The shares were sold at Rs 535.90 worth Rs 13.93 crore. Sources have confirmed that Chinese group Alibaba is behind the block deal, thereby selling about 3.1 per cent of its total equity of about 6 per cent. With this block deal, Alibaba, the sources said, seems to be making an exit from India as it had sold shares in other investments such as BigBasket and Zomato. This is expected to bring cheers among investors. With Chinese shareholding reducing their stake, it will benefit the company in their Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) aspect. Paytm shares' intraday low was Rs 528.10. In fact, immediately after the block deal it soon recovered some part of the losses. Paytm's shares had been steadily rising for the past few days after there were several good news floating about the company. Its associate <keyword id="3236791" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="paytm-payments-bank" source="Orion">Paytm Payments Bank</keyword> has received <keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword> approval to appoint <keyword id="5719896" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="surinder-chawla" source="Orion">Surinder Chawla</keyword> as its Managing Director and CEO. The company had posted a strong operating performance update for the October-December quarter. The Paytm Super App continued to see growing consumer engagement with the average Monthly Transacting User for the quarter that ended December 2022 at 85 million, registering a growth of 32 per cent on a yearly basis. The total merchant <keyword id="2185962" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="gross-merchandise-value" source="Orion">Gross Merchandise Value</keyword> processed through the platform for the quarter ended December 2022 aggregated to Rs 3.46 lakh crore (USD 42 billion), marking a year-on-year growth of 38 per cent. The number of loans grew 117 per cent yearly to 3.7 million for the month of December, and 137 per cent to 10.5 million cumulative loans for the three months ended December 2022. As a result, total disbursements for the three months ended December 2022 was Rs 9,958 crore, a growth of 357 per cent on year. Paytm believes it continues to be on track for its profitability plans, with robust revenue growth driven by its strong business model. Meanwhile, brokerage and global investment firm <keyword id="48670" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="morgan-stanley" source="Orion">Morgan Stanley</keyword>, in a report, pegged Paytm's shares target price to be at Rs 695 going ahead as against Rs 579 at Wednesday's close. It essentially means there is an upside potential of about 20 per cent returns on investment for investors. The court's order came on a lawsuit by the veteran actor alleging exploitation of his "publicity rights as a celebrity" by several individuals, including the persons behind a "<keyword id="4693" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="kbc" source="Orion">KBC</keyword> lottery". <keyword id="6354348" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="bachchan" source="Orion">Bachchan</keyword> is the host of the popular TV game show <keyword id="17940" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="kaun-banega-crorepati" source="Orion">Kaun Banega Crorepati</keyword> (KBC). Justice <keyword id="42393" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="navin-chawla" source="Orion">Navin Chawla</keyword> said it is undisputed that Bachchan is a well-known personality and is likely to suffer an irreparable loss and disrepute if relief is not granted at this stage. "I am of the view that the plaintiff has made out a prima facie case for grant of ex parte interim relief," the judge said. The court directed telecom authorities to take action to pull down websites providing content in violation of Bachchan's rights. It also directed telecom service providers to block access to telephone numbers circulating infringing messages. Senior advocate Harish Salve said the relief of injunction was sought not only against the individuals named in the lawsuit but also against "john doe" parties or unknown parties who may be exploiting Bachchan's publicity rights. He said besides the lottery, domain names were registered under the actor's name; there was "Amitabh Bachchan Video Call" and even T-shirts bearing his photographs. Over the years, IPL has become a cricketing tournament that has not just kept audiences glued to their screens, it has also helped brands accelerate their growth by giving them tremendous visibility. One such brand that has associated with the league, and has been able to grow its presence and popularity over the years is Gulf Oil. While it started its IPL journey by associating with King’s XI Punjab, it moved to partnering with Chennai Super Kings in 2011, a relationship it has kept for the last 10 years. The brand also has MS Dhoni as its face. Globally, the brand has associated with motorsports, announced a multi-year partnership with <keyword id="64813" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="McLaren">McLaren</keyword> covering Formula 1 and luxury supercars. It also invested on football by getting into a long-term partnership with <keyword id="6034" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Manchester-United">Manchester United</keyword>. However, in India, when they wanted to increase their market share, cricket became the obvious choice, considering it is much more than a sport here. “We started our IPL journey with KXIP, we did a sponsorship for them for a couple of years and grew our business quite well from 2008. Later, CSK approached us and we joined them in 2010. We chose cricket because the aim was to take a sports platform which is like a religion in India and has a huge mass appeal. Over the years, IPL has not only captivated the youth, it has also become one of the biggest cricket tournaments in the world. It has a following that has only grown year-on-year. Our association with the league has really worked well for us. We have gathered from studies of AC Nielsen that tracked our investments on IPL, CSK and Dhoni that the associations have given us an ROI which we believe has been industry-leading. It has really helped us grow. Around 2007, we were in the sixth or seventh position but since our association, we have now reached the top two position in the lubrication industry,” explained Ravi Chawla, MD &amp; CEO, Gulf Oil Lubricants. The brand has also come up with various campaigns and has used Dhoni effectively. The brand’s current campaign showcased the long-haired Dhoni having a heart-to-heart with today’s Dhoni. The campaign was well-received and was talked about a lot. Speaking about the campaign, Chalwa said, “We recently upgraded our flagship 2-wheeler engine oil, Gulf Pride 4T. While previously the brand promise was about “Insta pick-up”, and it resonated strongly with bikers across the country, we improved the product to be able to now deliver ‘Consistent Insta Pick-up’ over thousands of kilometres and many years. As brand Gulf, we are already no. 2 when it comes to important consumer mind measures (or brand health measures). So this is an association that will continue for us for the next few years too,” added Chawla. IPL is a big investment for most brands. For Gulf Oil, which spends between Rs 80-90 crore on advertising annual, IPL takes away a big chunk, nearly 15-20%. Most of its investments however goes on below-the-line activities. Recently, it also came up with an exclusive edition MS Dhoni tribute pack under its Pride engine oil range for a limited 2 months period which also saw a good uptake from its target audience. However, when it comes to this year's IPL edition, with no spectators allowed at stadiums, is he worried about the ROI? “Last year when IPL happened in September, we knew that it was going to be the soothing balm for the country. Everybody was at home with their families and it provided people with the entertainment that they would look forward to at the end of each day. In terms of numbers, Covid cases are increasing again which is a matter of concern. However, we know that people are eagerly waiting for this season to come too. We have already released our campaign and are hoping to catch a lot of eyeballs this year,” said Chawla.

(Eds: Adds details; Corrects name) New Delhi, Feb 13 () Sanjeev Chawla, an alleged bookie and key accused in one of cricket's biggest match-fixing scandals that involved former South African captain Hansie Cronje, was extradited from the UK on Thursday, Delhi Police said, marking the first high-profile extradition of its kind between the two countries.The 50-year-old British national, accompanied by a Delhi police crime branch team from London, reached Delhi this morning and will now undergo the procedural medical examination, a senior police officer said.After completing the formalities, the crime branch will question Chawla at its RK Puram office, the officer added.Chawla is alleged to have played a central role in conspiring with Cronje to fix a South African tour to India in February-March 2000. The British court documents say Chawla is a Delhi-born businessman who moved to the United Kingdom on a business visa in 1996, but continued to make trips to India.After his Indian passport was revoked in 2000, he obtained a British passport five years later.Chawla's extradition is the first high-profile extradition of its kind under the India-UK Extradition Treaty, signed in 1992.He took his appeal against the extradition right up to the European Court of Human Rights, which rejected his application last week. Chawla lost a last-ditch appeal against former UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid's extradition order in London last month.He had sought to argue against his extradition to India on human rights grounds in the UK courts ever since his arrest in June 2016.Most recently, on January 16, a two-member court panel said they accepted the assurances provided by India that Chawla would be accommodated in a cell to be occupied exclusively by him, with proper "safety and security" and complying with the "personal space and hygiene requirements" the court expects.India has also made guarantees on medical facilities and protection from intra-prisoner violence in Delhi's Tihar Jail, where he is to be held ahead of his trial. We recently caught up with Ajoy Chawla, CEO, Jewellery Division at Titan Company Ltd who told us all that has happened at Tanishq in the last few months, how the brand is preparing for the future. As a brand, Tanishq is giving a massive push to not just its digital presence, but also the way it is conducting its business. The brand had been on a journey to become digital-first and its plans got accelerated due to the Covid-induced lockdown. Using Digital to grow While the lockdown is slowly opening up across the country, the pandemic is far from over and people realize that. Tanishq has done a lot of social listening and is aware that people are skeptical about visiting showrooms. To help them get rid of this fear, while also ensuring their business is not hampered, Tanishq has been devising a 360 degree digital plan to help consumers complete their journeys. With the help of video calls, Whatsapp chats and virtual appointments, Tanishq has launched the ‘Endless Aisle’ concept that gives consumers an access to almost its complete inventory. The video calling and endless aisle facility have already been rolled out in 260 out of its 330 stores. “Our video calling offering has gained so much traction since we launched that we have already served close to 4000-5000 customers. Moreover, we've done around Rs 100 crore of sales through video calling alone in the last 2 months,” shared Chawla. He also said that they have been doing about 10,000 to 12,000 live Whatsapp chats a month. “We have also noticed that our <keyword id="836280" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="online-sales">online sales</keyword> have exploded and gone through the roof. It was a small number but it has grown four times,” he added. He also shared that a lot of these consumers aren’t exactly savvy online buyers but people who are relatively newer to online purchases. In most cases, 90% of the consumer journey is getting completed virtually and consumers just need to go to the showrooms for trial and make the final purchase, thereby reducing risk and ensuring safety for them. Chawla believes that collaboration between online and offline is the way forward for the brand. It is also been doing its bit to make its showrooms safe, and Chawla says that their efforts are being noticed by consumers. “We are making sure that all stakeholders, be it our employees or our consumers are safe. In fact, our safety measures are so good that we have had consumers tell us they feel safer at our showroom than in their own homes,” says Chawla with a laugh. Anticipating a good festive season Usually, the festive months are important for jewellery brands and this year, a lot of hopes rest on the next few months. Chawla says he is hopeful for a good festive season. “If I go by how things are right now, there’s no reason why we won’t see a good festive season. Realistically, we can’t expect it to be 100% as last year but even if it is around 80-90% of last year, that’s good. We are already seeing good recovery,” he said. The brand is aiming for full recovery by Q4. Currently, close to 90% of the brand’s showrooms are already up and running and each of the stores have been seeing good, gradual recovery. On why he thinks consumer sentiments might become positive, he said, “People are a little tired now of this entire experience. They now want to come out and feel good about something. They might not buy as much as they otherwise would have but maybe they will buy lower weights, or smaller pieces, but at the end of the day, they would want to feel good. With the deferred festive season and weddings falling in the second half, we are expecting the second half of the year to be better.” The brand will come up with festive campaigns and also come up with a new collection. Tanishq’s growth and marketing strategy Despite being hit by the lockdown, Chawla shared that the brand opened 9 new stores. “We are not slowing down, we have just taken a pause,” he said. To bring people back to the brand, Tanishq will be working on launching new collections. “New collections, design differentiation and design-led desire creation has been a pillar of growth for Tanishq and will continue to be so,” he added. He further said that the brand will continue launching offers and promotions during the festive season. It has been getting good traction on its Golden Harvest scheme as a part of which the buyer has to pay 10 monthly installments (minimum Rs 2,000), the maturity of which starts after 300 days from the date of enrollment. The buyer is eligible for a 75% discount of one month installment upon the completion of 365 days from the date of joining. The brand has plans to further strengthen this offering and attract more customers. Moreover, as a pilot, the brand is also offering the best gold rates to consumers in certain markets and based on the reception, it will expand this offering to the rest of the country. It will also give a push to its digital initiatives. “We will be heavily present on digital platforms, and on social media. We will focus more on one-to-one conversations with customers. We have close to 10,000 people in our ecosystem. When they reach out and make a video call everyday, that’ll make a huge number. So we will work on scaling this up. That case is centred on the 2006 acquisition of a 74% stake in Indian mobile network operator Aircel, which was owned by C Sivasankaran, by Malaysian telecom firm Maxis, which is owned by T Ananda Krishnan. In 2011, Sivasankaran said he was forced into selling the stake in Aircel by India’s telecom minister, Dayanidhi Maran. It was subsequently found that a firm owned by Maran’s brother received a hefty payment from Maxis for facilitating the deal. The first official trailer of M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, the biopic based on the life of one of India’s most popular cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is out, and looks like the leading actor <keyword id="6356062" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sushant-Singh-Rajput">Sushant Singh Rajput</keyword>, who plays the titular role, has left no stone unturned in bringing the cricketer alive on screen. 
 
The Kai Po Che actor looks, walks, talks and hits sixes just like Dhoni, and the fact that he has completely gotten into the character can be seen in every frame of the trailer. 
 
The trailer starts with a young Mahi, thinking whether he should continue his job as a Ticket Collector at Kharagpur railway station, or do something to hone his cricket skills and live his passion. 
 
The movie shows his transformation from a footballer to a cricketer to one of India’s most successful cricket captains, while also throwing light on his struggle, his family, and a little bit of his love life. 
 
The trailer was released last evening, and has already garnered 20 lakh views in less than one day, once again showing why Dhoni is, well, Dhoni.
