According to an IANS report, a case has been lodged in Khazuri Khas police station against him. New Delhi, Jan 6 () Top industrialists Anand Mahindra, Harsh Mariwala and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw have condemned violence at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Sunday night, saying such acts cannot be tolerated and the perpetrators must be hunted down swiftly.
Speaking up against the violence, Marico Ltd Chairman Harsh Mariwala tweeted, "Coming from the land of non-violence, it's unbecoming of us to witness and encourage these acts of violence. Extremely hurt seeing last evening's news".
Expressing similar views, in a tweet late last evening Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra said, "It doesn't matter what your politics are. It doesn't matter what your ideology is. It doesn't matter what your faith is. If you're an Indian, you cannot tolerate armed, lawless goons. Those who invaded JNU tonight must be traced &amp; hunted down swiftly &amp; given no quarter..."
Likewise, reacting to a video of an injured student who claimed she was beaten up, Biocon CMD Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw tweeted, "This is unpardonable. Violence cannot be condoned".
Violence broke out at JNU on Sunday night as a group of masked people armed with sticks attacked students and teachers and damaged property on the campus, prompting the administration to call in the police.

He is also seeking an anticipatory bail in the case and the hearing is scheduled for Wednesday. Amid this chaos, Addition Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) on Tuesday informed the media persons that it was the Delhi Police which saved Hussain from being killed during the violence. Now, he is a 'murderer'. But the life journey of this eighth class drop-out crorepati is quite interesting and one would rarely believe that he left home for Delhi in the search of livelihood. Interesting, in 20 years he has made a good wealth and during the civic election 2017 he had declared his total assets worth Rs 17 crore. 43-year-old Hussain was born to a poor family in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district. He faced all the adversaries, first poverty, then unsecured childhood and moreover, a stepmother. In this condition he had no option than living the home in search of a better life. During initial days, he had to do a lot of struggle but Hussain left no stone unturned to change his fate. He worked in a furniture repairing shop. After being perfect in work, he started own furniture factory and also helped marginalised, poor, uneducated and less-educated people by giving them an opportunity in his factory. Thereafter, the life took a swing and catapulted him to the helm of success. Being financial capable was not enough for Hussain, hence, he entered the politics. In 2017, he won the civic elections from Ward number 59, Nehru Vihar, which comes under Mustafabad Assembly constituency in east Delhi. Hopeful with his success, Hussain had sold his ancestral house sometimes back. But now, when he is wanted in the murder case of an IB staffer, the police is expecting that Hussain must be hidden in his old house. "Delhi Police have not contacted us in connection with Hussain. If the Delhi Police have approached to Pourara (Hussain's village), they would have contacted us. But it has not happened so far," the Adampur SHO told IANS over phone. Paurara village falls under the Adampur police station. It can not be ruled out that Hussain is hiding somewhere in Delhi and he himself has spread the rumours about his missing. Whatever is the truth, but Hussain, who was once saved by the Delhi Police from being killed during the Delhi riots, is now an accused in the police record itself.

"It felt triggering and humiliating," she said during a phone call with Insider.<div type="image" title="Hasiba Amin" height="2978" width="3971" msid="88794208" hostid="261"></div>Amin, who works as the social media convenor for India's Congress Party, was one of more than 100 influential Muslim women featured on "Bulli Bai" — an app hosted on GitHub, which has since been taken down."Bulli Bai" is a phrase that combines vulgar slang for the word "penis" in southern India with a word common in northern India meaning "maid," according to Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of Indian fact-checking website Alt <keyword id="11893589" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="news" source="Orion">News</keyword>, per <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/2022/01/03/tech/bulli-bai-india-muslim-women-sale-intl-hnk/index.html">CNN.</a>"Bulli Bai" featured stolen images of exclusively Muslim women and offered them for "sale" in fake auctions.Users "offered their price" for the women by sharing their profiles to Twitter in quote tweets, Amin said. "The commentary was very sexual in nature, extremely explicit," she explained. Vishal Jha, Shweta Singh, Mayank Rawal, and Niraj Bishnoi — all between 18 and 21 years old — are suspects, per the Indian newspaper <a href="https://theprint.in/opinion/newsmaker-of-the-week/bulli-bai-app-and-the-descent-of-indias-educated-youth-into-using-tech-for-anti-muslim-hate/798349/">The Print.</a>This isn't the first attempt to harass <keyword id="11894456" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="muslims" source="Orion">Muslims</keyword> in India by using their stolen photos in a fake auction.In July last year, Amin's photo was featured on an app called "Sulli Deals." The photos of more than 80 Muslim women were displayed, with some featuring as "deals of the day."Police have investigated "Sulli Deals," per BBC News, but nobody has been charged in connection with it.Hana Mohsin Khan, a commercial pilot from Noida, was featured in "Sulli Deals" last summer. "We are being viciously targeted," she said. Qurutulain Rehbar, a Kashmiri journalist who featured on both apps, told Insider that apps' names alone signal that they were designed to "dehumanize" Muslim women. The terms "bulli" and "sulli" are sexist and usually Islamophobic slurs typically used by internet trolls."These are derogatory terms which Hindu radicals use," Rehbar explained. "It's hard being a Muslim woman in India, and I think their intention is to make us feel humiliated."Amin agreed, saying that the apps exist in an "ecosystem of hate" that is bolstered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's support of Hindu nationalism that promotes the hegemony of Hinduism in India.According to <a href="https://www.ohchr.org/Documents/Issues/Religion/Islamophobia-AntiMuslim/Civil%20Society%20or%20Individuals/CitizensAgainstHate.pdf">a recent report</a> by Delhi-based human rights organization Citizens Against Hate, there has been a rise of Islamophobic hate crimes in India since Modi came to power in 2014.And it's not only social media that is used to threaten India's 200 million Muslims. Vigilante violence against Muslims by Hindu nationalist groups has become more widespread. Experts have warned, according to <a href="https://www.dw.com/en/india-are-anti-muslim-attacks-becoming-the-norm/a-60046964">DW,</a> that anti-Muslim attacks are now becoming rampant in India. Amin said that knowing the political climate in India, she fears the humiliation she endured online could translate into "real-life" violence."If I'm dehumanized and my picture is out there, or my Twitter handle is out there, my details are probably out there," she said. "What guarantee do I have that someone will not see me on the road and actually come and attack me?"
