Aside from its Super Cruise driver-assistance technology and the persistence of the Escalade name as a big player in the SUV segment, there haven't been many standout moments. The result is a brand continuing to experiment by shuffling things around. </p><p>One of the ways it attempted to do that was by launching sporty models aimed squarely at the German sports sedans - the high-performance Mercedes and BMW models of the world. These performance variants could be differentiated from the rest of the Cadillac lineup with the "V-Series" designation in their names.</p><p>On Tuesday, Cadillac <a href="https://media.cadillac.com/media/us/en/cadillac/home.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2020/apr/0414-cadillac-blackwing.html">announced</a> the newest addition to its V-Series: the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. </p>

Marjorie Taylor Greene's latest cultural venture includes a starring role in a rap music video in which she's declared "MAGA's MVP."</p><p>Florida-based rapper Kurt Jantz, who goes by Forgiato Blow, released a new music video on Sunday dedicated to the Georgia representative.</p><p>"Marjorie, I really love what you do/Keep calling RINOs out/No one does it better than you, huh?" Jantz raps. Throughout the video, Greene silently nods her head next to Jantz or remains in the background, sitting on a throne or atop a red convertible. </p><p>It's unclear when the Georgia representative had time to participate in the music video's filming. Jantz told Insider in an email that he made the song to "honor" Greene's "hustle &amp; hard work."</p><p>Greene's spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment sent over the weekend.</p><p>The representative said on Twitter that the song was a way to "promote the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-gender-affirming-medical-care-transgender-youth-felony-2022-8">Protect Children's Innocence Act</a>," which proposes a federal ban on gender-affirming care for minors. The song features a snippet of Greene's transphobic statements, accusing Democrats of "grooming children" and that President Joe Biden supports "sexualizing children" and having "transgender surgeries." <br /><br /></p><p>This is not the first time Greene has tried to insert herself into hip-hop culture. Back in January, she posted a promotional video of herself featuring an instrumental of Dr. Dre's hit single, "Still D.R.E." Dre disapproved of Greene's use of his music.</p><p>"I don't license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one," <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/09/dr-dre-didnt-license-song-rep-marjorie-taylor-green-video/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">he told TMZ</a>.</p><p>In a statement to <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-golden-throne-rap-song-forgiato-blow-1813246" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Newsweek</a>, Greene said, "most rap videos exploit women, glorify drugs and violence, but Forgiato Blow's new video is about calling out the left's grooming agenda and protecting our children from genital mutilation."</p><p>Children <a href="https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/aug/10/ron-desantis/transition-related-surgery-limited-teens-not-young/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">do not receive gender-affirming surgery</a>. Gender-affrming surgery, which can include facial reconstructive surgery, removal of breast tissue, or genitial surgery, is sometimes performed on teens, but cases are <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/what-medical-treatments-do-transgender-youth-get" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rare</a>. The <a href="https://www.wpath.org/media/cms/Documents/SOC%20v7/SOC%20V7_English.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">World Professional Association for Transgender Health</a> also recommends that gender-affirmative care emphasize psychological needs before "any physical interventions are considered for adolescents."</p><p>Politics in music is evergreen. But Jantz's song reflects a relatively new brand of heavy-handed, MAGA-centric musical numbers that have cropped up in the wake of the Trump administration.</p><p>In March, a group of men convicted for participating in the January 6 Capitol riot released a single called <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-released-a-song-with-capitol-riot-prisoners-2023-3">"Justice for All,"</a> which briefly sat on iTunes' Top Songs chart.</p><p>There's also a trio of women, calling themselves The Deplorable Choir, who released a song called "Real Women Vote Trump."</p><p>"We don't care if you're white/Don't care if you're black/We don't care if you're gay/We're all under attack," they sing.</p><p>Perhaps one of the more prominent musicians to contribute to the genre of pro-Trump music is Kid Rock, who released the song "We The People" in January 2022.</p><p>"But COVID's near, it's coming to town/We gotta act quick, shut our borders down/Joe Biden does, the media embraces/Big Don does it and they call him a racist," Rock sings.</p><p>Part of this recent effort from the right to infiltrate pop culture with overtly political music can be traced to the success of rapper YG's "FDT" or "Fuck Donald Trump," released before Trump secured the presidency in 2016.</p><p>The song was certified Gold in January 2022, has over 33 million views on YouTube, and topped the iTunes chart in 2020 after Trump lost the election.</p><p>Conservative hip-hop artists have since attempted to recreate the success of YG's song with a pro-Trump twist. One rapper has a song called "F Biden," mimicking the chorus of YG's song by repeating, "Fuck Joe Biden."</p><p>Some conservatives have tried to <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/05/28/save_us_from_republicans_who_rap_remove_this_monster_boot_off_the_neck_of_our_sovereign_union_and_vote_for_ted_cruz/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">co-opt hip-hop</a> even as members of their party demonize the genre.</p><p>Former Fox News commentator Geraldo Rivera <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3_hi8eWdbY&amp;t=56s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said,</a> "hip-hop has done more damage to young African Americans than racism in recent years" — a soundbite that was eventually sampled in Kendrick Lamar's song, "DNA."</p><p>Jantz told Insider that he has made songs with other prominent rappers, but pivoted to use hip-hop as a vehicle to support Trump.</p><p>"I started making pro-MAGA rap in 2016 &amp; never looked back," Jantz told Insider. "I have hit songs with Rick Ross, Kodak Black, Lil Durk, too many rappers to name, but I felt I could use my talents God gave me to send a better message to the kids &amp; the community. I have been working hard to get Trump back in office &amp; to change the culture." </p>

<ul class="summary-list"><li>I tested <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/category/cadillac">Cadillac</a> Super Cruise, the company's fully-hands-free, semi-self-driving technology.</li><li>Super Cruise can be used only on mapped highways, but <keyword id="128115" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Cadillac">Cadillac</keyword> says it has covered 200,000 miles of roads in the US and Canada.</li><li><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cadillac-super-cruise-first-drive-details-pictures-2017-9">I last sampled Super Cruise in 2017</a>; the system has updates on the way and will be a key feature of the new Escalade SUV.</li><li>The technology was the same as what I experienced three years ago, but I was able to subject Super Cruise to a pair of new challenges: the congested Garden State Parkway in New Jersey and rainy weather.</li><li>Super Cruise performed almost flawlessly, offering only a single minor incident that the technology handled well.</li></ul><p>When Cadillac debuted its fully hands-free, highway self-driving technology, called Super Cruise, in 2017 the company <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cadillac-super-cruise-first-drive-details-pictures-2017-9">invited me to experience the system on a jaunt from New York City to Washington, DC</a>.</p><p>I went in with an open mind and returned to NYC on Amtrak's Acela with my mind blown. My Super Cruise-equipped Cadillac CT6 sedan couldn't drive itself everywhere, but on I-95, it was essentially flawless. </p><p><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-self-driving-systems-in-cars-compared-2017-12">I've tested most of the semi-self-driving technologies available in vehicles</a>, including <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-tesla-autopilot-compares-to-cadillac-super-cruise-2017-10">Tesla's controversial Autopilot</a>, and for me, there's no question that Super Cruise is the state-of-the-art for highways. </p><p><keyword id="6372405" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="gm">GM</keyword> is about to roll the system out on additional vehicles, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/review-cadillac-escalade-2021-luxury-suv-photos-and-features-2020-10">including the all-new Escalade SUV</a> and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cadillac-super-cruise-handsfree-highway-driving-tech-why-it-works-2020-3">a new version of the all-electric Chevy Bolt EV</a>.</p><p>On top of all that, Super Cruise is getting new features, including lane-changing and the ability to navigate off-ramps. </p><p>I wanted to get reacquainted with Super Cruise before its upgrade, so I revisited the tech in a 2019 CT6 Platinum, a $98,790 mega-sedan with a stonking V8 engine under the hood and the self-driving system included in the pre-option price of $95,795. (Depending on trim level, Super Cruise costs anywhere from $2,500 to just over $6,000 as an extra.)</p><div type="image" title="Cadillac CT6 Super Cruise" height="1503" width="2000" msid="79113692" hostid="261"></div><p>Sadly, I didn't have a long road trip on my agenda. But I live in the northern New Jersey suburbs, with easy access to outstanding real-world proving grounds: I-80 and the Garden State Parkway.</p><p>Mother Nature threw a fresh challenge at the CT6, as well. My first test drive took place in a steady rainstorm — not a downpour, but one of those episodes of steady drizzle and squall that impact the Northeast from time to time. Nothing to keep you off the road, but difficult enough to keep you focused behind the wheel.</p><p>My second drive was all about near-perfect climatic conditions, but it also involved the Garden State Parkway and considerable traffic on a roadway that's full of curves and toll booths and that tends to see a fair amount of maintenance, making for unpredictable driving.</p><h2>Not full self-driving — but exceptionally good on the highway</h2><div type="image" title="Cadillac Super Cruise Drive" height="1334" width="1778" msid="79113696" hostid="261"></div><p>Super Cruise, like Tesla Autopilot, isn't truly a self-driving technology. Cadillac's tech is essentially advanced cruise control plus situational automated steering. The carmaker has carefully defined its operating rules, starting with restricting the system to divided highways only (no oncoming traffic) where on ramp-and-off ramp access is extensive.</p><p>Beyond that, according to Caddy, the Super Cruise algorithm demands that adaptive cruise control is active; the forward collision system is set to alert and brake; the vehicle is on a limited-access freeway; camera or radar sensors are not covered, obstructed, or damaged; the system detects that the driver appears attentive; lane markings are clearly visible, not blurred by weather or other factors; and the "Teen Driver" feature isn't on.</p><p>About that "driver appears attentive" part: Super Cruise uses a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/general-motors-super-cruise-eye-tracking-technology-2016-9" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">camera mounted on the steering column to monitor how attentive you're being</a>. It disengages if your eyes wander from the instrument cluster. So although it's possible to engage in risky and distracting behaviors, such as texting or checking Instagram, the system will eventually bust you. </p><div type="image" title="Cadillac CT6 Super Cruise" height="1500" width="2000" msid="79113705" hostid="261"></div><p>Cadillac used lidar scanners to map over 200,000 miles of roads in the US and Canada, and says that Super Cruise has racked up six million total miles driven in the past three years. GM has said that it isn't aware of a single accident during that period of time, but thus far Super Cruise has been available on just one vehicle, and CT6 has sold around 10,000 or fewer units annually since its launch in 2016.</p><p>I couldn't fluster Super Cruise in my testing (and for the record, I violated Caddy's warning not to use my phone while the system is engaged, so that I could take a few photos). I was particularly impressed with how the tech managed the rainy weather; it was one of those not-quite-heavy-rain scenarios where visibility was reduced and passing semis were kicking up spray.</p><p>I find this to be one of the toughest situations for a human to drive in, mainly because the conditions aren't so bad that they compel other motorists to reduce their speeds or avoid a lot of lane changes. Meanwhile, it's hard to see farther than half a dozen or so vehicles down the road, and depending on how cold it is, you can end up with foggy windows.</p><h2>Another mostly flawless performance</h2><div type="image" title="Cadillac CT6 Super Cruise" height="1500" width="2000" msid="79113712" hostid="261"></div><p>On top of all that, the sketchy highway infrastructure of north Jersey means that you go from nice, smooth asphalt one minute to pothole city the next, with sections of road repair cropping up frequently. Lanes markers can be crisply painted or completely faded, and in a storm, you never know when you'll encounter patches of standing water.</p><p>Over a roughly 60-mile round-trip, Super Cruise performed nearly flawlessly. I say nearly because I had one instance of lane drift, but the system caught itself at the same moment I was reaching for the steering wheel.</p><p>Otherwise, I didn't experience any disengagements on the route, which was mostly on I-80. I was prompted to take the wheel a few times, but at least one of those prompts was due to my snapping a photo of the green Super Cruise light bar on the steering wheel, in the process blocking the camera that was monitoring my attention.</p><div type="image" title="Cadillac CT6 Super Cruise" height="1500" width="2000" msid="79113716" hostid="261"></div><p>A few days later, I threw what I thought would be a tougher challenge at Super Cruise: another 60-mile run, this time down the Garden State Parkway in mid-afternoon, fast-moving traffic.</p><p>My previous trip might have entailed crummy weather, but for round two, the sun was shining and conditions were dry. However, the Parkway is a lot curvier than I-80, and it features numerous toll-booth exchanges and plenty of merging. Speed changes are also routine, from normal velocities to complete stops.</p><p>I expected Super Cruise to find itself in places where it could no longer safely operate, and sure enough, the system disengaged twice and also couldn't locate itself around two toll areas. In my neck of the woods, I have to slow down from the posted speed limit to five or ten miles per hour to negotiate the tolls anyway, so I would have taken back the wheel regards. </p><h2>Too bad about the Blackwing</h2><div type="image" title="Cadillac CT6 Super Cruise" height="1500" width="2000" msid="79113721" hostid="261"></div><p>Beyond that, Super Cruise turned in another impeccable performance. I can't overestimate how relaxing this is. The whole point of a fully-hands-free highway tech is to provide a window for drivers to reduce stress in a way that goes beyond old-school cruise control. Other semi-self-driving systems, including Tesla Autopilot, demand incessant monitoring, so for me they often increase a cognitive load that's already very elevated, simply because you're in a large, powerful vehicle, hurtling down the highway.</p><p>With Super Cruise, I put my hands in my lap, kept my eyes on the road, and chilled out. Over a few hundred miles, as I found when I drove down to DC in 2017, one arrives in a nice, mellow state. And coming off the Parkway in 2020, I definitely appreciated it.</p><p>In the end, the biggest challenge with Super Cruise had nothing to do with the self-driving technology but rather with the specs of the CT6 itself. The 4.2-liter, twin-turbo V8, dubbed "Blackwing," is tuned to 500 horsepower and 574 pound-feet of torque, with a snappy ten-speed automatic transmission sending the oomph to an all-wheel-drive system that, under serious throttle, felt to me as though it were 100% rear-wheel-drive.</p><p>Regrettably, the Blackwing configuration has been discontinued, so the joyful noise the engine produces and the ferocious power delivery is going away. I found it to be so much fun that I didn't entirely want to use Super Cruise. That's a heady blend: a car that can drive itself, and that also demands you drive it. Near-perfection, in my book, and wearing a Cadillac badge.</p>

REVIEW: Cadillac Super Cruise trumps Tesla Autopilot as the best self-driving technology you can buy today

<ul class="summary-list"><li>More than two dozen 2020 vehicles won't be back for the 2021 model year. </li><li>As consumer demand shifts, many automakers are eliminating sedans, wagons, and hatchbacks. </li><li>Only one crossover won't make it to 2021: the Dodge Journey. </li></ul><p>The <keyword id="34478" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="auto-industry">auto industry</keyword> is in the midst of a crossover boom - and for every new compact crossover automakers bring to market, some sorry sedan or hatchback heads to the automotive graveyard.</p><p>The list of models that won't live to see the 2021 model year includes some iconic and long-running nameplates like the Lincoln Continental, Chevy Impala, and Dodge Grand Caravan, along with some short-lived models that just didn't manage to catch on, like Jaguar's high-performance station wagon and Alfa Romeo's inexpensive mid-engine sports car. </p><p>And although the models that won't live to see the 2021 model year span makes and price points, the one thing that unites nearly all of them is that they're not crossovers. In fact, after the 2020 model year, multiple brands - Cadillac, Lincoln, Buick, and Ford among them - will have transitioned to lineups that don't include a single sedan. </p><p>Check out 25 cars automakers killed off for 2021 below: </p><h2><strong>Acura RLX</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="2020_Acura_RLX_Sport_Hybrid_034 source" height="1667" width="2500" msid="79978917" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The RLX luxury sedan is out of Acura's 2021 lineup after selling <a href="https://hondanews.com/en-US/releases/release-807c080220275f828905387c4f002e91-record-light-truck-sales-lift-ahm-and-honda-brand-to-sales-increases-in-2019">just over 1,000 units</a> in 2019. Acura sold roughly 50 times that amount of its MDX crossover, and around 60 times more RDX crossovers. </p><p>It has unusual features like rear-wheel steering and a sporty hybrid option with a claimed 377 horsepower, but that wasn't enough to keep buyers interested.</p><h2><strong>Alfa Romeo 4C Spider</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="Alfa Romeo 4C Spider 3" height="1502" width="2250" msid="79978918" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>Alfa Romeo killed off the hardtop version of the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/alfa-romeo-4c-spider-review-mini-ferrari-2016-7">4C</a> a few years back, and the roadster follows in its footsteps for 2021. Starting at under $70,000, the 4C is one of the most affordable mid-engined sports cars on the market - but alas, it <a href="https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/alfa-romeo-4c-sales-figures-usa-canada/">barely broke triple-digit sales</a> in 2019 and so it's gone for good. </p><p>But other inexpensive mid-engine options like the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chevrolet-corvette-mid-engine-review-c8-horsepower-price-specs-chevy-2020-10">Chevy Corvette</a>, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/porsche-718-boxster-s-and-alfa-romeo-4c-spider-comparison-2018-5">Porsche Boxster</a>, and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/porsche-cayman-s-review-photos-details-2018-3">Porsche Cayman</a> are still kicking. </p><h2><strong>BMW i8</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="bmw i8 hero" height="2000" width="3000" msid="79978919" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>After six years on the market, it's the end of the line for the plug-in hybrid i8. Despite its somewhat confused combination of exotic looks and a tiny three-cylinder engine (aided by electric motors), the i8 managed to sell more than 20,000 units in its run, making it <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/a-look-back-at-the-futuristic-bmw-i8-which-ends-production-in-april-2020-3">the best-selling car of its kind</a>, according to BMW. </p><p><a href="https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/08/26/bmw-i8-successor/">Rumors have circulated</a> around a possible i8 successor based on the Vision M Next concept car, but there's no official word yet on when or if that will happen. </p><h2><strong>BMW M8 Coupe and Convertible</strong></h2><div type="image" title="P90348795_highRes_the all new bmw m8 c" height="1571" width="2095" msid="79978920" hostid="261"></div><p>BMW is trimming the options available for its halo M8 due to COVID-19-related supply issues, <a href="https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a34252647/2021-bmw-m8-coupe-convertible-phased-out/">Car and Driver</a> reported in October. The coupe and convertible won't be available for 2021, but the four-door Gran Coupe version is still on the table if you have a spare $130,000 laying around.</p><h2><strong>Buick Regal</strong></h2><div type="image" title="2019 Buick Regal GS 021 (1)" height="1398" width="1865" msid="79978923" hostid="261"></div><p>After nearly 50 years on the market, GM has canceled the Buick Regal as part of its shift away from passenger cars. The move means the Buick brand will have an all-SUV lineup going into the 2021 model year.</p><h2><strong>Cadillac CT6</strong></h2><div type="image" title="2020 Cadillac CT6 V US Product 013" height="2377" width="3169" msid="79978929" hostid="261"></div><p>Cadillac made a name for itself building gigantic land yachts, but it's pared back its sedan lineup in recent years. Its biggest sedan won't make it to 2021, despite being one of Caddy's technological leaders and the only vehicle to get its twin-turbocharged, 4.2-liter, 550-horsepower <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cadillacs-new-blackwing-cars-here-to-take-on-bmw-mercedes-2020-4#-2">Blackwing V8</a>. </p><h2><strong>Chevrolet Impala</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="2018 Chevrolet Impala." height="2000" width="3000" msid="79978931" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The iconic Impala nameplate bites the dust this year, but it's not the first time GM has discontinued the model. It's been on the market in spurts since the late 1950s - so there's still hope it returns once the nostalgia sets in. </p><h2><strong>Chevrolet Sonic</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="2020 Chevrolet Sonic 006" height="1395" width="2500" msid="79978933" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The demise of the small car claims another victim in the Chevy Sonic. Sales of the inexpensive hatchback and sedan peaked in 2014, when Chevy sold <a href="https://carsalesbase.com/us-chevrolet-sonic/">nearly 94,000 of them</a>, but plummeted <a href="https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2020/jan/0103-gmsales.html">below 14,000 in 2019</a>. </p><p>It started its life outside the US as the Aveo, and, like lots of compact cars that don't find success stateside, it will live on in other markets. </p><h2><strong>Dodge Grand Caravan</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="2020 Dodge Grand Caravan." height="1667" width="2500" msid="79978934" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The Dodge Grand Caravan arguably <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/history-rise-fall-of-the-minivan-led-by-dodge-caravan-2020-4">birthed the minivan segment</a> when it came on the scene in 1984 along with its upmarket sibling, the Plymouth Voyager. Now, as crossovers and full-size SUVs have superseded minivans as America's family hauler of choice, the minivan that started it all is no more. </p><p>But Fiat Chrysler isn't out of the minivan game altogether - it still sells the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chrysler-pacifica-hybrid-minivan-review-features-2019-4">Chrysler Pacifica</a>, which got a facelift for 2021. </p><h2><strong>Dodge Journey</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="DG020_003JNf41s27dlha2vt5b61j75a7jmp2" height="1667" width="2500" msid="79978935" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The Dodge Journey is the only crossover to kick the bucket for 2021, which speaks volumes of its consumer appeal - or lack thereof. The Focus, Fiesta, and Taurus have all left the scene as well, leaving the Ecosport compact crossover as Ford's entry-level offering. </p><h2><strong>Ford Mustang Shelby GT350</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Heritage Edition_6.JPG" height="1667" width="2500" msid="79978990" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The V8-powered, manual-transmission-only <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ford-mustang-shelby-gt350-gt350r-stopping-production-this-fall-2020-10">Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R</a> pay homage to the famed Shelby GT350 of the 1960s, which kicked off the Mustang's high-performance reputation. But that rich history wasn't enough for the Blue Oval to keep it around. </p><p>For buyers who desire no less than an absurdly powerful sports car bearing the Shelby name, the 760-horsepower Shelby GT500 is still on the market. </p><h2><strong>Honda Civic Coupe and Civic Si</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="2020 Honda Civic Si" height="1608" width="3000" msid="79978991" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>Honda is launching a new, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/2022-honda-civic-debut-photos-sleek-styling-2020-11">11th generation of the Civic</a> for 2021, and some changes are coming to the popular model's lineup. The two-door Civic Coupe variant bites the dust after the 2020 model year, while the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/honda-civic-si-review-specs-sedan-manual-price-horsepower-sport-2020-8">sporty Si</a> will take a hiatus for 2021 and return for the following model year. </p><h2><strong>Honda Fit</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="Honda Fit" height="800" width="1200" msid="79978992" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>Carmakers are getting rid of small hatchbacks left and right, and Honda is no exception. It's axing the Fit, despite the little guy being widely regarded as <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/one-of-the-best-affordable-cars-you-can-buy-just-got-an-update-2017-7">one of the best compact economy cars</a> money can buy. </p><p>It's an understandable move, given that Fit sales have declined as appetite for the brand's crossovers grows. Now the cheapest vehicle in Honda's lineup is the $21,000 HR-V, which <a href="https://hondanews.com/en-US/releases/release-807c080220275f828905387c4f002e91-record-light-truck-sales-lift-ahm-and-honda-brand-to-sales-increases-in-2019">outsold the Fit three-to-one</a> in 2019. </p><h2><strong>Hyundai Elantra GT</strong></h2><div type="image" title="2020 Elantra GT " height="995" width="1326" msid="79978994" hostid="261"></div><p>The hatchback version of the Hyundai Elantra heads to the great junkyard in the sky after the 2020 model year, along with its sporty sibling, the GT N Line. <a href="https://www.hyundainews.com/en-us/releases/3101">Hyundai said</a> the hatchback was displaced by the compact Venue and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hyundai-kona-review-photos-styling-2020-12">Kona</a> crossovers.</p><p>But the Veloster and Veloster N carry over to 2021. </p><h2><strong>Jaguar XE</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="Jaguar XE" height="1667" width="2500" msid="79978995" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>Jaguar is eliminating its entry-level sport sedan, the XE, from its US lineup after selling only <a href="https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/jaguar-xe-sales-figures-usa-canada/">3,551 of them</a> in 2019. By comparison, BMW regularly sells well <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200103005391/en/BMW-of-North-America-Reports-December-2019-and-Year-End-U.S.-Sales.">over 40,000</a> 3-Series sedans annually, while Mercedes-Benz moved some <a href="https://carsalesbase.com/us-mercedes-benz-c-class/">50,000 C-Class sedans</a> in 2019. </p><p>For 2021, the XF sedan assumes the entry-level spot and gets a significant price cut to match.</p><h2><strong>Jaguar XF Sportbrake</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="Jaguar XF S" height="1200" width="1800" msid="79978996" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>Wagons are also going by the wayside as crossovers take over, and Jaguar is pulling its one and only long-roof model, the XF Sportbrake, from the American market after only three model years. In that time, Jaguar sold fewer than 250 of the wagons, according to <a href="https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a34285524/jaguar-xe-xf-sportbrake-cancelled/">Road &amp; Track</a>.</p><p>Buyers in the market for a luxury wagon will need to look to offerings like the Volvo V90, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/audi-a4-allroad-wagon-crossover-review-2017-6">Audi</a> A6 Avant, or <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/porsche-panamera-gts-sport-turismo-review-photos-features-verdict-2020-2">Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo</a> come 2021. </p><h2><strong>Kia Optima</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="Kia Optima" height="1326" width="2000" msid="79978997" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The Kia Optima is on its way out after two decades in production. But the South Korean carmaker isn't abandoning sedans like some of its US counterparts - the Optima is succeeded by a sleek new mid-sized model called the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/2021-kia-k5-specs-features-photos-release-date">K5</a>. </p><h2><strong>Lexus GS</strong></h2><div type="image" title="LEX GSG MY20 0010 LEAD IMAGE scaled" height="1298" width="1731" msid="79978999" hostid="261"></div><p>The Lexus GS hit the scene in the early 1990s and has endured through four generations. This particular rear-wheel-drive sedan may be going away after 2020, but Lexus-sedan stans will still be able to choose the ES, LS, and IS. </p><h2><strong>Lincoln Continental</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="Lincoln Continental" height="942" width="2000" msid="79979001" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>Lincoln has used the Continental name on and off for some 80 years, and this latest version of the car is dead for 2021. But given the nameplate's deep history, there's a good shot it will come back someday - perhaps on some future electric luxury sedan. </p><h2><strong>Lincoln MKZ</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="Lincoln MKZ" height="2000" width="3000" msid="79979002" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>With the MKZ and Continental gone for 2021, Lincoln is <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/lincoln-continental-mkz-sedan-dead-suv-crossover-lineup-american-luxury-2020-7">left with an all-SUV lineup</a> of the Nautilus, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/2020-lincoln-aviator-review-hybrid-specs-three-row-suv-luxury-2020-7">Aviator</a>, Corsair, and the flagship Navigator. </p><p>And the numbers back up Lincoln's move. In 2019, the brand sold some <a href="https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2020/01/06/sales-4q2019.pdf">88,000 SUVs</a> and fewer than 25,000 sedans - and that's with only a partial year of Aviator sales. </p><p>Following this year's lineup shakeups at Ford and Lincoln, the Mustang is the Blue Oval's only car left standing. </p><h2><strong>Mercedes-Benz SLC</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="_F8A6477 1200x800" height="800" width="1200" msid="79979005" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The Mercedes-Benz SLC is has been officially discontinued with no successor planned, following more than two decades of continuous production. For the model's last hurrah, Mercedes added a yellow <a href="https://media.mbusa.com/releases/the-slc-final-edition">2020 SLC Final Edition</a> to its lineup. </p><h2><strong>Toyota Yaris</strong></h2><p><strong><div type="image" title="Yaris " height="1166" width="1555" msid="79979006" hostid="261"></div></strong></p><p>The death of the Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Chevy Sonic, and Hyundai Elantra GT this year - along with the end of the Ford Fiesta and Mazda2 previously - leave a scant few options for fans of subcompacts here in the US. </p><p>Despite the Yaris being a favorite among lovers of small cars, it <a href="https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-motor-north-america-reports-december-2019-year-end-sales/">hasn't sold well</a> in the US as of late. Fewer than 22,000 of them rolled off of dealer lots in 2019, as compared with 304,850 Corollas, 336,978 Camrys, and 448,071 Rav4 crossovers. </p>
