Barcelona returns to the No. 1 spot in the rankings for the first time since 2012.</p><p>This data comes from <a href="http://www.sportingintelligence.com/">Sporting Intelligence</a>'s annual "Global Sports Salaries Survey," which looks at the first-team pay for 349 teams across eight different sports in 18 different leagues around the world. All in all, these teams average a combined $22.2 billion in wages annually.</p><p>Last year, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/highest-paid-sports-teams-2017-11">the Oklahoma City Thunder topped the list</a> with <span>an average annual player salary of $9.3 million during the 2017-18 season. This year, the Thunder clock in at No. 3 in the world rankings but still best all other NBA teams. Of the 25 highest-paid teams in the world, 17 are from the NBA. </span></p><p><span>In other major North American sports leagues, the San Francisco Giants (No. 27 overall) are the highest-paid Major League Baseball team, the Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 85 overall) top NFL teams, and the Los Angeles Kings (No. 82 overall) are the highest-paid NHL team.</span></p><p><span>Additionally, Toronto FC (No. 214 overall) tops the list for MLS teams and the Toronto Argonauts (No. 321 overall) leads all CFL teams. Barcelona tops the 2018 list of the highest-paid sports teams in the world with $13.8 million average annual salary

New Delhi, May 22 () <keyword id="6986952" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="IDFC-First-Bank">IDFC First Bank</keyword> on Friday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 76.36 crore for January-March 2020. The private sector lender had posted a loss of Rs 212 crore during the corresponding January-March quarter a year ago. <br /><br />Sequentially, there was a net loss of Rs 1,631.59 crore in the third quarter ended December 2019. <br /><br />The bank said that in view of accounting for IDFC - CFL (Capital First Ltd) merger from appointed date of October 1, 2018, the figures of the year ended March 31, 2020, are not comparable.  <br /><br />The figures for the previous quarter/year have been regrouped wherever necessary in order to make them comparable, IDFC First Bank said in a regulatory filing. <br /><br />Total income during the fourth quarter of FY20 rose to Rs 4,553 crore as against Rs 3,971 crore during the same period of FY19. <br /><br />For the full year 2019-20, the bank witnessed widening of net loss at Rs  2,843.39 crore as against Rs 1,907.88 crore in the previous fiscal. <br /><br />Income during the year rose to Rs 17,962.72 crore from Rs 13,056.17 crore. <br /><br />On the asset front, the gross non performing assets (NPAs) or bad loans as a percentage of gross loans as on March 31, 2020 increased to 2.60 per cent from 2.43 per cent by year ago same period. <br /><br />However, net NPAs improved to 0.94 per cent as against 1.27 per cent. <br /><br />IDFC First Bank said that the board at its meeting had an enabling resolution for borrowing of funds through issue of debt instruments, on private placement basis, up to an amount not exceeding Rs 5,000 crore. <br /><br />The board of directors has not proposed any dividend for FY 2019-20, the bank said. <br /><br />Citing an RBI circular on dividend, it said banks have been advised that in an environment of heightened uncertainty caused by COVID-19, it is important that banks conserve capital to retain their capacity to support the economy and absorb losses.  <br /><br />This restriction shall be reassessed by the Reserve Bank based on the financial results of bank, it added. <br /><br />The extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic will impact the bank's results will depend on future developments, which are highly uncertain, including, among other things, any new information concerning the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic and any action to contain its spread or mitigate its impact whether government-mandated or elected by the bank. <br /><br /> "The bank's capital and liquidity position is strong and would continue to be the focus area for the bank during this period," it said. <br /><br />The bank said as per RBI March guidelines on regulatory package, it has granted a moratorium of three months on the payment of all installments and / or interest, as applicable, falling due between March 1, 2020 and May 31, 2020 to all eligible borrowers. <br /><br />The bank has created additional provisions amounting to Rs 225 crore during Q4 FY2020 against the potential impact of COVID-19 on standard assets based on all the available information at this point in time.  <br /><br />Provisions for bad loans and contingencies for the quarter under review were of Rs 412.38 crore, lower than Rs 655.31 crore parked aside a year ago. <br /><br />V Vaidyanathan, managing director and CEO, IDFC First Bank, said, "We are happy to inform that deposits for our Bank are coming thick and strong. <br /><br />In Q4 FY20, "we saw strong inflows into our bank as retail deposits increased by Rs 4,658 crore, despite the turmoil in the markets. Once the lockdown lifts, things will only get better for both lending as well as deposits as the economic activity will pick up. After reaching out to Sparrow Analytics, the mobile app publisher, we were informed that it was a ‘server issue’ which was fixed shortly after.<br /><br />Also, the function of providing your mobile number if the one-time password (OTP) will be sent on the email ID seems redundant. Users should have the option of providing one or the other. Necessitating both seems like an unnecessary load on data collection.<br /><br /><strong>The <keyword id="10824384" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="limitations-of-carbonwatch">limitations of CarbonWatch</keyword><br /></strong>While obviously helping a person gauge their carbon footprint and how their activities affect the environment around them, the CarbonWatch mobile app is not the most user-friendly — not in terms of the user interface, but the calculations.<br /><br />For instance, the carbon footprint score does not change even when you adjust the number of family members in a single household. This means the details of water consumption, electricity use, and gas consumption are not averaged out. The overall score is not for an individual, but the entire household.<br /><br />The app also only shows the latest recorded emission score. There is no historical data or a way to keep track of whether your emission score has gone up or down if you’ve changed the input values. Comparative charts and the ability to export data would go a long way in helping people track their progress.<br /><br />    <div type="image" title="carbonwatch (1)" msid="81203730" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;CarbonWatch only displays the most recently recorded carbon emission score&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />For instance, your electricity and water consumption is likely to be higher during the summer than during the winter months — but there is no way for me, as an individual, to track that change and the resulting effect on my carbon footprint within the app. <br /><br />The app also does not let you take screenshots. This means the only way for you to track the changes in your carbon footprint is to note down the score manually or take pictures using secondary devices.<br /><br />Now, about the actual inputs. CarbonWatch asks users for their average units of freshwater billed per month in kilolitres. That means you need to have your utility bill on hand. There are no comparative guidelines on how you may be able to gauge your consumption based on how many buckets of water you use per month.<br /><br />The reason this is important is because not everyone rents an entire house, especially students or bachelors. They usually have a single room or only a part of the house for use. Hence, they may not necessarily have access to the utility bill. And, even if they do have access to it, the entire consumption of water does not rest on their shoulders. <br /><br />The same applies to the consumption of electricity. It would be easier if the app asked users what kind of lights they use (LED, CFL or other ordinary bulbs), how many are in the room or house, and how many hours, on average, they are switched on for. <br /><br />And, while it is useful to ask whether or not a user is segregating their waste, the app doesn’t ask for an estimate of how much waste is being produced in the first place.<br /><br />A score of 6.61 fairly high. And, the only basis of comparison is worldwide averages. In our case, it was much higher than India’s average of 1.81 or even the global average of 4.74 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.<br /><br />    <div type="image" title="carbonwatch" msid="81203744" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Carbon footprint score is only compared to global averages&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />While helpful, it would be better if the consumption could be compared according to the locality you live in. It would help you gauge if others in your area have a similar carbon footprint or not. He moved home to New Oxford, Pennsylvania, and began work at the local Utz potato chip factory.</p><p>But Harris refused to give up on his football goals and decided to go back to school to train while working a part-time job at UPS during the night shift. Soon after, he drove to Buffalo, New York, and paid $80 to work out for the Hampton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.</p><p>Evidently, the tryout went well. Harris recorded three interceptions, four sacks, and 82 tackles in his three years with the franchise - enough for the New Orleans Saints to take notice.</p><p>Sean Payton and company brought Harris down to the Big Easy in February of 2016. One day later, he signed a deal to live out his NFL dreams. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder mostly played on special teams during his time in Louisiana, but after seeing time in just four games, he tore his ACL and was later released from the team.</p><p>The Raiders signed him four days later, but even his career in Oakland was relatively slow at first. He only took four defensive snaps during the entire 2017 season, but he found his stride the following year. He registered 36 tackles and two interceptions in the 16 games he played in.</p><p>And thus far in 2019, he's performed even better. With the upgrade, that number will increase to eight.</li></ul><p>US Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bombers - America's longest-serving bomber aircraft - are expected to get an upgrade that will allow them to drop bombs like never before.</p><p>The service is currently testing a major upgrade for the decades-old bombers, as well as the revolutionary Conventional Rotary Launchers (CFLs). The upgrade will increase the number of munitions a single B-52 bomber can drop at one time, the Air Force <a href="https://www.557weatherwing.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/1759147/conventional-rotary-launcher-upgrade-tested/">revealed</a> in a recent statement.</p><p>CFLs are rotating munition systems located inside the bomb bay that allow the heavy, long-range bombers to carry a larger and more varied payload of conventional smart bombs and other guided munitions.</p><p>"<span>Before these launchers, the B-52 was not capable of carrying smart weapons internally," Air Forces Strategic (AFSTRAT) Armament Systems manager Master Sgt. Adam Levandowski <a href="https://www.barksdale.af.mil/News/Article/1377182/newest-bomber-technology-makes-history/">said</a> when the first CFLs were delivered to the service in November 2017. </span><span>"Now each CRL allows for internal carriage, which adds an additional eight smart bombs per aircraft," he further explained.</span></p><p><span>The addition of the new CFLs increased the B-52's smart weapon carrying capacity by 67 percent.</span></p><p><span>B-52 bombers flew into battle with the new launchers for the first time in December 2017, <a href="https://www.military.com/defensetech/2017/12/14/combat-mission-sets-new-b-52-smart-bomb-record.html">setting a new record</a> for largest number of bombs ever dropped from the airframe, Military.com reported at the time.</span></p><p><span>A long-standing issue with the CFLs has been that power could only be supplied to four munitions at a time. The planned upgrade will provide full power to all internal munitions at once. In the past, aircrews could only power four munitions on one pass, as anything more might risk blowing the circuit breakers mid-flight.</span></p><p><span>"Now, a B-52 going into a war zone has the ability to put 20 munitions on a target area very quickly," Senior Master Sgt. Michael Pierce, 307th Maintenance Squadron aircraft armament superintendent, said, referring to the eight internal weapons and the 12 additional munitions stored under the wings.</span></p><p><span>These figures refer to the AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSMs) used in testing. The bombers can carry potentially larger quantities of other munitions.</span></p><p><span>"The entire effort to modify the CRL moved pretty quickly," Pierce said. Most recently he <a href="http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/johnny-manziel-news-cfl-canadian-football-league-hamilton-tiger-cats-contract-signing/18k629le2tfg91l5byif2xais5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was negotiating terms for a potential contract with the&#xa0;<span>Hamilton Tiger-Cats</span></a> of the CFL. </p><p>Instead, Manziel's XFL dreams were almost immediately shut down.</p><p>As McMahon's press conference continued, he addressed some of the other platitudes that the XFL would abide by, including <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/xfl-new-rules-major-differences-2018-1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a surprisingly strong stance on player character</a>.</p><p><span>"The quality of the human being is very important and just as important is the quality of the player," he said. Johnny Manziel expressed interest in the new XFL and it backfired immediately

Williams reported</a> that 13 teams NFL teams showed up to see Manziel throw, with <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/976875118256418817?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&amp;ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fblog%2Fnflnation%2Fpost%2F_%2Fid%2F272298%2Flive-johnny-manziel-throws-at-san-diego-pro-day&amp;tfw_site=espn">ESPN's Adam Schefter saying</a> it was a "strong" day for Manziel.</p><p>However, the renewed interest in Manziel has also generated new criticism - toward Colin Kaepernick's unemployment. Though <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/colin-kaepernick-workout-video-nfl-job-2018-3">Kaepernick is still working out</a> and preparing for a job in the NFL, there haven't been any signs that NFL teams are considering signing him.</p><p><a href="https://deadspin.com/oh-come-on-1823998279?utm_medium=sharefromsite&amp;utm_source=Deadspin_twitter">Deadspin's Samer Kalaf similarly criticized</a> the NFL for showing interest in Manziel over Kaepernick:</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"Johnny Manziel has been out of the NFL longer than Colin Kaepernick, and yet&#xa0;the ex-Browns flameout&#xa0;can get team scouts to at least sniff him. Renewed interest in Johnny Manziel from around the NFL is reigniting criticism over Colin Kaepernick's continued unemployment

<p><table class="image-container float_right" width="200"><tr><td><div class="image"></div><p class="source">NBC Sports</p></td></tr></table>Now that the <keyword id="209973" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Tim-Tebow">Tim Tebow</keyword> train wreck with the New York Jets is finally over, the Heisman Trophy winner may actually have several options. But unfortunately, none of them sound very appealing.</p>
<p><strong>If Tebow wants to remain a quarterback</strong>...</p>
<p>Chicago Bears — <a href="http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/29/whats-next-for-tebow/">Mike Florio of <em>ProFootballTalk.com</em> spoke with</a> a source that said "watch the Bears." New Bears head coach Marc Trestman has a history with Tebow, having tutored him prior to the <keyword id="103436" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="NFL">NFL</keyword> draft in 2010. And he was impressed enough during those workouts that Trestman held Tebow's draft rights while head coach of the Montreal Alouettes in the <keyword id="1745115" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Canadian-Football">Canadian Football</keyword> League.</p>
<p><strong></strong>Jacksonville Jaguars — Yes, the Jags have been adamant that they are <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/jaguars-gm-rules-out-tebow-trade-2013-1">not interested in bringing Tebow home</a>. But that may have been a smokescreen to avoid being blackmailed into giving up a draft pick. But the one factor that cannot be ignored is that the Jags' owner wants to make a splash and Tebow will sell tickets and merchandise. And while the Jags attendance was better in 2012, it was still just 17th overall.</p>
<p>Philadelphia Eagles — If Chip Kelly is indeed going to use an offense similar to the one he used at Oregon, he could be tempted by Tebow, a good runner that also happens to throw the ball.</p>
<p>San Francisco 49ers — As Peter King of Fox Sports noted on "The Dan Patrick Show," if Tebow is committed to remaining a quarterback, his best bet may be to join a team with an established quarterback and work on his craft for a couple of years as a backup. One strong possibility is the 49ers where they run a version of the Pistol offense and have a coach in Jim Harbaugh that is not afraid to be creative.</p>
<p><strong>If Tebow is willing to change positions</strong>...</p>
<p>New England Patriots — <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/328859314552987648">According to Adam Shefter</a>, several teams showed some interest in trading for Tebow, but only if he was willing to play tight end. Bill Belichick is no stranger to players that are projects or players that are potential distractions. But the Patriots are not going to use Tebow as a quarterback.</p>
<p><strong>If Tebow is willing to change leagues</strong>...</p>
<p>Canadian Football League — Tebow heading north to the pass-happy CFL would seem like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/timtebow-to-the-cfl-2012-12">a disaster waiting to happen</a>. But if a team in Canada wants to create some buzz and sell some tickets, and if Tebow wants to improve his game as a starter, the CFL could be a potential landing spot.</p>

What's Next For Tim Tebow?

<p>These lightbulbs account for more than half of the lightbulbs purchased in the U.S., <a href="http://www.sustainablebusiness.com/index.cfm/go/news.display/id/25410">according to</a> Sustainable Business. The government has already phased out 75- and 100-watt incandescent bulbs.</p>
<p>Retailers will still be selling the rest of their inventory of incandescent bulbs, but new bulbs will not be produced.</p>
<p>George W. Bush signed legislation for the ban in 2007. It's part of an effort to promote <keyword id="6357014" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="energy">energy</keyword> efficiency.</p>
<p>LED and CFL bulbs (the latter being the <keyword id="22500" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="light">light</keyword>bulbs that have a spiral shape) are energy-efficient alternatives to incandescent lightbulbs, but they're known for casting a harsher light than the warm glow of incandescents.</p>
<p>The energy-efficient bulbs, however, save consumers money on their electric bulbs and typically last longer than incandescents.</p>

America's Most Popular Lightbulbs Are Going Off The Market

CHART: NBA Tops All Sports Leagues With Highest Average Salary For Players

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container float_right"><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div>After <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/michael-sam-released-st-louis-rams-2014-8">being cut by the St. Louis Rams</a> and clearing waivers, Michael Sam is now a free agent.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, it is starting to look like he won't find a job in the NFL anytime soon.</p>
<p>After he was released it was assumed by many that Sam would at least sign with a team to be added to their practice squad, possibly even the Rams. Each team can add up to ten players to their practice squads. These players aren't eligible to play in games, but they can potentially sign with the full 53-man roster if someone gets injured.</p>
<p>Despite 320 practice squad spots, Sam has yet to sign with a team, and the number of available spots is quickly running out.</p>
<p>Of the 32 NFL teams, 23 have already signed ten players to their practice squad, including the Rams, and <a href="http://www.profootballrumors.com/2014-nfl-practice-squads/">the other nine clubs have just 14 total spots still available</a>.</p>

<p>One thing working against Sam is his position. With the Rams he played exclusively as a defensive end in a 4-3 defense (four linemen, three linebackers). Half the teams in the NFL use a 3-4 defense and while Sam could potentially play outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense, teams have yet to see him do it.</p>
<p>Another reason Sam is still unemployed is because teams are afraid of his sexuality and the media attention that comes with the potential of becoming the first openly gay player in the NFL.</p>

<p class="embed-spacer">While the NFL likes attention, individual teams still fear the distractions of extra attention, especially if the player is a borderline talent.</p>
<p class="embed-spacer">While Sam played well at times in the preseason, picking up three sacks, he received just an average grade for his performance. Of the 100 defensive ends in the preseason who played in at least 25% of their teams defensive snaps, Sam ranked 43rd <a href="https://www.profootballfocus.com/">according to ProFootballFocus.com</a>.</p>
<p class="embed-spacer">That's only slightly above average but it should be good enough to be one of the 65-80 defensive ends in the NFL playing for teams using a 4-3 defense. And it should definitely be good enough for a spot on some team's practice squad.</p>
<p>One possibility for Sam is the Canadian Football League. According to Ian Rapoport, the Montreal Alouettes own Sam's rights and have reached out but have not heard back.</p>

Michael Sam's NFL Future Doesn't Look Good

<p>I'm big into New Year's resolutions. I think it's because I love fresh starts and clean slates.</p>
<p>This year, I have a few resolutions. First and foremost: <em>If it takes less than 5 minutes, do it now. </em></p>
<p>It's surprising how many things we put off that could get done in 5 minutes. For example: calling to make a doctor's appointment. Or unloading the dishwasher. Or deleting junk email. The list goes on and on.</p>

<li>Sign up for paperless communications with your bank.</li>
<li>Change your light bulbs to CFL bulbs. They last 10 times as long, use 90% less energy, and can save you $40 over the lifetime of the bulb.</li>
<li>Sign up for a 529 account to start saving for your child's college education.</li>
<li>Remove 2 credit cards from your wallet, and put them in a drawer where you'll forget about them.</li>
<li>Create a Pinterest board called "My Retirement" and start pinning photos of what you want your retirement to look like. Refer back to the board when you're feeling down, to remember what you're saving up for.</li>
</ol>

10 Money Tips You Can Act On In 5 Minutes

<p>Part of the reason the figure is so high is that traditional incandescent bulbs (Edison's filament bulb) eat up a lot of power to produce <keyword id="22500" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="light">light</keyword>: 90 percent of the <keyword id="6357014" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="energy">energy</keyword> is wasted as heat. </p>
<p><span>So far the main alternatives to the common bulb have been c</span>ompact fluorescent lights, or CFLs, and light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, which can produce the same amount of light as traditional bulbs while using way less energy. </p>
<p>Soon, a fourth lighting option will be thrown into the mix. It's called the FIPEL, which is short for field-induced polymer electroluminescent technology. </p>
<p>"This is the first new light bulb in about thirty years," says Dr. David Carroll, a professor of physics at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, who developed the new light source.  </p>
<p>To understand how this technology functions, you can think of how a microwave works, Carroll explains.     </p>
<p>Take a potato, for example. When you place your potato in the microwave and press start, the device hits the potato with microwaves that induce what's known as a displacement current, meaning it makes the water molecules in the potato flip back and forth. This heats the potato up. What Carroll and his team have done is develop a special type of plastic that, when hit with an electric current, induces a displacement current in the same way. But in this case, it doesn't give off heat, it gives off light.</p>
<p>The new light source is made of several layers of very thin plastic. Each sheet is about 100,000 times thinner than the width of a human hair. The plastic is inserted between an aluminum electrode and a transparent conducting electrode. When a current is passed through the device, it stimulates the plastic to light up. </p>
<p>Luckily for Carroll, FIPEL has entered the lighting technology ring at a time of unprecedented opportunity. The phaseout of traditional incandescent bulbs began to take effect at the start of the new year under the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act.  </p>
<p>As of Jan. 1, 2013, manufacturers can no longer sell 75-watt incandescents. The 40- and 60-watt incandescents will no longer be available starting Jan. 1, 2014.  </p>

<p>CFLs use about 75 percent less <keyword id="44578" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="electricity">electricity</keyword> than Edison's filament bulb to produce the same amount of light. LEDs use even less. This means to make the same light as a 100-watt incandescent, a compact fluorescent uses 23 watts and an LED uses 20. </p>
<p>The FIPEL is slightly more efficient than a CFL bulb and on par with an LED, but comes with a few advantages over these other types of lights. CFLs and other fluorescent light bulbs contain a very small amount of mercury, which can be toxic if not disposed of properly. FIPELs do not use any caustic chemicals in manufacturing and can easily be recycled because they're made of plastic.</p>
<p>Some LEDs give off a blueish tint, which many people don't like to look at. FIPEL, on the other hand, can be made to have any tint, including the yellowish hue of the sun that our eyes have come to prefer, having evolved on Earth.  </p>
<p>"FIPEL can match the response of your eye more perfectly than any other lamp ever created," Carroll told Business Insider.</p>
<p>Although the new light source doesn't have the shape of a traditional light bulb — it's more a panel — it is moldable, so it can be customized to fit into conventional light sockets and work with many different types of lamp fixtures.   </p>
<p>The FIPEL light has a lifetime of between 25,000 and 50,000 hours, which is comparable to an LED.</p>
<p>Carroll notes one drawback to FIPEL.   </p>
<p>"From a pure physics point of view, the best efficiency that you could ever accomplish with this lamp is still going to be slightly lower than the best efficiency you could ever accomplish with an LED," says Carroll. Right now, LEDs do not perform at their theoretical best. But as both technologies mature, you can expect the LED to come out on top in terms of overall efficiency.  </p>
<p>The FIPEL technology is currently under an exclusive world-wide license by <a href="http://www.ceelite.com/index.asp">CeeLite Technologies</a>. David Sutton, management consultant for CeeLite, said the first units for commercial use will be available by the end of 2013. The new bulb will cost less than LEDs and slightly more than CFLs. </p>
<p>"In five years, instead of saying I've got to get a new bulb, you're going to be saying I've got to get a new FIPEL. I do believe that these are going to be ubiquitous,"  says Carroll.  </p>

<p>Three teams earned double-digit wins in this division last year. At 11-5, the Packers beat the Vikings at home in the Wild Card round while Chicago sat at home, rueing their December 2 home collapse to Seattle. <span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Last year's strongest division looks promising again this year, each team entering training camp with profound strengths countered by areas of uncertainty.</span></p>
<p>The Bears welcome new coach Marc Trestman, formerly the head coach of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes.<strong> </strong>Trestman's biggest challenge will be to tame his quarterback Jay Cutler. For all his ability, the Bears passing attack ranked 29th in yards per game last season. Much of that can be blamed on the revolving door offensive line Cutler operated in front of last season. The addition of Pro Bowl left tackle Jermon Bushrod should shore up the blind side while much attention will be focused on rookie right guard Kyle Long. If the aerial scheme and blocking improves, Chicago could be a serious contender. </p>
<p>For all the awesome efficiency an Aaron Rodgers led offense will operate with, Green Bay will only go as far as their defense takes them. For years the Green Bay defense has thrived with a lead but has worn down in tight games. Health on defense will be Green Bay's biggest concern.</p>
<p>The only team with three first round picks in this year's draft, the Vikings are strong in every area except secondary and under center, which is bad news in a passing league. A quarterback battle of lowest ineptitude is brewing between Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel, and whoever wins will spend much of his time turning around to hand the ball to 2012 MVP and preternatural freak <keyword id="1440411" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Adrian-Peterson">Adrian Peterson</keyword>.</p>
<p>The Lions just paid a quarterback with <a href="http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000216964/article/is-matthew-stafford-being-overpaid-by-detroit-lions">one career victory against a winning</a> team <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/matthew-staffords-new-contract-2013-7">$78 million for six more seasons</a>.</p>

<p>Following consecutive one and done trips to the playoffs, Atlanta knocked off the scorching hot Seattle Seahawks last year before falling to NFC champion San Francisco. The Falcons replaced running back Michael Turner with Steven Jackson and return tight end Tony Gonzalez after he flirted with retirement. Last year's fifth best scoring defense brings in some new faces, with rookie Desmond Trufant expected to start at corner. Will this be the year the Falcons piece it all together in the postseason? The rest of their division, all coming of 7-9 records, look to give them a tougher go.</p>
<p>The Saints defense <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJshw2Axsqc">couldn't stop a nose bleed</a> last year, but they hope a change to the 3-4 defense and the addition of rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro will take some pressure off Drew Brees.</p>
<p><a href="http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/10458/darrelle-revis">Revis Island</a> floated down the East Coast to Tampa this offseason, and along with free agent Dashon Goldson, Tampa's secondary should drastically improve from it's league worst performance last year. </p>
<p>Carolina will look for quarterback Cam Newton to take the leap beyond his sophomore season, which was essentially a repeat of his rookie year with less touchdowns. </p>

<p>Washington's offense was a purist's dream last year, running the ball down opponent's throats without abandon. However, Robert Griffin III paid the price for his scrambling last season, tearing his right knee. The Washington offense returns every key piece. While most of the medical attention will surround RGIII's knee, Washington will also return pass rusher Brian Orakpo, who played his last game in Week 2 after tearing his left pectoral muscle. </p>
<p>While much of the attention in Philadelphia will be about Chip Kelly's ability to transfer his speed game from Oregon to the pros, the biggest challenge will be improving on last year's -24 turnover differential. </p>
<p>New York looks primed for another year of big wins, perplexing loses and late season talk about how no one wants to play them in the Wild Card, if they make it.</p>
<p>Somewhere in Dallas a running game is hiding. The second worst team on the ground last season, the Cowboys must create some holes for DeMarco Murray to improve on last season's 8-8 mark. Jerry Jones began addressing the issue with his selection of center Travis Frederick from Wisconsin in the first round. </p>

<p>The talent depth in this division is unmatched. After falling short in last year's Super Bowl, the 49ers added Anquan Boldin, Glenn Dorsey and 11 draft picks. The 49ers roster is the envy of every team in league.</p>
<p>Except perhaps in Seattle. One year after a stunning 11-5 season, the Seahawks added game breaker Percy Harvin to an already explosive offense and defensive end Cliff Avril arrived from Detroit in free agency. Seattle's home game in Week 2 against the 49ers on NBC Sunday Night <keyword id="64" type="SPORT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Football">Football</keyword> will be an early must-watch.</p>
<p>Perhaps the best under the radar team in the league, St. Louis looks prepared to break through. The Rams went from 2-14 to 7-8-1 last season. Despite their grueling division, the Rams, behind a bevy of young talent, could easily be this year's surprise playoff team.  </p>
<p>The Arizona Cardinals will go as far a quarterback Carson Palmer will take them. Palmer had a solid 2012, throwing for over 4,000 yards with 22 touchdowns. While the Cards won't contend, it will be fun to watch a secondary featuring LSU standouts Patrick Peterson and Tyrann "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r7wHMg5Yjg">Honey Badger</a>" Mathieu. </p>
