Hip Hop star 50 Cent to perform in India in November

Celebrated comedian-actor <keyword id="63229" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="raju-srivastava" source="Orion">Raju Srivastava</keyword> died on Wednesday after over 40 days of hospitalisation here, said his brother <keyword id="14803193" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="dipoo-srivastava" source="Orion">Dipoo Srivastava</keyword>. He was 58. Raju <keyword id="5915" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="srivastava" source="Orion">Srivastava</keyword> suffered a heart attack on August 10 while working out at a hotel here. He was rushed to the <keyword id="6365231" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="all-india-institute-of-medical-sciences" source="Orion">All India Institute of Medical Sciences</keyword> (<keyword id="40458" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="aiims" source="Orion">AIIMS</keyword>) and underwent angioplasty. Since then, he was on the ventilator and never gained consciousness. "I got a call from the family about half-an-hour ago saying he is no more. It is really unfortunate news. He was fighting in the hospital for over 40 days," Dipoo Srivastava told PTI. Raju Srivastava was declared dead at 10.20 am, according to hospital sources. A familiar face in the entertainment industry since the 1980s, the comedian tasted unparalleled success after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge" (2005). But while the memes might be funny, Dipke says there’s a lot of hard work that went behind them. “For the last four months, we have concentrated on putting together all our achievements, the report cards, and work done in the last five years. Parvez Khan, the action director who worked in films like Andhadhun and Badlapur, passes away

The much awaited trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie <keyword id="6385067" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="fan">Fan</keyword> was released yesterday, and by the looks of it, we can safely say that after a string of commercially successful but critically panned movies in the past few years, the King Khan has finally stepped on the path of redemption as an actor and not just a successful star. 
 
The trailer takes us to Gaurav Chanana, the self-proclaimed biggest fan of superstar Aryan Khanna, who also happens to be his look-alike. After winning a local competition as the biggest fan of Khanna, he goes to Mumbai to meet Khanna, only to create a ruckus in the life of his idol after he fails to appreciate his love and admiration for him. 
 
The trailer then shows the limits of his obsession, which turns dangerous for both his and his idol’s life, after a string of stunts in Mumbai, Croatia, and London, in which we see Aryan running after Gaurav, proving his point that now a star would run behind his fan. 
 
The fact that Khan spent a significant time sitting on a chair getting his make-up done by Academy Award winner make-up artist Greg Cannom to look like a look-alike of himself is not the only interesting thing about the trailer. It’s actually the feeling of immense happiness when you see a seemingly good actor acting well, not only in one role but in both the roles assigned to him. 
 
Neither do we see Khan hopelessly wooing a girl, nor do we see him using his persona and charm to make the movie work; in fact, Khan, for a change, has managed to act so well that it reminds us of his good old days, when he used to rule the space of thriller movies, like Baazigar, Darr and Anjaam. 
 The film is directed by <keyword id="112723" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maneesh-Sharma">Maneesh Sharma</keyword>, who has helmed successful romantic movies like Band Baaja Baaraat, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Shuddh Desi Romance, and looks like this thriller is well-made too.

The reason for the celebration of music lovers is the music of this movie, which would make you relive the India of 1990s, more so because the movie is based in 1995. 
 What makes the music of this Yash Raj venture even more special is the fact that it marks the comeback of melody king <keyword id="35680" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kumar-Sanu">Kumar Sanu</keyword> with heart-touching and foot-tapping tracks, ‘Tu’ and ‘Dard Karaara’, respectively. 
 Talking of ‘Tu’, the song is bound to take you to the romantic music of Saajan, Aashiqui, Baazigar and Pardes. The use of orchestra, combined with a soothing whistle brings out the best of romantic music that people in the ’90s loved. Add to it the 90s style dance sequence in ‘Dard Karaara’ and you have the perfect album for whenever you feel nostalgic about the good old growing-up years; thanks to Kumar Sanu, Sadhna Sargam, and the music composer <keyword id="2225" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Anu-Malik">Anu Malik</keyword>. 
 
Other than the music, the attraction of the movie is debutante Bhumi Pednekar, who used to work as the assistant of Shanoo, the casting director of Yash Raj films. To say the least, Bhumi Pednekar doesn’t look like a conventional actress, given her plain jane looks and healthy figure. However, she proved in the trailer itself what she has it in herself that bagged her three-film deal with Yash Raj, one of the most reputed production houses in the industry. 
 
Kumar Sanu plays an important part not only in the music but also the script of the story, given that Ayushmann Khurrana’s character is a huge Kumar Sanu fan. The singer would also be seen doing a cameo in the film. 
 
Let’s hope that other music composers and film makers learn from the album and offer some great music and not blaring noises that is served in the name of music these days.
