On Wednesday, CAS released a statement to confirm that, "The application field by Vinesh Phogat on August 7 has been dismissed." Speaking to ANI, Vidushpat said that the CAS has not cited a reason why has it been dismissed her appeal. They have not cited a reason why has it been dismissed or why did they take so much time...We were both surprised and disappointed that a decision came last evening and her appeal was dismissed. We hope that the detailed order will come in 10-15 days. CAS decision can be appealed against at the Swiss Federal Tribunal within 30 days. The 30-day time will begin after a detailed order comes. London Olympics bronze medal-winning shooter Gagan Narang, who was the chief de mission of the Indian contingent in Paris, called her a champion, posting a photo with Phogat at the Paris airport. Both of them were on the same flight to Delhi. "People are waiting to welcome her at our village. People are exciting to meet Vinesh and encourage her," her brother, Harvinder Phogat said. The feisty wrestler, in her first reaction after her disqualification, on Saturday said that under "different circumstances" she could see herself competing till 2032 because she still has a lot of wrestling left in her, but is now unsure about her future as things "might never be same again". Vinesh had announced her retirement from the sport after her disqualification. In an emotional post on social media, Vinesh shared her childhood dream, the hardships she faced after losing her father and also put on record the contribution made by people in her extraordinary journey that ended in heartbreak in Paris.

"The Badminton World Federation can confirm India's Tokyo 2020 Paralympic champion Pramod <keyword id="20315592" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bhagat" source="keywords">Bhagat</keyword> has been suspended for a period of 18 months and will miss the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games," the governing body said in a statement on Tuesday. "In 1 March 2024, the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) Anti-Doping Division found Bhagat in breach of the BWF anti-doping regulations for committing three whereabouts failures within 12 months." The 36-year-old, an SL3 athlete, had appealed this decision to the CAS Appeals Division but it was rejected last month. "On 29 July 2024, the CAS Appeals Division dismissed the Bhagat's appeal and confirmed the CAS Anti-Doping Division decision of 1 March 2024. His period of ineligibility is now in effect," the statement added. His suspension is effective till September 1, 2025. Bhagat had won a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics in men's singles SL3 category, beating Daniel Bethell of Great Britain in the final. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Sha'Carri Richardson accused authorities of double standards over the handling of Kamila Valieva.</li><li>The sprinter said her positive drugs test last year was treated differently because she is Black.</li></ul>The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has dismissed claims from American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson that she was treated differently to Russian skater Kamila Valieva because she is Black after both tested positive for banned substances.Richardson missed last year's Tokyo Olympics after receiving a 30-day ban for consuming cannabis. She said she had <a href="https://www.insider.com/shacarri-richardson-kamila-valieva-Olympics-race-doping-2022-2">taken the drug to relieve the pain she felt over the recent death of her mother.</a>Meanwhile, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced Monday that Valieva, a skater for the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), would be able to continue competing at the Beijing <keyword id="12090559" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="winter-olympics" source="Orion">Winter Olympics</keyword> despite it being revealed that she had tested positive for a banned substance in December.The 15-year-old tested positive for the banned drug trimetazidine — a medicine used to treat angina attacks that can also improve endurance in athletes. Valieva's lawyers said the positive test was <a href="https://www.insider.com/kamila-valieva-failed-doping-test-mix-up-grandfather-medicine-2022-2">the result of a mix-up with her grandfather's medicine.</a>"Can we get a solid answer on the difference of her situation and mines?" tweeted Richardson after CAS announced its decision to allow Valieva to continue competing."My mother died and I can't run and was also favored to place top 3. The only difference I see is I'm a black young lady."IOC spokesman Mark Adams has since refuted Richardson's claim."Every single case is very different," Adams said at the IOC's daily press conference Wednesday, <a href="https://www.skysports.com/more-sports/winter-olympics/news/29876/12543224/kamila-valieva-asterisk-to-be-applied-to-womens-figure-skating-result-at-winter-olympics-because-it-would-be-preliminary">according to Sky Sports.</a> "[Richardson] tested positive on June 19 [2021], quite a way ahead of the Tokyo Games."Her results came in early order for USADA to deal with the case on time, before the games. Ms. Richardson accepted a one month period of ineligibility which began on June 28."I would suggest that there isn't a great deal of similarity between the two cases."Adams added the ruling by CAS was solely on her Valieva's continued participation in Beijing and that she could still be banned from competition over the failed test in the coming weeks."There will be an asterisk about the results on Friday because they will be preliminary," said Adams. "This case has not yet concluded and the CAS have made that very clear. And France is a nation divided. Not just by race, but by class and by generation. Some, like the Gilet Jaune, feel they have nothing mush to lose.A dozen cars were set on fire, buildings were torched, tear gas was fired and water cannons were deployed in the French capital on Saturday.The situation escalated quickly with some of the 1,500 protesters ripping cobblestones off the paved road to throw at police officers.
