It’s not even a week after the Hyperloop, the futuristic transportation system has shown its interest to launch high speed transport in India. The Hyperloop One head was present in India along with the railway minister to talk about the plan.  "We called for six top global companies who have technology that can travel beyond the 350km/hour speed. These trains can travel upto 600kms/hr speed. We called them and we told them that we will develop with you", railway minister <keyword id="6356597" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Suresh-Prabhu">Suresh Prabhu</keyword> told reporters on the sidelines of a conference here. 
 
"Six companies have come forward and the talks are in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/youmay-commute-between-mumbai-pune-in-just-10-minutes-at-price-of-train-ticket-hereshow/articleshow/57360521.cms">advanced stage</a>. If they could <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/youmay-commute-between-mumbai-pune-in-just-10-minutes-at-price-of-train-ticket-hereshow/articleshow/57360521.cms">manufacture such high speed trains</a>, the county would also be able to export it, he said. 
 <keyword id="19179" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="prabhu">Prabhu</keyword> was here to take part in the <keyword id="20154" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="tamil-nadu">Tamil Nadu</keyword> Business Leaders Conference organised by <keyword id="6358345" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="CII">CII</keyword>. 
 
To a query on the timeframe for the launch of such high trains, Prabhu said "it may happen in 10 years. These are new areas which we are working on". 
 
On the launch speed trains, he said "Japanese companies are investing almost Rs one lakh crore into high speed railways." 
 On the investments taken up by his <keyword id="48413" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry">Ministry</keyword>, he said, "including the Rs 8.50 lakh crore proposed to be invested, we are investing an additional amount of Rs 85,000 crore for dedicated freight corridor project. We expect that to be completed in 2019. In the last two years, contracts has been issued, tenders have been finalised", he said. 
 
On developing the railway network in the country, he said, the Ministry has undertaken a vision plan for Railways 2030. 
 
"For the first time we are preparing a strategic plan to invest and decide on how railway network should be developed.", he said. 
 Earlier, Prabhu unveiled a series of initiatives at the <keyword id="28132" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="railway-station">Railway Station</keyword> here including launch of fifth and sixth track line between <keyword id="4251107" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="moore-markcomplex-basin-bridge">Moore MarkComplex-Basin Bridge</keyword> junction, dedication of free wi-fi service at <keyword id="1189417" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chennai-Egmore-station">Chennai Egmore Station</keyword>, double discharge platform at <keyword id="490381" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mambalam-railway-station">Mambalam Railway Station</keyword>, and also an elevated booking office at <keyword id="93450" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kodambakkam">Kodambakkam</keyword> railway station, according to news agency.

After Hyeprloop, the Railway Ministry is planning to bring in 'very high speed' trains

<keyword id="12864" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chennai">Chennai</keyword>, <keyword id="6354814" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="prime-minister-narendra-modi">Prime Minister Narendra Modi</keyword>, who arrived on a visit to <keyword id="20154" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="tamil-nadu">Tamil Nadu</keyword>, inaugurated several development projects in the state here on Sunday. He flagged off the <keyword id="181971" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chennai-Metro-Rail">Chennai Metro Rail</keyword> Phase-1 extension from Washermanpet to Wimco Nagar, built at a cost of ₹3,770 crore. The 9.05-km extension of Chennai Metro will connect North Chennai with the airport and Chennai Central Railway Station. Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the fourth railway line between Chennai Beach and Attipattu. The 22.1-km stretch, constructed at a cost of ₹293.40 crore, that passes through Chennai and Thiruvallur districts. It will ease traffic in and around Chennai port. This section of the railway connects Chennai port and Ennore port. Modi inaugurated the electrification of single-line railway section at Villupuram-Cuddalore-Mayiladuthurai-Thanjavur and Mayiladuthurai-Thiruvarur. The electrification of this 228-km route, completed at a cost of ₹423 crore, will ensure smooth traffic between Chennai Egmore and Kanyakumari without changing the traction. This will save fuel of about ₹14.61 lakh per day. The Prime Minister laid the <keyword id="6541422" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Foundation-stone">foundation stone</keyword> for expansion, renovation and modernisation of the Grand Anicut Canal System here. This canal is very important for irrigation in the delta districts. The canal will be modernised at a cost of ₹2,640 crore, which will increase the water carrying capacity in the canals. Modi also laid the foundation stone of the Discovery Campus of <keyword id="54070" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIT-Madras">IIT-Madras</keyword>. The campus will be built at Thyyur near Chennai. In the first phase, construction of this campus to be built on an area of over 2 lakh square meters will cost ₹1,000 crore. The whole city went under shutdown mode. Factories were mostly shut and there were few factories that opened early, but the workers to leave early. 
 
"More than 90% of IT companies in the city were not working. Even those who worked from home had difficulty as mobile and internet connectivity was poor," Nasscom VP K Purushothaman told TOI. 
 
Banks shut branches midday as the cyclone picked up speed. With mobile connectivity being poor and patchy, consumers found it difficult to pay via e-wallets. 
 The cyclone left the whole transportation in disarray. While 31 long-distance trains were cancelled, suburban services were suspended from 1pm and many more trains were stranded at locations outside <keyword id="12864" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chennai">Chennai</keyword>. 
 Sixteen trains were held up in the Jolarpettai-Chennai Central section and four trains in the Villupuram-Chennai Egmore section. Platforms on <keyword id="400523" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chennai-Beach">Chennai Beach</keyword> and Central stations were badly damaged. Overhead cables snapped on the Chennai-Arakkonam sector, trees fell on the track at Perambur, Egmore and Chetpet, which delayed and later led to the suspension of services.

Train stoppage time at stations has been increased from 20 seconds to 50 seconds to facilitate <keyword id="47725" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="passengers">passengers</keyword> to de-board and board by maintaining social distancing and also to ensure fresh air circulation. Stickers were stuck and markings have been made both in trains and platforms so that passengers could sit on alternate seats to ensure social distancing. Later, as part of relaxations, the government had allowed buses within districts from September 1 and from now on, bus services have been resumed in a full fledged manner. Also, trains within Tamil Nadu including the daily Chennai-Coimbatore Intercity, Chennai Egmore TiruchchirappalliChennai Egmore and Coimbatore- Mayiladuthurai-Coimbatore Janshatabdi Special (except Tuesdays) resumed services. The General Manager, Southern Railway on his twitter handle said: "573 passengers were on board Special Train No. 02636 Madurai - Chennai Egmore special train, the first fully reserved train to leave Madurai as part of #Unlock4 - All the laid down safety protocols were duly adhered - RPF and frontline staff were deployed to guide passengers." Contactless ticket checking was done at the platform and temperature of passengers was monitored through thermal cameras and trains and platforms were sanitised using disinfectants. The Southern Railway, following a request of the state government had on June 27 announced cancellation of special trains (including Tiruchirappalli-Chengelpet-Tiruchirappalli Superfast Intercity Express, and Coimbatore-Mayiladuthurai- Coimbatore Janshatabdi) within Tamil Nadu. The government had requested cancellation of trains in view of an increase in COVID cases. Tamil Nadu resumes Metro, long distance trains and bus services

New Delhi, The Railways introduced 153 services in 2019-20 as compared to 266 services in 2018-19, which included modern semi-high speed trains like Vande Bharat, <keyword id="3691811" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="tejas-express">Tejas Express</keyword> and UDAY (Utkrisht Double-Decker Air-conditioned Yatri) Express trains, Parliament was informed on Friday. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, <keyword id="6356740" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="RAILWAY">Railway</keyword> Minister <keyword id="6355222" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="piyush-goyal">Piyush Goyal</keyword> said: "To facilitate passengers, Indian Railways, during the period 2018-19 and 2019-20, railways introduced new 153 and 266 services respectively." He said that introducing new services is a continual endeavour of the national transporter to upgrade train services and to provide improved facilities to the passengers. "Indian Railways have introduced premium services like <keyword id="7263559" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vande-Bharat-Express">Vande Bharat Express</keyword>, Humsafar, Tejas, Antyodaya, UDAY, to provide better travelling experience to the passengers," he said, adding that state-of-art Vande Bharat Express services have been introduced on <keyword id="3931882" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="new-delhi-varanasi">New Delhi-Varanasi</keyword> and New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra sectors. "These trains have ultra modern features like quick acceleration, on board infotainment and Global Positioning System (GPS) based passenger information system, automatic sliding doors, retractable footsteps and zero discharge vacuum bio toilets etc," he said. Goyal said that a total of four pairs of Tejas Express services have been introduced. "Two of these -- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Karmali Tejas Express and Chennai Egmore-Madurai Jn Tejas Express are being run by Indian Railways, while the other two Tejas trains namely, Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express and Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Tejas Express are operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (<keyword id="65866" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IRCTC">IRCTC</keyword>)," he said. Similarly, two pairs of <keyword id="3691812" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="uday-express">UDAY Express</keyword> have been operationalised -- Bangalore City - Coimbatore UDAY Express and Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada UDAY Express. He said that other premium services like Humsafar, Tejas, Antyodaya, UDAY, Mahamana and coaches like Deen Dayalu and Anubhuti, which have upgraded interiors or exteriors and improved passenger amenities, have been introduced in various train services. He further said that the railways is manufacturing only Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, which are technologically superior and have better riding, aesthetics and safety features than conventional Integral Coach Factory (ICF) type coaches. "Production Units of railways have stopped the manufacturing of ICF type coaches and are manufacturing only LHB coaches from the year 2018-19 onwards," he said. Goyal also said that vistadome coaches provide panoramic view, through wider body side windows as well as through transparent sections in the roof, thus enabling the passengers to enjoy the scenic beauty of the places through which they travel. "Recently, vistadome coaches on LHB platform have been manufactured with several modern features or amenities," he said. He said that under Project Utkrisht, which was launched in April 2018 to improve the condition of ICF type coaches running in Mail or Express trains, railways has upgraded 447 rakes of Mail or Express trains till December 2020. Similarly, under Project Swarn, 65 rakes of Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains have been upgraded across multiple dimensions, which include coach interiors, toilets, onboard cleanliness, staff behaviour, linen, etc. The Minister said that 63 smart coaches with ultra modern features like smart public address and passenger information system, Smart HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system), Smart security and surveillance system etc. have been manufactured and introduced. He said that conversion of end-on-generation (EOG) trains into Head-On-Generation (HOG) trains is om to reduce noise and air pollution at stations and in trains. It is expected to significantly reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, he added. Railways launched 153 new train services in 2019-20, says Railway Minister

It is not surprising to see the growth in expensive homes as the rich increasing in number. According to a Credit Suisse report, there were an estimated 3.42 lakh Dollar-millionaires in India as on mid-2018 who collectively held around $6 trillion. It is forecast that 5.26 lakh Indian dollar millionaires’ wealth will be around $8.8 trillion by 2023. Market fluctuations make very little difference to the personal net worth of these individuals, indicating that they are not beaten by the slowdown like everyone else.
