But then, that is the actual state of the coveted C-Suite nowadays – volatile is the right word if you want to sum it up. There is no job security at the top and even the best performer for years can get redundant within the span of a few weeks. The issues could be many – right from <keyword id="646347" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="poor-performance">poor performance</keyword> to <keyword id="610960" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="business-restructuring">business restructuring</keyword> to alleged <keyword id="6375736" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="corruption-charges">corruption charges</keyword>. But the biggest factor is relevance, a perfect future-fit that can take companies ahead, according to <keyword id="67736" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Industry-experts">industry experts</keyword>. In a difficult <keyword id="34412" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="economy">economy</keyword>, companies are compelled to twist and turn to keep track of profitability and their requirements change accordingly. Hence, their leaders have to adapt, shape up or ship out, as the case might be. 
 India is no exception and business leaders across the country have been frequently ‘released’ by industry giants. Many of them leave with ‘immediate effect’ while others are on garden leave or worse still, waiting for their predecessors to turn up (just like Ballmer). Yet, most of the C-Suite executives are tight-lipped about their departures, at least here in India. We are yet to come across an announcement like the one made by <keyword id="384914" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Groupon">Groupon</keyword>’s founder and former CEO <keyword id="488139" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Andrew-Mason">Andrew Mason</keyword>. But exit happens all the same – be it discreet or blatant. Here’s a quick look at some of the top-notch C-Suite executives from India who parted ways with their respective companies in 2013, their official exit lines and what happened behind the scene.

<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/mobile-world-congress-2015"></div></div></div>Mark Zuckerberg sought to make his appearance at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year sit more comfortably with wireless carriers than the last.In 2014, Zuckerberg used his appearance at the trade show to plug Internet.org - Faceobok's not-for-profit initiative to connect "the next billion" to the internet, offering services such as Facebook, search, and weather for free in developing countries. He asked for up to five of the world's biggest carriers to sign up, asking them to offer basic wireless services for free in the hope that once people had tried the internet for the first time, they'd sign up to pay for more data.<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/mark-zuckerberg-dinner-wireless-carriers-barcelona-2014-2">That didn't sit well with some carriers </a>- well aware that Facebook had also just paid $19 billion to acquire Whatsapp, an over-the-top service that has meant the number of SMS messages sent has dramatically dropped - concerned Facebook wanted them to stump up the infrastructure costs (even Zuckberg admitted on 0 and give yet more services away for free.This year, Zuckerberg began his keynote at Mobile World Congress full of praise for carriers and the wider mobile industry: "The folks here part of industry are leading charge to connect everyone in the world and have been for decades. They have a long legacy and history in the sense of mission in industry, that's why all these folks are doing all the work to lay all the fibre, and build all towers to get this done."Later on he insisted that more important than the update on Internet.org's progress to date was the fact that he was inviting launch partners on stage to discuss their experiences with the initiative so far. He was joined by Airtel Africa CEO Christian De Faria, Millicom SVP of operations Mario Zanotti, and GSMA chairman and Telenor CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas.Zanotti, for example, said that since its Internet.org trial started, there has been a 30% increase in customers paying for data, and a 10 fold increase in smartphone sales. Airtel's De Faria concurred, saying the carrier had seen "not seen erosion," despite giving some internet services away for free through Internet.orgZuckerberg did not provide much by way of an update on Internet.org that was not already out there. Internet.org is currently available in six countries: Four in Africa, Colombia, and India.He did offer some personal updates from his travels to those countries: He visited a "cyber village" in Jakarta where children are teaching adults how to use the internet, and how Indian Prime Minister Modi "used the internet as a primary campaigning tool to connect with people."He wasn't here at Mobile World Congress to tal about the new bells and whistles (or "satellites and planes," or "drones and lasers") Facebook is using to help get people connected. "People like talking about that stuff because it's sexy, actually the bigger deal is there are a lot of people who have grown up without the internet," Zuckerberg said.There was barely a mention of Facebook at Zuckerberg's keynote at Mobile World Congress this year (the same as the last.) But the message from the stage was loud and clear: Zuckerberg wants more operators on board and he is determined that it won't affect their businesses, at least not in the long-term. Zuckerberg goes on charm offensive with wireless carriers at Mobile World Congress for Internet.org

Indian telecom major, <keyword id="6354287" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bharti-Airtel">Bharti Airtel</keyword> has announced to sell and lease back telecom towers from Africa’s largest telecom service provider, <keyword id="2641764" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="IHS-Holding-Limited">IHS Holding Limited</keyword>. The companies have entered into a ten-year long contract under which Airtel will sell 1,100 telecom towers located in Zambia and Rwanda. 
	 “The agreements will allow Airtel to focus on its core business and customers, enable it to de-leverage through debt reduction, and will significantly reduce its on-going capital expenditure on passive infrastructure in these African markets,” the company stated in its filing with the National Stock Exchange (<keyword id="6354646" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="NSE">NSE</keyword>). 
	 
	It further added, “For IHS, the acquisition is another major step towards the scale needed to provide shared telecoms infrastructure solutions in Africa. IHS customers, the mobile network operators, will benefit from lower operating costs, expanded network coverage and accelerated network roll out times, higher network capacity and improved quality of service. The consequences for the mobile subscribers will be more stable networks, higher network uptimes in which to make calls and a more ubiquitous service across the country”. 
	 
	The company, through the divestment, aims to increase the cost efficiencies of its operations in the industry. “We are delighted to partner with IHS, which has a proven track record in passive infrastructure management in Africa and look forward to working with them. This agreement will accelerate infrastructure sharing amongst operators and benefit customers in form of affordable tariffs and wider network coverage,” said Christian de Faria, managing director and CEO of Africa, Bharti Airtel. 
	 
	Commenting on the issue, Issam Darwish, executive vice chairman and Group CEO of IHS, noted, “We have been working with Airtel for many years. And we are very pleased to have signed our first Buy and Lease Back transaction with Airtel. The opportunity to expand our East African business bringing IHS’ market leading energy and infrastructure management practices to a wider market is an excellent opportunity.” 
	 
	The proposed deal is subjected to regulatory approvals in both the countries.

Airtel Enters Into Sell & Lease Agreement With IHS In Africa

In order to boost its data revenue, telecom giant <keyword id="6354287" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bharti-Airtel">Bharti Airtel</keyword> today rolled out its first pan-Africa customised 3G smartphone to lure users who love accessing Internet using their handsets. The device has been priced at $53, a PTI report revealed. 
 "As <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword>, we are focused on migrating, existing and new customers from the traditional feature phones to <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="android">android</keyword> smartphones to take advantage of Airtel's 3G networks. We anticipate high uptake levels within the first six months of operations," the news agency quoted Christian de Faria, Airtel Africa CEO, as saying. 
 Looking at the specification, the handset runs on the <keyword id="1853424" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Android-KitKat">Android KitKat</keyword> platform. It has been equipped with a memory of 4GB ROM and 512MB RAM, with a 32GB external memory capacity. The crucial part of any phone is its battery, and this new device from Airtel has a battery life of 1300mAh. This smartphone, which has a qualcomm dual core Central Processing Unit (CPU), has front and rear 3 mega pixel cameras, the PTI report said. 
 
Currently, the handset is available in the markets of Seychelles, Uganda and Burkina Faso. As per the statement issued by the company, this would also be launched in 14 other Airtel Operating Countries over the next few weeks. 
 
Bharti Airtel is driving the new smartphone campaign to boost data adoption across Sub-Saharan Africa. The statement further added that the region is currently witnessing one of the strongest growths in the usage of mobile data across the globe. 
 
With a presence across 17 markets, Airtel, at present, has the widest 3G network in the continent.
