However, the Hindi version will be released at a later date. The movie hit OTTs within three weeks of its theatrical release. Those who have a premium or super plan subscription of the OTT platform, which is ₹1,499 and ₹899 per annum, will be able to watch it online. The movie will also be shown on Star Gold and Star Gold 2 channels on TV but the date is unknown. The sports action film was produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Charmme Kaur and Puri Jagannath, who is also the director of the movie. It opened on the silver screen in August and ran in theatres for about three weeks across the country. The total box office collection of the film was just ₹20.5 crore, according to <a href="https://www.bollywoodhungama.com/movie/liger/box-office/">Bollywood Hungama</a>. While the estimated budget of the movie was ₹125 crore. According to several <a href="https://www.indiatoday.in/movies/regional-cinema/story/vijay-deverakonda-to-return-rs-6-crore-from-his-salary-to-producers-after-liger-flops-reports-1996642-2022-09-05">reports</a>, lead actor Devarakonda had returned ₹6 crore from his fee to the producer after the movie performed badly at the box office. Professional American Boxer Mike Tyson also made an extended cameo in the movie, which was the surprise element of the movie, as per media <a href="https://www.zeebiz.com/trending/entertainment/news-liger-ott-release-when-and-where-to-watch-vijay-deverakondas-debut-bollywood-film-200139">reports</a>. The movie also stars veteran actress Ramya Krishnan, who is well-known for her role as the matriarch in the Bahubali franchise.

On an average, Mission Mangal has 14 shows in each theatre, while Batla House has it in 12. Akshay Kumar, the protagonist of Mission Mangal claimed that the actual Mars mission by ISRO had a budget of ₹450 crore which is lower than ₹500 crore budget of his Robot 2.0 movie. This is how much Big Bollywood producers bet on their big budget movies. And, it is the first weekend collections are extremely key as the days of even a superhit movie running in the theatres for a month are long gone. This is necessary for them to reach the ₹100 crore target in its short lifetime. Few producers can take the chance. Small and independent <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/articles/double-celebration-for-sohum-shah-starrer-tumbbad/20044161">movies like Tumbadd </a>which was a sleeper hit, have little to lose in terms of box office collections. And platforms like Jio etc will the makers reach a wider audience that may not go to the theatres to watch them. However, the big-budget blockbusters need people to throng to the theatres on the opening weekend to recover their investment. In fact, one of India’s successful directors Rohit Shetty said at FICCI Frames this February that the movie industry could co-exist with OTT platforms. “We had this debate even when VHS (tape player) and television came in and when movies were showcases within a few months. I think films and video streaming services like Zee5, Netflix and Hotstar are parallel worlds. Film theatres will not shut down because of them,” Shetty had said But Mukesh Ambani’s plan might change Shetty’s perception. He is offering this service not just as a part of a movie plan, but for those who opt for his premium Jio Fibre broadband service. It means that customers who enjoy high speed connections might get a new movie right onto their screens, without even asking. And that will kill the already dying shelf life of expensive movies made for the ‘big screen’.

Expect a Spielberg-Netflix kinda war in Bollywood after Reliance Jio’s ‘first day, first show’

In the last few years, we have had a lot of movies that have tried to offer something new to the audience. In fact, last week itself, we saw the release of a biopic staring <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword>, which has been much appreciated. 
 This week it was the turn of Deepika Padukone starrer English language quirky drama to try its luck at Box Office. The movie has managed to create a place for itself amongst the niche audience but did not create a stir amongst the masses. As per Girish Johar, Film Business Expert “In the first opening weekend, <keyword id="1667771" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Finding-Fanny">Finding Fanny</keyword> has collected Rs 16.75 crore (both versions) approximately at the Indian box office”. 
 
Apart from Deepika Padukone, there were also other big names such as Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia. 
 This week, Vikram Bhatt’s movie <keyword id="1700318" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Creature-3D">Creature 3D</keyword>, too, was released. The movie stars Bipasha Basu along with Pakistani actor Imran Abbas Naqvi. This is Naqvi’s first movie in Bollywood. As per Johar, Creature 3D managed to rake in Rs 10.5 crores approximately in its first weekend at the BO. 
 On the other hand, <keyword id="47387" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Mary-Kom">Mary Kom</keyword> continues to grow strong. The movie has so far managed to gather Rs 46 Crores at the box office. Considering that neither Finding Fanny nor Creature 3D managed to excite the Indian viewers, there is a good possibility that Mary Kom will continue to hold its ground in this week too. 
 While Bollywood movies did not manage to strike Gold at box office this week, Ravi Teja starrer latest Telugu film <keyword id="44011" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="power">Power</keyword> got to a good start. In the first weekend collection, the movie has managed to collect nearly Rs 16.04 crores. 
 
The next week is another big one for Bollywood as Daawet-e-Ishk and Khoobsurat clash at the box office. Let us see which amongst the two walks away with the cake.
