Keeping with the age-old tradition of giving couples, the latest season of <keyword id="26022" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="bigg-boss">Bigg Boss</keyword> seems to be giving way to a new love story. While the popular couples of last season just broke up, the celebrities locked inside the Bigg Boss house for the eighth season seem to be oblivious to all this. 
 
Everyone knows and agrees that the latest season of celebrity reality show Bigg Boss didn’t start with good ratings, probably because most of the celebrities that went inside the house were not quite famous, and audience could not relate well with them. However, thanks to the efforts of the creative team and <keyword id="6354583" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword>, it has slowly started picking up pace. 
 
Now, we can expect all the more drama in Bigg Boss house, apparently because a romantic couple is in the making. If what they show on the telecast is to be believed, contestants <keyword id="272039" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gautam-Gulati">Gautam Gulati</keyword> and <keyword id="90343" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sonali-Raut">Sonali Raut</keyword> are getting close with each other. 
 
In the episode that aired last night, Sonali kept her head on Gautam’s shoulder the first thing in the morning. Though he was taken aback, Gautam didn’t say a thing and actually went ahead to say that she can rest on his shoulders anytime she feels like, because Ali, who is the captain, would not want to mess with him. 
 
Also, another drama will unfold when Gautam would come to know about Sonali’s claim that Ali touched her in an inappropriate manner when they were sitting on the bed together. 
 
All we can tell you about this is that Bigg Boss didn’t take this accusation lightly and has punished Ali. Being the aggressive man that Gautam is, it remains to be seen if he gives Ali a tough time for touching his special friend, in a wrong way? Also, what punishment would Bigg Boss give to Ali for this indecent behaviour? Well, guess we have to wait until tonight.

It doesn’t only give the world entertainment, but also many so-in-love couples with fan-clubs and nicknames. However, what happens afterwards is something that audience has more interest in, because that is what provides entertainment even after the season ends. 
 
A few weeks back, one of the two couples from Bigg Boss season 7 announced their split, and last week, the remaining one too gave up on their much publicised relationship. Incidentally, both the couples were known to get into arguments with each other.

‘Sallu’ has been on a roll here, hosting the show for the fourth year running. In fact, he has been so smitten that he vows not to “leave it” until Colors channel asked to do so. But there’s another reason why Salman has stuck to the show. It’s the Rs 5 crore fee per episode, but the 47-year-old has jokingly told the media that the amount is higher than that. He has reportedly doubled the money he was charging the previous season, but the actual amount is anybody’s guess. 
 However, Colors does not seem to be that generous with its <keyword id="1866240" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Celebrity-contestants">celebrity contestants</keyword>. For one, Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been reportedly dropped for demanding Rs 1 crore or so. That’s definitely bad news for viewers as he would not have been a damp squib like The Great Khali of Season 4. Music composer Aadesh Srivastava won’t be in either, because he asked for Rs 70 lakh, media reports say. We just hope the prize money hasn’t shrunk as well. Last season, it was Rs 50 lakh, but the big news doing the rounds is that the amount might be double this time. 
 Produced by Endemol India, <keyword id="1632182" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bigg-Boss-season-7">Bigg Boss Season 7</keyword> will hit the air on 15 Sept prime time, that’s 9 in the evening, and the subsequent episodes will be aired daily for the next 104 days. But what will be on the cards at Lonavala, the house of the Bigg Boss, this time? Most people are already drooling over Sallu and his double avatar – that of angel and devil – in tune with the theme. That is bound to grab more eyeballs than before. And in true ‘bad boy’ style, he promises a “hell of a ride” for the 14 celebrity contestants. 
 
We still don’t know for sure who all are joining that coveted list. But the regular dose of glitz and glamour should not be missing either, going by the earlier track record. Loud verbal wars and fisticuffs, mushy scenes and marriage even (remember how Sara Khan and Ali Merchant tied the knot in the Bigg Boss house a couple of years ago). And there was big money in it – it is said that the live-in couple walked away with a whopping wedding cheque of Rs 50 lakh. 
 
It is almost certain that stand-up comedy king Kapil Sharma will make a special appearance on Bigg Boss 7, like he did last time. But the artiste denies joining the show as a house mate. That’s a pity as we all love a clean and clear laughter break after emotion-charged fights, sob scenes and playing politics in and out of the Confession Room. But then, that’s the sticky factor of the show that keeps it at the top of TRP rankings. 
 
Modelled after the popular show Big Brother, the Indian version has a host of celebrity contestants who stay in an isolated house, are cut off from the rest of the world, work through the tasks assigned to them and do some active politicking to vote each other out of the contest till they reach the last leg for the big prize money. Contestants are constantly monitored by in-house TV cameras and one must don an audio microphone all the time, as long as he/she is in the house.

It will help the ad world bounce back to normalcy.</li></ul>India is the land of festivals and every festival is celebrated with great pomp and joy in this country. While the recently concluded festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, which is otherwise known for its fanfare and grand celebration, was affected due to the pandemic, it has brought in early improvement in consumer sentiment. According to Axis My India report, 42% of families said they will shop more or the same as compared to last year. This gives an indication that there is a sense of cautious optimism and the pent-up demand or degree of revenge shopping that happened last year might not be the same this year. This expected increase in spends is higher among private and government service employees. The spends increase on essentials like personal &amp; household care is at 47%, an increase of 4 percentage point over last month. Consumers are spending a little extra money to spruce their homes now to welcome Maa Durga and then prepare for India’s biggest festival, Diwali. Ergo, brands are pinning a lot of hopes on the festive season this year to help them bounce back. They have started working on their advertising campaigns in full swing to win back consumer trust and help shape the market sentiment. The progress of the advertising industry has always been in tandem with consumer sentiment and about 40-45% of the annual ad spends in India happen between Raksha Bandhan and New Year. In many ways, advertising is a lag and lead indicator for our country -- if the country's GDP is growing at 8%, advertising grows at 12%. If GDP falls, ad revenue falls even lower. In 2020, when ad revenue had reached as low as -60% in April, a lot of hopes are banking on the festive season this year for industry’s overall revival. Mohit Joshi, CEO, Havas Media Group India said, “With the increase in the vaccination numbers and positive market sentiments, the festive period is poised for a stronger, and better recovery from 2020. It is estimated that the festive season will generate advertising upwards of INR 7000 Crore, which is approximately 12-15% higher than last year’s festive season and is expected to provide big support to the growing economy.” This Indian festive season is coupled with IPL, which is a gigantic festival in itself that drives advertising industry’s revenue and holds the power to alter market sentiment. Joshi said that the return of IPL 2021 and a slew of high-impact properties like the ICC T20 World Cup coupled with reality shows like the KBC 13, Bigg Boss 15, Dance+6, and several mega OTT releases will make it a festive bonanza for all stakeholders. Hari Krishnan, CEO, Mullen Lintas is also optimistic about seeing a better recovery than 2020. He said, “Last year, it was cautious optimism. This time around, there seems to be a lot more confidence post-vaccination and the optimism appears to be a lot more reassured. That apart, there are two big cricketing events and that’s definitely going to bring a lot of eyeballs back to television. It’s a great reach platform and something that brands would be eager to be a part of. There’s every chance that this festive season could see a lot of pent-up shopping happening which different categories could benefit from.” Experts said that digital will lead the game as advertisers have been shifting their monies from traditional to virtual platforms. Sahil Shah, Managing Partner, WATConsult said, “I reckon it will be a 60-70% jump in certain categories who will go even more aggressive. And compared to pre-covid levels, overall spends should be 15-20% higher. I think digital invariably will see the maximum percentage-wise growth followed by TV and then other mediums. From a marketing point of view, data-led communication will gain more importance and so will eCommerce investments. He also said if there’s another lockdown, e-commerce will still continue to flourish. “Time was more uncertain last year, still the e-commerce industry saw a growth of more than 50% festive orders. This year, we should see same or better results,” said Mahendru. On the other hand, Unmisha Bhatt, Chief Strategy Officer &amp; Director, India and MENA Region at Tonic Worldwide said that brands will explore LinkedIn this year. She said, “Innovative campaigns will be seen by brands on LinkedIn considering the rise in engagement by professionals on LinkedIn. High Reach/Awareness platforms like TV and Outdoor will remain a part of the integrated pie and will see the same demand as earlier. However, the platform which will see the most growth over the previous years is digital since its gained relevance.” Sharing a few other trends which we could see in digital marketing, Bhatt added, “Video commerce and live stream shopping is one of the new trends that we will see coming up soon. And remember teleshopping? We will soon see the rise of that on digital too! Seamless user journey and functionalities will emulate the retail environment to ensure consumers don’t miss the retail experiences. This means, technology-based experiential marketing with AR/VR and Mixed reality to ensure consumer recall, as well as engagement, will see a rise too along with experience commerce which enables sales. Conversation commerce will also pick up in the form of chatbots as it leads to faster responses for the impatient consumer.” Digital adoption accelerated by the pandemic has drastically changed the way audiences consume media. This has also paved the way for content creators, bringing them into the spotlight. Brands want to build a stronger consumer connect by making the content work harder, multiplied by language and platform, rather than making stand-alone traditional pieces of content. Consumer-facing technologies that drive engagement such as filters, interactive ads, shoppable videos are the trends we will see brands adopt as they all encourage social commerce. ” While brands and advertisers are extra cautious this year to commit big monies on media after 2020 and will be looking at ROI from their media investments, they still want to make hay while the sun shines. Prasad Shejale, Founder and CEO, Logicserve Digital said, “Advertisers will tend to focus on all the possible mediums and attract more and more audiences. I am positive that they will scale up equally across different mediums now and hence, all the mediums are sure to grow. With such a focus, I foresee even the bottom-funnel channels to grow. Looking at consumer behaviour and preferences over the past few months or years, I feel video channel will witness a huge growth as there is a dire need to break the clutter nowadays. When I say video, it will be video in every way whether it is video on demand or on social media or OTT. Other categories that popped up in our discussion were EduTech, E-commerce, OTT and travel. “People have begun travelling, offices are slowly opening up. Traffic is back on the roads and the restaurants are filling up slowly. This year, fashion &amp; accessories, FMCG, Durables, EdTech, FinTech and most of the new e-commerce/online brands should be active. We could see some action from auto sector as well,” said Krishnan. Joshi also shared his optimism about spends from the auto and e-commerce industry. He said, “Automobile, gaming, education, beverages, FMCG, cement, tyres &amp; consumer durables are some of the categories that will re-activate their marketing plans in H2. Given the advertising clutter during the festive period, brands will need to drive awareness and stay top-of-mind throughout the consumer’s purchase and consumption journey.” Apart from these obvious ones, Shejale highlighted that the travel industry, which suffered the most during 2020, has finally started picking up. He said, “Firstly, I am sure travel will revive and has already started picking up. As the travel industry flourishes, the hotel and hospitality will grow too. Apart from these, retail (online as well as offline) will also recuperate and continue to grow.” Trends so far have only indicated that consumer sentiment is improving, which is more likely to continue growing during the ongoing festive season.

Experts are hoping to see the advertising industry generate around Rs 7000 crore, 12-15% higher than last year’s festive season

Perhaps the best known Zoroastrian in Bollywood today, Boman Irani needs no introduction. Starting his career in 2001 with Everybody Says I’m Fine, he has established himself as the leading character actor in Bollywood today. Known for his comic roles, Boman Irani has also won awards for playing negative roles in movies. 
 
3. Daisy Irani 
One of the earliest child actors in Indian cinema, Daisy Irani started acting when she was only three years old. Some of the most memorable roles she did as a child actor were in the movies Jagte Raho, Bhai Bhai, Naya Daur and Dhool Ka Phool. Getting married at a tender age of 19, she made a comeback on screen in 1990s. She was last seen in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, directed by Bela Sehgal. 4. Honey Irani 
She too started her career as a child actress (with her younger sister Honey Irani), she turned to script writing after her marriage with playwright Javed Akhtar went sour. The first film to have been penned down by Honey Irani was Sridevi and Anil Kapoor starrer Lamhe. Her other famous films include Aaina, Darr, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, Koi... Mil Gaya, Krrish and Krrish 3. She is the mother of Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, and maternal aunt to Farah Khan and Sajid Khan. 
 
5. Shammi Aunty 
She was born as Nargis Rabadi, but has always been lovingly called as Shammi Aunty. Starting her career as a supporting actress in Begum Para and Sheikh Mukhtar starrer Ustad Pedro, she has completed more than 6 decades in the industry. She was last seen as Boman Irani’s grandmother in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. 
 
6. Tanaaz and Bhakhtyar Irani 
The celebrity couple is known for showing some dancing moves in the celebrity dance show Nach Baliye. Their stint in the third season of the popular show Bigg Boss made them a household name, with Bhaktyar Irani reaching in the final four. The couple will soon make a comeback on the television screen, with a new show Badi Door Se Aaye Hai by Hatsoff Productions. The show goes on air on 9th of June, on SAB TV. Delnaaz Irani is the sister of Bhakhtyar and is a famous <keyword id="18579" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="TV-artist">TV artist</keyword> herself, last seen in Sony TV’s Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara. 
 
Other than these, the industry also has several prominent actors and actresses who are half- Zoroastrians. These names include Aruna Irani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, John Abraham, Cyrus Broacha, Sajid Khan, Farah Khan and the late Farooq Sheikh.
