The <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> and the <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> recovered from their early morning lows on Wednesday as a bout of short covering in the futures and options market pulled the main indices somewhat higher. Banking, Infrastructure, Realty and Power stocks' futures were in demand in the derivatives space which is in the last week of the monthly expiry of contracts that happens on the last Thursday of each month. Here is a snapshot of the top action in the futures and options market:

IDBI and UCO Bank are among the top price gainerss today!

New Delhi, Mar 25 () Bosch on Wednesday said the suspension of operations at its plants will continue beyond March 31 till further notice. Its plants are situated at Bengaluru, Naganathapura and Bidadi in Karnataka; Nashik in Maharashtra; Jaipur in Rajasthan; and Gangaikondan in Tamil Nadu. The company in a BSE filing said that earlier, it had decided to suspend operations in these plants till March 31 to contain the spread of coronavirus. In the filing, JSW Steel also said the company has taken the decision to scale down or suspend production to support the cause of containment of the COVID-19 pandemic, notwithstanding the exception to manufacturing units with continuous operation and the units producing essential commodities. Bosch says suspension of its operations to continue beyond March 31

The <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> showed a mild shade of green in early deals on Tuesday as traders covered some short positions after 3 days of relentless selling that pushed the market to fresh 14-month lows. 
 The Nifty rose 26 points, or 0.4 percent, to 7,585 points in early deals, recovering from an intra-day low of 7,540 points. Yes Bank, <keyword id="6357147" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Steel">Tata Steel</keyword>, GAIL, PNB and Tata Motors were the top 5 gainers on the Nifty while Cairn, Cipla, Lupin, Vedanta and Bosch continued to remain under selling pressure. The Advance-Decline Ratio on the Index was 30:20. Axis Banks, State Bank of India and ICICI Bank were the three top traded stocks on the National Stock Exchange and all of them quoted in positive territory. 
 The <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> added 70 points to 24,963 at the start of trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The proceedings were dominated by lenders. Axis Bank, Hindalco, NTPC and Hero Motors were among the top 10 gainers while Cipla, Hindustan Unilever, Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> and Dr. Reddy's remained in the red. As a consequence, the Advance-Decline Ratio was 16/14 on the Sensex. 
 
Axis Bank, Larsen and SBI were the top traded stocks on the BSE. 
 
The broader market showed traction in early deals. Smart gains were seen on sectors such as CNX Realty, CNX Metals, BSE Power and BSE PSU Indices. But the Advance-Decline Ratio favoured the bears with just 625 stocks rising compared with 973 that lost ground on the BSE. 
 The Derivatives space showed some positive action even though bears were seen resuming control on the F&amp;O market. Shriram Transport, Hexaware, JSW Energy were top gaining futures, while Amtek Auto, Amara Raja Batteries and Strides Arcolab futures dipped in trade. The Advance-Decline Ratio was 71/85 in this part of the market. However, banks showed a strong start on Tuesday with all 22 banking futures exhibiting smart gains in initial trades. Those beaten down the most came back the strongest. Therefore, Punjab National Bank, Yes Bank, Canara Bank and Bank of India were the top gaining futures in the banking space. As a consequence, the <keyword id="151330" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bank-Nifty">Bank Nifty</keyword> gained 157 points, or 1 percent, to 15,939 points. Modest gains were also seen on its peers, the CNX Finance and the CNX PSU Bank Indices. 
 
Stocks making it to the top volumes buzzers list were Indian Hume Pipe Company, Marksans Pharma, Simplex Projects and Ramkrishna Forgings. The list of stocks hitting 52 week lows was populated by Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank and EID Parry to name a few companies.

Traders see mild shade of green at Dalal Street today

Indian stocks remained under selling stress on Wednesday as weak overseas cues from Wall Street and less than satisfactory data on Chinese manufacturing spiked sentiment further on Dalaal Street. Metals, Fertilisers and Telecom stocks were under pressure. 
 The <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> fell 58 points to 7,754, recovering from its early morning low of 7,725 points. Hindalco, Vedanta, Coal India, Tata Motors and <keyword id="45660" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Yes-Bank">Yes Bank</keyword> were the top five losers on the Index where the lone gainer was Wipro. The first 3 slots on the top traded list were held by Motherson Sumi, Maruti and Larsen &amp; Toubro on the <keyword id="53581" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="NATIONAL-STOCK-EXCHANGE">National Stock Exchange</keyword>. 
 
The broader market was under selling pressure too with CNX 100, CNX 200 and CNX 500 Indices slipping about 0.5 percent each. Modest losses were also seen on CNX Mid Cap and CNX Small Cap indices as well. Sectoral indices, too, showed losses. Benchmarks representing the metals, banking, finance and pharma sectors lost between 0.5 percent and 1.2 percent on the National Stock Exchange. 
 Bit selling was also seen on the <keyword id="43628" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bombay-stock-exchange">Bombay Stock Exchange</keyword> where the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> dropped 0.5 percent to 25,514 points. Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Lupin and HDFC slipped in trade. Gainers included NTPC and Mahindra and Mahindra on the Sensex where the Advance-Decline Ratio was 4:26. 
 
Larsen, Tata Steel and Tata Motors were the top traded stocks on the Sensex.

The wider market on the BSE saw 844 shares dropping below Tuesday's closing prices compared with 640 that rose in early deals. 
 
The mood was bearish on the futures and options segment where the last stage of the monthly expiry of contracts pans out. However, there were some notable winners against the backdrop of the bear grip with futures such as JP Power, Just Dial and Amtek Auto showing up on the winners' list. JSW Steel, Bata and Bosch remained under selling pressure on the market where just 51 futures rose compared with 108 that fell. 
 
Chambal Fertilisers and Aptech were the notable stocks on the top volume buzzers list on the NSE. And figuring on the 52 week lows list were Hindalco, Coal India, Care Ratings and Gujarat Gas.

The Nifty snapped a 3-day losing streak on Thursday gaining ground as traders covered some of their short positions and investors bottom fished in a market that sunk to fresh 1-year lows. 
 
A strong positive close on <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Wall+Street">Wall Street</a> and a 2-day holiday at markets in China, the biggest economic problem that the world is currently facing, boosted sentiment on Dalal Street. 
 
The Nifty rose 106 points to end the day at its high of 7,823 points. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Cairn">Cairn</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tata+Steel">Tata Steel</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=HDFC">HDFC</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Axis+Bank">Axis Bank</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=UltraTech">UltraTech</a> were the top gainers on the Index while Idea, BPCL, Bosch, Lupin and Hero Motor slipped in trade. The Advance-Decline Ratio for the index stood at 44/6. 
 
Infosys, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank were the top 3 traded stocks on the Nifty and it was a rare day that all 3 were in positive territory. 
 
Broader indices posted sharp gains. The CNX 100, CNX 200, CNX 500, CNX Mid Cap and CNX Small Cap Indices rose between 1.1-1.3 percent in trade. 
 
The Bank Nifty added 1.8 percent to 16,555 points. The CNX Media,, CNX PSU Bank, CNX Finance and CNX Auto Indices were coloured in a dark shade of green. 
 
The Sensex was also on the front foot on the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bombay+Stock+Exchange">Bombay Stock Exchange</a>, surging 311 points, or 1.2 percent, to 25,765 points. Tata Steel, Vedanta and Axis Bank were the top gainers while Lupin, Sun Pharma and Infosys slipped in trade. The Advance-Decline Ratio was a strong 27/3 and ICICI Bank, SBI and Axis Bank were the top 3 traded counters on the Index. 
 
The broader market was bullish as well, with 1,710 stocks gaining versus 973 that lost ground. 
 
Bulls made inroads into the futures and options space as well. Front month Nifty futures rose 104 points to 7,847 after 3 days of losses. The Advance-Decline Ratio was 143/18. DLF, JSW Energy and I B Real Estate were the top gaining futures while Amtek Auto, Kaveri Seed and Idea Cellular slipped in derivatives trade. 
 
All 18 sectors recorded gains in the futures and options segment. 
 
Aptech, Caplin Point, Career Point, Amtek Auto and APL Apollo Tubes made it top the volume buzzers list while stocks hitting new lows were Coromandel International, Atlanta, ICICI Bank and Gujarat NRE Coke.
