In three days -- from September 18 to September 20 -- the group announced it has turned into nearly zero debt and is implementing long-term fundraising plans that are said to solidify its financial position. <keyword id="20144587" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Infrastructure" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Reliance Infrastructure" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="Reliance Infrastructure">Reliance Infrastructure</keyword>'s board approved <keyword id="20431799" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fund-raising" source="keywords">fund raising</keyword> of up to Rs 6,000 crore via preferential issue and QIP, while <keyword id="20024191" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Power" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Reliance Power" meta.hostid="153" meta.entityid="Reliance Power">Reliance Power</keyword> board is meeting on September 23 to consider and approve the fundraise via multiple routes. The speed at which Anil Ambani moved to clear the debt of his companies, and simultaneously announce and execute the fund raising plans for future expansion of his companies, has surprised the investors. Shares of both firms surged on stock markets. The announcement to invest Rs 1,100 crore by the promoters group in Anil Ambani's flagship company, Reliance Infrastructure, has further boosted the confidence of investors in the group's revival plans and its long-term growth story, investors said. Anil Ambani's twin strategy of <keyword id="21440133" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="debt-reduction" source="keywords">debt reduction</keyword>, coupled with fresh capital raising, has set the stage for a long-term transformation of the Reliance Group, they feel. Reliance Infrastructure's <keyword id="20000950" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="market-capitalisation" source="keywords">market capitalisation</keyword> by the end of this week surged nearly 50%, rising from Rs 8,500 crore to Rs 12,500 crore. Similarly, Reliance Power's market capitalisation increased over 25%, moving from Rs 11,500 crore to Rs 14,600 crore. Reliance Infra announced a significant reduction in standalone external debt, lowering it from Rs 3,831 crore to just Rs 475 crore. This was achieved by clearing outstanding dues to prominent lenders such as Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Edelweiss ARC, ICICI Bank, and Union Bank, according to company filings. The move signals a robust financial recovery and enhances Reliance Infra's financial flexibility. Also, Reliance Infra board approved a preferential issue to raise Rs 3,014 crore, increasing the stake of Risee Infinity Pvt Ltd, a promoter group entity, along with other investors such as Florintree Innovation LLP and Fortune Financial &amp; Equities Services Pvt Ltd. The board also approved seeking shareholder authorization to raise an additional Rs 3,000 crore via a qualified institutional placement. This will provide further capital to strengthen the balance sheet and invest in new growth opportunities. With these fund infusions, Reliance Infra's net worth is set to rise from over Rs 9,000 crore to more than Rs 12,000 crore, according to the filings. The company is now well-positioned to invest in high-growth sectors, investors said.

The stocks of Berkshire Hathaway have seen significant growth this year, appreciating by more than 28 per cent on the New York Stock Exchange. Despite this achievement, the broader U.S. stock markets faced a downturn on Wednesday. Both the S&amp;P 500 and the Nasdaq indices declined, largely due to profit-taking by investors. This market pressure in the U.S. had a ripple effect across Asian markets, where major indices also faced selling pressure on Thursday morning. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei index fell by 0.45 per cent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index declined by 0.55 per cent. Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted Index emerged as the largest loser among the major Asian markets, dropping by 1.32 per cent. In the Indian markets on Wednesday, the Nifty 50 index at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) touched a record new lifetime high of 25,114.05 during the trading. The sectoral stocks of IT contributed the most to the fresh lifetime high ever of Nifty. Rate cut hopes in the US and subsequent buying from foreign portfolio investors supported the market. The sectoral index of IT was trading with a lead of 1.96 per cent with stocks of major <keyword id="20062339" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IT-companies" source="keywords">IT companies</keyword> such as LTIMindtree, Wipro, and Infosys are trading as the biggest gainers in the trade. <keyword id="19925636" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="stock-market" source="keywords">Stock market</keyword> opened nearly flat on Wednesday with Nifty starting above 25,000 and BSE Sensex opening at 81,800. This opens up possibilities for a strong upmove now. Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd, the maker of Officer's Choice whisky, on Thursday fixed a <keyword id="19911460" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="price-band" source="keywords">price band</keyword> of Rs 267 to Rs 281 per share for its Rs 1,500-crore <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">initial public offering</keyword> (IPO). The initial share-sale will open for public during June 25-27 and the bidding for anchor investors will open for a day on June 24, the company announced. Broking firms have pegged the company's <keyword id="20000950" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="market-capitalisation" source="keywords">market capitalisation</keyword> to Rs 7,860 crore post-issue. The initial share-sale comprises fresh issuance of equity shares worth Rs 1,000 crore and an Offer-for-Sale (OFS) of shares to the tune of Rs 500 crore by promoters. As a part of the OFS, Bina Kishore Chhabria, Resham Chhabria Jeetendra Hemdev and Neesha Kishore Chhabria will sell shares. Proceeds from the fresh issue worth Rs 720 crore will be used for the payment of debt. Besides, a portion will be used for general corporate purposes. The total debt on the the company's books was around Rs 808 crore as of December 2023. Half of the issue size has been reserved for qualified institutional investors, 35 per cent for retail investors and the remaining 10 per cent for non-institutional investors. Further, investors can bid for 53 shares and in multiples thereof. With a market share of over 8 per cent in <keyword id="20830317" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Made-Foreign-Liquor" source="keywords">Indian-Made Foreign Liquor</keyword> (IMFL) market by sales volumes in fiscal 2023, Allied Blenders and Distillers is engaged in the manufacturing, marketing and sale of alcoholic beverages in India and abroad. The product portfolio of the firm comprises several brands of IMFL across whisky, brandy, rum and vodka. Some of the major brands of the company include Officer's Choice whisky, Sterling Reserve whisky, Jolly Roger rum and Class 21 vodka. ICICI Securities Ltd, Nuvama Wealth Management Ltd, and ITI Capital Ltd are the book running lead managers to the issue. The equity shares of the company are proposed to be listed on the BSE and NSE. Whisky maker Allied Blenders IPO to open on June 25 as it looks to raise ₹1,500 crore

Chip-maker <keyword id="19912297" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nvidia" source="keywords">Nvidia</keyword>'s market capitalisation rose to $1.83 trillion on Wednesday, nudging past <keyword id="6357623" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="alphabet" source="Orion">Alphabet</keyword>'s $1.82 trillion market cap, a media report said. Santa Clara-based chipmaker's shares rose 2.5 per cent to $739, while Alphabet shares ended the session at $145.94, CNN reported. Earlier this week, Nvidia surpassed Amazon, closing with a higher market cap on Tuesday for the first time since 2002, CNN reported. Nvidia shares have been on a tear since 2023, when investors swept up in AI hype bought up shares of Big Tech stocks, spurring a bull market against a backdrop of sky-high interest rates and leading the S&amp;P 500 index to jump 24 per cent last year. Nvidia has been the biggest beneficiary of the AI mania dominating Wall Street. The stock is up 49 per cent this year after soaring 239 per cent in 2023, CNN reported. Most of the Magnificent Seven, the group of tech stocks that have led the bull market, have continued to race even higher this year with Nvidia leading the pack. But some investors are sceptical that they can match their staggering gains from last year. "The valuation for this company is based on a very rapid growth rate. Anything that could potentially derail that growth rate would have a very negative impact on that valuation," wrote <keyword id="20594737" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dave-sekera" source="keywords">Dave Sekera</keyword>, chief US market strategist at Morningstar, in a note on Monday. "Investors should proceed with caution," CNN reported.
