If you aren’t amongst the ‘many’ who eat and drink fashion, there is no harm for you to think that what the hell is happening at the JLN stadium in south Delhi. Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai and Amazon India Fashion Week in Delhi (formerly <keyword id="61798" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Wills-India-Fashion-Week">Wills India Fashion Week</keyword>) are the primary platforms for ace designers. These are the fashion weeks where you would find Shantanu - Nikhil, Shaina NC, Anupamaa Dayal, <keyword id="850" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Malini-Ramani">Malini Ramani</keyword>, <keyword id="23208" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rina-Dhaka">Rina Dhaka</keyword>, Abraham -Thakore and other prominent designers unveiling their newest collections. These are the ones where the editors of largest fashion magazines and buyers of biggest stores attend. 
While most Indian fashion weeks in other cities are raw talents coming of age, the ongoing Amazon India Fashion Week has already created a niche. 
 
Which season is it now? 
In case you are frowning about Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter (A/W) and doubting the organizers’ sense of geography, when Delhi is recording 26 degree Celsius, let me tell you, fashion is always six months ahead of its calendar. So the collection unveiled now would take a minimum window of five months to reach the stores. It’s depending on the trends this season; the big brands would start working on their winter collections. 
 
How does it feel to be at the show? 
In most fashion weeks in India, there would be two-three ‘Main Stage Area’. So when a show ends at one ramp, the next show is scheduled at the other. This is done to make sure there is enough time to prepare the ramp. 
 
While the ramp is a flat platform, arranging the lights, choreographing the walk of models and of course the entire set up take time. Seated at the second or front row of a fashion week is a privilege enjoyed by media, celebrities VIPs and socialites. 
 
The entire event is an organized chaos. If you find a show starting sharp at time, you need to know that show has no future. Shows generally start 15-20 minutes late and even an hour later than the scheduled. The first thing you need to figure out is which gate is permitting which guests. If you are a VIP and want to sneak in from Media gate, you won’t be allowed. The bouncers are made sure to be ‘too rude’ to handle the crowd. 
 
How do fashion weeks in India make money? Now here comes the real question. While some fashion weeks have ticketing facilities where guests can buy passes, the popular ones don’t offer such easy avenues of entry. The main source of money for any fashion week is of course the sponsors. This season of Amazon India Fashion Week has ben sponsored by Amazon, Maybelline, Nexa, Suthol, <keyword id="215177" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vivo">Vivo</keyword>. Bangladesh requests India to withdraw ban on onion export

New Delhi, Mar 19 () SpiceJet has announced that it was "forced" to suspend majority of its international flight operations from Saturday till the end of the next month due to the "unprecedented situation" arising over the novel coronavirus pandemic. Major airlines across the world have been curtailing their flight operations drastically as the aviation industry has been hit hard after many countries, including India, have partially sealed their borders amid the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019). "In view of the unprecedented situation arising due to COVID-19, SpiceJet is forced to temporarily suspend majority of its international operations from 21st March till 30th April, 2020," a SpiceJet spokesperson stated on Thursday. "We will resume the suspended flights as soon as the situation normalises." The spokesperson, however, said the airline's Kolkata-Dhaka flight would continue to operate as per schedule. "Our Chennai-Colombo flight will restart from the 25th March, 2020, while our Delhi-Dubai and Mumbai-Dubai flights will resume from 16th April, 2020," the official added. DSPHMB

COVID-19: SpiceJet 'forced' to suspend most international flights till April-end

New Delhi, Dec 23 () Mumbai may be popular as the city that never sleeps, but Surat and Ahmedabad seem to be equally awake in wee hours of morning, taking most cab rides between 2-5 AM, according to Uber's annual review.
 Pune and Kochi also featured in the top 5 cities in India in 2019 that saw the highest percentage of trips between 2 AM and 5 AM.
 The US-based company said Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai were the top 5 Indian cities, accounting for the highest number of Uber rides in 2019.
 These cities also topped the tally of riders taking UberPOOL (shared) rides this year.
 Interestingly, Uber recorded the highest number of rides on its platform this year in India on December 7 and 6. 
 While the company did not provide any reasoning, it said Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai accounted for the highest share of these rides.
 Delhi, it said, led by a significant margin, and the rest of the four were close to each other.
 These four cities were also the top 5 cities in India with the highest number of Uber rides by international travellers in 2019, as per the data.
 London, San Francisco, Doha, Dhaka and Toronto were the five leading cities with the highest number of rides this year by India-registered users.
 "We're excited about showcasing how India 'Ubered' in 2019. It is humbling to see that our vision of a multimodal mobility solution is fitting so well in the everyday life of Indian riders...," Uber Head of Cities, India and South Asia Prabhjeet Singh said. SR RVK
