As part of the MoU inked between the parties, 250 new fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles would be set up across the country. Strategically located in and around over 50 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kochi, among others, these new charging stations will significantly increase the existing network of 540 commercial vehicle charging points, Tata Motors said in a statement. Basis its understanding of the commercial EV movement, the commercial vehicle major will recommend optimal locations and nearest dealerships for setting up the fast-charging stations, the company said. While Delta Electronics will supply the necessary hardware, Thunderplus Solutions will install and operate them, it added. E-commerce companies, parcel and courier service providers, among other industries, are increasing the adoption of commercial EVs for last-mile deliveries. "Expanding the available charging infrastructure on high-use routes will encourage more customers to opt for electric commercial vehicles and improve vehicle uptime, resulting in higher revenues and better profitability, while contributing towards a cleaner, greener environment," Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Vice President and Business Head -- SCV &amp; PU -- Vinay Pathak said. Tata Motors ties up with two firms to expand charging infra for electric CVs

New Delhi, Dec 9 () Power and energy management firm Delta Electronics expects its electric vehicle charging business in India to grow around 50 per cent per annum in the next three years with more car makers bringing their EVs into the country, according to a senior company official.
The company, which has so far installed over 700 charging stations in India, is currently in the process of setting up of its third plant at Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu as part of its USD 500 million investment programme till 2026.
"This year, we have supplied close to over 700 EV chargers of different types and different capacities. We see that in the initial few years there will be minimum 50 per cent growth at least and market will evolve in three years," Delta Electronics India Business Head, EV Charging Solutions, Akshaye Barbuddhe told .
He said the EV charging ecosystem is only expected to grow with more and more automobile manufacturers bringing or planning to introduce their electric vehicles in the country.
"There is a reason to it. Three-four years back there were very limited number electric car models, today at least you have four," he said, adding thus one of the segments of the electric vehicle (EV) market is being developed.
Currently homegrown auto majors Mahindra &amp; Mahindra and Tata Motors have electric cars. While Hyundai launched is electric SUV Kona in July, MG Motor India is slated to bring ZS EV in January in the market.
While car market leader Maruti Suzuki has been testing a fleet of 50 electric cars based on its WagonR model platform, it has stated that it would not commercially launch electric car for public use citing lack of infrastructure and government support. Originally, the company had planned to launch it in 2020.
"When more EVs are launched, it adds to the fuel," he said, adding e-mobility would also bring sharing of charging infrastructure in future.
Asked about revenue targets from India, Barbuddhe said for the company till this year there was no formal business "but from next year we have a formal budget we have to chase in the market revenue of USD 10 million".
He said the company has committed investment of USD 500 million by up to 2026. Of this USD 200 million is on setting up of the first phase of Krishnagiri plant and R&amp;D lab. Spread over 125 acres, the Krishnagiri units will be developed in five phases, which include SEZ as well.
Delta Electronics has two other factories at Rudrapur and Hosur.
"As of now we have a capacity of 100 EV chargers per month, which we can ramp up to 500 in three months time. We have no constraints but we will do it as per market demand," Barbuddhe said.
Recently, the company introduced its next generation charging solutions -- DC City Charger and AC Max -- that will cater to the need of public charging infrastructure.
It has also unveiled its E-Mobility Tech Experience Center conceptualised to provide an industry platform to support all types of ratings and configurations and become an enabler in understanding the ecosystem of EV charging solutions.

The government has started a PLI scheme under which eligible companies can get sops of around Rs 48,000 crore. The government has cleared 16 proposals from domestic and international companies entailing investment of Rs 11,000 crore under the PLI scheme to manufacture mobile phones worth Rs 10.5 lakh crore over the next five years. The companies include iPhone maker Apple's contract manufacturers Foxconn Hon Hai, Wistron and Pegatron, apart from Samsung and Rising Star. Domestic companies whose proposals have been approved include Lava, Bhagwati (Micromax), Padget Electronics (Dixon Technologies), UTL Neolyncs and Optiemus. "The application of the FRAND commitment in this instance is in relation to various global cross-licences that cover both parties' patents for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G cellular standards," reports ZDNet. "Samsung's breach has caused Ericsson to suffer actual damages, such as Ericsson's costs and expenses in pursuing futile negotiations with Samsung in an amount to be determined at trial. In addition, Ericsson is further entitled to obtain specific performance under French law," the lawsuit read. Samsung was yet to react on the Ericsson lawsuit. The Swedish company said it is seeking to attain a declaration that it has complied with its FRAND commitment, and that Samsung has not. With several of the licensing deals set to expire next year and negotiations still ongoing, Ericsson said the payment of IP royalties may be delayed. "In the event of delayed royalty payments and the potential costs of litigation, Ericsson predicted its operating income could decline by SEK 1-1.5 billion per quarter from 2021 onwards". 3. Assets: Everything the company owns on its name, including the cash, equipments, land, technology etc. which shows the total wealth of the company. 
4. At the money: A situation at which an options strike price is identical to the price of the underlying securities. Options trading activity tends to be high when options are at the money. 
5. <keyword id="111974" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="bear-market">Bear Market</keyword>: A market in which stock prices are falling consistently. 
6. Beta: It is a measurement of relationship between stock price of any particular stock and the movement of whole market. 
7. Bid: It is the highest price a buyer is willing to pay for a stock. It is opposite of ask/offer. 
8. Blue Chip Stock: Stocks of large, well-established and financially-sound companies which hold a record of consistently increasing rate of paying the dividends over decades to its stock holders. Blue chip stocks typically have a market capitalization in thousands of crores. 
9. Board Lot: A standard trading unit as defined by the particular exchange board. Board lot size usually depends on the per share price. Common board lot size are 50, 100, 500, 1000 units. 
10. Bonds: It is promissory note issued by companies or government to its buyers. It speaks about the specified amount held for a specified time period by the buyer. 
11. Book: An electronic record of managing all the pending buy and sell orders of particular stocks. 
12. <keyword id="2665448" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Broker/Brokerage-Firm">Broker/Brokerage Firm</keyword>:A registered securities firm are called <keyword id="49221" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Broker">broker</keyword>/brokerage firm. Broker’s acts as an advisor for purchase and sell of listed stocks, they do not own the securities at any point of the time. But they charge a commission for their service. 
13. Bull Market: A market in which the stock price are increasing consistently. 
14. Business Day: Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. 
15. Call Option: An option that is given to investor the right but not obligation to buy a particular stock at a specified price within a specified time period. 
16. Close Price: The final price at which the stock is traded on a given particular trading day. 
17. Commodities: Product used for commerce that are traded on a separate, authorized commodities platform. Commodities include agricultural products and natural resources. 
18. Convertible Securities: A security (bonds, debentures, preferred stocks) by an issuer that can be converted into other securities of that issuer are known as convertible securities. The conversion usually occurs at the option of the holder, but it may occur at the option of the issuer. 
19. Debentures: A type of debt instrument that is not secured by physical assets or collateral. Debentures are backed only by the general creditworthiness and reputation of the issuer.A debenture is an unsecured form of investment. 
20. Defensive Stock: A stock that provides a constant dividends and stable earnings even in the periods of economic downturn i.e. even in the extreme critical situations of the stock market these companies continue to pay the dividends at a constant rate. 
21. Delta: The ratio that compares the change in the price of the underlying asset to the corresponding change in the price of a derivative. Sometimes referred to as the hedge ratio. It has a range from 0 to 1. 
22. Derivatives: A security whose price is derived from one or more underlying assets. The most common underlying assets include stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, interest rates and market indexes. 
23. Diversification: Reducing the investment risk by purchasing shares of different companies operating in different sectors. 
24. Dividend: A portion of the company’s earnings decided to pay to its shareholders in return to their <keyword id="6362476" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="investments">investments</keyword>. It is usually declared as a percentage of current share price or some specified INR value, usually decided by the board of directors of the company. 
25. Equity: Common and preferred stocks, which represents shares in the ownership of a company. 
26. Face value: It is the cash denomination or the amount of money the holder of the individual security going to earn from the issuer of the security at the time of maturity. It is also known as par value. 
27. Hedge: A strategy or an attempt in reducing the risk of adverse price movements of assets. 
28. Income Stock: A security which has a solid record of dividend payments and offers the dividend higher than the common stocks. 
29. Index: A statistical measurement of change in the economy or security market. Indices have their own calculation methodology and are usually measured as a percentage change in the base value over the time. 
30. Initial Public Offering (IPO): A company’s first issue of shares to general public. IPOs are issued by smaller, younger companies seeking funds for expansion and growth, but large companies also practice this to become publicly traded companies. 
31. Internet Trading: Internet Trading is a platform with Internet as a medium. Internet trading execution takes place through order routing system, which will rout traders order to exchange trading system. Thus traders sitting in any part of the world can be able to trade using their brokers Internet Trading System. <keyword id="139797" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="The-Securities-and-Exchange-Board-of-India">The Securities and Exchange Board of India</keyword> (SEBI) approved Internet Trading in January 2000. 
32. Limit Order: An order to buy or sell a share at a specified price. The order will be executed only at the specified limit price or even better. A limit order sets a minimum price the seller is willing to accept and maximum price the buyer is willing to pay for it. 
33. Listed Stocks: The shares of an issuer that are traded on the stock exchange. The issuer has to pay fees to be listed in the stock exchange and abide by the regulations of the stock exchange to maintain listing privilege. 
34. Market Capitalization: The total value in INR of all of a company’s outstanding shares. It is calculated by multiplying all the outstanding shares with the current market price of one share. It determines the company’s size in terms of its wealth. 
35. Mutual Fund: A pool of money managed by experts by investing in stocks, bonds and other securities with the objective of improving their savings. These experts will create a diversified portfolio from these funds. 
36. Odd Lot: A number of shares which are less than or greater than but not equal to the board lot size. For example, if the board lot size is 100 shares, an odd lot would be 95 or 102 shares. Usually odd lots are difficult for trading and it is not accepted easily in the market. 
37. One-sided Market: A market that has only potential sellers or only potential buyers but not both. 
38. Out-of-The-Money (OTM): For call options, this means the stock price is below the strike price. For put options, this means the stock price is above the strike price. The price of out-of-the-money options consists entirely of “time value.” 
39. Portfolio: Holding of any individual or institution. A portfolio may include various type of securities of different companies operating in different sectors. 
40. Positions Limit: Maximum number of futures and options contract that any individual investor can hold at any given point of time. 
41. Pre-opening Session: The pre-open session is for duration of 15 minutes i.e. from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM. In pre-open session order entry, modification and cancelation takes place. 
42. Price Earnings (P/E) Ratio: A valuation of companies last traded share price to its latest reported 12 months earnings per share. For example, if the last traded share price of any X company is INR 40 and earnings over a last 12 months per share is INR 2, then the P/E ratio of that X company is INR 20 (40/2) 
43. Put Option: An option that is given to investor the right to sell a particular stock at a stated price within a specified time period. Put option is purchased by those who believe that particular stock price is going to fall down than the stated price. 
44. Risk:A probable chances of investments actual returns will be reduced then as calculated. Risk is usually measured by calculating the standard deviation of the historical price returns. Standard deviation is directly proportional to the degree of risk associated. 
45. Securities: A transferable certificate of ownership of investment in products such as stocks, bonds, future contracts and options which an individual holds. 
46. Strike Price: The price at which the holder of an option can buy (in case of call option) or sell (in case of put option) the securities they hold when the option is executed. 
47. Stock Split: An attempt to increase the number of outstanding shares of a company by splitting the existing shares. It is usually done to increase the availability of shares in the market. The usual split ratio is 2:1 or 3:1, i.e. one share is split into two or three. 
48. Thin Market: A market in which there are comparatively low number of bids to buy and offers to sell. Since the number of transactions is low the prices are very volatile. 
49. Trading session: The period of time from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM is open for trading for both sellers and buyers, within this time frame all the orders of the day must be placed. Here all the orders placed in pre-opening sessions are matched and executed. 
50. Yield: It is the measure of return on investments in terms of percentage. Stock yield is calculated by dividing the current price of the share by the annual dividend paid by the company for that share. For example, if the current price of the share is INR 100 and the dividend paid is INR 5 per share annually, then the stock yield is 5%.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq was flat, closing the day with just 0.01% gains. “U.S. stocks finished modestly higher on Tuesday, bouncing after a four-session skid, as investors gauged whether the recent losing streak in equities has been overdone. Traders also weighed the potential ripple effects of the Bank of Japan’s surprise announcement to put a higher ceiling on government bond yields,” added Jasani. In Asia, markets were mixed on Wednesday morning amid a surge of Covid-19 cases in China. While the Hang Seng index gained 0.36%, the Shanghai Composite was up 0.25%, and Taiwan Weighted gained 0.68%. Nikkei 225, on the other hand, was down 0.22%. In fact, Trump administration officials are expected to meet with their European counterparts in Brussels on Wednesday to discuss exactly that.Officially, the DHS has not made a final decision regarding an expansion of the ban that currently affects 10 airports in the Middle East and North Africa.However, aviation analyst and airline sources tell Business Insider that such a ban is inevitable and could go into effect within a matter of a few weeks.According <a href="https://twitter.com/SpoxDHS/status/862714365564375040/photo/1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">to the DHS</a>, the need for the prohibition of all electronic devices larger than a cell phone from entering the cabin is due to intelligence that suggests terrorists have developed techniques to smuggle explosives in such devices. So, with an expanded new ban looming, what does this all mean for airlines, airports, and most importantly, the passengers?"If the electronics ban is expanded, we're in for a summer of international travel hell," airline industry analyst Henry Harteveldt told Business Insider in an email. For one thing, the scope of a laptop ban on flights coming from Europe dwarfs that of the Middle Eastern/North African ban that affects 50 daily flights operated by nine airlines.According to a report issued by airfare forecasting app<a href="http://www.hopper.com/research/the-impact-of-the-potential-trans-atlantic-electronics-ban" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Hopper</a>, a European ban would affect an average of 400 non-stop flights per day from 49 airports operated by 53 airlines.As a result, a policy change affecting such a massive number of international route networks will be exceedingly complex.Adding to the complexity of the situation is the fact that when the ban is confirmed, it will be implemented "swiftly and suddenly" to head off any potential terrorist acts, Airways senior business analyst Vinay Bhaskara told Business Insider. The resulting "havoc" and hassle caused by the ban for travelers concern Harteveldt."Airports will become zoos. The additional security screening time may require passengers to arrive at airports four or more hours in advance of flights," he told us.As for the affected airlines, most have remained tight lipped about their response planning. However, those that have spoken with us have said they have a contingency plan in place ready to be rolled out to customers and employees through direct messaging, news, and social media.For their customers, their message is centered around keeping large electronics at home when it comes time to travel to Europe.At the same time, secure laptop valet and loaner laptops service have also been considered. Customer experience aside, a laptop ban could have a profound effect the airlines from a business perspective."I am concerned an expansion of the ban may wreak extensive financial impact on airlines. If demand falls, some airlines may lay off workers,"Harteveldt said. According to Hopper's chief data scientist Patrick Surry, 80% of the flights affected by an expanded ban are operated by 10 airlines led by Delta, British Airways, United, American, and Lufthansa. <img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/536d26c5ecad042d593e69c4-1960/british%20airways%20a380firstf154.jpg" alt="British Airways A380First_F154" />British AirwaysBritish Airways first class.Harteveldt's concerns lie with the fact that such a ban will disproportionately affect business travelers - a highly-lucrative customer base airlines flying across the Atlantic need to make ends meet. "These traveler's are often required to keep company-issued electronics with them, and are told not to check laptops or other electronics. As a result, these travelers may cancel trips or their companies may explore chartering aircraft," he told us.However, Bhaskara remains more optimistic about the potential harm the ban may have of airlines. "I don't think we'll see a huge effect in the market for flights traveling between Europe and the US as destinations," he said. "If you're going to Europe for business, you're going to Europe for business because you or your company has significant business interests there. For these flights, customers will likely turn to high quality options from Asia such as Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, ANA, JAL, Asiana, or Korean Air. In addition, China's four major international carriers (Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, and Hainan) have all been heavily discounting their tickets and will snag some of that business as well.With that said, there is a silver lining for travelers headed to South Asia.
