A sauna is a nice touch. A Jet Ski or two makes days at sea way more fun. And if you don't have someone on board who can whip up a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-michelin-starred-chefs-new-it-item-ultra-wealthy-people2020-10">Michelin-star-worthy meal</a>, you might as well stay on land.In the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/biggest-most-expensive-superyacht-boat-palm-beach-yacht-show-2024-3">world of massive yachts</a>, there's no such thing as too much. After all, if someone spends eight or nine figures to design the vessel of their dreams — or at least $500,000 a week to charter one — more is more."Yachting. It's not rational; it's emotional," Ralph Dazert, the head of intelligence at SuperYacht Times, told Business Insider at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, where dozens of superyachts — often defined as vessels over 30 meters in length — were on display.And while there are certain classic features, such as jacuzzis and bars, what superyacht owners want is evolving, insiders at the show said. That might mean more crew members, more space for helicopters, or more water toys, but might also include manicure salons and putting greens.<div type="image" title="Talisman C massage room" height="1002" width="1986" msid="108874350" hostid="261"></div>"The bar of what is the baseline expectation has increased exponentially just over the last four or five years," Anders Kurtén, the CEO of brokerage Fraser Yachts, said. Clients are "spending more time on the boat and really wanting to extend the lifestyle they lead on the shore."A lot of this can be chalked up to the pandemic. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/inside-the-secretive-world-of-superyachts-2023-8">Superyacht purchases and charters</a> spiked as life and luxury travel on land screeched to a halt. While the market has moderated slightly, the number of superyachts on order — 1,166 as of September, according to Boat International's Global Order Book — is still above pre-pandemic norms."What the pandemic really showed is that the appetite for being out there at sea, sort of living the marine lifestyle, is still as valid as ever," Kurtén said.That means there's a lot of money on the water. The total value of the 203 superyachts over 30 meters delivered last year was $6.4 billion, according to data from SuperYacht Times. New custom builds from the world's most prestigious shipyards — Lurssen, Feadship, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/jeff-bezos-yacht">Oceanco</a>, Benetti — can run into the hundreds of millions. Even used superyachts at the Palm Beach show cost as much as $75 million.And it's not just traditional buyers like retired wealthy couples looking for a place to relax or celebrities looking for a place to party away from the paparazzi. New clients are often younger and have families, so want <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/billionaires-working-remotely-from-superyachts-running-businesses-from-the-seas-2023-9">areas to work and watch movies</a>. They also want pricey water toys, access to fitness equipment, or even pizza ovens for picky eaters.<div type="image" title="Nero gym" height="1008" width="1504" msid="108874515" hostid="261"></div>"This would've never happened in the nineties," said Giovanna Vitelli, the vice president of the Azimut Benetti Group, the world's biggest producer of superyachts. "You would go with your beautiful woman, Champagne — the idea of yachting was much more showing off with your jacuzzi and things like that."<h2>Pure opulence has made room for function.</h2>When Benetti's Nabila set sail in 1980, its 50-person crew, gold-and-diamond-encrusted interiors, and lavish parties captured headlines and even inspired the Queen song "Kashoggi's Ship."(Seven years later, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-has-deep-ties-with-saudis-from-selling-yacht-to-sword-dancing-2018-10">Donald Trump bought Nabila for $30 million</a>, renaming her the Trump Princess.)"Life on board was considered very formal — big formal dining rooms, boats were high on the water, you would be segregated from the rest of the world," Vitelli said, remembering another client who insisted on a replica of the Sistine Chapel above the dining table.<div type="image" title="Nabila yacht" height="3773" width="5008" msid="108874516" hostid="261"></div>But the ostentatious, palatial-like interiors that used to be highlighted in yacht brochures have made way for <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/superyachts-perks-imax-theaters-hospitals-helipads-ski-rooms-2022-7">lists of more functional features</a>.Rather than esoteric novelties like an extra-large safe for rifles that one builder had to construct per a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/seized-russian-oligarchs-superyachts-limbo-sanctions-2024-3">Russian yacht owner's request</a>, the superyachts on display at the Palm Beach show featured basketball courts, saunas, and ice baths.Owners want elevators and luxury gyms. Pampering options, be it a massage room, manicure station, or a professional-grade facial machine, are a dime a dozen. Some bathrooms have fancy Toto toilets, which can cost around $20,000.Sterns (that's the back of the boat) used to be built high to guard guests' privacy. Now, they're built as "beach clubs" — an open swim platform.<div type="image" title="Triumph bathroom" height="853" width="1280" msid="108874519" hostid="261"></div>And what good is a massage room if no one on board can give one? Many <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/sanctioned-yacht-crew-play-call-of-duty-swim-infinity-pool-2023-5">superyachts can hold twice as many crew members</a> as guests, if not more. One broker, representing a boat that didn't have a masseuse, said it could be quite a "tricky" issue because if a charter wants one, they have to find someone who can massage guests and "pull their weight with the crew.""It's not uncommon to look for a deckhand who can also mix a martini, play an instrument, maybe entertain the guests with singing, and ideally even give a massage," Kurtén said.Of course, a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/yacht-stewardess-florida-earns-5000-month-travel-careers-2022-4">crew comes at a cost</a>. Most are considered full-time employees, requiring salaries and benefits like health insurance. Captains, first mates, and chief engineers often make six figures a year. That's without tips; a charter guest will typically spend six figures on gratuities for the crew who worked during a weeklong vacation.<div type="image" title="Benetti Grateful" height="958" width="1280" msid="108874520" hostid="261"></div><h2>For the superrich, there must be room for toys.</h2>It's not just the onboard amenities that count. What's known as "toys" in the industry — water slides, eFoils, Jet Skis, and underwater scuba diving jets — are popular, and costs range from merely hundreds of dollars (banana boats) to millions (<a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/see-inside-triton-submersibles-submarines-james-cameron-ray-dalio-backed-2023-1">submersibles</a>, which are still popular despite the recent tragedy)."Tenders and toys, the sky seems to be the limit," Kurtén said. "More is more."Of course, if you can't fit all those toys in the yacht's storage space, you can just use another boat. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/jeff-bezos-yacht-superyacht-koru-beautiful-amazing-insiders-say-2024-3">Jeff Bezos' support yacht</a> is a superyacht in itself, measuring 75 meters and costing tens of millions of dollars. The Nero, a 90-meter beauty available to charter for about $500,000 a week and modeled after J.P. Morgan's 1930s ship, has custom-built tenders to match the design. The most expensive ones often cost seven figures. Nero has three."It used to be a tender was a tender," Jeffrey Beneville, who handles yacht insurance at NFP, told BI. "Now they're called limousine tenders. Think of an incredibly luxurious gondola that's got a hard top so nobody's hair gets mussed when they're being dropped off at the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/monaco-monte-carlo-wealth-luxury-most-rich-photos-2022-10">Monaco Yacht Club</a>."One thing that clearly hasn't changed in superyachting: showing off. If the boat next door at the marina has an indoor-outdoor cinema, it's natural to want one too. That's the second largest share behind United States, which contributed 11.9 million passengers that year.China's cruise tourists are also big spenders on board the ships, Michael Bayley, CEO of Royal Caribbean International, said on a May earnings call."The value of a Chinese customer is very high," Bayley told investors. "When you look at the net revenue from a Chinese consumer, it's typically around the same level as an American and slightly higher."All the cruise giants agree: China is a jackpot worth fighting for. Cao said. "The next 10 years will be quite interesting. A lot of things can go right or go wrong."The cruise industry is uniquely positioned to make some risky bets, however, since its assets are mobile. In 2018, Norwegian Cruise Line moved the Norwegian Joy — a ship specifically designed for Chinese passengers — from China to Alaska. Following the move and $50 million in renovations, Andy Stuart, the cruise line's CEO at the time, <a target="_blank" href="https://skift.com/2018/07/18/norwegian-cruise-line-is-moving-its-built-for-china-ship-to-the-u-s/">told Skift</a> that "China's a good market. But it's not as good as Alaska."<h2>China built its first cruise ship, but can it supply its 20 million parts?</h2>Large <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/royal-caribbeans-icon-of-the-seas-under-construction-photos-2023-5">cruise ships cost more than $1 billion to build</a> and require 20 million parts from hundreds of suppliers, Yang Guobing, chairman of CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping, told the state-owned Global Times. That's 10 times more parts than large aircraft and 50 times more parts than high-speed trains, he said.China has been expanding local supply chains in high-tech industries, such as <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cheap-chinese-electric-cars-will-upend-the-us-vehicle-market-2023-5">electric vehicles</a> and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/comac-c919-chinese-commercial-jet-built-rival-boeing-and-airbus-2022-2">commercial aircraft</a>, with the goal of becoming <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-xi-jiinping-future-tech-global-economy-semiconductors-military-failing-2022-9">less reliant on foreign suppliers</a>. But it still has a ways to go when it comes to building cruise ships.While the Adora Magic City was constructed in a Chinese shipyard, many parts were likely imported from different countries, Cao told Insider. But the government has long-term plans to create their own domestic supply chain, he said."It's part of [China's] economic ambition," Cao said. "There's no turning back. It took them over 10 years to prepare and finally get to where they are today."

Equitas Small Finance Bank IPO allotment: Here’s how to check share allotment status

New Delhi, Jul 15 () The exports of coir and its products stood at Rs 2,757.9 crore in 2019-20, registering an all-time high record, the government said on Wednesday. The outward shipments of coir and coir products in 2018-19 were Rs 2,728.04 crore. "9,88,996 MT of coir and coir products were exported during the year 2019-20 from the country as against 9,64,046 MT exported during the preceding year," the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises said. While the exports of coir pith, tufted mats, coir Geo-textiles, coir rugs and carpets, coir other sorts, coir rope and power-loom mats registered growth both in terms of quantity and value, products like hand-loom mats, coir yarn, rubberized coir and power-loom matting showed decline in terms of quantity and increase in terms of value. Coir pith with export earnings of Rs 1,349.63 crore constituted 49 per cent of the total export of coir products from the country. Coir fibre with an export of Rs 498.43 crore constituted to 18 per cent of the total exports. The value added items put together constituted 33 per cent of the total exports. Tufted Mats topped among the value added products (20 per cent in value). The export of coir and coir products never showed decrease during the period, which shows there is no chance for the coir entrepreneur to worry about the business. The domestic market for coir and coir products also shows an increasing trend. Exports are made through several ports of India out of which around 99 per cent of the exports of coir and coir products are made through Tuticorin, Cochin and Chennai Ports. <ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="361289" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Dollar-General">Dollar General</keyword> employees quit in protest over understaffing and low pay at a store in Eliot, <keyword id="144960" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Maine">Maine</keyword>.</li><li>"They figured that they had me trapped in a job that I couldn't get out of. To some degree they were right," one worker told Insider.</li><li>The walkout at the Dollar General follows much labor unrest in the state in recent months.</li></ul>Berndt Erikson worked as the nightly closer and key-holder at a Dollar General in the small town of Eliot, Maine. After every shift, he'd count up the money generated by the store and clean up before heading out. But when he closed up shop on May 3, he knew he wouldn't be going back.Erikson and his fellow employees walked out of the store that day, leaving signs on the windows highlighting what they say were unacceptable working conditions at the retailer.He said that understaffing, low wages, and frustration over a lack of communication from the company's district management ultimately led to his decision to move on. In total, two employees and a manager quit the store, leaving one sole staffer remaining."Out of respect for these individuals, as well as the value we place on open and direct communication with our employees, we do not plan to comment on their employment status further," Dollar General told local news station WMTW in a statement. "Our Eliot store remains open to provide the York County community with convenient, affordable access to everyday essentials."The company did not immediately return Insider's request for comment.Erikson had started at the Maine Dollar General in January 2020, after getting laid off from a local Super Shoes store. But very quickly, he said, the Dollar General began hemorrhaging workers. Pay for workers stayed around $13 an hour on average, which Erikson says was not a living wage in that part of Maine."People started to try to find better jobs, or they just had enough of being worked to death and being disrespected by both corporate and customers," he told Insider. "We were already understaffed the entire time I had worked there, but it got to a point where we were not able to keep up."Keeping lean store staffs is a part of Dollar General's business model, and one of the reasons the chain has been able to expand its footprint at such a rapid rate. In 1992, the company operated 1,522 stores in the US. As of February 26, 2021, Dollar General has a fleet of 17,266 stores across 46 states. However, critics say that having so few employees to man the stores creates an unsafe environment, leaving workers as targets for robberies and violence. In Erikson's case, he said that anti-maskers and anti-vax customers often screamed at employees, adding further tension to an already-difficult work environment. Meanwhile, requests by store managers that he receive a raise for his work were often ignored."They figured that they had me trapped in a job that I couldn't get out of. To some degree, they were right," he said.But eventually, Erikson said, he decided that it would be better to seek out work with a different employer. And he's not alone. As the coronavirus pandemic winds down, many business owners have <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/labor-shortage-solution-pay-workers-higher-wages-2021-4">complained</a> about a tightening labor market, with employees <keyword id="39922" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="quitting">quitting</keyword> their <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/80-percent-americans-think-minimum-wage-is-too-low-2021-3">minimum wage</a> jobs to seek higher-paying roles.The day before Erikson quit, the store manager left. He later called the acting district manager numerous times to say that he couldn't man the entire store from opening to closing, but never heard back. Fed up, he and his coworker wrote up the signs - even including a special message to Joe, a beloved regular customer who'd often buy them sodas - and locked up the place at 4 p.m. that day. The store opened back up the next day, with assistance from the acting district manager."The Dollar General walk-out in Eliot is yet another example of service sector realizing the true value of their labor after suffering with low wages, poor treatment and lousy working conditions," Maine's <keyword id="214107" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="AFL-CIO">AFL-CIO</keyword> union communications director Andy O'Brien said in a statement to Insider. "While business owners are constantly whining and complaining about how they can't find enough people to work for them, they still refuse to pay living wages to attract employees and the workers are fighting back."O'Brien added that, in the case of Dollar General, workers say the company expects in-store salaried employees work 70 to 80 hours a week. O'Brien said that a bill in the Maine legislature could make most salaried employees earning up to $55,000 a year eligible for overtime pay, which would "prevent the kind of blatant exploitation of salaried employees that Dollar General continues to get away with."The walkout at the Dollar General in Eliot isn't the only flicker of labor unrest to occur in the state in recent months. According to O'Brien, "the pandemic and the sacrifices frontline workers have had to make" have sparked a recent victory for striking shipyard workers, an ongoing strike by delivery drivers and mechanics, and successful union drives among nurses and museum workers in the state. "When working people win, other workers become inspired and that's why we're seeing more of these kinds of wild cat strikes and walk outs," O'Brien said. "It's an exciting time to be alive."Erikson told Insider that he's well aware that he may be retaliated against, or black-balled from future <keyword id="6354851" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="retail">retail</keyword> jobs. But he said he's glad that his story has resonated with frustrated <keyword id="2375411" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="retail-workers">retail workers</keyword> around the country, based on the reaction on social media. He also said that, in a way, his experience at Dollar General has helped bolster his self-esteem."I eventually got fed up with it and started to see my own self worth," he said. "I actually gained the confidence to fight back, which is probably what led to me leaving in style.
