<ul><li>Indian markets regulator has approved 16 IPOs worth ₹16,000 crore to go public. </li><li>In 2019, Indian companies raised ₹1.25 lakh crore from IPOs in 2019. </li><li>Edelweiss expects the list of IPOs to swell in the coming months due to ample ‘liquidity’ in the market.</li></ul>From a subsidiary of the country’s largest bank, the State Bank of India, to a burger joint rivalling McDonald's— there is a whole range of companies that want to get listed on Indian stock exchanges this year. Indian markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approved 16 IPOs worth ₹16,000 crore ($2.24 billion). And, yet another 13 companies which want to raise as much as ₹21,200 crore are await approval, says a report by Edelweiss Broking. These companies might want to replicate the success they saw last year. In 2019, new public issues raised as much as ₹1.25 lakh crore. “We expect the pipeline to grow stronger and larger as the year passes by,” the report stated.  SBI Cards and Payments Services is a subsidiary of the country’s largest bank SBI. It is planning to raise around ₹9,600 crore, according to SEBI document. SBI Cards IPO comprises fresh issuance of equity shares aggregating up to ₹500 crores, according to the <a href="https://www.sebi.gov.in/filings/public-issues/dec-2019/sbi-cards-and-payment-services-limited_45160.html">SEBI’s draft offer document</a>. SBI Cards is the second-largest credit card issuer in the country with almost 9.4 million outstanding cards.  Bajaj Energy is one of the largest private-sector thermal generation companies in Uttar Pradesh. It received approval to raise as much as ₹5,450 crore. The IPO comprises fresh issuance of shares aggregating up to ₹5,150 crore and an offer for sale of scrips up to ₹300 crore by Bajaj Power Ventures, according to the <a href="https://www.sebi.gov.in/filings/public-issues/apr-2019/bajaj-energy-limited_42638.html">SEBI’s draft offer documents</a>.  The rival of McDonald’s, Burger King is one of the fastest-growing food chains in India. RailTel’s ₹700 crore initial public offering The state-owned RailTel Corporation has filed a Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for an initial public offer of up to 8.66 crore equity shares. The company is likely to raise ₹700 crore through the IPO, a complete offer for sale by the Central government. It has appointed ICICI Securities, IDBI Capital, SBI Capital Markets as the book running lead managers to the issue. ESAF Small Finance Bank The Kerala-based ESAF Small Finance Bank had filed DRHP in January and subsequently got the approval from SEBI at the end of March. However, the bank delayed its initial public offering due to the volatile market conditions and said it would take a call on ₹976-crore initial public offering (IPO) after September. The ₹976-crore IPO of ESAF Small Finance Bank will comprise a fresh issue worth ₹800 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) aggregating up to ₹176.2 crore. Kalyan Jewellers Kerala based Jewellery maker, Kalyan Jewellers, is also expected to launch a ₹1,750 crore initial public offering (IPO) in <a href="http://www.marketsguruji.com/upcoming-ipos-in-india/">November</a>. The ₹1,750 crore IPO will be the largest in its sector. The issue will consist of a fresh fundraise of ₹1,000 crore and offer of sale by promoter TS Kalyanaraman and private equity firm Warburg Pincus of ₹750 crore. Some analysts have recommended avoiding the IPO because of increasing digital payments in the country that could have an adverse effect on AGS Transact’s business. “The company is one of India's leading omni-channel payment solution providers with a strong network. However, the government's focus on digital payments will further decrease the use and availability of cash can have an adverse effect on business activities,” said analysts at Swastika Invest while recommending a ‘avoid’ rating to the IPO. The 30-share index was trading 435.74 points or 0.73 per cent lower at 59,200.27. Similarly, the <keyword id="6354813" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nifty" source="Orion">Nifty</keyword> fell 129.85 points or 0.73 per cent to 17,634.95. Reliance Industries (RIL) was the top loser in the Sensex pack, shedding around 4 per cent after the company shelved a proposed deal to sell a 20 per cent stake in its oil refinery and petrochemical business to Saudi Aramco for USD 15 billion. It said its energy portfolio has changed with the foray into a new energy business, which would require a re-evaluation of the deal. Other laggards include Maruti, Bajaj Finance, Kotak Bank and Bajaj Finserv. On the other hand, <keyword id="6354287" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bharti-airtel" source="Orion">Bharti Airtel</keyword>, PowerGrid, Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank and ITC were among the gainers. In the previous session, Sensex ended 372.32 points or 0.62 per cent lower at 59,636.01. Similarly, the NSE Nifty fell 133.85 points or 0.75 per cent to 17,764.80. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital market, as they offloaded shares worth Rs 3,930.62 crore on Thursday, as per exchange data. Equity markets were closed on Friday on account of 'Guru Nanak Jayanti'. Nifty has corrected around 4.5 per cent from the all-time high. The risk-off mood in global markets may gather strength on fresh COVID cases in Europe and lockdowns in countries like Austria, said VK Vijaykumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services. The dollar index rising above 96 is another concern while the decline in crude is positive for India, he said, adding that the disastrous listing of <keyword id="6357120" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="paytm" source="Orion">Paytm</keyword> may bring sanity to the exuberant IPO valuations . FIIs are likely to accelerate selling in this risk-off environment. Retail investors need not rush in to buy on declines. Partial profit booking and raising the cash level in the portfolio may be considered, he noted. Elsewhere in Asia, bourses in Hong Kong and Tokyo were trading with losses in mid-session deals, while Shanghai and Seoul were positive. Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.06 per cent to USD 78.84 per barrel. Mumbai, State-run energy major <keyword id="6354737" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ONGC">ONGC</keyword> will create a wholly-owned subsidiary to focus on its company's <keyword id="6355653" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="gas">gas</keyword> and <keyword id="79382" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="LNG">LNG</keyword> business. Its Board of Directors has given its nod for the creation of the subsidiary company subject to necessary approvals. "The company will be formed with the objective of sourcing, marketing and trading of natural gas, LNG business, Hydrogen-enriched CNG, gas to <keyword id="493128" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="power-business">power business</keyword>, bioenergy/biogas/biomethane/other bio fuels business etc," ONGC said in statement. On Saturday, the diversified energy major reported a decline of 67.4 per cent in its standalone net profit for Q3FY21 on a year-on-year basis. According to the company, the standalone Q3FY21 net profit fell to ₹1,378 crore as against ₹4,226 crore reported during the corresponding period of previous fiscal. Similarly, gross revenue declined 28.2 per cent to ₹17,024 crore as against ₹23,710 crore in FY20. "Despite countrywide lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic, ONGC has almost reached last year's production levels in case of crude oil from its operated blocks," the company said in a statement. "The shortfall in gas production is primarily due to less offtake by customers due to Covid-19 pandemic," it added.
