If the talks bear fruit, the file-sharing company, valued at around $4 billion in its most recent financing, could go public this year.
This week, Dropbox unveiled new features targeted at business customers, who could prove to be a lucrative market. Early on, Dropbox became popular with consumers and design professionals who needed to store and transfer large files.
Aaron Levie, the CEO of Box, a file-sharing and collaboration startup more focused on selling to businesses, has said his company might go public in 2014.
One hitch: Dropbox doesn't appear to have a chief financial officer.
Early on, Dropbox CEO Drew Houston also <a href="http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2011/1107/best-companies-11-drew-houston-steve-jobs-ferdowsi-dropbox-barret.html">wore the CFO hat</a>, with help from <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/in/bkayton">Betty Kayton</a>, a finance consultant who has acted as interim CFO for many early-stage startups. 
In September, Dropbox signed on former Demand Media CFO <keyword id="1768173" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Charles-Hilliard">Charles Hilliard</keyword> as an advisor. Hilliard previously <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/pub/charles-hilliard/4/219/437">worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley</a>. It also has several people with investment-banking experience in more junior roles, holding jobs in "<a href="http://www.linkedin.com/in/ajayvashee">strategic finance</a>."
It's not clear from the Quartz report which banks Dropbox is talking to. But Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and other banks have dramatically stepped up their Silicon Valley presence in recent years to capture an expected crop of new tech <keyword id="35156" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="ipos">IPOs</keyword>.
Dropbox is the second-most-watched IPO candidate <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/2013-ipo-candidates-2012-11">on SecondMarket's list of private companies</a>.

In the days leading up to Christmas, he had shared his assassination plans with the bot, asking if "Sarai" still loved him.On December 22, the bot "reassured him that this would be alright," Hilliard said.<h2>Chail wanted to avenge a 1919 massacre in India</h2>The next day, Chail took a train to Windsor, telling his family he was going to enlist in the Royal Marines, and booked a Travelodge room at his destination. "Although not seemingly as severe as other years, 2013 does seem preparing for a Euro summer problem or two."
Later today, the Bank of England and European Central Bank will wrap up their respective meetings and update the world on their local interest rate policies.
"This week’s meeting will be the first with the new Governor, Mark Carney, in the chair," said <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/boe-carnery-meeting-2013-7#comments">Societe Generale's Brian Hilliard of the Bank of England</a>. "He will arrive to a great fanfare but he will first need to familiarise himself with his new colleagues and with the issues before suggesting policy changes, even if he already deems that appropriate. So no action is likely this week."
Here's Donovan on today's ECB meeting: "Draghi has been at pains to point out that there are limits to monetary policy and the economic stimulus it can provide, but attention has perhaps now shifted more to the question of market stability (i.e. Portugal) and the press conference may see OMT questions asked."
In Asia, markets mostly ended higher closed with Australia's S&amp;P/ASX up 1.0% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng up 1.6%. Japan's Nikkei shed 0.2%.
U.S. markets are closed today for the Independence Day holiday.
