Using their registered mobile number with the bank, Kotak customers can initiate the transaction through the Kotak Net Banking or Mobile Banking platform. The beneficiary need not be a Kotak customer and need not even have an account with any bank. The cash can be withdrawn by the beneficiary from any Kotak ATM in India. To withdraw cash, all that a registered beneficiary would need to do is to enter his/her mobile number, sender and SMS codes and the exact cash amount. This would immediately trigger cash withdrawal from a Kotak Bank ATM. An account holder can also withdraw cash using similar feature. Congress legislator V D Satheeshan moved the motion, saying the Chief Minister's office was "hijacked" by the gold smuggling gang. He said the ministers and the chief minister were trying to "put all the blame in the gold smuggling matter on the shoulders of suspended senior IAS officer and former IT Secretary M Sivashankar". The state government has been facing severe criticism from the opposition Congress and the BJP, who alleged links of the gold smuggling case accused with the Chief Minister's Office. The state government had earlier suspended Sivashankar, for his alleged links with Swapna Suresh, a key accused in the gold smuggling case involving diplomatic baggage addressed to the UAE consulate here. Five children belonged to Ganjam district while the rest were from neighbouring Gajapati district, they said. The task force comprising the district labour officer (DLO), Berhampur, a member of the district child welfare committee (CWC), the district child protection officer (DCPO), member of Childline, Berhampur and the police conducted raids in several hotels and fast-food centres within Baidyanathpur police station limits on Tuesday. "The children were rescued from at least five eateries. "We will verify the age of the children. If their age is found to be below 14 years, we will register case against the owners of the eateries under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act for engaging them as labourers," said Berhampur DLO Babulal Patra. The district task force would conduct raids in different areas of the city in the next few days. The clause which said that Axis Bank would be permitted to appoint an observer on Max life Insurance’s board has also been scrapped as well as another give gave the right to one of the two parties to appoint auditors in Max Life Insurance. Within the revised deal, both parties will have equal rights, according to the report. This investment is Axis Bank’s foray into insurance to bring it at par with its peers — including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and others — who already have a significant holding in their respective insurance companies. The private lender was lauded by analysts for its asset quality in the first quarter of the current financial year with nearly $900 million set aside for provisions and contingencies. Its plans to raise $1.3 billion through share sale are also moving forward. Axis Bank trims its investment in Max Life Insurance from 30% to 18%

Activist-lawyer <keyword id="6368850" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="prashant-bhushan">Prashant Bhushan</keyword> refused to offer an apology to the <keyword id="6354977" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Supreme-Court">Supreme Court</keyword> on Monday for his two tweets against the judiciary saying what he expressed represented his bona fide belief which he continued to hold. An insincere apology would amount to the contempt of my conscience and of an institution, Bhushan said in his supplementary statement filed in the suo motu contempt case against him by the top court. An apology for expression of his beliefs, conditional or unconditional, would be insincere, he said. Bhushan said as an officer of court he believes as a duty to speak up when he believe there is a deviation from its sterling record. "Therefore I expressed myself in good faith, not to malign the Supreme Court or any particular Chief Justice, but to offer constructive criticism so that the court can arrest any drift away from its long-standing role as a guardian of the Constitution and custodian of peoples' rights," he said. He said, "My tweets represented this bona fide belief that I continue to hold. Public expression of these beliefs was I believe, in line with my higher obligations as a citizen and a loyal officer of this court. Therefore, an apology for expression of these beliefs, conditional or unconditional, would be insincere." Bhushan further said that an apology cannot be a mere incantation and any apology has to, as the court has itself put it, be sincerely made. "This is especially so when I have made the statements bona fide and pleaded truths with full details, which have not been dealt with by the Court. If I retract a statement before this court that I otherwise believe to be true or offer an insincere apology that in my eyes would amount to the contempt of my conscience and of an institution that I hold in highest esteem," he said. On August 20, the top court had granted time till August 24 to Bhushan to reconsider his "defiant statement" refusing to apologise and tender "unconditional apology" for contemptuous tweets against the judiciary and rejected his submission that quantum of punishment be decided by another bench. The apex court, on August 14, had held Bhushan guilty of criminal contempt for his two derogatory tweets against the judiciary saying they cannot be said to be a fair criticism of the functioning of the judiciary made in the public interest. He faces simple imprisonment of up to six months or with a fine of up to Rs 2,000 or with both as punishment. Prashant Bhushan refuses to apologise to India's top court — 'An insincere apology would amount to the contempt of my conscience'

"The military option to deal with the transgressions by the Chinese is still on but will be considered only if the talks at the diplomatic and military level fail," said General Bipin Rawat. He however, refused to share what military options India is looking upon. The Chinese <keyword id="6358624" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="peoples-liberation-army">People's Liberation Army</keyword> (PLA) troops are sitting at various disputed and friction points along the <keyword id="49399" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Line-of-Actual-Control">Line of Actual Control</keyword> (LAC). They have refused to disengage since mid-July and have started construction work on those disputed junctions. Apart from that they have been raising unacceptable points before India. To deal with the emerging situation, Defence Minister <keyword id="6355121" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajnath-Singh">Rajnath Singh</keyword> on Saturday held a meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and the top military brass to discuss the situation at the border with China. Talks between India and China remain deadlocked. India has to move around three additional formations to reinforce the border. Singh held the review meeting with Doval, Rawat and the three service chiefs on the prevailing situation at the LAC in Eastern Ladakh where Chinese troops are still camping. "The meeting happened for almost one-and-a-half-hours in South Block," said a source. The de-escalation of troops at the LAC has stopped for now as the disengagement talks between India and China have hit a roadblock. China has refused to move back from its present military position north of the Pangong Tso and Depsang. The PL) has refused to pull back eastwards from the 8-km stretch it has occupied from Finger-4 to Finger-8 by building scores of new fortifications there since early May. The mountain spurs jutting into the lake are referred to as Fingers in military parlance. China has also increased its troop deployment at Lipulekh, the place that became a trigger for strained relations between New Delhi and Kathmandu. Lipulekh is a tri-junction between India, Nepal and China situated atop the Kalapani Valley. China has changed the status quo on the LAC at various places. India has objected to it and is taking up the matter with China at all levels. Both the countries are locked in a more than three-month-long standoff at multiple points, hitherto unprecedented, along the border. During the meeting, it was also discussed that Beijing has started troop and material build-up in depth areas across the 3,488-km LAC. India has found that China has deployed troops, artillery and armour in three sectors of the LAC -- western (Ladakh), middle (Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh) and eastern (Sikkim, Arunachal). The All-India Senior Selection Committee has finally announced the names of the players who would be part of India’s squad for the 2015 World Cup.
 According to a BCCI press release, <keyword id="6354832" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="MS-Dhoni">MS Dhoni</keyword> will lead the 15-member squad in ICC CWC 2015. Other members of the squad are: <keyword id="6354486" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Virat-Kohli">Virat Kohli</keyword> (Vice Captain), Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Stuart Binny, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Md. Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Ishant Sharma. Sadly, senior players like <keyword id="351" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Yuvraj-Singh">Yuvraj Singh</keyword> couldn’t find any place in the team. Earlier in the day, we read reports speculating Yuvraj Singh’s name in the Final 15. This news would be a disheartening for Yuvi’s fans, who were hoping that Yuvi’s recent performance in the Ranji trophy matches—wherein he scored three consecutive centuries—would help him earn a place in the squad. 

	It’s worth noting that Yuvraj Singh was a star performer in the 2011 World Cup and also the man of the series. However, post recovering from cancer, he hasn’t played much of competitive cricket and not even a single ODI in 2014.

Even though neither India nor Pakistan could make it to finals, many a time the fans of both countries made use of the ‘Mauka Mauka’ ads to troll each other. 
 The latest to join the bandwagon is Pakistani cricketer <keyword id="16977" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shahid-Afridi">Shahid Afridi</keyword>, member of the Pakistan cricket team team that went in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. On being asked about his feelings when India lost the semi-finals, the cricketer replied with ‘Mauka Mauka’, in the same tone as the videos. 
 
Quick to clarify his quirky reply after a hearty applause from the audience and the host Umer Sharif, he stated that he got a clip on Whatsapp about two Pakistanis singing the song and mocking random Indians in a middle-eastern country, from where he learned about the campaign.

The forum, which he initiated as a grassroots-level people's movement to end the exploitation of children, especially <keyword id="6377229" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Child-labour">child labour</keyword> and child trafficking, has acted to protect the rights of more than 83,000 children from 144 countries over 35 years. Today BBA has over 80,000 individuals and 750 organisations as members, who advocate and act for the protection of <keyword id="102345" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Child-rights">child rights</keyword>. In an era when frivolity is seen as a better value than compassion, it is not a surprise that in India where even junior Bollywood actors effortlessly hog the limelight, the 60-year-old Satyarthi has almost remained an unknown name till he bagged this year’s Nobel Prize for Peace along with Malala Yousafzai. 
 
Satyarthi gained prominence as a tireless voice for millions of voiceless children who are battered in smoke-filled factories and tiny shanties amid horrendous working conditions in developing countries across the world, when he organised Global March Against Child Labor in 103 countries in 1990s. The march was aimed at freeing millions of children abused worldwide and led to an International Labor Organization (ILO) convention on child labour. He is also credited with establishing Rugmark, now known as Good Weave, a widely known international scheme that tags all carpets made in factories that are child-labour free. 
 
Child labour is possibly as old as flesh trade as a means of exploitation, dating back centuries. For much of human history and across different cultures, children less than 17 years old have been forced to work, which has unfortunately been the only means of sustenance for thousands of impoverished families across the globe. According to ILO, among the key factors driving children to harmful labour is the lack of availability and quality of schooling. In many communities, there are no schools or they are far away; also, schools are often unaffordable or quality of education is so poor that parents wonder if sending children to school is worthwhile. 
 
An increasing number of child labourers is an economic issue too. Child labourers are denied opportunity for education, and development physically, intellectually and psychologically. This translates into losses for the economy compared with the cost benefits that would have resulted had they been educated and skilled with enhanced ability to support industrial, business and economic activities. Children who are denied educational opportunities and remain illiterate also fail to take care of their own well being and that of the family and community they belong to once they grow up. As children as not fit for long hours of work, hazardous labour makes them sick, proving a drag on overall social cost as monetary resources meant to be spent on development activities are then required to be diverted to treating and taking care of the diseased. 
 
Despite India passing legislation that prohibits solicitation or use of labour by children, in 1977, bonded child labour—a system of forced labour under which a child or his/her parent enters into an agreement with a creditor offering the child as a labourer—continues unabated. 
 
Even as the news of Satyarthi becoming the seventh Indian to bag the prestigious Nobel Prize was spreading, media reports highlighted Child Welfare Committee (CWC)’s efforts to help rescue hundreds of child labourers from small-scale jari factories in and around Mumbai. Such stories about operations rescuing children from bonded labour remind us that India, along with the entire developing world, needs to do a lot more to eliminate child labour which continues to be a clear blemish on its socio-economic fabric which is otherwise poised to flourish in the years to come. However, the work done by people like Satyarthi encourages one to hope that the country, and its peers across the globe, will be able to wash the blemish sooner than expected.
