<br />While his family did not disclose the cause of death, they assured fans that he died surrounded by loved ones. A public memorial will be held in Los Angeles in December.<br /><br />What most people don’t know is that Chewbacca is the <a href="https://www.denofgeek.com/us/books/star-wars/272775/star-wars-chewbacca-reading-order-guide">first and only</a> Star Wars character to be killed in the Star Wars universe. It stirred up quite a controversy when <em>Star Wars: The New Jedi Order - Vector Prime </em>was published, despite George Lucas’ approval. The book even made it to the New York Times Hardcover <a href="https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/books/99/10/24/bsp/besthardfiction.html">Bestseller List</a>.<br /><br />The actor’s whose face is unknown to most behind the furry Chewbacca suit was actually 7-feet 2-inches tall. But the same height that helped Mayhew land the role of Han Solo’s best friend, also led to medical issues later in life where he even spent two years in a wheelchair and had both his knees <a href="https://www.today.com/popculture/chewbacca-actor-has-both-knees-replaced-8C11133186">replaced</a> in 2013.<br /><br />Before he became Chewbacca, Mayhew also played the mythological Minotaur in <em>Sindbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977)</em>. <br />In an interview with <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/movie-features/peter-mayhew-lost-interview-chewbacca-star-wars-830668/">Rolling Stone</a>, Mayhew described Chewbacca’s role as a “‘teddy bear”. His final Star Wars film was <em>The Force Awakens </em>in 2015. <br /><br />Even though he couldn’t play the role of Chewbacca in <em>The Last Jedi </em>and <em>Solo:A Star Wars Story</em>, he stayed on as a consultant to cheer on Joonas Sauotamo, the actor who currently plays Chewbacca in the Star Wars series.<br /><br />He was an active participant in a lot of the Star Wars fan events and conventions around the US and even his cane was shaped like a lightsaber. He actually got into some <a href="http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/06/11/star-wars-chewbacca-actor-fights-tsa-over-lightsaber-cane/">trouble</a> for that at the Denver International Airport.<br /><br />Mayhew wasn’t only an actor but a published author as well. The first and only major character to die in Star Wars just passed away in real life

<ul class="summary-list"><li>British actor Dave Prowse, who played <keyword id="386507" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Darth-Vader">Darth Vader</keyword> in the original <keyword id="61596" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Star-Wars">Star Wars</keyword> trilogy, has died aged 85 following a short illness, his management has confirmed.</li><li>Prowse originally recorded Darth Vader's voice but his rural English accent was deemed unsuitable and replaced by James Earl Jones. </li><li>The 6ft 6in actor also represented England in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games in the 60s, according to <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/11/29/dave-prowse-dead-darth-vader-star-wars/">The Telegraph</a>.</li></ul><p>Britsh actor and former weightlifter Dave Prowse, who played Darth Vader in Star Wars, has died aged 85 following a short illness.</p><p>His agent Thomas Bowington <a href="https://twitter.com/BowingtonM/status/1332929745793789952?s=20">tweeted</a>: "It's with great regret and heart-wrenching sadness for us and millions of fans around the world, to announce that our client Dave Prowse MBE has passed away at the age of 85."</p><p>Prowse auditioned for the first Star Wars after director George Lucas saw him play a bodyguard in A Clockwork Orange, <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/11/29/dave-prowse-dead-darth-vader-star-wars/">The Telegraph</a> reported.</p><p>He chose to audition for Darth Vader over Chewbacca "because you always remember the bad guys," he said in a <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/entertainment-arts-24876609">BBC</a> interview. </p><p>Prowse originally recorded Darth Vader's voice but his rural English accent was deemed unsuitable and replaced by James Earl Jones. </p><p>His co-star, the late Carrie Fisher who played Princess Leia said on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2016: "We called him Death Farmer."</p><p>He went on to feature in the original Star Wars trilogy. Prowse's face doesn't appear in any of the films either because as he was replaced for the unmasking scene, according to <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/11/29/dave-prowse-dead-darth-vader-star-wars/">The Telegraph</a>. </p><p>The 6ft 6in actor also represented England in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games in the 60s, <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/11/29/dave-prowse-dead-darth-vader-star-wars/">The Telegraph</a> added.</p><p>During this time, Prowse became friends with his competitors, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno, the <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-55117704">BBC</a> reported. </p><p>He was also the personal trainer who helped the late Christoper Reeve prepare for his role as Superman, the <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-55117704">BBC</a> added. </p><p>Mark Hamill played Darth Vader's son Luke Skywalker in the films said on <a href="https://twitter.com/HamillHimself/status/1332978308976295936?s=20">Twitter</a>: "So sad to hear David Prowse has passed. He was a kind man &amp; much more than Darth Vader.</p><p>"Actor-Husband-Father-Member of the Order of the British Empire-3 time British Weightlifting Champion &amp; Safety Icon the Green Cross Code Man.</p><p>"He loved his fans as much as they loved him. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/RIP?src=hashtag_click">#RIP</a>"</p><p>Prowse's acting career spanned 50 years and included Doctor Who and famous Brtish comedy shows of the 1970s and 80s, The Two Ronnies and The Morecambe &amp; Wise Show.</p><p>In 1963, the actor married Norma E. Scammell who remained his wife until his death and the couple had three children together.</p><p>Brought up in Bristol, Prowse spent his later years living in Croydon, south of London, as "a loving husband, father and grandfather," the <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-55117704">BBC</a> reported.</p>

Star Wars' Darth Vader actor Dave Prowse dies aged 85

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><ul><li><strong>The Hollywood Reporter reported on Monday that Billy Dee Williams is reprising his role as Lando Calrissian in next year's "Star Wars: Episode IX."</strong></li><li><strong>Fans are excited, but many are also worried that he'll die in the movie.</strong></li></ul><p><em><strong>Warning: This post contains spoilers for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi."&#xa0;</strong></em></p><p>Lando Calrissian is returning to the "Star Wars" franchise.&#xa0;</p><p>The original Lando, Billy Dee Williams, is reprising his role as the suave smuggler for next year's "Episode IX," according to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-wars-billy-dee-williams-returning-as-lando-calrissian-xi-1125818" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hollywood Reporter</a>. Williams played Lando in the original trilogy's "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi," while Donald Glover played a young Lando in this year's standalone film "Solo: A Star Wars Story."</p><p>Williams' Lando is one of just a few characters from the original trilogy likely to reprise their roles in "Episode IX" along with Chewbacca, R2-D2, and C-3PO. Harrison Ford's Han Solo and Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker both died in "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi," respectively. General Leia Organa survived "The Last Jedi," but actress Carrie Fisher passed away in December 2016.</p><p>Fans are thrilled that Williams is returning, but given that both Han and Luke have died in the new trilogy, some are worried that Lando will be the one to perish this time around.</p><p><strong>People are obviously excited about Williams returning:</strong></p><p><strong>But there are a lot who are worried one of their favorite characters from the original "Star Wars" trilogy may meet his end in "Episode IX."</strong></p><p>There are no plot details for the movie at this time, so we don't even know the extent of Lando's role in the movie. 'Star Wars' fans are delighted that Billy Dee Williams will return as Lando in 'Episode IX,' but some are worried it means he'll die in the movie

By the time we see Obi-Wan in the new show, he is one of the few Jedi to survive the massacre and is trying to hide from the Sith. </p><p>It had already been announced that "Obi-Wan Kenobi" would bring back many well-known characters from the "Star Wars" universe, such as the infamous villain Darth Vader, who is being played by <a href="https://www.insider.com/star-wars-ewan-mcgregor-hayden-christensen-fans-brought-them-back-2022-5">Hayden Christensen for the first time in 17 years.</a> Vader's relatives Owen, Beru, and the villain's son Luke Skywalker were also teased in the trailer.</p><p>However, "Star Wars" fans were treated to another major character in the first two episodes of the series: A young <keyword id="14046412" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="princess-leia" source="Orion">Princess Leia</keyword> played by child actor Vivien Lyra Blair.</p><h2>Princess Leia is one of the first major "Star Wars" characters introduced in "A New Hope" in 1977</h2><div type="image" title="Princess Leia" height="1200" width="1600" msid="91834237" hostid="261"></div><p>Princess Leia was first introduced in "A New Hope," the first "Star Wars" movie in 1977, and played by the late Carrie Fisher. Leia was a senator who was secretly working with Rebellion to take down the evil Empire led by Vader and Darth Sidious (Ian McDiarmid) in the original trilogy. </p><p>In the first movie, she sets her droids on a mission to contact Obi-Wan (played by Alec Guinness) to help the Rebellion, which set off the chain of events in the trilogy. She eventually works with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and bounty hunters Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) to stop the Empire.</p><p>In the sequel "The Empire Strikes Back," it is revealed that Leia and Luke are twins, and their father is Vader. Vader eventually turns to the good side in the third movie, "Return of the Jedi," and the Empire is defeated.</p><p>"Obi-Wan Kenobi" is set before all of this occurs but <a href="https://www.insider.com/star-wars-star-ewan-mcgregor-found-it-difficult-filming-prequels-2022-5">set after the prequel movies which depict how Vader went from being a Jedi to a Sith Lord.</a></p><p>In "Obi-Wan Kenobi," Leia and Luke are currently being hidden from their father, who believes they died with his wife, Padme (Natalie Portman), in "Revenge of the Sith."</p><p>Leia was fostered by a senator friend of Padme, Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits), which is where we find her halfway through the premiere episode. This is a complete surprise as the character was not mentioned during the press tour or in any trailers for the show.</p><p>Blair plays the young princess as a rebellious but respectful 10-year-old, much like Leia is as an adult. However, in the first episode, she is kidnapped, forcing Obi-Wan to come out of hiding to save her. This means Leia may be part of the story for most of the season, which is great for fans who are already loving the character.</p><h2>Fans are already tweeting about Leia, played by Vivien Lyra Blair</h2><p>While the first season of "The Mandalorian" was praised for its story-telling and beautiful visuals, most fans were talking about the little alien that was brought along the ride, <a href="https://www.insider.com/mandalorian-baby-yoda-concept-art-2019-11">Baby Yoda, also known as Grogu.</a></p><p><a href="https://www.insider.com/best-baby-yoda-tweets-memes-the-mandalorian-2019-11">There were memes</a> and <a href="https://www.insider.com/saturday-night-live-baby-yoda-snl-kyle-mooney-terrifying-makeup-2019-12">"SNL" sketches</a>, and fans seemed to adore the <a href="https://www.insider.com/mandalorian-episode-the-tragedy-tweets-memes-2020-12">father-son dynamic between Grogu and the lead character Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal).</a></p><p>And it seems we may be in store for a similar outpouring of support for young Leia, who Obi-Wan is attempting to save in episode two. The character is already the talk of social media.</p><p><a href="https://twitter.com/MamasGeeky/status/1530029979374759936">Film critic Tessa Smith</a> wrote in reaction to the episode: "Kumail is hilarious (of course) but it's little Leia who STEALS THE SHOW!"</p><p>Another fan tweeted: "Grogu move over (temporarily) because it's Baby Leia's era now."</p><p>Many fans are also praising Blair's acting ability and drawing parallels between her and Carrie Fisher, who passed away in 2016.</p><p><em><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/streaming/how-to-watch-obi-wan-kenobi?r=US&amp;IR=T">"Obi-Wan Kenobi"</a> is streaming now on Disney+.</em></p>

'Obi-Wan Kenobi' premiere episode brings back a major 'Star Wars' character

The talent level of the performers is astounding.</p><h2>I love resort hopping when I need a break from the parks </h2><div type="image" title="kayleigh price at the polynesian resort in disney world" height="2274" width="3024" msid="84423006" hostid="261"></div><p>The more time I spend at <a href="https://www.insider.com/helpful-things-you-should-know-about-disney-parks-per-cast-members">Walt Disney World Resort</a>, the more I realize how much there is to enjoy outside the parks.</p><p>There's so much to see at the Disney resorts. If you have time on your next vacation, I recommend checking out some of their entertainment offerings, dining services, photo spots, and views.</p><p>The best part is that you can check out all the resorts for free even if you're not staying at one. You might just have to pay for parking or transportation there.</p><h2>BaseLine Tap House is the hidden gem of Hollywood Studios</h2><p>BaseLine Tap House is a nice, relaxing bar right next door to Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater at <a href="https://www.insider.com/interesting-things-about-disneys-hollywood-studios-fun-facts">Hollywood Studios</a>.</p><p>It offers a long list of beers and cocktails. I highly recommended the California Sunset, a vodka-based cocktail with Southern Comfort, orange juice, sweet-and-sour flavor, and pomegranate juice.</p><p>The tap house is such a nice place to sit under the twinkly lights with a good drink and ridiculously big soft pretzels.</p><h2>I'm a big fan of Kilimanjaro Safaris</h2><div type="image" title="kayleigh price riding kilimanjaro safari at animal kingdom in disney world" height="3024" width="4032" msid="84423007" hostid="261"></div><p>I can ride Kilimanjaro Safaris in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom over and over again, and it never gets old.</p><p>The attraction takes you through an animal reserve, and every time I ride it, I learn or see something new.</p><p>It's different every time you ride it depending on things like the time of the day, your safari guide, which animals are out, and the weather. </p><h2>Totchos are one of my go-to meals at the parks</h2><p>"Totchos" from Woody's Lunch Box in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios consist of tater tots, chili, shredded cheese, sour cream, and green onions.</p><p>It's one of my favorite meals in all of <keyword id="235630" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Walt-Disney-World" source="Orion">Walt Disney World</keyword>, and no trip ever feels complete without these loaded tater tots.</p><h2>The PeopleMover is one of my favorite classic attractions</h2><div type="image" title="kayleigh price riding the people mover at magic kingdom in disney world" height="2274" width="3024" msid="84423008" hostid="261"></div><p>The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is one of those <a href="https://www.insider.com/cool-facts-about-all-the-disney-world-rides">classic rides</a> that never gets old.</p><p>It's in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, and the ride provides a full tour of the section of the park, including most of the attractions.</p><p>It's a very relaxing ride, and it's the perfect way to catch a nice breeze on a warm day. </p><h2>I always make time to watch the entertainment on Main Street USA </h2><p>There are a number of entertainment offerings up and down Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom, and I've always found them extremely underrated.</p><p>On top of the big parades, there are character meet and greets, the Trolley Show where performers sing and dance on the Main Street trolley, the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet, and the roaming suffragettes who interact with guests. </p><p>I highly recommend sitting on the curb and taking in all the fun performances.</p><h2>I like to take pictures in front of each park icon</h2><div type="image" title="kayleigh price in front of the tree of life at animal kingdom in disney world" height="2274" width="3024" msid="84423013" hostid="261"></div><p>Walt Disney World has so many spots for photos, but every trip, I make sure to take one in front of all the park icons: Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom, the Spaceship Earth ball at <a href="https://www.insider.com/interesting-things-to-know-about-epcot-at-walt-disney-world">Epcot</a>, and the Chinese Theater at Hollywood Studios.</p><h2>Casey's Corner is the best quick-service restaurant at Magic Kingdom</h2><p>I love eating at Casey's, and not just because I worked there during my <a href="https://www.insider.com/i-lost-my-job-at-disney-after-a-few-months-2021-6">Disney College Program</a>. <p>How does sound help Drogon and Toothless come to life?  Sound designers for "<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/game-of-thrones-weapons-behind-the-scenes-swords-tommy-dunne-2018-6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Game of Thrones</a>" and "How to Train Your Dragon" have to get creative in order to invent the sound of a dragon. By layering the sounds of many animals they can create the sound of a whole new creature. Sound designers can also take inspiration from humans and animals. <span>Following is a transcript of the video.</span></p><p><span><strong>Narrator:</strong> </span><span>Most of us know what a dragon sounds like, but they don't actually exist. And none can stop me! So, how does Hollywood know how to make them sound? </span></p><p><span><strong>Daenerys:</strong> Dracarys! </span></p><p><span><strong>Narrator: </strong>Just like visual artists, sound designers take inspiration from the world around them. The sounds for creatures like dragons, dinosaurs, and even Chewbacca are based on real-world animals. A sound designer may use sounds from lions, elephants, cats, and even tortoises to create the sound for just one dragon. They'll layer sounds together to create the sound of a nonexistent creature. </span></p><p><span><strong>Paula Fairfield: </strong>So, my dogs are in the second episode of season five. There's a scene that's very intimate and you hear these like beautiful little nasal whistles. Okay, that was my dog, Angel. She's in a lot of Drogon's stuff and obviously in the wolves. So, I took that sound and put it in there. </span></p><p><span><strong>Narrator: </strong>Paula Fairfield is a sound designer for "Game of Thrones." Over the last five seasons, Paula has carefully crafted the sounds of Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion. She even used the vocal screams of fans to create the sound generated by Viserion's icy breath in the season seven finale. The final sound design of a scene is complex. It masks the individual sound effects so the viewer can't identify the sources. But, we can build our own simplified version of a dragon's sound. Combine some alligator, a little elephant, horse, add a pig and you've got the sound of a dragon. But, these are complex creatures. Dragons do more than just roar and breathe fire. Sound designers also use sound to craft a performance for the dragon. Just like Daenerys, Drogon needs to act and perform. Sound designers take emotional cues from animals to influence the sounds they create. </span></p><p><span><strong>Paula Fairfield: </strong>I was really proud of the fact that you can always hear from the time he was, you know, a toddler to now you can hear the essence of him in his voice. You recognize him as Drogon. And I see them as like your puppy dog. I mean, we have grown up with these puppy dragons in our world, right? And, I think that's why there is so much love for them. I've tried to bring my love of that into the show. </span></p><p><span><strong>Narrator: </strong>Each dragon is unique and sound designers are always trying something new. In "The Hobbit," director Peter Jackson used Benedict Cumberbatch's original performance as Smaug to influence the sound design of the dragon. Many of the pauses, hisses, and vocal affectations came from Cumberbatch. </span></p><p><span><strong>Smaug: </strong>So, tell me, thief, how do you choose to die? </span></p><p><span><strong>Narrator: </strong>These details help make Smaug incredibly impactful and memorable. And, in the "How to Train Your Dragon" series, sound designer Randy Thom used different types of sounds for each species of dragon giving each type of creature their own unique sound. Dragons and other fantastical creatures add a larger-than-life element to stories. The most memorable dragons leave space for the sound to have an emotional effect on the viewer. How dragon sound effects are made

Since we're nearing the holidays, we thought it would be a great time to revisit our "Star Wars Holiday Special" review.</em></p><p>Last year, in anticipation of the release of "The Force Awakens," I went on a mission to bingewatch the six "Star Wars" movies in the saga. Still, there was one item I had never seen - the infamous "Star Wars Holiday Special."</p><p>If you're not familiar, it's a production <a href="http://www.starwars.com/news/the-star-wars-holiday-special-cantina-we-may-not-thrive-friend-but-we-survive-friend" rel="nofollow">so bad that it only aired <strong>once</strong> - November 17, 1978 on CBS</a> - and was never formally released on video.</p><p>Just how terrible could it be? Well that's what I wanted to find out. </p><p>It's not that difficult to find online. There's a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3a5j8PgQxg">version you can stream on YouTube</a>. (The link I shared last year was since taken down. While this is a new one, don't count on it being there forever.)</p><p>Initially, I tried watching it with my brother and mom, two big "Star Wars" fans who initially got me into the series. But after 20 minutes <span>of watching Chewbacca's Wookiee family making indiscernible noises without any actual dialogue, </span>they begged for it to be turned off.</p><p>So I did, and then decided I would watch it alone. Was it a good life decision? I've made better.</p><p>The problem with the "Star Wars Holiday Special" is that it's bloated with unnecessary celebrity cameos. There are an obscene amount of tangential segments which direct the special off course from it's main objective: telling the story of Chewbacca trying to get home to spend a Wookiee holiday with his family.</p><p>It's evident the original cast is only there to help<span> bolster ratings and to keep fans tuned in to see when they'll pop up next. Other than Harrison Ford's Han Solo, they add nothing to this special and could have easily been left out.</span></p><p><strong>It would have been better as a 15-minute short instead of a nearly two-hour special. </strong></p><h2>Here's my live blog of reactions as I watched the entire thing: </h2><p><strong>After one minute:</strong> It starts off all right. We see Han and Chewie in the Millennium Falcon. Chewie's trying to get home to his family for something called a Life Day (more on that in a bit). They're being chased after by Imperial forces and Han clocks into light speed. If the special continues like this - as Chewie's adventure with Han to get home - this could be fun. (Spoiler: It doesn't. This is just about the best it gets. I should have turned around now.)</p><p><strong>3:50:</strong> Apparently, General Motors sponsored this CBS special.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>YouTube</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p><strong>3:52:</strong> We're out of space and are shown a drawing of the outside of Chewbacca's home. I'm guessing they're just waiting around for Chewie's return home since his wife looks longingly at a photograph of him.</p><p><strong>8:54:</strong> We're still chilling with the Wookiees. Little Chewbacca has a <a href="http://www.techinsider.io/star-wars-holochess-dejarik-table-2015-12" rel="nofollow">holochess board</a> and is sitting watching some holograph circus. Could they not afford to have all of the main stars on air long enough?</p><p><strong>12:30:</strong> Chewie's wife does a search of starships in the area. No signs of Chewie. You're not the only one disappointed, Malla.</p><p><strong>12:53:</strong> Finally! It's Mark Hamill (wearing what appears to be a lot of makeup) and R2-D2. Please tell me you've come to make this bearable.</p><p><strong>19:59:</strong> No! He's gone! He just popped in to give some orders to search every home in the system for the rebels (presumably Chewie and Han).</p><p><strong>20:03:</strong> Oh great. We're back at the Wookiee home. He's a trader who stops by Chewie's home to drop off a few items and some gifts.</p><p><strong>29:41:</strong> Itchy gets a memory chip which allows him to see a kaleidoscope array of images. I think I'm staring at some swirl of women dancing. This is supposed to be a family special. Everyone just keeps wishing Chewie and his family a Happy Life Day. It's never explained what exactly this day is so I look it up. It's a holiday celebrated once a year to celebrate all life, living and dead on Kashyyyk. It's kind of similar to the Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead, where they celebrate those who've died. Since the special was around Thanksgiving, people think it's supposed to be a similar holiday.</p><p><strong>39:39:</strong> Oh man. The Stormtroopers just found Chewie's family. Saun Dann is distracting one of the Imperial troops with a music video. Apparently, we're just going to sit through this whole thing.</p><p><strong>47:57:</strong> This is still going on. Why?</p><p><strong>48:10:</strong> Saun Dann starts dancing in the background. Sure, why not? It seems like everyone has forgotten the main point of this special anyway.</p><p><strong>53:00:</strong> A cartoon introducing Boba Fett was cut out of this video. I found it in a separate video <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYuqfy2IkAg" rel="nofollow">here</a>. It shows Han, Leia, and Luke's first encounter with the bounty hunter who is actually quite friendly with Luke and his friends. Han and Luke fall under a sleeping virus and Fett sets out for a cure with Chewbacca. However, we learn Boba is actually playing Luke and his friends and is actually working with Darth Vader. Outnumbered, Fett disappears and the 'toon comes to an end.</p><p><strong>57:07:</strong> In the time Lumpy has watched this cartoon, the Imperial forces have scoured his entire home and decided to viciously tear apart Lumpy's room, breaking a bunch of his toys. Now, after cleaning up, Lumpy is watching a how-to video on assembling a mini-transmitter. This is the "Life Day" gift he got from Dann. I can't believe they're just showing us the entire video. It's incredibly boring.</p><p><strong>1:00:45:</strong> Everyone's being instructed to watch a "mandatory" video about life on Luke Skywalker's home planet of Tatooine for some reason. Honestly, it's like they didn't have enough of a story to fill up two hours of air time so they interspersed it with random clips throughout. We see shots of Stormtroopers walking through the streets and the inside of a cantina.</p><p><strong>1:04:53:</strong> This turns into a side story featuring a man (played by Harvey Korman,"The Carol Burnett Show") and his unbridled love for a cantina bartender played by Bea Arthur. The spot, like so many other things in the special is so random and has nothing to do with the story.</p><p><strong>1:05:36:</strong> So I guess the point of this clip is to tell us there's a curfew being put on Tatooine.</p><p><strong>1:08:41:</strong> Now, Bea Arthur's singing the crowd out of the bar. According to YouTube, I only have about 20 more minutes of this to go.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Lucasfilm/YouTube</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p><strong>1:10:29:</strong> This song is still going on. She's dancing with various characters in the bar. I'm trying to figure out who thought this was a good idea.</p><p><strong>1:14:22:</strong> Finally, something happens! Lumpy uses that transmitter he made to trick all of the Imperial Forces into thinking they need to return to their base. One of the Stormtroopers ends up sticking around and catches onto Lumpy's scheme. Man, I'd really like to know why they named this poor kid Lumpy.</p><p><strong>1:15:35:</strong> The best part of this entire special is Chewie and Han arriving in the nick of time to take out the Stormtrooper. This entire special could have easily occurred in 15 minutes - 30 tops.</p><p><strong>1:18:17:</strong> Han leaves Chewie's family and I'm trying to figure out what could possibly happen in the last ten minutes.</p><p><strong>1:21:07:</strong> The entire family gathers to celebrate Life Day. After all, the very first "Star Wars" movie came out in 1977, and the latest, "Return of the Sith," was a whole decade ago.</p><p>There's good news:<em> </em></p><p><em>You actually don't need to watch any of them</em> <em>before you go see J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."</em> </p><p>The movie does a good job of explaining itself to even the least knowledgable "Star Wars" fan.</p><p>But! If you want to be let in on some of the inside jokes in Abrams' movie - because he does include a fair amount of throwback references for the avid fan's viewing pleasure - there's one movie you really should re-watch above all the others: "Episode IV: A New Hope."</p><p>"A New Hope" was the first "Star Wars" movie George Lucas ever made. It introduces you to everyone you'll need to know about in "The Force Awakens," including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Darth Vader - even Chewbacca, the wookiee.</p><p>There are a lot of similarities between the two movies, too, both in terms of plot and in cinematography. For example, there's a famous bar/cantina scene in "A New Hope" that Abrams recreates in his own vision in "The Force Awakens." <p>"Who wants to ask about Episode 7?" Daniels asked sarcastically at the beginning. The crowd roared. "Well tough!"</p>
<p>Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams are keeping the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/star-wars-origin-stories-movies-2013-9" target="_blank">casting of the seventh installment</a> tightly under wraps.</p>
<p>Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, and Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian are only rumored to return, <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2488496/" target="_blank">according to IMDb</a>. Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca in Episodes III  through VI, <a href="http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/09/23/original-wookiee-peter-mayhew-intends-to-keep-the-role-of-chewbacca-for-episode-vii" target="_blank">told Bleeding Cool</a> in September that despite his recent surgery for complications of his gigantism, "I intend to pursue the role of Chewbacca for Episode VII."</p>
<p>At Comic Con, Daniels riffed on the notorious secrecy. He said he'd gladly give attendees the exclusive <keyword id="233630" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Casting">casting</keyword> news, but he supposed George Lucas had secret cameras hidden in the convention hall.</p>
<p>"They have eyes everywhere," he shuddered.</p>
<p>But 45 minutes later, during the Q&amp;A portion, Daniels slipped.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>AD:</strong> Yeah. I'm the only one who did all six movies.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>AD:</strong> That was sneaky, sneaky, sneaky. There was a "Clones War" movie, I think, I'm not sure about that. I lose track. Yes, I'm the only actor to be in all seven, because either people died or they got-</p>
