The rain, however, brought further respite from the July heat. Neighbouring <keyword id="19895934" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Noida" source="keywords">Noida</keyword> also witnessed rain in the morning. Visuals from the <keyword id="22394563" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Barapullah-flyover" source="keywords">Barapullah flyover</keyword> in Delhi showed vehicles moving slowly through the waterlogged road. Visuals from Janpath, Delhi, showed rain drizzling. According to the IMD, the national capital is likely to have isolated rainfall throughout the day on Saturday. The IMD said that Delhi and Noida are expected to witness cloudy skies and light thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. The IMD predicted that light rain would continue in Delhi and Noida till July 17. Due to the rain, the water levels in the Yamuna River are expected to rise in the coming days, prompting the authorities to issue an alert to the residents of the villages of Noida situated along the banks of the river. These villages experienced severe flooding during last year's monsoon season, causing significant inconvenience to residents of both Delhi and Noida. Rain lashes parts of Delhi, many areas report waterlogging

Heavy rain lashed <keyword id="66" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="delhi" source="Orion">Delhi</keyword> on Thursday leading to traffic jams and <keyword id="52295" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="waterlogging" source="Orion">waterlogging</keyword>, besides bringing much needed respite from the scorching heat to residents. Although the rainfall plummeted the national capital's temperature, it has however disrupted normal life. Massive traffic jams were witnessed in ITO, Ring Road, nearby area of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Barapullah, Delhi-Noida border, Chilla Border, UP Gate, Delhi-Gurugram road and in Palam. In an advisory to commuters, the <keyword id="6357103" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="delhi-traffic-police" source="Orion">Delhi Traffic Police</keyword> said: "As per IMD report thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds would occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly." Apart from traffic jams, waterlogging was reported in all the low lying areas of the city. "Waterlogging was reported in the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Pul Prahladpur underpass, <keyword id="1475643" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="zakhira-flyover" source="Orion">Zakhira Flyover</keyword>, IP Estate, Vinod Nagar, Azadpur market underpass, Loni Road roundabout and near Pragati Maidan," an official said. Meanwhile, flight operations at the IGI Airport were also disrupted. The airport authorities have requested the passengers to reach out to the concerned airline for updated flight information. According to the authorities, multiple flights were delayed, while two have been diverted so far to Amritsar and Jaipur. On Tuesday, the <keyword id="6355166" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india-meteorological-department" source="Orion">India Meteorological Department</keyword> (IMD) declared the arrival of <keyword id="164166" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="southwest-monsoon" source="Orion">Southwest Monsoon</keyword> in Delhi-NCR. "Southwest Monsoon has advanced into entire Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu &amp; Kashmir, some parts of Rajasthan, entire Delhi, some parts of Punjab and Haryana today, the 30th June, 2022," it said in a tweet. Waterlogging and traffic jams in Delhi as heavy rains lash the capital

New Delhi, May 6 () As the Delhi government on Wednesday issued detailed guidelines on allowing industrial and in situ construction works during lockdown, including compulsory download of Aarogya Setu app, confusion persisted over the opening of units manufacturing non-essential goods. The guidelines were issued by district magistrates that prescribed among other things, downloading of 'Arogya Setu' mobile application by all workers and employees for alerts on proximity of coronavirus positive people. "Delhi Industries Minister Satyendar Jain in a meeting with representatives of industries in the city, organised by AAP Trade Wing, said all industries having 'access control' can start work," Brijesh Goyal, convener of AAP Trade Wing, said. The guidelines issued by the district magistrates (or chairmen of respective District Disaster Management Authority-DDMA) prescribed social distancing, use of hand wash, sanitisers and face masks, no handshakes and sharing of food and other personal items by workers and employees, thermal screening and facility of isolation in case any worker or employee developed symptoms of coronavirus infection. Some industry representatives, however, expressed concern over "lack of clarity" in the guidelines, saying they would wait till the lockdown is lifted. "It is not mentioned in the guidelines that all kinds of industries can open. It mentions only those units manufacturing essential activities. We will have to wait for clear orders before opening the units," Ashok Gupta, president of Udyog Nagar Industry Association, said. Mayapuri Industrial Area general secretary R O Gupta said the guidelines permit opening of urban industrial establishments, including special economic zones (SEZs), export oriented units (EOUs) with access control, and those units manufacturing essential goods. "Mayapuri and some other industrial areas are neither SEZs nor EOUs. They also do not have any access control. So, there is no option before us but to wait for the lockdown to be lifted," he said. Dismissing any kind of confusion, Goyal said the "doubt" over opening of factories in Delhi is over. "Most of the industries in Delhi barring those concerning essential goods were closed because the district magistrates refused permission to them. But the industries minister today said that all kinds of essential and non-essential industries with access control can be run in industrial areas in Delhi as per the MHA guidelines," he said. Delhi has 28 notified industrial areas besides at least 23 such areas that are notified under redevelopment and do not have access control i.e. permitting regulated entry and exit. Goyal said the industries minister has asked all district authorities to issue clear guidelines so that production units can start work. The construction activities in the city resumed with the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Delhi government taking up work on major infrastructure projects, including a tunnel for diversion of traffic on Mathura Road, Barapullah elevated corridor and a couple of flyovers, officials said.
