New Delhi, Jan 25 () The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Saturday launched Ciaz S, the sports variant of its premium mid-sized sedan Ciaz, priced at Rs 10.08 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
 The company also said it has introduced BS-VI compliant Ciaz priced between Rs 8.31 lakh and Rs 11.09 lakh. This will be its 11th offering complying with the stricter emission norm, ahead of its implementation from April 1.
 "With over 2.7 lakh happy customers and record 29 per cent market share in its segment, Ciaz is popular for its impactful exteriors, sophisticated interiors and strong performance. There was a latent need from our sedan loving customers for a Sporty version of Ciaz," Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director (Marketing &amp; Sales) Shashank Srivastava said in a statement.
 Ciaz S fulfils that need and it adds a sporty quotient to the premium mid-sized sedan, appealing to the customers desiring 'the good life', he added.
 Ciaz S comes with signature dual-tone sporty exteriors and intense black accentuations on side and rear under body spoilers, trunk lid spoiler, ORVM cover and front fog lamp garnish, the company said. It also has multi-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels in coordinated dark finish. RKL ABM

Maruti Suzuki launches sports variant of Ciaz sedan

India's leading car manufacturer, <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> is bullish about the new Maruti Ciaz - its latest mid-sized sedan for the country. Maruti had unveiled the concept version of the Ciaz earlier this year at the 2014 <keyword id="73154" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Auto-Expo">Auto Expo</keyword> and as these first undisguised pictures suggest the production version of the Maruti <keyword id="6911" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="suzuki">Suzuki</keyword> Ciaz looks like a promising sedan.
 The company has been struggling to have a successful run with its sedan models above the <keyword id="484565" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Dzire">Maruti DZire</keyword>, while arch rival <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> has hit the sweet spot with Indian car buyers with its sedans like the Hyundai Verna and Hyundai Elantra. But, this time around Maruti Suzuki is taking no chances as the Ciaz appears to have most things working in its favour as of now.

	Recently, a bunch of production ready Maruti Suzuki Ciaz were caught resting their heels in the company's Manesar manufacturing facility in Haryana. The company is working on a war footing to meet the scheduled launch of the Ciaz by second half of September 2014.
 Design wise the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz strikes a good balance between the last generation SX4 and the Kizashi luxury sedan. The four slat chrome grille features a large Suzuki logo, while the headlight design is very distinct in the segment and is expected to feature projector lamps as standard fitment. The multi-layered bootlid design and shape of the taillight makes the Ciaz resemble the new <keyword id="31353" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Honda-city">Honda City</keyword>'s rear end quite a bit.

	The interiors are inspired by the more premium Maruti Kizashi and would feature a two-tone dashboard with integrated entertainment system, steering wheel mounted audio controls, electric OVRMs and AC vents even for rear seat passengers among others.

	Optional features could include 5-inch display for the infotainment system, reverse parking camera, ABS, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control air-conditioning, additional airbags and push button start to name a few.
 Pricing of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz would be on par to the <keyword id="20630" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Honda">Honda</keyword> City and Hyundai Verna and is expected to start from Rs 7.5 lakh onwards

Of late, the second largest car manufacturer in the country <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> has revamped its i10, i20 and Elantra and they look completely brand new. 
 When all car makers are going for a facelift of their popular cars, can <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> be far behind? After giving back to back successes with <keyword id="6379565" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="baleno">Baleno</keyword> and Ciaz, India’s largest car producer went for a facelift of its popular product, <keyword id="6360068" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="swift">Swift</keyword>. Launched decades back, Swift has already experienced a facelift a few years back. 
 The 2017 <keyword id="6911" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="suzuki">Suzuki</keyword> Swift has a radical exterior and a sporty interior, car experts claim. The car is expected to be launched in India late this year or early next year. 
 Look wise, the car stands out from its older generation. However the car is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine as the current car. Built on the same platform of Baleno, the chassis will be a bit lighter and give an edge to the fuel economy that <keyword id="6912" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="maruti">Maruti</keyword> is always known for. 
 
 
As the photos of new Swift started doing round in the internet, car experts and enthusiasts somehow felt the new Swift looks copied from other cars. 
 It’s not the first time that Maruti Suzuki is facing this allegation. The side seems to be inspired from the <keyword id="709856" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mini-Cooper">MINI Cooper</keyword> while the rear will surely confuse people with the Toyota Etios Liva but we can see the design has been influenced from Suzuki's own Baleno hatchback.” “The design of the rear door handles are similar to the <keyword id="55200" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chevrolet">Chevrolet</keyword> Beat. That's a lot of cars in the all new Maruti Swift."

The Ciaz RS variant will be available in both petrol and smart <keyword id="2037407" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="hybrid-diesel">hybrid diesel</keyword> options. While the petrol variant is priced at Rs 9.2 lakh, the smart hybrid diesel option is tagged at Rs 10.28 lakh (prices ex-showroom Delhi), the company said in a statement. Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director, Marketing and Sales <keyword id="1646923" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="RS-Kalsi">RS Kalsi</keyword> said: "Ciaz has emerged as one of our strong brands. It has enabled us to strengthen our position in the mid-size premium sedan segment." 

	The introduction of smart hybrid diesel and safety features such as dual airbags and ABS in base variants has enhanced the reputation of Ciaz, he added. 
 

	Ciaz RS comes with new sporty black interiors and a grey chrome finish instrument panel.

Maruti launches Ciaz RS variant starting at Rs 9.2 lakh

<keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> has recalled 3,796 units of <keyword id="2046037" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ciaz">Ciaz</keyword>, which was launched recently. “MSI will proactively undertake a service campaign to inspect a suspected fault and replace the relevant part of clutch operation system of a batch of 3,796 Ciaz (manual transmission) cars,” the company said in a statement. 
 
The country’s largest carmaker explained that “initiative for the Ciaz is not a recall. It is a service campaign undertaken in the interest of the customers… Service Campaigns are undertaken globally by automobile companies to rectify faults that may potentially cause inconvenience to customers.” 
 
The dealers of Maruti Suzuki, on their part, are contacting the owners of the vehicles concerned. The customers, too, can visit the company’s website to check whether their car requires the “service campaign” or not. 
 
“The inspection and replacement will be done free of cost for the customer,” the company said.

Maruti Suzuki Recalls 3,796 Units Of Ciaz For “Service Campaign”

In what could be called a classic case of poaching, Tata Group’s auto wing, <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> has appointed <keyword id="6365618" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki-India">Maruti Suzuki India</keyword>’s former chief operating officer, Marketing and Sales, <keyword id="162478" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mayank-Pareek">Mayank Pareek</keyword> as President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU). Pareek will take over from Ranjit Yadav, who will now be heading International Business for Passenger &amp; Commercial vehicles vertical of the company. Pareek will officially join from 1st October. 
	 
	Pareek will be responsible for reviving the dwindling sales of the passenger unit of the auto maker, which reported a decline reported in all the segments in August as against last year. “His extensive experience in the passenger car market will play a significant role in harnessing Tata Motors growth potential to help position the company as one of the leading passenger car manufacturers in India,” the company said in a statement. Pareek will also become a part of the Corporate Steering Committee, which was set up by Cyrus Mistry himself to oversee the operations of the company. 
	 
	Prior to joining Tata Motors, Pareek was with Maruti and had put in his papers on 15th September. 2014. His exit from the largest car maker was the second top-level exit from the company following the resignation of Sudam Maitra, COO of Supply Chain unit, who had resigned in May. Reports have suggested that Pareek was one of the senior-most Indian officials in the company. 
	 
	“He comes with over two decades of experience with (MSIL). His last role was as the Chief Operating Officer, wherein he was heading the Marketing &amp; Sales vertical that included Domestic Marketing and Sales, Dealer Development, Product Development, Used Car Business, Outbound Logistics, Spare Parts and Accessories, After Market Services and International Marketing &amp; Sales. He was also member of MSIL Management Committee, and a permanent invitee to the MSIL Board,” the company added in the statement. 
	 Pareek started his career in 1982 with state-run BHEL and worked in the manufacturing function and joined Maruti Udyog in 1991. He is credited for new strategic initiatives like leasing, financing and used car business during his stint in Maruti. His exit from the company came at a time when the auto maker was planning to launch <keyword id="2046037" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ciaz">Ciaz</keyword> Model, which will be positioned as a mid-size sedan, competing with Honda and Ford in that segment.

The facility, which commenced operations in October 2006, is spread over 600 acres and manufactures a range of models, including Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz, Dzire, Wagon R, S-Presso, and Celerio. These vehicles serve both domestic and international markets, with exports reaching regions such as Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and neighboring Asian countries.
