In his first reaction to incidents of <keyword id="6355987" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Violence">violence</keyword> in Delhi which have left at least 20 people dead, Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> on Wednesday appealed for <keyword id="979" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="peace">peace</keyword> and brotherhood, and said he has held an extensive review of the prevailing situation in various parts of the national capital. He also said it was important that calm and normalcy was restored at the earliest. "Had an extensive review on the situation prevailing in various parts of Delhi. Police and other agencies are working on the ground to ensure peace and normalcy," Modi tweeted. Stressing that peace and harmony are "central to our ethos", Modi said, "I appeal to my sisters and brothers of Delhi to maintain peace and brotherhood at all times." At least 20 people have been killed since Sunday in communal violence in <keyword id="101786" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="northeast-Delhi">Northeast Delhi</keyword>, triggered after clashes between pro and anti-CAA protestors over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

Last night, the central government sent a notification for his transfer to the Punjab and Haryana High Court despite protests from the Delhi High Court Bar Association. “Your lordship has been an inspiration to the entire young bar. Furthermore, he was a part of the bench that ruled in favour of disclosing how many Supreme Court judges had declared their assets in response to an RTI. Over the years, he delivered a number of impactful judgements. In 2009, he was a part of the bench which initially repealed section 377, legalising homosexuality. He also convicted politician Sajjan Kumar for his involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and revoked the transit demand of activist Gautam Navlakha in the Bhima Koregaon case. He’s also an author. He wrote the book Law, Poverty and Legal Aid: Access to Criminal Justice which was published in August 2004. "To reduce the stress on students, the board will conduct fresh exams for these students. The next date of exam for affected students will be notified shortly," he added.
