a break, Janet, Christina, and Amy saw Tom, Kevin, and several others in the room gathered around a small television screen. The Washington Redskins, led by former Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb, happened to be playing the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.</p>
<p>On that solemn Sunday above the DeMatha gym, where mourners were walking past Brendan's casket, it was only appropriate that Brendan's favorite team was playing Travis's.</p>
<p>"Brendan used to wear Travis's Eagles jersey at games because he was such a good sport," Janet said. "So for the first time in my life, I'm going to root for the Redskins today."</p>
<p>The Redskins beat the heavily favored Eagles, 17-12.</p>
<p>After thousands packed Washington's Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on a drizzly Monday morning, Brendan's flag-draped casket, covered with a plastic sheet to protect it from steady early afternoon rainfall, arrived at Arlington National Cemetery.</p>
<p>About four thousand people, all saluting or with a hand placed over their hearts, lined the cemetery street as six white horses pulled the fallen Navy SEAL toward his place of rest. Four uniformed soldiers from the U.S. Army's Old Guard, which handles Arlington funerals with such dignity, guided the horses forward until they quietly stopped, after which U.S. Navy sailors carried Brendan toward Travis and the fallen heroes of Section 60.</p>

<p>We asked FS1 about the "fun" label in a Q&amp;A with EVP Bill Wanger (one of the architects behind the channel), and he clarified that "fun" content means exciting/interesting content, not "funny" content.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">"First, fun doesn’t necessarily mean funny. There will be times where serious news and issues need to be covered and we’re ready for that. At other times, a laugh or two may be OK. We think there’s a large number of sports fans who are looking for a fresh approach to the games and shows they watch, and by fun we hope to celebrate the things that draw us to sports. Buzzer beaters are fun. Big hits are fun. Pennant races are fun. ESPN does a terrific job doing what they do, but we think there’s a different way, and we’ve spent several months developing a different look and feel that we think will resonate with fans."</p>
<p>Ultimately the the success or failure of FS1 <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/one-thing-that-will-determine-the-success-of-fox-sports-1-2013-8">will be determined by live sports</a> — both the rights it has and the way it broadcasts games.</p>
<p>But there were possible <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/fox-sports-1-says-espn-too-academic-2013-8">pre-launch red flags</a> about whether "fun" was code for "dumbed down," and FS1 looks to be working to quell those worries.</p>

<p><strong>BILL WANGER:</strong> There’s really so much that we’re excited about, from great events to big name talent to fresh, original shows.  If I had to single out one show, it would be FOX SPORTS LIVE, our nightly news, highlights and analysis show.  We’ve imported two terrific anchors, Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole, from TSN in Canada, and they’re sharp and clever in the way they present highlights and news. People will find them very refreshing.  Between the news and highlights, the show also features commentary from a panel that is hosted by Charissa Thompson who is joined by former pros Donovan McNabb, Andy Roddick, Gary Payton and Ephraim Salaam.  The set is state of the art, the graphics are alive and full of energy and the overall approach is different than what fans are used to, so we’re excited about it.  </p>

<p><strong>BW:</strong> Investing in a news operation definitely makes us different compared to most other sports networks.  We’re also really fortunate to launch with a full and robust schedule of live games and events: NASCAR, UFC, college football, college basketball, international soccer, MotoGP, Golden Boy boxing, The Ultimate Fighter and much, much more.  Next year we have MLB, regular and postseason.  In 2015 our new agreement with the USGA kicks in and we’ll have championship golf.  The World Cup is also coming in a few years.  FOX Sports 1 is launching with about 5000 hours of live games, events and original programming.  We wouldn’t have taken this step if we didn’t have this type of quality content.<span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span></p>

<p><strong>BW:</strong> Not sure that “improving” the live sports experience is what we’re trying to do. Twenty years ago, FOX Sports introduced an approach to sports production based on sugar-coating the information pill.  FOX NFL SUNDAY is a perfect example of that approach, and that’s why it’s been the no. 1 NFL pregame show since its inception.   We hope to apply that founding philosophy to our studio shows, original programs and game productions and give fans what they want.</p>

<p><strong>BI: How do you feel about ESPN making a few huge hires (Keith Olbermann, Nate Silver, Jason Whitlock) seemingly in response to FS1 launching?</strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span></p>

<p><strong>BW:</strong> We’re involved in a very competitive business.  It’s pretty unrealistic to think that others would sit back and do nothing while we launch and establish ourselves.  Keith and Jason had their runs here, and now both are with ESPN. Obviously, ESPN thinks they will make what they already offer better.  </p>

It’s flattering that people have looked at what we’ve built and determined that we could compete with ESPN, but right now we’re focused on getting up and running.  Once that’s done, we’ll work to improve, evolve and grow.</p>
