The petitioner prayed in the PIL that the CBI be directed to investigate the <keyword id="22008077" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cyber-offences" source="keywords">cyber offences</keyword> in connection with the "unfortunate and brutal incident." The court asked the Additional Solicitor General Asok Kumar Chakrabarti, representing the central agency, whether it could find a way to block these types of posts. The final placement drive which concluded on February 24, secured 573 offers for the entire 58th batch. The process was conducted in a hybrid mode, it said. The consulting sector recruited the highest (232 offers), followed by the Finance sector (86 offers), and the two sectors accounted for 55.5 per cent of the total hires, the statement said. Leading consulting firms like Accenture Strategy, Bain &amp; Co, Boston Consulting Group, Kearney and McKinsey &amp; Co, were the top recruiters in the consulting sector. Sales &amp; Marketing (52 offers) and General Management (82 offers) combined accounted for 23.4 per cent of total hires, with companies like Aditya Birla Group, <keyword id="462960" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tata-administrative-services" source="Orion">Tata Administrative Services</keyword>, Vedanta, etc, being amongst the top recruiters in this sector. Top software services and E-commerce brands continued their strong showing accounting for nearly 18.2 per cent of hires. Consulting firms top recruiters in IIM Calcutta final placement

The institute has recorded its highest ever average starting salary at ₹28 lakh this placement season. Of the total of 439 students, nearly 43 graduates secured job offers with an annual compensation of ₹54.5 lakh. In fact, one in four offers that were rolled out this year received the starting salaries at ₹41.8 lakh per annum. On the other hand, more than half (57%) of the offers at MDI came from companies in the consulting sector. General management and sales and marketing roles added up to 30% of the total offers. A Salesforce report shows that adoption of AI by marketing professionals has grown by 44 per cent since 2017.The growth of AI use is projected to rise by 257 per cent in the next two years, the institute said. "Therefore, there is a massive rise in demand for marketing professionals who can use AI and machine learning to amplify marketing yield and transform the customer experience," it said.
