<ul class="summary-list"><li>David Arquette spoke with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM's "<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfR7kIJWtyw" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Andy Cohen Live</a>" Friday.</li><li>Cohen asked whether he felt "inferior" or "less than" ex-wife Courteney Cox during her "Friends" fame.</li></ul><p>David Arquette opened up about his relationship with ex-wife Courteney Cox, describing the difficulty of "comparing" himself to a partner who'd achieved meteoric Hollywood success.</p><p>In a conversation on SiriusXM's <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfR7kIJWtyw" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">"Andy Cohen Live,"</a> Cohen asked Arquette whether he felt "inferior to" or "less than" Cox during her "Friends" stardom. Cox played Monica Geller on the show for 10 seasons between 1994 and 2004. </p><p>"Yeah, absolutely. It's difficult," Arquette told Cohen. "I have some of the traditional male things where I want to like, you know, provide and pick up the check and, you know, be the breadwinner."</p><p>Arquette, 51, is known for his roles in "Never Been Kissed" and the "Scream" franchise. </p><p>Arquette and Cox were married for 11 years. <a href="https://people.com/movies/courteney-cox-david-arquette-relationship-timeline/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According to People</a>, the pair met in the 1990s before filming the first "Scream" movie and filed for divorce in 2012. The two share <a href="https://www.insider.com/courteney-coxs-daughter-calls-mom-cheugy-instagram-reels-2023-3">their 18-year-old daughter</a>, Coco. </p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/nfR7kIJWtyw" frameborder="0"></iframe><p>"In the acting world, in general, you're always going on this roller coaster of popularity and not able to get a job," Arquette said. "So it's like this weird thing. And then, when you're comparing yourself to someone who's at the top of the television iconic world, it's kind of hard to put yourself there."</p><p>Arquette added there was a lot of "pain and arguments and ego" early on in the couple's marriage and revealed they were "learning and dealing with" their differing levels of fame throughout the relationship.</p><p>A representative for Cox did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.</p><p>In <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/david-arquette-courteney-cox-scream-5-co-parenting-coco-170325640.html">a 2020 interview with Yahoo! Entertainment</a>, Arquette said he and Cox "have a really great relationship," in part thanks to having to co-parent Coco.</p><p>"We're friends, and we've communicated a lot because of Coco," he told the outlet at the time.</p>

Both Casey and her boyfriend are eventually killed by a masked figure. </p><p>"The first sequence that was shot was the Drew Barrymore sequence. The studio hated the dailies," editor Patrick Lussier <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/scream-movie-cast-stories-1235038248/">told The Hollywood Reporter</a>, referring to the daily footage (or "dailies") of the film that had been shown to executives.</p><div type="image" title="Scream Drew Barrymore" height="1341" width="2000" msid="88760025" hostid="261"></div><p>Screenwriter Kevin Williamson was filming another scene for "Scream" with Craven when the director got a call from the studio about the movie's opening.</p><p>"They didn't think anything about it was good. They didn't understand the lack of footage and they didn't see his vision for that sequence at all," Williamson recalled. </p><p>According to the report in the THR, the filmmakers cut together another edit of the opening scene and screened it for Dimension Films. After executives saw the new cut, Craven was given the green light to continue production. </p><p>"They immediately called out and said, 'We are so wrong. This works so incredibly well. We can't believe how suspenseful and terrifying this is. We clearly had no idea how to look at what you were doing,'" Lussier recalled. </p>
