Technology services major <keyword id="10863" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Capgemini" source="Orion">Capgemini</keyword> on Monday said it has acquired <keyword id="13946781" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chappuis-Halder" source="Orion">Chappuis Halder</keyword> &amp; Cie (Chappuis Halder), a global strategy and management consulting firm, for an undisclosed sum. Headquartered in Luxembourg in Europe, Chappuis Halder is a nearly 150-people consulting firm, with main offices in North America, Europe, and South-East Asia, with reputation for its financial services leading expertise. With Chappuis Halder's specific industry focus, the acquisition will help Capgemini strengthen its capabilities to advise banking, wealth management and insurance clients in North America, Europe and South-East Asia, the company said in a statement. "Chappuis Halder's addition will contribute further to our in-depth expertise of Financial Services, a key condition to be able to advise and help our clients in the industry with their business transformation," said Anirban Bose, CEO of Capgemini's Financial Services Strategic Business Unit. The transaction is expected to be completed within the coming months. The acquisition will also help Capgemini's in-demand specialist consulting services in environment, social and governance (ESG) and climate risk strategy. "We are looking forward to being part of the Capgemini Group and to bringing our capabilities in helping clients in the financial services sector," said Stephane Eyraud, CEO and Founder of Chappuis Halder. Technology services major Capgemini buys Chappuis Halder to boost financial services business

<ul><li>Global technology multinational <keyword id="10863" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="CapGemini">Capgemini</keyword> today partnered with <keyword id="1017386" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Coursera">Coursera</keyword>, an online learning platform to train its employees across verticals. </li><li>These include over 4,000 courses ranging from data science to personal development and business. </li><li>Nearly 25,000 Capgemini employees have signed up on Coursera’s enterprise platform — and they have completed more than 22,000 courses. </li><li>Reskilling employees in the digital space is critical to the IT major as these technologies, including cloud services comprise over 50% of the IT major. </li></ul>Global technology multinational Capgemini today partnered with Coursera, an online learning platform to train its employees across verticals in digital skills and other emerging technologies. Capgemini partners with Coursera to reskill employees in digital technologies — and 25,000 IT employees have already enrolled

The technology major employs 200,000 people across 40 countries, half of whom are in India. </li><li>In an interaction with Business Insider India, Capgemini shared five things they do to make the workplace more inclusive. </li></ul> It’s been a year since the draconian law of Section 377 was abolished, yet, the society is far away from providing its LGBTQIA+ citizens with. Previously, companies would reject the job application of LGBTQIA+ people because of Section 377. Even without legality holding them back, few companies are taking the step to hire them. French multinational Capgemini is an exception. The technology major employs 200,000 people across 40 countries, half of whom are in India. "OUTfront programme has four pillars of delivery: Adoption; Adaption; Absorption; Evangelising. Here are some of the steps we have taken towards strengthening our gender agenda and enhancing LGBT+ people experience at Capgemini offices in India : providing medical insurance coverage for employees in same-sex relationships, month-long paid leave for sex reassignment surgeries, building, all gender washrooms, zero discrimination policy and rolling out a mandatory online learning module for all employee,"said Gayathri Ramamurthy, Diversity &amp; Inclusion Head – India, Capgemini. Not identifying people by sexual orientation The first and foremost step is not identifying their employees in terms of sexual orientation. "At Capgemini, we do not identify candidates and employees basis their sexual orientation. However, from June '19 onwards we started focused efforts to recruit LGBT+ individuals by participating in external LGBT+ hiring job fairs." said the company. Building all-gender washrooms Capgemini added gender-neutral washrooms that would solve the restroom issue for its trans workforce in India. Medical insurance for same-sex partners Same sex couples are deprived of many simple rights including right to adoption, or claiming a simply medical insurance for their partner. This is even after removal of Section 377. Capgemini suggests providing partner medical insurance coverage for employees in same-sex relationships. Paid leave for gender affirmation surgery <keyword id="186309" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="sex-reassignment-surgery">Sex reassignment surgery</keyword> can be rigorous and providing help will help retain trans employees. "We cover gender affirmation surgery in our medical insurance for trans people. So far, one employee at Capgemini has taken the medical insurance and the one-month leave " A platform to discuss LGBT topics Top management plays a very active role in making a place inclusive for all. Capgemini has five lessons to give India Inc on gender inclusivity

To enhance <keyword id="6354716" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nokia">Nokia</keyword>'s business productivity and growth, French IT services giant <keyword id="10863" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="CapGemini">Capgemini</keyword> has secured a multi-million euro contract extension from the telecom equipment maker. The contract has been extended for three years. 
 

	The agreement would see Capgemini continuing to optimise Nokia's order management operations worldwide, a PTI report said. 
	 

	Capgemini started working with Nokia since 2010. The contract, which was due to expire in 2017, has now been extended to October 2020. 

	The French IT services would continue to provide customer order management services, including preparation for delivery, distribution and customer invoicing to Nokia throughout its global network. "We have a strong relationship with Nokia and are proud to be providing them with world class supply chain business process outsourcing services to help drive and enhance Nokia's business productivity and growth," Capgemini CEO BPO and Member of the <keyword id="2882281" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Group-Executive-Committee">Group Executive Committee</keyword> <keyword id="2882059" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Christopher-Stancombe">Christopher Stancombe</keyword> said. 
	 

	With over 1.45 lakh people in over 40 countries, Capgemini reported 2014 global revenues of 10.573 billion euros.

Capgemini inks deal with Nokia

<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=iGate">iGate</a> CEO <keyword id="376348" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ashok-Vemuri">Ashok Vemuri</keyword> has been elevated to <keyword id="10863" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="CapGemini">Capgemini</keyword>'s highest executive decision making body. He is now part of the company’s group management board. 
 
The decision to promote Vemuri comes months after the Paris-based <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=IT+services">IT services</a> giant bought the Fremont, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=California">California</a>-based outsourcing firm for $4 billion, reported the Economic Times. 
 According to two people familiar with the move, Vemuri is part of the board along with other top executives such as chairman and chief executive Paul Hermelin; deputy CEO Salil Parekh; consulting and BPO head Olivier Sevillia; infrastructure services business Patrick Nicolet; group CFO <keyword id="1484699" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Aiman-Ezzat">Aiman Ezzat</keyword> and people management and transformation head <keyword id="1433443" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hubert-Giraud">Hubert Giraud</keyword>. 
 
A <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Capgemini+">Capgemini</a> spokeswoman confirmed the development in an email to the financial daily: "We can confirm that Ashok Vemuri has joined Capgemini’s GMB (Group Management Board)." 
 Other top <keyword id="20356" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="igate">iGate</keyword> executives have also been given new roles such as HR head <keyword id="1828560" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Srinivas-Kandula">Srinivas Kandula</keyword> is now leading the integration with Capgemini from iGate's side, the people mentioned above said. 
 
In April, CapGemini said it would buy iGate, which has most of its operations and employees in India, for $4 billion in cash to create an entity with a combined revenue of about $14 billion to gain access to the world's largest technology market, North America, and some of iGate's customers like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=General+Electric+">General Electric</a> and <keyword id="141194" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Royal-Bank-of-Canada">Royal Bank of Canada</keyword>.

iGate CEO Ashok Vemuri now in Capgemini’s management board

Airtel joins hands with Capgemini to develop India-specific enterprise 5G solutions

French IT major Capgemini wants to hire senior talent team from India for global markets, boost campus placements

<ul><li><keyword id="10863" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="CapGemini">Capgemini</keyword> does not see lateral hiring slowing down even with its recent dip in attrition, according to the company’s India Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Pallavi Tyagi.</li><li>In an exclusive interview with Business Insider, she explains that while attrition is low, the company has aggressive plans to expand in the coming months.</li><li>At the end of September, Capgemini’s bookings were 17.4% higher than last year at around $4.6 billion.</li></ul> Capgemini may be a French company but more than half of their workforce is located in India — and the Paris-based company has no plans of slowing down. Even as attrition levels drop, Capgemini India Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Pallavi Tyagi believes that lateral hiring will continue to increase. “If the business plans and expansion happen as we’re expecting then to happen, then hiring is not going to slow down,” she told Business Insider in an exclusive interview. In the third quarter, ending September 30, Capgemini saw a 17.4% yearly increase in bookings amounting to €3.9 billion (approximately $4.6 billion). The company’s new deals include building digital twins for a network of European factores and upgrading the industrial network that connects Mexico to China. “While it’s good not to have high attrition, at the same time, if there is a need for a certain demand that we need to fill, we’re hiring for those posts,” said Tyagi. <table style="border-width: initial; <ul><li>Technology majors Cognizant and Capgemini are hiring as many as 35,000 campus freshers this year. </li><li>Capgemini said it will hire 15,000 students from Indian universities, who will join the company next year at an average salary of ₹3.8 lakh. </li><li>Cognizant is looking to hire over 20,000 ‘digitally-skilled’ graduates in 2020 — increasing the average compensation for campus freshers to ₹400,000 per annum. </li><li>The two multinationals are also reskilling their employees to grow their digital businesses.</li></ul>After massive structural rejig with layoffs and reskilling initiatives last year, two technology majors with heavy presence in India — Cognizant and Capgemini — are hiring as many as 35,000 campus freshers this year. French multinational Capgemini is planning to hire as many as 15,000 students from Indian universities in 2020-21. These graduates will join the company next year at an average salary of ₹3.8 lakh per annum. However, for those hired from top tier IITs and NITs, salaries can go as high as ₹6.5 lakh. They will also account for nearly 10% of the total hires. “The net headcount in India has continued to grow well with strong hiring year-on-year and our perspectives for 2020 look good too. Globally, we also continue to increase our overall headcount by 5.1% year on year,” Capgemini said last year when it laid off over 500 employees. Meanwhile, Cognizant too is back to sprucing up its employee base. It is looking to hire over 20,000 digitally-skilled graduates in 2020. It also increased the average compensation for campus freshers to ₹4 lakh per annum. This is an 18% surge from last year’s campus salaries. “We continue to be a net hirer of engineering, science, management and other graduates as well as experienced professionals. With more and more students in campuses becoming digitally ready, we have announced a 30% increase in our hiring of engineering and science students for 2020,” the company spokesperson said. Focus remains on <keyword id="4576053" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reskilling-employees">reskilling employees</keyword> These multinationals which have laid off employees last year and are back to hiring - indicates a growing trend to employ those with digital skills. Digital technologies, including cloud services comprise over 50% of Capgemini’s growth. While for Cognizant, the digital revenue has been growing by more than 20% year-on-year. Young engineers could be partly ready to take on digital roles as they learn new age skills for cloud, IoT. Others are also easier to train, helping companies expand their digital employee base. These IT majors are are also actively reskilling their employees. “We have 1,800 certified consultants, while our nearest competitor in India is 500. The focus is on continued skilling. On average, we are reskilling 60,000-plus employees,” Ashwin Yardi, CEO of Capgemini India <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/capgemini-india-to-hire-over-12000-freshers-this-year/articleshow/74128213.cms">told</a> the Times of India. The firm's definition of a millionaire describes people with "investable assets" of at least $1 million, "excluding their primary residence, collectibles, consumables, and consumer durables," according to a summary of the report.After troubles in the stock market in 2022, 2023 proved a better year for the wealthy, the consultancy firm wrote. The number of millionaires, as well as their cumulative worth, fell in 2022, it said.In 2023, by contrast, "despite ongoing interest rate uncertainty and rising bond yields, equities surged along with the tech market, fueled by enthusiasm for generative AI and its potential impact on the economy," the report said. Stock-market gains in the fourth quarter of 2023 played an outsize role.Government spending, such as in the CHIPS Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, also led to greater spending in industries such as semiconductors and construction.All that helped raise the collective wealth of millionaires in the US by 7.4% last year, Capgemini said.Even with the increasing number of millionaires, wealth remained concentrated among a small group. Just the top 1% of the high-net-worth people covered in the report held 34% of global wealth, the report found.The US increase in millionaires was the greatest in absolute numbers among the top 25 countries by number of millionaires, Capgemini said.But by percentage, the number of millionaires in the US rose by 7.3% for the year — a rate exceeded by Australia, India, and Italy, though those countries each had millionaire populations only in the hundreds.Capgemini analyzes the size and growth of wealth using its proprietary Lorenz curve methodology, which uses data from sources including the World Bank, IMF, Economist Intelligence Unit, and national governments.
