On Tuesday, the organisers of the festival shared this update. The award will pay tribute to SRK's remarkable contribution to <keyword id="20060213" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-cinema" source="keywords">Indian cinema</keyword>. Speaking about the honour, Giona A. Nazzaro, Artistic Director in a statement said, "To welcome a living legend like Shah Rukh Khan to Locarno is a dream come true! The wealth and breadth of his contribution to Indian cinema is unprecedented. Khan is a king who has never lost touch with the audience that crowned him. This brave and daring artist has always been willing to challenge himself while remaining true to what his fans all over the world eagerly expect from his films. A true 'people's hero', sophisticated and down to earth, Shah Rukh Khan is a legend of our times." Shah Rukh will receive the award on August 10 at the open-air venue Piazza Grande. One of his most iconic films, <keyword id="19966566" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Devdas" source="keywords">Devdas</keyword>, directed by <keyword id="19897264" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sanjay-Leela-Bhansali" source="keywords">Sanjay Leela Bhansali</keyword>, will also be screened during the festival. Shah Rukh is all set to appear at the Forum @Spazio Cinema for a conversation on August 11. Previous recipients of Locarno's Honorary Leopard include Tsai Ming-liang, Francesco Rosi, Claudia Cardinale, Johnnie To, Harry Belafonte, Mario Adorf, Jane Birkin, and Costa-Gavras. The award comes on the heels of SRK's highly successful 2023, which saw the release of his three blockbusters Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, all of which were huge hits. The actor will reportedly begin shooting for his upcoming film 'King.' Recently, a video of SRK was widely shared on social media where eagle-eyed fans noticed the film's script lying on the table beside him. Reportedly, the film is also set to star Shah Rukh's daughter and actor, <keyword id="19915336" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Suhana" source="keywords">Suhana</keyword>. The video happened to be from a clip of Shah Rukh congratulating cinematographer Santosh Sivan after he received the prestigious Pierre Angenieux Excel Lens Award at this year's Cannes Film Festival. In the aforementioned video, a section of the Internet spotted the script of 'King' on the table next to him.It also contained some additional details on its cover, which were not clearly visible in the video. If reports are to be believed, 'King' will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

The Happy New Year actor yesterday <a href="https://twitter.com/iamsrk/status/619967037142470656">tweeted</a> his Dubsmash, in which he can be seen lip-syncing to his own dialogue from the movie <keyword id="14353" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Devdas">Devdas</keyword>, which released 13 years back on the same day. The actor even mentioned that it was strange for him to do himself. 
 
Wearing his favourite combo of black and white, Khan can be seen mouthing the dialogue with a candle kept in front of him.

Kathak's living legend Pandit Birju Maharaj dies at 83

Patel on Thursday said, "There are currently 18 NDRF teams and 18 SDRF platoons operating across the state. Another eight teams are in reserve." The damage to property is being estimated by surveying the area affected by the rains. Due to heavy rains, power supply was disrupted in nearly 5,150 villages, of which electricity in 5,110 villages has been restored. Farmers have sown Kharif crops on more than 44,36,980 hectare of land, which is more than 50 per cent area cultivated for Kharif crops. Most of the dams are nearly 50 per cent filled with rain water. For example, the Sardar Sarovar dam is 48 per cent filled more than its capacity with rain water. The average rainfall recorded in 14 days of July this year is more than double that during the same time period in 2021. In 2021, the average rainfall was 155.92 mm but it is 397.02 mm in 2022 while the average rainfall in the state is 850 mm. Nearly 50 per cent of the total rainfall for July has been recorded in 20 talukas from July 8-11. Each taluka has received more than 50 mm of rainfall till now. For the first time in this decade, Gujarat has received such a huge amount of rainfall in July. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister <keyword id="350454" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="rajendra-trivedi" source="Orion">Rajendra Trivedi</keyword>, while briefing the media about a review meeting over the rainfall situation in the state at Gandhinagar, said that due to heavy rains, six persons were rescued by a chopper with the help of <keyword id="4892872" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="state-coast-guard" source="Orion">State Coast Guard</keyword>. However, rescue operations are still underway to airlift people. He added that a total of 39,177 people have been relocated to safer places by the state administration, of which a total of 17,394 people have returned home while 21,243 people have taken shelter at various places and are being provided adequate arrangements, including food by the administration. A total of 570 civilians trapped in water have been rescued while eight districts in the state are still on red alert, he said. Trivedi added that 43 deaths have been reported in the state since July 7, with the highest number of deaths due to lightning. In addition, 477 animal deaths have also been reported. Out of 14,610 state transport bus routes operating in villages across the state, routes to 148 villages have been closed for safety reasons. He said that due to incessant rain since July 7, a total of 126 houses have been completely damaged and 19 huts have been completely washed away. The rain-affected areas will be surveyed on a war footing and assistance will be provided for damaged houses and huts. As many as 178 persons were rescued by the NDRF in Sambhoi village of Vadodara which includes 67 men, 76 women and 35 children. In Kutiana taluka of Porbandar district, Devda village was flooded due to torrential rains since early Thursday morning. As a result, the farms were turned into islands and the locals were trying to dispose the water themselves. The Kharo dam of Bantwa village overflowed on Thursday. As many as 14 roads in Porbandar district have been closed due to heavy rains. Heavy rains in Ranavav and Kutiana talukas flooded the towns. Mumbai, Jun 23 () Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan has been admitted to a hospital here after she complained of breathing problems. According to a source close to her family, the 71-year old choreographer was rushed to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra on Saturday. Following her hospitalisation, a mandatory COVID-19 test was done, which turned out to be negative. "She is fine now and recovering. She had breathing issues and was taken to hospital for that. Her COVID test was done which turned out negative. She doesn't have any symptoms. She is likely to be discharged in a day or two," the source told . In a career spanning over four decades, Khan is credited with choreographing more than 2000 songs. The three-time National Award winner has choreographed for some of the most memorable tracks, including "Dola Re Dola" from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Devdas", "Ek Do Teen" from Madhuri Dixit-starrer "Tezaab" and "Ye Ishq Haaye" from "Jab We Met" in 2007. Khan's best work was with actors Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit, the prominent dancing stars of the 80s and 90s. Her parents migrated to India after the Partition. She started her career in the film industry as a child artiste at the age of three and later started working as a background dancer. The choreographer, who was born as Nirmala and later converted to Islam, learnt dance while working under film choreographer B Sohanlal. They got married when she was 13 and he was 41. It was Sohanlal's second marriage. Khan got her first break as an independent choreographer with Geeta Mera Naam in 1974 but it took Sridevi's Hawa Hawai song in 1987 film Mr India for her to receive acclaim as a dance choreographer of repute. There was no looking back for Khan after the success of the song. She choreographed Sridevi in films such as Nagina and Chandni . But it was her work with Madhuri Dixit that made her famous. Starting with Ek Do Teen in Tezaab , she choreographed Madhuri in Tamma Tamma Loge in Thanedar and Dhak Dhak Karne Laga in Beta and "Dola Re Dola" from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Devdas".  He is surely one of the most versatile actors of Indian cinema, and has had a pretty decent career entertaining the masses. Be it his charming smile, his loud choice of colors, or the way he moves his body in street dances, <keyword id="6381730" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="govinda">Govinda</keyword> has somehow always related to a common Indian, making him one of India’s most loved actors. 
 
Starting his career in 1986 with the movie Ilzaam, Govinda has been a part of more than 150 films, but this journey has not been smooth. Many a times in his career, he has faced setbacks and career pauses, only to try and strike back later. 
 
The first setback that he faced in his career was in early 2000s, right after he faced enormous success in the 1990s. In the early 2000s, a number of his films failed to perform commercially. He also turned down roles in several movies like Taal, the role was later played by Anil Kapoor; and Devdas, the role was later played by Jackie Shroff. Both the movies went on to garner critical and commercial success.

 Another problem in his acting career was his career as a politician. He took a sabbatical from acting in 2003, only to return in 2005, albeit with either the same roles or the release of his delayed movies, all of which turned out to be disasters. His minor relief came in the form of Bhagam Bhag, where he finally agreed to do a two-hero movie. The movie became a hit and people thought that Govinda had returned. 
 
Later, he did a critically successful role of an Indian taxi driver falling in love with a foreigner traveller in Salaam-e-Ishq. However, the major success came in his way in the form of Partner, a movie that offered the fresh pairing of Govinda and <keyword id="6354850" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Katrina-Kaif">Katrina Kaif</keyword>, also starring <keyword id="6354583" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword> and Lara Dutta. 2014 is nearing its end, Govind Arun Ahuja has crossed his golden 40s, and is seen only in one movie, Holiday, as of yet. Even that role can easily be termed as a guest appearance. This one finally made us doubtful about Brand Salman, well-known for churning out mega hits that rake in big moolah. Although the man himself promoted his film unabashedly almost everywhere, the movie has seen a lukewarm response from Day 1. True, it has managed to enter the 100 crore club, but that’s no big feat for a Salman-starrer. 
 
2. Besharam 
We never had good vibes since the time this flick made its first appearance. Still, we had faith in Ranbir Kapoor. But after the gem called Barfi, the star fell flat on his face in Besharam. There’s not much of a storyline here and the rumours that the female lead was played by the director’s girlfriend also went against the film. 
 
3. Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara Here’s a victim of supreme overconfidence – a sequel that has swanky names and no storyline. While Akshay sucked as the lousy don, <keyword id="14676" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Imran-Khan">Imran Khan</keyword> never looked so artificial.

4. Himmatwala 
Not every remake can be a Devdas. Himmatwala, one of the most anticipated movies of 2013, turned out to be one of the biggest stumbles of the year. Directed by <keyword id="16026" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Sajid-Khan">Sajid Khan</keyword>, who had earlier come up with hits like Housefull, and starring a fine actor like <keyword id="6354714" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Ajay-Devgn">Ajay Devgn</keyword>, it should have been a super hit, but came down crashing due to its all-round poor performance. 
 
5. <keyword id="22939" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="boss">Boss</keyword> Just like Salman, <keyword id="2823" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar">Akshay Kumar</keyword> is known to deliver hits, especially after movies such as Special Chabbis, Rowdy Rathore and Khiladi 786 rocked the box office. But the bubble burst when Boss was released. The audacious Akshay didn’t even have a heroine to himself in the film. But then, a bikini-clad Aditi Rao Hydari (romancing someone else) and Akshay Kumar as a Jat were not enough to churn out a hit. 
 
6. Ghanchakkar 
Just when Vidya Balan was thinking to change her name to Vidya Balan ‘Khan’ who could produce a blockbuster every time, Ghanchakkar happened. Even Vidya’s unfunny Punju accent couldn’t save it.

So when the two came together, fireworks were obvious. But to everyone’s surprise, Heroine turned out to be one of the biggest disasters.
