<ul><li>While the <keyword id="1754604" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="coronavirus">Coronavirus</keyword> outbreak has led to productions of films and daily soaps being stopped across the country, TV viewership is going up due to people staying at home.</li><li>However, the GECs re now faced with the challenge of coming up with fresh content for its viewers.</li><li>In such a scenario, how are these channels planning to tackle the situation?</li></ul>It’s been close to 2 weeks since India’s film and television bodies decided to suspend shootings from to avoid the spread of the novel Coronavirus. The Indian Film &amp; Television Directors' Association (IFTDA), Producers Guild of India and Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) had decided on March 17 to put production and shooting on hold till March 31. As the PM announced his 21-day complete lockdown, production will not start before April 14. The biggest impact of this will be on GEC channels that usually work with a content bank of about two weeks. However, with the lockdown, these channels will soon run out of fresh content to air. Considering most people are stuck at home, OTT and TV viewership saw a spike, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data. The total TV consumption saw a spike of 8% across India in the week ended March 20 (<keyword id="8763838" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="covid-19">Covid-19</keyword> Week 1), while the total time spent per user on smartphones went increased by 6.2% to 25 hours a week. Moreover, the consumption growth in the Hindi speaking markets (HSM) was at around 10% in comparison to the South region that grew by 5%. The HSM region saw an increase in terms of both reach and time spent. While this opens up possibilities for advertisers to catch more eyeballs, GECs are now faced with the problem of running out of content. Considering viewership is on the rise too, it presents an opportunity for both broadcasters and advertisers to make something out of an adverse situation. Dangal TV has seen a spike in its viewership, like most other GECs and is not focusing on new ideas. “Despite the COVID-19 challenge, Dangal TV is experiencing a spike in the average time spent.We are witnessing the early signs of a consumption uptick with an increase in the viewership. At Enterr10 Television Network, we are strongly connected and engaged with our viewers. Our numbers have been ahead of us. We are readily willing at focusing on exploring new ideas, IPs, etc. We haven’t stepped back in terms of exploring what more is possible, even during this period. Even in this unprecedented situation, we will continue to invest in good library, innovative programming and in distribution that will further aid in consolidating our position in both rural and urban markets. While there is huge competition amongst TV channels, our first priority is to consolidate, maintain and further strengthen our leadership position on television.” Pointing towards the fact that a lot of advertising on TV comes from FMCG that have been relatively less impacted, Sharma shared her optimism about the future. “The lockdown has hit the manufacturing, supply chain and consumption of all brands and that will invariably have an effect on ad spends. However, TV and digital will have a marginal impact as compared to other mediums like print, outdoors and radio as TV viewership is expected to see an upswing due to the forced lockdown. Secondly, a large amount of advertising revenue for a GEC comes from FMCG brands that are relatively less impacted in the current situation. Also, since it is an industry phenomenon, all GEC channels will witness a drop in ad spends,” explained Sharma. Added Agarwal, “Over the next 3 weeks, we expect content consumption on TV to go up as people look to keep themselves entertained. Given the temporary nature of the lockdown, it would be imprudent to quote any implication as of now, but we are sure that TV has become an essential service providing the much needed companionship to families in the current times.”

Having been in the market since 2013, Rockstar Games has sold around 90 million copies of the game worldwide according to <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/this-violent-videogame-has-made-more-money-than-any-movie-ever-2018-04-06">Marketwatch</a>. Since the game pans across all the platforms, the sales account for all the versions including PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. Not only has GTA V seen massive sales, but it has amassed approximately $6 billion in revenue. The number is impressive enough on it’s own but when you compare it to the revenue generated by our cinematic universe, it really puts things in perspective. GTA V came out in 2013, when Bollywood was releasing movies like <keyword id="227940" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chennai-Express">Chennai Express</keyword>, Race 2, and Kai Po Che. These were the highest grossing movies that year but even then, Chennai Express, which was ahead of the rest, only managed to generate $67 million in revenue. What really adds context to the $6 billion dollars generated by GTA V is the fact that despite their popularity and production value, even Hollywood movies don’t measure up. Epic features like Star Wars and Gone with the Wind get left in the dust at $3 billion. The reality of the situation is that GTA has more versions to its name than the Fast and Furious movies, and they’ve been building their fanbase for a long time now. The game operates on the edge of being plausible. But, no matter, the main characters remain relatable through and through. In all honesty, the gaming industry has always been bigger than both Hollywood and Bollywood. Any all-rounding game not only has direction, a narrative, originality and amazing stunts but also something that the film industry can’t provide - they give you a chance be a part of the story.

 Recently, photographer Deepak Ansuia did a photoshoot with the two Phogat sisters at <keyword id="4005755" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="shyam-lal-akhada">Shyam Lal Akhada</keyword> in New Delhi for Harper's Bazaar Bride and the results are stunning, to say the least!

Here’s how Aamir Khan lost 28 kgs in 5 months for his movie 'Dangal'

After a six-year-long wait since winning India’s first gold medal in women’s wrestling in the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=commonwealth+games&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Commonwealth Games</a>, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=haryana+cabinet&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Haryana cabinet</a> finally approved the appointment of wrestler <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=geeta+phogat&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Geeta Phogat</a> as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in the state police this Tuesday. 
 
The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Manohar+Lal+Khattar+&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Manohar Lal Khattar </a>in <keyword id="41646" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Haryana">Haryana</keyword>, approved a Home Department proposal in this regard. 
 
"She is a graduate and a sportsperson of international repute. She is also a gold medallist in wrestling at the 19th Commonwealth Games-2010 held in Delhi," a state government spokesperson said. 
 
Phogat, who was also the first Indian woman wrestler to have qualified for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=london+olympics&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">London Olympics</a> in 2012, was selected for appointment as Inspector in Haryana Police under sports quota that year. In March, this year, she moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court for promotion to a post on par with her achievements. The High Court then directed the Haryana government to decide on her representation within two months. 
 
But the wait for the reward made the star wrestler frustrated over the years. "Humein aadat ho gayi thi wait karne ki. Sab khush hain par jitni khushi honi chahiye thi, utni nahin hai (We got used to waiting. Everyone is happy but we are not as happy as we should have been)," Geeta had told the Indian Express. 
 
"While other players were appointed (as DSP) on winning gold in the same event, we were denied this for six long years." Geeta is the daughter of <keyword id="1940360" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mahavir-Singh-Phogat">Mahavir Singh Phogat</keyword> and her sisters include <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=rio+olympics&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Rio 2016 Olympics</a> participants <keyword id="2449644" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vinesh-Phogat">Vinesh Phogat</keyword> and Babita Kumari.

People were finding it hard to believe how a 51-year-old managed to attain such an unbelievably jacked-up physique.

Granted, this is not the first time that Khan has undergone a physical makeover for a movie- the actor had gotten eight-pack abs for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ghajini&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Ghajini</a> back in 2008, but anyone who has seen the picture will tell you- this is certainly Khan’s most jaw-dropping transformation till date. 
 
The biggest question on everyone’s minds was naturally unanimous- How did Khan do it?

India has only five laboratories in the country that undertake sequencing of the DNA and even then testing all genes- about 20,000-25,000 of them can be a rather expensive affair. 
 “To test something as simple as whether you are allergic to gluten it is as low as Rs 5,000, but if you want to do the whole gamut like <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword> did, it will cost you closer to about Rs 1 lakh, which would analyse everything related to food and nutrition,” revealed Fernando in an interview with Factordaily. 
 
As for Khan, the test resulted in him having to balance out his anti-oxidants. It showed that he should be avoiding refined carbohydrates as it may result in his cholesterol and triglycerides going up- all because there is a certain gene that might not be working well. 
 
Khan had to undergo rigorous workout sessions to gain 93 kgs from a weight of 68 kgs in six months- for his role of the ageing wrestler during the first phase of Dangal’s shoots. Later, he also had a weight loss target of 25 kgs before he could begin shooting for the next phase.
