The <keyword id="6355809" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NCLT" source="Orion">NCLT</keyword> has granted <keyword id="375475" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Future-Retail" source="Orion">Future Retail</keyword> Ltd (FRL) an extension of 90 days for concluding the <keyword id="5961445" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Corporate-Insolvency-Resolution-Process" source="Orion">Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process</keyword> (CIRP) of the company. Allowing FRL's plea the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has extended the deadline to July 15, 2023, for concluding the CIRP of FRL. "... NCLT on April 13, 2023, heard the application and granted the said exclusion of 90 days from CIRP of FRL and consequent extension for completion of CIRP till July 15, 2023," said a regulatory filing from the company. This order was pronounced orally by NCLT on April 13, 2023, and a "written order is awaited", FRL added. The CIRP was initiated against FRL by NCLT on July 20, 2022, following loan default. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) time frame for resolution is 330 days, inclusive of the time taken for litigation. As per Section 12(1) of the Code, the CIRP shall be completed within a period of 180 days from the date of initiation. However, NCLT may grant a one-time extension of 90 days. The maximum time within which CIRP must be mandatorily completed, including any extension or litigation period, is 330 days. Last week, FRL informed that they have received an Expression of Interest (EoI) from 49 players, including <keyword id="10926" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance" source="Orion">Reliance</keyword> Retail, Jindal Power Ltd and <keyword id="6367820" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Adani-Group" source="Orion">Adani Group</keyword> for acquiring the assets of FRL. On March 23, 2023, the resolution professional (RP) of FRL invited new expressions of interest, where prospective buyers can bid for the debt-ridden firm "as a going concern or individual cluster or a combination of clusters of its assets", as it failed to attract a resolution plan in over four months. Earlier, it had received EoI and finalised 11 prospective bidders, including Reliance and April Moon Retail, but could not get a resolution plan despite two extensions in the deadline for submissions. The Committee of Creditors had provided two options in the EoI, for which the last date for submission was April 7, 2023. In the first option, the Prospective Resolution Applicant (PRA) could bid for the acquisition of Future Retail as a whole, including its shareholding interest in its subsidiaries. While under the second option, Future Retail's business has been distributed in five clusters diving business, in which PRAs can bid for "any individual cluster or any combination of clusters." Forget about buying a house here — the cost of living puts Dallas to shame. The University of Texas students really kept the city young and on its toes.I don't see that so much anymore. At that time, I believe there was a 98% occupancy rate. Even back then the rents were sky high — they've just never really come back down.The <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/moving-to-austin-buy-a-home-texas-tech-jobs-2023-10">homes have gotten more expensive</a> here, too.In 1963, my parents bought their house for about $30,000. It's just a tiny house, one story and very simple. When my sister sold it after my mother passed away, it went for $220,000. My husband is also retired from the military and on Social Security, but our incomes aren't enough to buy a nice house in an Austin neighborhood.We're renting as we wait to move out of the state. Right now we pay $2,300 a month for a three-bedroom, two-bath home that's around 1,900 square feet.We know our <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/people-are-moving-from-austin-orlando-to-smaller-quieter-cities-2024-3">money is going to go a lot farther</a> elsewhere.<h2 id="a6ca3b52-781f-45eb-890f-cd8ea5f035f9">The political climate in Texas has changed</h2>When I was a young woman, I felt very proud to be a Texan. I think that speaks volumes.<h2 id="24604931-40f0-4613-8d16-7800f3612146">Austin has become a playground for the wealthy</h2>In the past, every Christmas, my sister-in-law and I would go with our kids to the <a target="_blank" href="https://armadillobazaar.com/">Armadillo Christmas Bazaar</a>. It was always a blast.But it started getting more high-dollar vendors. It's making money hand over fist because there's a large population in Austin now that has a significant amount of disposable income. I'm not one of them. So I stopped going.Many local businesses can also no longer afford to rent their retail space. We lost <a target="_blank" href="https://www.austinchronicle.com/locations/nomadic-notions-45582/">Nomadic Notions</a>, a store that sold jewelry beading that also had all sorts of imported fabrics. It was so Austin-nesque, a very hippie vibe. We almost lost <a target="_blank" href="https://www.toyjoy.com/">Toy Joy</a>, too.Back in the day, it was not a big deal to go down to the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.austintheatre.org/">Paramount</a> to watch a play. But because we're in far North Austin, the<a target="_blank" href="https://austin.urbanize.city/post/austin-roadway-fourth-most-congested-texas"> traffic</a> really discourages us from venturing that far into town anymore.The problem is that Austin is progressing faster than it can accommodate its population. We've been pushing the envelope for over 20 years now, operating at maximum occupancy off and on.The city is trying to address the issue. It's doing a lot of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.kut.org/transportation/2024-02-21/your-ultimate-guide-to-the-i-35-expansion-through-central-austin">expansion on the highways</a>, and we've seen residential and retail building surge in the city. I believe it will eventually improve the infrastructure enough to handle the increasing population.<h2 id="cfff9624-696e-4722-938f-537c304d49bd">Our money will go further in Pennsylvania</h2>For the past 10 years, we've been talking about leaving Austin. It was just a matter of deciding where to go.At first, we thought about Colorado, but the pandemic really changed the whole landscape. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ceo-says-denver-is-the-next-hub-for-tech-2021-2">Tech companies sunk their big dollars </a>into the state. We got priced out of a real-estate market we used to think was affordable.After Colorado, we started looking up states that would not tax our retirement income. We thought Virginia would be a good fit, but after visiting it for a week, the universe made it very clear that it was not for us.We eventually decided on Pennsylvania, where my husband is from and still has family living. We're moving to Erie, where my daughter will be attending the same high school he graduated from.The biggest driving factor is that there are an array of properties there that are affordable. We also wanted land with a lot of trees — something we couldn't afford in Austin.In Erie, we bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home on two-thirds of an acre. It's an almost 100-year-old house that has been completely remodeled and expanded. It has a 16'x16' shed, which will be my clay studio. I'm just smitten with the property.The area we're moving to is really quiet and 15 minutes away from Lake Erie. It's almost like going to the ocean because its waves are so strong, and there's a beach.I'm also really stoked that it's always at least 20 degrees cooler there. I'm outdoorsy and like to be outside on my patio with my plants. But in Austin, I would always get hot flashes. Last summer, the weather was 110 degrees.<h2 id="c6a69c0c-61c5-4a96-a44b-80a5b06d11c6">My life is going to change for the better</h2>Pennsylvania is a purple state. I like knowing there's a nice balance between both sides, so everyone seems to get a voice and representation.There will be a night-and-day difference between our lives in Texas and Pennsylvania. My husband has just retired. We'll have more time together in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood — very different from Austin, where it's loud and congested and there are condos in every backyard.There are things I am going to miss about Austin, like the cheap gas, and the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/heb-grocery-store-texas-retailer-2019-2">HEB grocery market</a>. But Erie has local produce everywhere, miles of vineyards, and fruit trees in abundance.I'll probably have to start making my own tortillas again and learn to replicate HEB's flaxseed waffles, but I like a good culinary challenge.

The filing on the stock exchange says that it will be done in “one or more tranches from time to time mainly to replace its existing high cost current or near term maturity debts requirements.” Biyani has been struggling to find investors for some time now. Future Consumer is currently looking to raise ₹300 crore through a rights issue. By March 2020, ratings agency ICRA had already placed a negative rating on Biyani’s company because of its debt. “Icra notes the increase in debt is mainly on account of an increase in debt of the operating companies, with the total debt at the group’s listed companies increased to ₹12,778 crore as on 30 September 2019 from ₹10,951 crore as on March 31, 2019," the rating agency said. The rising debt is coupled with the problems from the coronavirus pandemic where Future Retail has seen its revenues take a serious hit. In the third quarter of FY20 ending December 2019, Future Retail posted a 15% fall in profit and a 3% fall in revenue. The disruptions due to COVID-19 pandemic will only make it worse. The Group’s Future Consumer (FCL), the consumer arm of the group which runs <keyword id="6357823" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="big-bazaar">Big Bazaar</keyword> stores, already launched its own liquid detergent brand, Voom. It soon plans to come up with a powder format of it, in two weeks. On the Shelf Biyani wants to gain disproportionate share in the market, building on its vast retail presence. “Consumers will finally decide which brands to pick but we have to push our own brands on shelves too,” Biyani told ET. The Future Group operates around 1,500 stores across supermarket chains like Big Bazar, Easyday, <keyword id="162215" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hypercity">HyperCity</keyword>, Easyday and Nilgiris. Together, they account for around 5% of the HUL and P&amp;G’s annual sales worth ₹4,000 crores. FCL is leaving no stone unturned to get its brands into the market. It is planning to stock its new laundry brand Voom across fashion stores too owned by the group like FBB, <keyword id="370284" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Brand-Factory">Brand Factory</keyword> and Central stores. Ambitious targets Laundry is the biggest market category for both HUL and P&amp;G. The largest segment in the home and personal care space is worth ₹24,000 crore. HUL and P&amp;G have flagship brands like Surf, Rin, Ariel and Tide, which control more than half of the market. But, Future has set ambitious targets to get 70% of sales from their own brands in the next few, said the ET report. Laundry is a big part of this grand plan. Biyani restructured his retail company into a fast moving consumer goods company (FMCG) company, nearly a decade back. Future Consumer has its own brands and private labels. FCL already has a 20% share in the biscuit segment. Digital payment company <keyword id="143842" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mobikwik">MobiKwik</keyword> today said its customers will be able to pay <keyword id="89728" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Toll-tax">toll tax</keyword> at 391 toll plazas using the mobile wallet. 
 After receiving the approval from National Highways Authority of India (<keyword id="49448" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="nhai">NHAI</keyword>), Mobikwik's wallet service will soon be live at 391 toll plazas in India, it said in a statement. 
 
The company has received an approval from NHAI to enable commuters across all toll plazas in the country pay cashless through its mobile wallet to avoid traffic congestion due to cash crunch, it added. 
 
"Commuters across the country can soon pay cashless at all toll plazas using their MobiKwik wallet. We have taken this step in the wake of demonetisation to avoid congestion at highways, owing to the ill effects of cash crunch," MobiKwik co-founder Bipin Preet Singh said. 
 
Post scrapping of old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on November 8, NHAI has announced no charge at all toll plazas till December 2, 2016. 
 
However, the scarcity of physical cash is expected to impact the smooth traffic at tolls after this date, given that masses are still struggling to get cash. 
 
To solve this issue, MobiKwik has been roped in to digitise toll plazas in India, the company said. 
 
At the toll plazas, users will have to open the MobiKwik app on their phone and scan the QR code on the toll plaza. After entering the amount communicated by the toll operator and the vehicle number, they can press 'pay' to complete the transaction. 
 MobiKwik has about 40 million users and is accepted at 2.5 lakh merchants, including IRCTC, <keyword id="6357823" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Big-Bazaar">Big Bazaar</keyword>, OYO Rooms, Zomato, Grofers and Big Basket. 
 Founded in 2009, its investors include <keyword id="270604" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sequoia">Sequoia</keyword> Capital, American Express, Tree Line Asia, MediaTek, Net1, GMO Payment Gateway and Cisco Investments.
