Additionally, the Robinhood credit card has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee.The Robinhood Gold Card is made of stainless steel and weighs 17 grams, but there is a solid gold version of the credit card that weighs 36 grams and is worth more than $1,000 of 10 karat gold.Robinhood is giving this solid gold card to the first 5,000 users that refer 10 people to Robinhood's Gold subscription plan. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev is bullish on the card bringing in new customers to the company's stock trading platform."What I predict we'll see is a significant number of customers that join for the credit card and then become investors," Tenev told Axios on Tuesday. While the Robinhood credit card comes with no annual fee, it's only available to Robinhood Gold subscribers, which costs $5 per month. Robinhood Gold offers other benefits to its members besides access to the credit card, including a 3% match on IRA deposits, 5.25% interest on cash, and access to lower margin rates. Robinhood stock has been on a tear so far this year, rising 59%, though the stock is still 76% below its record high of $85 per share.

WhatsApp offers ₹51 cashback as it takes on PhonePe and Google Pay in India

As part of its 'Mera PehlaSmartphone' programme, Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="airtel" source="Orion">Airtel</keyword> has announced a new initiative to enable customers to upgrade to quality smartphones and enjoy a world-class digital experience on its high speed network. Airtel will offer a cashback of ₹6,000 to customers who purchase a new smartphone priced upto ₹12,000 (appx.) from leading brands. Over 150 smartphones are eligible for this benefit. WhatsApp Pay to get several India-first features, including cashbacks, in the next six months

Meta-owned <keyword id="790242" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="whatsapp" source="Orion">WhatsApp</keyword> has confirmed that it is running a cash-back campaign in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> to drive more users on its digital payments service. The company is giving away Rs 11 cashback up to three times by sending money to three different contacts via unified payments interface (<keyword id="6358921" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="upi" source="Orion">UPI</keyword>) on WhatsApp. "We are running a campaign offering cashback incentives in a phased manner to our users as a way to unlock the potential of payments on WhatsApp," a company spokesperson told IANS. "We'll continue to drive awareness of payments on WhatsApp as part of our broader efforts to bring the next 500 million Indians onto the digital payments ecosystem," the spokesperson added. If you become eligible for the promotion, you will see a banner within the app, or a gift icon when you're sending money to an eligible receiver, according to WhatsApp. "Once selected, you can send money to any of your registered WhatsApp contacts and receive Rs 11 cashback per successful transaction," the company informed. Google and Paytm have also offered cask-back to users to drive more engagement and retention growth on their respective platforms. On its support page, WhatsApp said that it will not offer cash-back for QR code payments, payments made on collect requests or made by entering the UPI ID of recipient, as well as payments on third-party online apps using WhatsApp. Earlier this month, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) approved an additional 60 million users for UPI for WhatsApp - taking its cap to 100 million for Payments. "We believe there is an opportunity for UPI to have an even greater impact for the country -- especially in rural regions where digital and financial inclusion can significantly improve peoples' lives," Manesh Mahatme, Director-Payments, WhatsApp India, had told IANS. In November last year, the NPCI approved increasing the user cap for WhatsApp's payment service from the current 20 million to 40 million users. The NPCI has been giving approval to WhatsApp in a phased manner so that the competition in the digital payment space in the country is not stifled. WhatsApp kicked off its ambitious peer-to-peer (P2P) digital payments pilot project in India in 2018 with nearly 10 lakh users. In the test discovered by WABetaInfo, the cashback is limited to UPI payments in India. WhatsApp is offering cashback of up to ₹10 per payment but it may be increased before the official release of the feature. WABetaInfo also <a href="https://wabetainfo.com/whatsapp-beta-for-android-2-21-20-3-whats-new/">says</a> that users can get only one cashback. It isn’t clear though if this means WhatsApp will give you only one cashback throughout or one per payment. There’s also confusion over whether this cashback will be only for new users or existing users as well. The feature has also popped up as a test in the WhatsApp app but not for public beta testers. It’s highlighted on top of the chat list reading “Get cashback on your next payment.” You can tap on it to get started. There’s not enough clarity yet but we could get to know more about the WhatsApp payment feature as the development continues. But it’s quite clear that the cashback feature would be a way for WhatsApp to push its payments service in India. In an overheated economy <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/us-economy-stagflation-disaster-high-prices-inflation-high-unemployment-2022-3">flirting with stagflation</a>, consumers are trying to save money on everyday essentials. One way to do so is by making use of cash-back options. The startup Upside thinks it has found a way to beat competitors and save some consumers hundreds of dollars a month.The app has just raised $165 million at a $1.4 billion valuation and operates in all 50 states.Its partners with 30,000 <keyword id="11955852" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="gas" source="Orion">gas</keyword> stations, 19,000 restaurants and 500 grocery stores as well as Uber and Dunkin' Donuts and its CEO hopes to expand to major retailers like Walmart.<h2>'It's not unheard of for people to save hundreds of dollars a month'</h2><div type="image" title="Alex Kinnier" height="2582" width="3438" msid="91868811" hostid="261"></div>Alex Kinnier, who co-founded Upside and is also CEO, is a former Google engineer who worked under chief economist Hal Varian. He told Insider that the app puts "value" back into the community.Kinnier is focused on achieving "economic efficiency" <a href="https://www.khanacademy.org/economics-finance-domain/microeconomics/consumer-producer-surplus/deadweight-loss-tutorial/a/demand-supply-and-efficiency-cnx#:~:text=Economic%20efficiency%20is%20the%20idea,without%20imposing%20costs%20on%20others.">reminiscent of Economics 101 classes on supply and demand</a> and instilled under Varian. He said the company does this by giving buyers money for goods or services they would have bought anyway, and bringing more custom to the merchants they buy from.He estimates $550 million has been generated through this type of value creation, with 60% being "incremental profit" for merchants and the remainder being additional spending power for consumers.Upside takes a slice of the profits generated by merchants using the app, which is free for consumers.The app offers averages of 10c a gallon cash-back on fuel, 13% on groceries and up to 17% on restaurant bills.Kinnier said the average user in major cities uses the app nine times a month. "It's not unheard of for people to save hundreds of dollars a month using our product," he said, but added that the average was $35 a month. Kinnier said Upside falls into the former category because of the focus on essentials like gas and groceries. The app had 40% growth in users between February and March as people tried to reduce their outgoings, he said. "The categories that we're in, you have to buy. These aren't wants, these are needs," he said. "And consumers are really desperate for control, because inflation is out of their control. We can give them some bit of that." Kinnier said he had seen consumers cutting back on <keyword id="12045285" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="eating-out" source="Orion">eating out</keyword> and spending more on groceries and gas."There are so many merchants that could use our help and so many consumers that could use our help," he said. New Delhi, <keyword id="3430167" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="apple-store-india">Apple Store India</keyword>, the company's online shop on Friday announced a new <keyword id="470101" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cashback">cashback</keyword> and no-cost EMI offer. Starting January 21, consumers can avail a cashback of ₹5,000 on <keyword id="6460129" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="orders">orders</keyword> above ₹44,900 in India as well as a no-cost EMI offer up to six months on <keyword id="6354427" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="apple">Apple</keyword> products. According to Apple's website, the cashback is available for qualifying <keyword id="6357149" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="hdfc-bank">HDFC Bank</keyword> Credit Cards. Apple says that the maximum cashback of ₹5,000 will be applicable on a single order that totals up to ₹44,900 or more. Multiple orders cannot be combined for the cashback. The cashback, once an order is successfully paid, will be credited to the user's HDFC credit card account within a period of 7 days. The offer cannot be clubbed with the Education Program offers and is valid only on a single item purchase once per card. Much like the ₹5,000 cashback offer, the no-cost EMI offer also ends on January 28, 2021. Apple clarifies "Card eligibility subject to terms and conditions between you and your card issuing bank." The No-Cost EMI offer is applicable on HDFC Bank Credit Cards on EMI transactions on a six-month tenure only. The Apple India Online Store went live in September 2020.
