 Zoya Akhtar’s story stands out The story of a haunted nurse that was directed by 2019’s most successful Zoya Akhtar however received a thumbs up. Not only did she direct the critically and commercially acclaimed Gully Boy but her web series ‘Made in Heaven’ on Amazon Prime was a hit with the audience. She also brought star power into her story. Janhvi Kapoor plays a nurse Sameera, who is haunted while providing care to an elderly ailing lady (Surekha Sikri). The nurse who has plans to entertain her boyfriend, is haunted by unusual noises. The segments by Dibakar Banerje and Karan Johar received average reviews. Johar however fell into his old habits as he inducted a wedding scene in a horror film. All in all, the only ones haunted by the series are Netflix executives who bankrolled it.  According to <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/web-series/karan-johar-anurag-kashyap-zoya-akhtar-dibaker-banerjee-ghost-stories-netflix-original-5868705/">reports</a>, each of these filmmakers will direct an episode of the horror series. It is the third time RSVP and Netflix are coming together for a series. The production of Ghost Stories will begin in August. The stories, directed by the filmmakers, will be thematically connected to each other and culminate into an ending. Netflix is<a href="https://www.ndtv.com/entertainment/netflixs-ghost-stories-a-nightmare-for-dream-team-karan-johar-zoya-akhtar-anurag-kashyap-dibakar-ban-2078555"> reportedly</a> planning to stream the show across 190 countries at the same time, reaching 151 million users. Unchartered terrain: Karan Johar Top movie producer and director Karan Johar said that horror is an unchartered terrain of him. He promises to exhibit his own turn his own fear of ghosts into the new series. “I have always been mortified to watch the horror genre and have always stayed very far away from any ghost story! So to direct one is not only hugely challenging but also exceptionally exciting," Karan said. Kashyap, who has collaborated with Netflix on multiple occasions said, "I am really looking forward to challenging myself to make something that I have never attempted before. The ambience of Yash Raj Films' office in Mumbai suburbs turned somber on Tuesday evening when filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee heard of a crucial digital leak concerning his upcoming film. 
 
A video surfaced on the internet later yesterday that revealed the film's climax said TOI. A pivotal marketing strategy for the film was maintaining the mystery around its 'whodunit' formula. But the video that was clearly shot by a unit member during the film's climax revealed who the villain is in the film. 
 Dibakar did not take it very seriously when first told about it said the TOI report. A three-pager from the film's screenplay too was out a few days back. But, when he was described the scene that was in the video, his face went pale. Dibakar, who was in the middle of interviews with leading publications, stalled the interaction and promptly went to meet <keyword id="6385240" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Aditya-Chopra">Aditya Chopra</keyword> regarding the same, suggested our source present at the venue. 
 
According to the TOI report, an onlooker says, "It seemed someone from his core group spewed venom. There's also a possibility that this is a publicity gimmick but going by Dibakar's reaction it's highly unlikely."

However, the kiss was no less than a shock for the actor, as per his co-star star Swastika Mukherjee. 
 Swastika, the Bengali actress who is making her <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> debut with this movie, said that the actor had no idea that there would be a kissing scene in the movie, and only she and the director were aware of it. 
 
"Sushant was not aware of the kissing scene in the film. Dibakar had an overall discussion about it with me because there was a possibility of something like that in the scene. Dibakar seriously did not want Sushant to know about it. He was like if it happens then let it happen and obviously Sushant will be taken aback but that's important. He (Sushant) was like really in shock and flabbergasted about what the hell just happened. Then we had our lines and I could see that surprise, that dilemma on face he was completely stiff and stony," Swastika told PTI. 
 
Apparently, the scene demanded a shocked and confused look on the actor’s face and not telling Rajput about the kiss worked in its favour. In an earlier interview, Sushant had stated how Dibakar tricked him into the kissing scene and that he called up his long-time girlfriend Ankita Lokhande and told her about the scene as soon as it happened. 
 Well, looks like <keyword id="35863" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dibakar-Banerjee">Dibakar Banerjee</keyword> sure knows how to turn things in his favour.

Director <keyword id="35863" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dibakar-Banerjee">Dibakar Banerjee</keyword>, who is ready for his next movie titled "<keyword id="1725719" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="DETECTIVE-BYOMKESH-BAKSHY">Detective Byomkesh Bakshy</keyword>!" hinted that there are chances that the movie might be made into a franchise, meaning that there can be more movies involving the fictional character. 
 
On being asked if he would want the movie, which is an adaptation of a fictional book character, to be turned into a franchise, he said, "We would love to (make it a franchise), but we are waiting for the first film to do well. This is because - fortunately or unfortunately - a film like this has not yet been made." 
 
Talking further, he said, "If the audiences' hunger and thirst for such films increases and our first Byomkesh story catches on, then our franchise is ready and we would love this franchise to go forward." 
 Created by the Bengali writer <keyword id="1641501" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Saradindu-Bandyopadhyay">Saradindu Bandyopadhyay</keyword>, Byomkesh Bakshy is a fictional character, a young Bengali detective. Bandyopadhyay wrote as many as 32 stories involving the character from 1932 until his death in 1970, leaving one story, <keyword id="2760413" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bishupal-Bodh">Bishupal Bodh</keyword>, incomplete. 
 The movie, which has been produced by Yash Raj Films and Dibakar Banerjee productions, features actor <keyword id="6356062" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sushant-Singh-Rajput">Sushant Singh Rajput</keyword> in the title role and is slated to release on April 3.

Mumbai, May 5 () Actor Anshuman Jha believes he took the right decision to cancel the UK shoot of his film "Lord Curzon Ki Haveli" as he had a hunch that the situation may get worse due to the coronavirus pandemic.Anshuman, best known for featuring in Dibakar Banerjee's "Love Sex Aur Dhoka", will be making his directorial debut with the black comedy-thriller, starring Arjun Mathur, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Rasika Dugal.The 34-year-old actor said he was through with a technical recce in February and the team was scheduled to fly out to London for shoot on March 16."But on the March 7, I realised this is going to become something and pulled the plug on the shoot. At that time everyone was a little upset and thought I was overreacting but I'm glad I took the decision."It got really bad in the UK and we would have got stuck. Everything happens for a reason so I am not worried - the film will happen when it is meant to," Anshuman told .The UK is one of the worst-hit countries in the world by the COVID-19 pandemic. The novel virus, which originated in China in December, has claimed over 28,000 lives in the country.The lockdown in India has put all of his work on hold, the actor added. "I wrapped the dubbing of my show 'Mastram' from home, they had put a mini set-up mid March, so that kept me occupied. Everything else, new and old, is on hold and rightly so."We need to be home and follow the orders of the government and I think it will remain like this for a while," he said.Anshuman currently stars in MX Player series "Mastram", where he essays the role of Rajaram who took the pen name 'Mastram' to write erotic novels in the 1980s.The actor said he realised the popularity of the character while preparing for the role."I had never read 'Mastram' nor had I seen the film so the research phase allowed me to understand the simple, innocent person and why his literature is such an underbelly cult in India," he said."I understand it being hushed in the '80s and '90s but why stay hushed in this millennium when it is all about openness and communication with everything being a click away?" he asked.For the 10-episode series, the makers got intimacy director Amanda Cutting on board to shoot intimate scenes with sensitivity and Anshuman said the process made the actors feel secure. "My apprehensions were only with how the intimacy bits will be shot because in India we don't really have specialists doing intimacy.
