Mumbai Police on Thursday arrested Rakesh Kumar Mishra (30) from Darbhanga in Bihar for allegedly making calls to Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital here in the last two days, threatening to blow up the hospital and kill Ambani, his wife Nita and sons Akash and Anant. The caller had also threatened to blow up Antilia, the famous south Mumbai residence of the Ambani family on Altamount Road in South Mumbai . According of the city police, this is the second instance of Ambani family getting threats on the hospital landline number. On August 15 this year, the hospital had received at least nine calls threatening the Reliance Industries chairman and his family members, said an official. <keyword id="15181308" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="bishnu-vidu-bhoumik" source="Orion">Bishnu Vidu Bhoumik</keyword> (56) was arrested in connection with the calls. In November 2021, Mumbai Police increased the security outside Antilia following a tip given by a taxi driver about a possible threat, but investigation found there was no such threat. But an incident involving threat to the Ambani family earlier that year made national headlines and shook the state government. On February 25, 2021, an explosive-laden SUV was found parked on Carmichael Road in South Mumbai, near the Ambani residence. Police recovered a printed threat note inside along with gelatin sticks. The note this was only a "trailer" and there would be assembled explosives next time instead of just loose sticks. <keyword id="10875173" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mansukh-hiran" source="Orion">Mansukh Hiran</keyword>, a Thane-based businessman, told police the SUV had been stolen from his possession. But the matter took a grim turn when Hiran was found dead in a creek in Thane a few days later, and an Assistant Inspector of Mumbai crime branch, <keyword id="1006310" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sachin-waze" source="Orion">Sachin Waze</keyword> was arrested for alleged involvement in parking the SUV near Antilia and also for Hiran's murder. Ambani family has been target of threats over the years

Even as video footage after another show how doctors are treating the injured on the streets, having run out of space inside the hospital compounds, this massive <keyword id="6362774" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="earthquake">earthquake</keyword> in <keyword id="12266" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nepal">Nepal</keyword> has certainly exposed the woeful state of its medical facilities. Hospitals are struggling to treat vast numbers of injured with limited supplies and staff. 
 

	The country of 28 million has only 2.1 physicians and 50 hospital beds for every 10,000 people, according to a 2011 <keyword id="43588" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="World-Health-Organization">World Health Organization</keyword> report.

	The situation is worsening a humanitarian crisis triggered by Nepal's worst earthquake in 81 years. The 7.9 quake, which struck just before noon on Saturday, has killed more than 2,200 people and injured more than 5,400.

	Casualties are expected to rise, as many more people are feared trapped in debris across the country, from the capital <keyword id="18568" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="kathmandu">Kathmandu</keyword> to remote villages and mountain peaks.<o:p></o:p>

	So far many of the seriously injured in Kathmandu were being referred to <keyword id="1278590" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bir-Hospital">Bir Hospital</keyword>'s <keyword id="6362495" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Trauma-centre">Trauma Centre</keyword>, which opened in February this year with 200 beds.<o:p></o:p>

	Doctors said they needed more than 1,000 more beds to treat the patients that were being brought in ambulances and taxis.<o:p></o:p>

	"The earthquake has exposed that Nepal's best public hospital infrastructure has crumbled at a time when it should serve more people in a hurry," said Sarvendra Moongla, a <keyword id="179880" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="senior-surgeon">senior surgeon</keyword> there.<o:p></o:p>

	Children with multiple injuries were laid on the dusty marble floors of the hospital, while hundreds of other patients with fractured and bloodied limbs lay on the ground outside the hospital under tents as family members struggled to find drinking water and food for them.<o:p></o:p>

	A lack of morgue facilities meant that 13 bodies lay outside the hospital, one of the oldest in Nepal.<o:p></o:p>

	Many patients were prematurely discharged to accommodate the waves of injured <keyword id="19414" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="survivors">survivors</keyword>: Doctors shifted wheel-chair bound patients and several quake survivors with multiple injuries to a playground opposite the hospital.<o:p></o:p>

	Anita Dhungana, 31, said she was admitted to the trauma center last week and operated on just hours before the quake. Doctors had advised 48 hours of bed rest in the hospital.<o:p></o:p>

	"My father begged and pleaded before the doctor to keep me in the hospital. I am still bleeding and cannot walk but there is no one to examine me," Dhungana said.<o:p></o:p>

	Her father pitched a tent near a sewage pit where survivors washed their faces and cooked rice with lentils on kerosene stoves.<o:p></o:p>

	Outside the <keyword id="2825081" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Kathmandu-Medical-College">Kathmandu Medical College</keyword>, about half an hour's drive east from Bir Hospital, Khile Sherpa, 20, sat in the street waiting to be treated. His right eye was lacerated, and he wore a bandage around the head, covering half his face.<o:p></o:p>

	He said he had been evacuated from Mount Everest base camp, where an avalanche triggered by the quake killed at least 17 climbers and injured scores.<o:p></o:p>

	While Nepal's healthcare facilities are limited, they quickly become much worse outside its major cities. Remote regions have only very basic medical centres that are ill-equipped to handle serious injuries.<o:p></o:p>

Shimla, Jul 4 () A 70-year-old woman succumbed to COVID-19 at a hospital in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on Saturday, taking the toll due to the disease in the hill state to 10. The woman, who was a resident of Hamirpur district's Bir-Bagehra village, died due to novel coronavirus at Nerchowk Medical College in Mandi, an official said. The woman, who was also suffering from diabetes mellitus, was referred to Nerchowk Medical College from the dedicated COVID care centre, Bhota on June 28, he said. The 10 deaths in the state so far include that of a 70-year-old woman from Delhi who had been staying at a factory's guest house in Baddi since March 15. She died at PGIMER, Chandigarh on April 2. (Eds: Updates number of cases) Shimla, May 24 () Himachal Pradesh has recorded 18 more cases of COVID-19, taking the tally in the state to 204, officials said on Sunday. Two coronavirus patients from Bilaspur district recovered from the disease on Sunday, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) R D Dhiman said. Ten of the fresh cases were reported from Una, two each from Hamirpur and Kangra and one each from Bilaspur, Chamba, Mandi and Solan districts, they said. Of the 18 new cases, 12 had recently returned from other parts of the country including seven from Mumbai, three from Delhi and one each from West Bengal and Noida, they added. However, the travel history of six others, from Una, was not available immediately, they said. However, regarding four other cases from the district, Una Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar told that a woman, her brother-in-law and two sons, who had returned from Mumbai recently, have tested positive for coronavirus. Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner Harikesh Meena said that a 20-year-old woman from Baragram in Badsar area and a 56-year-old man from Bagehra lower area of the Sujanpur sub-division have tested positive for COVID-19. The woman had returned from Delhi along with her relatives on May 18 and was quarantined at the government high school, Baragram, whereas the man came back from Noida in a taxi on May 20 and was institutionally-quarantined at Government Senior Secondary School at Bir Bagehra, he added. In Kangra, a man from Palampur's Panchrukhi tested positive for the virus, Superintendent of Police Vimukt Ranjan said, adding that he had returned from Delhi a few days ago and was kept under quarantine at a facility at Baijnath. Besides, a 48-year-old taxi driver from Paisa village near Jawalaji also tested positive. He works as a taxi driver in Mumbai and returned from there with three others from Hamirpur district on May 14, he added. He was home quarantined due to some medical conditions and is being shifted to zonal hospital in Dharamshala, he added. In Mandi, a 19-year-old asymptomatic woman from Dharampur in Sarkaghat tehsil tested positive for COVID-19 and is being shifted to a COVID-19 care centre at Dhangshidar, a district official said. She, too, had recently returned from Mumbai with her parents and all of them were in an institutional quarantine centre in Dharampur, he said, adding that the woman''s parents have tested negative for the virus. In Chamba, a 30-year-old youth tested positive. He was institutionally quarantined after recently returning from Mumbai and is being shifted to a COVID care centre at Balu, a district official said. In Bilaspur, a man has tested positive after returning from Delhi on May 21, deputy commissioner Rajeshwar Goel said. A permanent resident of Mandi district, he was institutionally quarantined at Bilaspur's Swarghat on the Himachal Pradesh-Punjab border since his arrival from Delhi, he added. The number of active COVID-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh now stands at 137 and 63 people have recovered so far, according to the officials.
